Beauty is something that shines from within... even sin can bring
beauty... look deep into your soul and search for the darkness that
makes you beautiful...
TK looked over to the sleeping beauty that lay next to him. The dull
moonlight illuminated her breasts making them look a beautiful deep
silver. A gentle breeze carefully swayed her hair as she slept,
filling her with even more beauty. Her chest gently rose and fell as
she breathed gracefully. She was so beautiful that TK could have spent
hours just laying there watching her.
He turned his head and stared at the dark sky, filled with millions of
bright burning stars. An occasional shooting star streaked across the
void for an instant, its destination never to be known. The crescent
moon stood sentry in the sky, watching over the Earth and all who
dwelt upon it.
"What are you thinking about, TK?" Kari asked sleepily as she notched
her eyes open to look at him.
"About a lot of things," TK mumbled.
"Do you want to talk about any of them?"
"Not really, they're just miscellaneous thoughts."
Kari sat up and looked at him, "TK, can I ask you something?"
"Sure."
"I know that you've killed people, but is there anyone you truly
regret killing?"
"Well, I've never felt bad about most the people I've killed. But one
man I killed accidentally, a police officer."
"Oh... what happened?"
"It was when I had just started being active in the gang and we were
in a gunfight with a smaller gang one evening. A police officer
happened to show up on the scene and was trying to calm the situation.
Some one started shooting at him and he returned fire in our
direction. I wasn't sure what to do, since I was so inexperienced, and
shot back at him. He hadn't noticed the little kid who was about
twenty feet to his left and slightly behind him. I hit him three
times, all in the back. He died at the hospital the next day."
"That's terrible, but you sound like you're sorry for it."
"Yeah, but the worst part was that he had just gotten off-duty and
picked up his young son to go home. His son was in the back of the cop
car and watched me kill his dad. The kid was only a few years younger
than me, and I don't think that he realized what was happening.
A few days later, his wife went insane. She took her son to a river,
tied him up, and... threw him in. Then she shot herself and fell in
the river as well. The police found her body a few days later, and
just finding it was a miracle. They never found the body of her son.
So because of me, three people who had nothing to do with the gangs...
died."
"I'm so sorry, TK... I shouldn't have asked."
"No... it's alright. We all do things that we regret, but you just
have to keep on living. I'm just glad that I met you in time to change
my life."
Kari smiled, "I love you, even if you're not perfect."
"Well, you definitely are," he laughed and grabbed her in his arms,
and kissed her with all the love in his soul. "But even if you
weren't, I'd still love you anyways!"
It had been a week since Cody's death. When the police and firemen
arrived at the scene, the building had already burned to a smoldering
heap on the barren ground. Reports had said that over a hundred people
had been in their low-income apartments when the explosion ended their
pointless lives. Forensic specialists had reported that most residents
were killed instantly, and felt little pain. There had been so many
charred bones, and corrupted bodies... that identifying each victim
was an impossible task, as well as a waist of money.
All who died had been very poor, and few were considered important to
the community. A mass grave had been dug, and all the remains had been
dumped into the dank pit. There was no eulogy or prayer offered for
the comfort of their loved ones.
The two carnivores were at the brink of war once again. The tension
was stronger than it had ever been in years. Ishida's openly blamed
the Kamiya gang for the death of their newly ordained leader. The
Kamiya's claimed innocence and absolutely no connection to the
disaster.
One single grain of sand would tip the scale, and all would fall to
ruin. Hell was eagerly awaiting the chance that it needed to lay siege
to heaven, and conquer it mercilessly. The angels prepared for war,
and the demons sharpened their swords.
Taichi, in an attempt to reconcile the Ishidas, volunteered to pay for
a funeral for their murdered leader. He also felt the pain that
plagued his destined brother-in-law's heart for the loss of his dear
friend, and wanted to help in any way that he could.
There was controversy as to whether the funeral should be religious or
not. Most of the gang members claimed no religion; it's easier to kill
when you believe that there isn't some benign deity looking over your
shoulder and keeping track of the lives you ruin. In the end it had
been decided to make the funeral non-religious, and to keep it small
as well. Not that it could have been large, not many had known Cody
outside of the gang; his past had been sketchy, but considered
unimportant. Cody had said he had no blood ties to anyone, his parents
had abandoned him at birth and he had grown up in an orphanage and
then run away. After a few years of living alone on the streets, he
had finally decided to join one of the two powerhouse gangs.
He said he had considered joining the Kamiyas, but the majority of the
members of that gang were rich or well off. So he had looked to the
Ishidas for companionship. The Ishida gang was considered the most
powerful do to two main factors: superior leadership, and massive
numbers. The second factor was why many considered the Ishida gang to
have the upper edge, but the Kamiya gang had stronger technology as
well as more money.
After completing the initiation trial with such achievement, Cody had
quickly risen in the ranks of the gang, and become respected by most
on the street, even the Kamiyas. And when TK had decided to leave the
gang, Cody had taken his place as second in command of the most
powerful gang in Tokyo. Then he died.
That was basically the short life story of Cody. There were few people
who attended the funeral. Aside from Kari, TK and Matt, a few other
members of the gang that had known Cody personally had shown up.
