Cold Nights

~Matt's POV~

It's cold tonight…like most nights in winter. But tonight seemed colder than normal, maybe it had to do with how tired I am…I've been at band practice almost all day. Usually I don't have a problem with practicing all day but for some reason my mind was else where…I'm not sure why but I've been thinking a lot lately. Thinking about myself and my life mostly. I know…it seems weird but that's what's been running through my mind. I've just been so…lonely. Sure I've got my sister Mikin, but she's always busy with her studies and soccer. Besides she's dating my best friend…Tai. Now their always together and it's like they've completely forgotten about me. Now I'm just kind of stuck about what to do… I let my mind wander among my thoughts as I walked home that night. I was so tired…Soon I reached the park and not too far ahead of me was a bench. I couldn't help it, I just had to sit down for a while. I sat down, sighing. The sky was so clear tonight. The moon shone brightly above me and soon my thoughts consumed me once more and then next thing I knew was darkness.

~Mayuka's POV~

"Matt! I'm home!" Silence. I tried again.

"Matt!"

Silence…

`That's weird…he's usually home before me…guess he's running late.' I thought to myself. Running late…I hoped that was all it was. My brother was usually always home before me and it wasn't like him to be late. Yet knowing him he and his band probably just lost track of time. Kind of how Tai and I did. We decided to go for dinner after soccer practice and we got so wrapped up we lost track of time. Even though he was later I didn't want it to bother me so I decided to go take a shower. Hopefully he'll be home by then.

~Tai's POV~

I sighed as I collapsed onto my bed. It had been a long day. After school I had soccer practice and then I had dinner with Mikin. Poor girl…she's worried about Matt. She told me about how's he's been acting all distant. For Matt being distant is never a good thing. It usually means he's hiding something. Matt always keeps his feelings bottled up inside and never tells anyone anything. I worry about him when he gets like this. I mean…Matt's my best friend. All I want to do is help him but he just shuts me out. I hope he'll be ok…

"TAI!"

"AHHH!" I shot up off my bed as my sister walked in my room.

"Geez….you didn't have to scream Kari."

"Sorry, Mikin's on the phone. She sounds upset."

"Huh?" I immediately jumped off my bed a took the phone from my sister.

"Mikin? What's wrong? Are you ok?"

"Tai…It's Matt…" she said.

"Matt? What happened? Is he ok?"

"I don't know…he never came home…I'm so worried Tai. I don't know what to do…" she sounded so worried. I have to do something.

"Don't worry, I'll go look for him ok? You just stay there in case he comes home ok?"

"Ok…Thank Tai. If anyone can find him you can."

I smiled. "Don't worry ok. I'm sure he's just fine. I'll call you when I find him."

"Thanks Tai."

"Anytime hun. I love you."

I couldn't see her but I knew she was smiling.

"I love you too Tai."

I hung up and ran to my room.

"What's wrong Tai?" Kari shouted from the living room.

"Matt's missing I'm going out to look for him." I said while putting on my shoes.

"Do you want me to come with you?" she asked walking toward me.

"No. Stay here in case anyone calls. Tell mom where I am when she gets home ok?"

She nodded. "Ok I will"

"Thanks Kari." I said as I ran out the door.

`Where are you Matt…'