Tai had come to the funeral as well; he wanted to be there to comfort
Kari as well as TK. Yet, there was one mourner present who did not
belong at all. It was a mockery of the funeral that he should attend,
that he should morn the key victory over one of his opposing gangs'
important leaders. Yes, Daisuke had come to the funeral. He stood
silently on the opposite end of the friends of the deceased. He had no
expression on his face, and he held a large bouquet of healthy red
roses in expression of his sorrow.
After the mourners laid their flowers on the casket, which might have
contained some of Cody's bones, but most likely housed the bones of
some other unfortunate soul, the funeral was announced over and the
mourners trailed off in their own directions, heading back to whatever
business concerned them. As TK was leaving alone, Kari had left with
her brother, he was disgusted to be approached by Daisuke.
Daisuke was smiling slyly, "Well KT, long time, no see." He chuckled
lightly.
"It's TK," TK said coldly, "and I can't say I'm all that glad to see
you."
"You're just jealous that I got to go to New York while you were stuck
here."
That was Daisuke, ego bigger than brains. "Let's cut the bull-shit
Daisuke, what do you want?"
"I want to meet with you over dinner, I have some really important
issues to discuss with you."
"I'm sorry, but I'm not in the gang scene anymore, and I don't really
want to have dinner with you anyways."
"Come on, ol' buddy, it'll be my treat." He leaned towards TK's ear
and whispered as if he didn't want anyone to overhear, "Besides, I
have some vital information on the murder of your comrade."
TK's ears twitched at this, and his curiosity had been tapped. What
could Daisuke tell him about the death of his friend? Whatever he
learned he would tell to Matt in order to achieve the revenge that his
friend so richly deserved. "Fine, I'll meet with you. But you come
alone, and I'll come alone."
"TK, I wouldn't even think of ambushing you. My men would be too
afraid, after what they've heard about you killing those ten people
who ambushed you."
"It was fourteen."
"Whatever... meet me at this restreraunt at six o'clock sharp." He
slipped a piece of paper into TK's shirt pocket. "And please don't be
late, I'm rather impatient." With that Daisuke turned and walked to
the limousine that waited for him.
TK yelled to him, "By the way... love the goggles!" Daisuke looked
annoyed.
What was Daisuke up to? He was brilliant in military strategy, and a
refined killer on the street, but was he really capable of running a
powerful gang without becoming totally corrupted by the power? TK
pulled the soft white paper from his pocket. It read: Viva la France,
Five Star Resteraunt and Bar. At least he would get a free dinner at
the most extravagant place in Tokyo.
TK had thought about wearing something nice to the meeting, but had
decided against it. He did not like it when people tried to impress
and rise themselves above others by wearing excessively fancy outfits.
Not fitting in didn't bother him, but he had to admit a scrubby
looking teen in a five-star restaurant would be quite a funny site.
Bright lights and neon signs flashed and burned TK's eyes. Many
extravagant cars passed down the strip next to him, all the rich cats
glared at the misfit of cultured society. TK walked under the covered
sidewalk and was about to enter Viva la France, when a strong, icy
grip squeezed his shoulder. TK looked behind him to see a large, bulky
man dressed in a rental tuxedo.
"Excuse me, sir. But I think you must be lost," he said in a deep,
menacing voice.
"Nope, buddy, I know exactly were I'm going. I don't want any trouble,
so just let me through." TK replied with a smirk on his face.
"Listen, asshole... you'd better get the fuck out of here before I
turn that pretty little face of yours into a bloody pimple."
"I'm meeting someone here, so get the fuck off me."
"All right, kid, I warned ya." The man raised his fist as if to
intimidate the little punk. TK just smiled, the man was a coward; he
could feel it. After being on the street for so long, TK could smell a
coward a mile away.
At that moment a stunning waitress walked out the doors, and looked at
the clash currently taking place. Her face was confused for an
instant, before it turned to a large smile. "Bruno, you can let him
go." The bouncer looked at her angrily. "It's alright, he's a guest of
the mayor's son."
Bruno let TK to the ground gently, and began to brush off his cloths.
"Sorry, sir, I had no idea that you were with Mr. Motomiya. Please
forgive me for bothering you."
"Thanks," TK chuckled. Then he turned to the waitress, "How do you
know that I'm Daisuke's guest?"
"Well, he said to look for an oddball. And no one dressed like you
could afford to eat at this place, so I assume that you are who he was
talking about," she giggled.
TK wasn't sure whether or not to be offended by this comment, but
followed her anyways. He looked back at the bouncer and hissed, "There
are no tears for a coward." The bouncer scowled.
Inside the building was beyond luxurious. He would have to take Kari
here one day. Plush red carpet lined the floor in all directions.
Various tanks containing exotic fish lined the walls and one waiter
was grabbing the biggest lobster TK had ever seen fresh from one of
them. Multitudes of rich people looked at him suspiciously as he
passed by. Some old women murmured comments to their husbands. TK
overheard one woman say, "He must be a new dishwasher." TK would never
understand why rich people looked down their noses at the less
fortunate.
The waitress led him up a small staircase to a less populated area and
to a table toward the back of the room. Daisuke was sitting at a table
in an overly expensive black and gray tuxedo, he was sipping what
appeared to be a glass of wine. Of course Daisuke was under the
drinking age, but money supercedes the law.
"Here is your guest, Mr. Motomiya," she smiled and held out her hand
in a motion for TK to sit down.
"Excellent, Julia... I'm ready to order now. I will have the fillet
minion with lobster and shrimp. And my friend here will have the liver
and onions with a nice glass of Chianti."
"Fine choices, sir. I'll make sure that the cook makes these his first
priority." The waitress walked off to help another customer.
"Sure, you get the steak, and I get stuck with liver," TK gagged.
"Trust me, the liver and onion here is to die for," Daisuke smiled
cunningly.
"Well, let's get to business. I don't want to spend more time with you
than I have to."
"I am deeply hurt by that comment, TK. But first, tell me... what kind
of gun do you have with you?"
TK looked at him questioningly, "A Vektor CP1, what does that have to
do with anything?"
"Ah, at least you have some fashion sense when it comes to guns. I
myself prefer a Springfield Night Compact .45 caliber, it holds less
ammo, but it's much more accurate." Daisuke hadn't known it, but he
had hit one of TK's soft spots. TK loved guns, and he could spend all
night talking about them, but he was with the enemy after all.
"I see that you don't like to go cheap. But you still haven't answered
my question as to why you asked."
"Well, you see TK, I had to be prepared incase you try anything funny.
I have five people stationed around the restaurant, all of whom are
carrying Glock Sub-compacts. I would hate for a gun fight in my
favorite place to dine, but one can never be to safe with a legend of
the streets."
"You're a legend as well, both on and off the streets."
"Of course, and a gun fight between you and I would be quite
exhilarating and evenly matched. But I just wanted you to know that
this is a strictly business meeting."
"Cut the praise shit, Daisuke."
Daisuke smirked, "Let's get to business then, shall we? I have a
proposal for you."
"What can't you get through your thick skull about me being out of all
gang business?"
"Hear me out, TK. I propose that you re-join your gang at your
brother's side. Then the Kamiyas and Ishidas could merge and rule this
city. We both do a lot of damage to each other's drug and weapon
trade, but working together we could have a monopoly. And without this
pointless conflict between our gangs, less money would be needed to
fund protection from each other. The other small gangs would be out of
it. Together we could massacre each one. Just think, TK, together we
could become omnipotent."
TK sighed. This proposal was very unlike Daisuke. He was obviously up
to something. "So we join you, end the years long conflict, and rule
Tokyo. The Kamiya strategy has always been to eliminate the Ishidas at
all costs, and keep what profits you have left. I don't think that
Taichi would consider that wise, how do you know we won't betray you
and you won't betray us?"
"TK... I'm a businessman. Blood costs a lot of money; that is why I
hate this bloody war as much as you do. But you don't seem to
understand, I have done the Ishida gang a great favor. Without your
leadership, we will crush them very soon. That is why I had to remove
the kid who took your place. Without you, the Ishida gang is no better
than the weak little rodent gangs that plague us."
"So it was you who killed Cody!" TK growled angrily, his hand moving
to the pocket of his coat for his gun. Out of the corner of his eye he
saw three other people throughout the restaraunt turn toward him with
the motion of reaching for their guns.
Daisuke placed his elbows on the table and placed his chin in his
hands, "Now TK, I figured you might be a little angry. You're just
confused... I did you a huge kindness!"
TK put his hand back on the table, "You call killing one of my best
friends, as well as a hundred other innocent people, a kindness? You
are one sick son-of-a-bitch."
"Hey, we had some good heroine customers in that building, so I had to
sacrifice as well."
"You deserve to die for what you did."
"And you have done many deeds worthy of death as well. But I consider
religion for fools, and I have few morals, so I sleep well at night."
"I'm not religious myself, but at least I have some respect for human
life."
The waitress brought their food to the table and set it in front of
them. "Thank you, madam," Daisuke smiled and winked at the waitress.
She blushed and went back to her work. Daisuke took a cut a piece of
the meat and ate it. "This fillet minion is absolutely divine. How's
your liver and onions?"
"I'm not hungry. So is that all you wanted to talk about? Make a
ridiculous offer for us to join you and tell me your responsible for
the murder of my friend? I'll make sure that Matt knows about this,
and have a sniper put on you ASAP."
"I thought you were more rational than your crack head brother. That
was why I told you this. You are not seeing the benefits. We could
bring piece to Tokyo... end the killing."
TK stood up and prepared to leave, "No, that is exactly why I left the
street life. I want to have a new life, one where I can just be a
normal person." TK began to walk away.
"You want to spend the rest of your life with her, don't you?"
TK turned, "Who?"
Daisuke's face grew contorted with anger, "Don't fuck with me. I know
all about you and Hikari. I know every date you've been on with her. I
even know the place where you fuck her. You're not the only one with
spies, TK."
TK traveled back to the table and looked directly into Daisuke's eyes.
"My relationship with Kari is none of your business."
Daisuke smiled with rage, "Hikari is still mine, and I won't let some
poor piece of shit take her away from me!"
"Despite all your money and fame, you're still jealous of me. I
finally have something of value and you want to take her away from me.
You're nothing but a sniveling pussy rich boy who gets whatever he
wants from his wealthy parents." TK turned and walked away.
He heard Davis yell after him, "I will take Kari back from you! You
won't always be there to protect her!"
A blend of musty odors, mixed with the smell of lavender and cheap
perfume clogged TK's senses as he walked down the halls of the home.
It was homely in a rat-hole sort of way. Women called and blew kisses
at TK, who in return just grimaced and waved back. Most of the women
were dressed in tight, little covering outfits. Many pulled out their
breasts for him to view, and see if they were worth purchasing.
Yes, nothing like a friendly visit to the Ishida brothel. As TK
mounted a staircase he heard a voice call to him, it rang of past
memories and faded love. "TK, TK!"
He turned to see the person whom the voice belonged to. A petite
gorgeous blonde girl ran to him. Her large, pale breasts bounced, as
they were not confined to a piece of cloth. She was completely naked
except for a tight red thong covering the most important area. At a
year younger than TK, she was beautiful all right, but seemed as
nothing but a shadow compared to Kari.
"Hi Catherine," he said reluctantly.
The girl ran and hugged TK in a strong embrace. TK was reluctant to
return the embrace; ex-girlfriends were always a pain. "Wow, I haven't
seen you in ages. Why don't you come around anymore?" she giggled.
"I've been pretty busy lately."
"Oh, well, are you looking for a good way to relax?" She looked at him
seductively and licked her lips.
"Not at the moment," he said sadly.
"You don't have any money? TK, you know that you don't need to pay me.
It's my pleasure to pleasure you! Come on, it'll be just like old
times!"
"Sorry, Catherine, but I need to talk to Matt, have you seen him?"
"Yeah, he's upstairs with Mimi. You know that I'm always here for you
TK, so if you ever want to `relax,' I'd be glad to help. Anyways, I
heard about you leaving the gang. I like a man who wants to be
responsible."
"So I wasn't responsible when I was in the gang?" he raised an eyebrow
and looked at her questioningly.
"You're the most responsible man I know, and besides, I still can't
get over you. Are you sure you don't want these?" She cupped her
breasts in her hands and pushed them toward TK's face.
TK moved his head, somewhat disgusted. Then he put his hand on her
shoulder and gently pushed her back. "Cathy, go make my brother some
money."
Catherine pouted her lips, "Fine, but if you change your mind, you
know where to find me. I'll even leave a customer if I have to." She
reached up and kissed him on the cheek. Then she went back down the
hall and joined some of the other prostitutes in a conversation.
TK continued up the stairs in search of his brother. The upper floor
consisted of a number of rooms used to service the `customers' of the
whorehouse. Sounds of viscous lovemaking filled the air and the smell
of sweat joined the previous smells. Now which room was his brother
in?
He opened the door to one of the rooms and peeked in. The room was
occupied, and a couple were hungrily fucking each other. TK recognized
the red haired man who called out to him, "Hey, TK, how about a little
privacy?"
"Sorry Koushiro," TK blushed. He hated this place so much. Koushiro
was the financial and technical adviser to Matt. The guy was a
complete genius. Had he had a good family growing up, he might have
been a professor or scientist someday.
Many scenes mimicked the previous one as TK journey from room to
trying to find his brother. After a few death threats and a number of
clothes being thrown at him, TK finally found the room containing his
brother. Go figure, it was the very last one he checked.
He opened the door and looked in the grungy room to see Mimi, his
brother's long-term girlfriend, and local hooker, straddling his
brother's waist and moving rhythmically up and down. The bed shook
violently as they fornicated. Matt glanced up at him and Mimi, who was
shirtless, turned toward him.
"TK!" Matt called happily. He lifted Mimi off him and laid her down at
his side. "Hey, you wanna finish her up?"
TK's face was filled with disgust. "Uh, no thanks Matt."
"Come on, TK, it'll be fun. We can all do it together, were all like
family," coaxed Mimi.
"Yeah, we share everything. Go ahead." Matt laughed.
"No offense, but that's really sick. Besides, I don't think Kari would
approve of it."
"Oh yeah, you got a woman now. Well invite her over and we can all
have a big party." Matt was laughing hysterically now.
"Maybe she and I could put on a show for you two," Mimi giggled.
"Being with another woman sounds exciting!"
"What the hell are you guys on!?" TK cried angrily. Matt was a little
crude at times, but this was way out there.
Matt reached over to the desk and pulled a plastic bottle off it. It
rattled with the sound of pills as he tossed it to TK. TK opened it
and looked at the glossy white pills contained inside. "What's this?"
he asked.
"It's great stuff, imported all the way from the US of A! They call it
Ecstasy over there, and I don't blame them. This shit makes you horny
as hell!" Matt grabbed Mimi and began to kiss her violently. Seeing
this made TK glad he had given up life on the streets even more. To
think he actually enjoyed this stuff at one time made his stomach
heave.
"Great, I have some major important news to tell you, and you're all
doped up." TK threw the bottle back on the bed and walked out of the
room.
"Wait," Matt cried as he chased after TK, trying to cover himself with
a pair of pants. He was very off balance and crashed into the wall.
"TK, don't walk so fast, the ground is spinning like crazy!"
TK turned to his brother and helped him up off the ground. He had left
the pair of pants on the ground and many of the surrounding women
chuckled and licked their lips. "Matt," he pointed to the ground and
laughed, "don't forget to cover yourself."
Matt blushed and picked up the pants and covered himself, "Alright TK,
don't get so mad. What's so important that you had to interrupt me and
Mimi?"
"Matt, Daisuke's the one who killed Cody." TK's eyes became wet, and
he was on the verge of tears at the memory of his lost friend.
"Fuck," Matt swore as he punched the wall. "I should have known that
that bastard was the one behind it!"
"But listen to this, he wants us to merge with his gang. He thinks it
will have mutual benefits."
"After what they just did, not a chance in hell. You know that he's
just planning to use us for all his dirty work, don't you?"
"Of course. But that's not what I'm worried about. How'd they find out
were Cody lived? And we have to avenge his death. We're getting in
some deep shit here, Matt. There has to be another leak somewhere, and
things are going to get really bad if you don't do something soon."
"Well, if you were back in the gang, we could teach those fucking
Kamiyas whose boss around here."
"Not with a leak, Matt. They're going to know your every move, and I
mean you. No force on Heaven or Earth could get me to go back to
street life. I'll try to help you out, but there is no way I'm going
to get Kari or myself involved in this war."
"But TK," Matt started.
"Listen, we'll talk about this later. Hopefully you'll be a little
more sober by then and can think strait. But go back to Mimi now,
she's waiting for you in there." TK motioned to the room.
"Fine, but you sure know how to screw up me having a good time," Matt
looked sulkily at TK.
"Don't try and make me feel guilty Matt, now get going." With that, TK
turned and walked back down the stairs. He hoped that Catherine would
be with a customer, talking to her once a day was more than enough.
Thin sheets of pink silk and velvet gently caressed Kari's smooth skin
as she brushed her wet hair in order to remove the tangles. She could
still feel warm steam rising from her body after the long, relaxing
shower she had just taken. The air-conditioned-room made her feel
rather sleepy after finally getting out of the hot sun all day. Bright
beams of moonlight passed through the window and basked the room in a
cold metallic glow. A few birds chirped quietly from the tree adjacent
to her room. Somewhere in the distance a dog could be heard barking.
It must have been around ten o'clock in the night. Kari had had a very
busy, and not to mention exhausting, day. After the funeral she had
gone home and helped Sora to plan some things for her wedding, which
was rapidly approaching in two weeks. After that, her parents had
dragged her to some rich lady's birthday party; which lasted most of
the evening.
Throughout the whole party, she couldn't stop thinking about TK. She
couldn't stop thinking about how incredible he was. Though they had
come from completely different backgrounds, love had managed to bring
them together. He was the nicest, sweetest, and bravest man she had
ever known. The only person who even came close to him was Taichi. The
two people she cared most about in the entire world, Taichi and TK,
were now safe from the streets. It wasn't herself that she had worried
about being hurt, but them. That was why she wanted them to become
friends, rather than remain enemies.
Her desire for TK was stronger than ever right now. For some strange
reason, of which she was not sure, she felt something queer in the
thin night air, and she wished TK could be there to keep her company.
She had wanted to spend the evening with TK, but with the party and
everything else, so would have been too tired to be much fun.
After laying her hairbrush down on the counter in her bathroom, Kari
wandered into her room and crashed onto her bed. The bed was soft and
light, her body sank into it slightly as she lay there. On the verge
of deep sleep, and a dream about TK just beginning to form in her
mind, a sound disturbed her from her peace.
Sitting up groggily, she looked over toward the window just in time to
see a small pebble bounce of the invisible pain and head back to the
ground. Her eyes shot open with excitement, had TK ignored her and
come anyway? She hurried over to the window and opened it carefully.
Glancing down to the ground she wished it would be TK with a guitar,
ready to sing her a love song. But no such site was there. The person
she least expected was below her window... Daisuke. He was dressed in
the tuxedo he had worn to the dinner with TK.
"Kari... I need to talk with you... it's really important," he tried
to whisper loudly.
Kari was hesitant to let him up. All that she really wanted to do was
to go back to bed and dream about her beloved TK. She replied
sleepily, "But you'll ruin your tux if you try to climb up here."
Daisuke laughed, "I don't care, you're worth more to me than any
tuxedo, and I really need to see you anyways!"
He seemed overly excited about something, and he was her friend, so
she couldn't ignore him. "Fine... but try to make it quick... I'm very
tired," she sighed. Daisuke quickly scrambled up the tree and leapt
through the window. "What's so important, Daisuke?"
"You look so beautiful in that nightgown, Kari... so beautiful it
hurts my eyes." He grinned at her; she only returned the look with a
half-hearted smile. "But the main reason I wanted to see you, is to
give you this..." he pulled a small box from his pocket.
Kari reluctantly took the box and opened it, knowing all too well that
it contained something that she could never keep. Inside was the most
beautiful and stunning necklace she had ever seen. The chain was made
of twisted silver and gold. The pendant was a gold heart with silver
lacing, and in its center was a large, heart shaped diamond. It
glittered and shimmered like a tiny star in the moonlight. The room
was slightly illuminated as light dazzled across the room.
"... and tell you that I love you." Davis smiled and waited for her
reaction.
Kari forced a smile and replied, "Oh Daisuke, this is absolutely
gorgeous. But it must have cost a fortune."
"Nothing is too expensive for you, Kari. I would buy the world for
you, were it for sale."
She looked at him, sadness filling her eyes, "This is very sweet,
Daisuke. But I can't accept this..." she closed the box and placed it
on top of her dresser. The dejected look in Daisuke's face was enough
to break her heart.
"Well, why not," he asked sulkily.
"Daisuke, I'm not going to act like you're dumb. I know that you know
about me and TK."
"Yes, I know. What does he have that I don't?"
"I can't explain it, it's like an unbreakable bond we have together."
"If you wanted an exciting man, you should have just stuck with me.
I'm rich, incredibly good looking, great at sports, and very exciting
to be around. What else could you want?"
"I already told you... you are all of those, I don't deny it. But what
TK and I have is special."
"So... there's no way I can ever win your heart?" His voice was no
longer depressed, but cunning.
"I'm sorry... but the most we can ever be is friends. I hope that you
will find what I have someday too."
"Friends, hunh?" He moved to the dresser and picked up the box and
necklace, then placed them in his pocket. Kari just stood where she
was, staring at the ground. Daisuke moved back behind her, "So, if TK
has beaten me before I could even begin, and the most we can ever be
is friends, then there is no way I could ever have you?"
"I'm sorry, Daisuke. There is no way you could ever get me back."
"I disagree," he replied coldly as he wrapped his arm around her head
and covered her mouth with his hand. With incredible strength, he
threw her on the bed and followed... landing hard on top of her. She
tried to scream, but the noise was muffled by Daisuke's hand. He
stared deep into her eyes, his chocolate eyes filled with power and
lust. They were the same color as Taichi's eyes.
She heard the small click of a switchblade and felt a cold piece of
metal push against her throat. "Scream... and I'll kill you... your
brother... and that loser boyfriend of yours." He then planted his
lips on hers and began to kiss her violently. Though she tried to
resist, she was overpowered. His tongue had a salty taste as it
swirled around inside her mouth.
Tears began to form at the corners of her eyes as he began to tear the
nightgown from her body. With an evil premonition, Kari knew what
would happen next. She felt as if she would die inside. Her heart
wanted to explode with tears. The act was pagan and evil, beautiful...
and horrific. A defilement of holy ground in order to show power and
dominance. Blood and tears would poor... there would be no escape from
this hell. Time seemed to slow down... only making the torture of her
attack all the more painful. She would remember every detail of that
moment. It would be etched into her mind for all eternity. The moment
when her friend... someone she trusted... had become a lustful demon.
Kari only had one thought the entire time Daisuke was raping her,
TK... help!
The war had begun... heaven was now under siege... and losing badly to
the first throngs of the deadly attack.
"Now American mafias know how to run a city," Matt laughed as he
reclined in his chair. He, TK and Koushiro were at their apartment,
gathered around a TV. They were watching The Godfather, the favorite
movie of all three.
"I'll say," commented Koushiro, "nobody but nobody messes with those
guys. Hey, we should change our name from the Ishida Gang, to the
Ishida Mafia!"
"Why, what's wrong with the Ishida `gang'?" TK chuckled.
"Man, gang sounds kinda wimpy. You ever seen that movie, The Butter
Cream Gang, or something? A bunch a kids go around helping all the old
people and stuff. We don't do that shit, so why should our group be
classified in the same group as those pussies?"
"Good point," Koushiro added, "that kinda reminds me of the Kamiyas.
The Ishida Mafia versus the Kamiya gang!" All three began laughing.
"I like the sound of that," Matt pondered, "you guys could call me
`Don Ishida.' Then you can kiss my hands every time we meet!"
"All right you guys, calm down," TK ordered. "We need to get back on
track. What are we going to do to the Kamiyas for killing Cody?"
"Don't worry, squirt, Koush and I got it all figured out. We obviously
can't off Daisuke, as much as I'd like to blow the bastard's brains
out. But if we kill him, it'll be an all out war."
"Not to mention the Tokyo police would be all over us," Koushiro
interrupted. "They don't care when some shmoe like Cody gets murdered,
but when it's the Mayor's son... they'd be prodigiously pissed."
"Enough with the big vocabulary, Koush." Matt looked at TK and waved
his arms in explanation, "We can't kill Daisuke, right? So we're going
to get their next big guy instead."
"Kenny-boy?" TK remarked with a smile.
"You got it. I never liked that asshole anyways, it's about time we
pulled him from the gene pool."
"Yeah, Itchijouji sleeps with the fishes, heh!" Koushiro laughed.
"Sounds like a good plan," TK smiled.
"Hey, you shouldn't even be listening to us. I don't wanna get you
involved with any of this, so get the hell outa here!" Matt chuckled
at TK.
"Come on, Matt. I live here, where else would I go?"
"You could go over to that rich chick's house, I'll bet it's better
than sharing an apartment with two other guys," Koushiro replied.
The high-pitched sound of the doorbell filled the room. All three men
stopped smiling and their faces turned grim. "Who the fuck is that at
one in the morning?" Matt said angrily.
"Think it's the Kamiyas?" Koushiro asked as he nodded toward the door
with his head.
"Naw," TK said as he got up from his chair. "They have no idea where
we live, not yet anyways." He plucked his gun from the table and
cocked it, ready to fire.
"Be careful, TK," Matt warned as TK approached the door. TK put his
hand on the doorknob and prepared to open the door. It was times like
this when he wished they had an eyehole.
He quickly opened the door, only to see Kari standing there. She was
wearing the pink bathrobe and shivering violently. The thing that
disturbed TK most was that her face was bruised and one of her lips
was cut. She was sobbing uncontrollably, tears streaming down her
face.
"Kari," he yelled as she fell into his arms, "Matt! Get over here,
fast!" He lifted Kari into his arms and carried her over to the couch.
Matt came rushing up and took one look at her face, "Oh shit!"
TK laid Kari gently down on the couch; she was reluctant to let go of
him. He could barely get her to let go of him. "Kari, what happened?"
TK asked, his voice as upset as Kari's crying.
She still refused to say anything; she just sat holding TK and
whimpering. Koushiro looked at her and said, "God, it looks like she
was mugged."
"Is that what happened?" TK asked urgently. Kari just shook her head,
indicating no. "Please, Kari, you need to tell me what happened to you
so that we can help you," he said in a soothing voice.
"Dai... Dai... he... raped me," she managed to choke out between
tears.
"Daisuke raped you," TK repeated. Kari nodded indicating he was
correct. TK had never felt such rage. How could anyone hurt the most
wonderful woman in the entire world? He felt that if Daisuke were
there, he would have crushed his skull with his bare hands. "I'm gonna
kill that fucker," TK yelled.
Matt intervened, "Koush, go call Jou." Koushiro complied and ran to
the phone. Matt turned to TK, "I know you're pissed, but forget about
Daisuke right now. We need to get Kari to medical attention as soon as
we can."
TK nodded and returned to hugging Kari as lovingly and comfortingly as
he could. "It'll be all right. It'll be all right. I'm here for you."
Matt bent down and looked at Kari, "Why didn't you tell your parents,
or call the police?"
"I was too scared," she choked.
"You don't have anything to be afraid of Kari, you're with people who
care about you. What Daisuke did was wrong, and it wasn't your fault."
Matt was trying his best to comfort the woman his brother loved.
"And," Kari continued, crying harder than ever now, "he said... that
if... if I told anyone, he would... kill... everyone I loved."
TK sat on the plush couch of the small apartment in a decent
neighborhood on the east side of town. All he could do was stare at
the wall, blindly. Matt was sitting next to his brother, trying to
help if that was at all possible. The apartment was owned by a former
member of the gang. His name was Jou Kido. Jou was the medical guy for
the gang a few years back. Of course he was also the moral person of
the gang. He refused to ever kill anyone, at all costs. To kill
someone would contradict his reasons for wanting to become a doctor,
that was his excuse at any rate.
He had always been obsessed with becoming a doctor. Medicine was his
one and only passion. Whenever one of the gang members had gotten hurt
in battle, it was Jou who would make sure they could fight another
day. TK couldn't count the number of times that Jou had plucked
bullets from his flesh and patched him up.
Yet his dream was to leave the streets and become a doctor... it was
an impossible dream. Getting into medical school was the easy part,
but paying for it was the problem.
Jou didn't belong on the street; he was like a snowflake in the Sahara
Desert. That was why Matt and TK had started a secret fund to pay for
his dream. When the day finally came, Matt forced him out of the gang
and threw the money at his feet. Jou was very reluctant to leave,
saying that he could never abandon his friends. It was when Matt
threatened to shoot him that he took the money and began to chase his
dream.
He was now in his third year of medical school at Tokyo University.
Though Jou would be more than happy to treat any of the injured gang
members, he was usually at the hospital 99 percent of the time and
unable to help. It was a divine act of God that they had managed to
get to him on one of his days off.
TK coughed as he stubbed out his cigarette in the makeshift ashtray.
He quickly pulled out another and lit it. Chain-smoking had never been
TK's thing, but today he had nearly gone through a whole pack in the
few short hours since Kari had appeared at the door.
After rushing her to Jou's home, the doctor and Koushiro had taken
Kari to his room for treatment. That had been several hours ago... TK
could only worry why it was taking so long.
"Hey, calm down buddy," Matt tried to say as soothingly as he could.
"Lighten up on the smoking, you know how much Joe hates that. He's
probably going to give you one of his lectures about how bad it is for
you."
"Yeah... sorry," TK replied, his voice sounding sad and far away.
"What's taking so long? I hope that she isn't seriously hurt." His
voice was now frustrated and angry.
"They're probably just talking with her. Raping someone hurts them
more emotionally than it does physically." TK nodded sadly.
The door to Jou's room opened quietly and the two men came out. TK
shot to his feet as the doctor approached him. "She's sleeping now,"
Jou said, his voice both tired and relieved.
"Is she alright?" TK choked as tears formed at his eyes and his throat
quivered with dryness.
"She'll be fine, physically. She has a few minor bruises and cuts on
her body, and some vaginal tearing and bruising, but she should heal
quickly."
"That's good," TK sighed with relief.
"But what I'm most worried about is her mind. This is a very traumatic
experience, and it has the possibility to form into post-traumatic
stress syndrome. She'll most likely need some psychiatric counseling a
few hours a week. I could take care of those sessions... if you want."
"Yes, thank you Jou."
"I would also like her to stay here for a few days, just for
observation. It's probably safer here as well."
"But what about when you have to go to work," Matt asked.
"Well, I'm sure she's safer here than anywhere else. And I'm sure
she'd be fine here by herself. I have some very nice neighbors and
friends who I could have watch the apartment just in case."
"I guess that's what best for her," TK's face became downcast, "and...
what about... what if she's... pregnant?"
"I don't think you have to worry about that very much. Only five
percent of rape victims actually conceive. Many times the body will
reject the fetus and abort it, somehow it knows that the baby isn't
what the mother wants."
"Well, what if she is pregnant, and will have a baby?"
"If so, then she has a few different options. We could abort the baby
for her, or she could carry it to term. Then it would be her choice
whether she wants to give it up to adoption or raise it herself. I
don't like abortions, so I prefer the latter choice."
"Well, I guess that it would be her choice. And I would support her,
whatever she wanted to do." TK turned from the doctor to Koushiro,
"Where is Daisuke right now?"
"I'm not sure where he's at right now, but I'm pretty sure he has
fencing practice at eight this morning."
"Great, I'm going to have a little chat with that raping bastard" TK
pulled his gun from his pocket and checked to make sure it had a full
clip.
"Wait," Matt cried, "TK, please don't do this. I know you're upset,
but if you kill him, you'll have every Kamiya and police officer in
Tokyo after your ass. I'm not even sure how I could help you then."
TK looked hard into his brother's eyes and then hugged him tightly,
"Matt, I have to talk to him. As much as I'd like to blow his brains
out... if I did, it would be almost impossible for Kari and I to be
together. I just have to let him know that he's not going to get away
with this. And I want him to know, that if he ever even thinks of
touching her again... I'll tear his heart out!"
Matt's eyes were full of concern and understanding, "All right, TK. I
can't stop you, but promise me that you won't do anything stupid.
Promise me!"
"I promise, Matt..."
No one seemed to notice the blonde haired boy enter the gym. There
were no more than fifteen people present, all of whom were furiously
fighting each other with weak swords. All of them wore the trademark
white suite that is associated with fencing. Cries of battle and the
smell of sweat were close to overwhelming.
One of the fighters seemed to be far superior in his skills than those
he fought. That was Daisuke. His life on the street had sharpened his
senses to the cold bite of a razorblade. Each move was cunning and
graceful. The air winced in pain as the metal blade ripped through it;
moving so fast it was almost impossible follow its movements. With a
sharp plunge, Daisuke thrust his sword into his opponent's chest. The
loser cried out in pain, for the padding was not enough to stop the
blow of a street god.
Humiliated, the fallen victim crawled away from the victor, who stood
basking in the glory and praise of his teammates. Daisuke pulled off
his helmet and set it on the ground. After taking a long, refreshing
drink from his water bottle, he noticed TK. He looked at him
sadistically, malice in his eyes.
After excusing himself from his teammates, he journeyed over to talk
to the silent ex-gang member. TK had to fight viscously to calm his
fury, to keep himself from tearing Daisuke limb from limb. The trigger
finger of his left hand itched and twitched, pleading to pull the gun
from its holster and unleash its awesome power. His right hand shook
as well, it wanted a cigarette just as much as the other hand wanted
the gun. But TK kept his bearing; he was prepared to face the demon.
"Well, if it isn't TS, how are you today?" Daisuke smirked as he
approached TK. His voice was harsh and raspy, the sound of the hell
from which he came.
"I know what you did to Kari," TK growled.
"And what are you going to do about it, JV? You can't kill me, look at
all the people who could identify you to the police. My father would
make sure that you became the most wanted man in Tokyo."
TK stared with his deep blue, fire filled eyes into Daisuke's jealous
brown ones. Daisuke's ego was just as big as his reputation, yet he
had a sort of base to it. He could walk the talk. Yet he was the kind
of person who would spit in God's face, if it suited his desire. The
urge to disinfect the world of this parasite was all TK could think
of. There was no goodness in him, he was nothing but a greedy, lustful
shell of a man bent on making himself more powerful at the expense of
others. He even thought of blowing the bastard's dick clean off, at
least then he could never rape again, as well as breed his damned
spawn. But these urges were held back by his love for Kari, they would
overcome his evil in the end, and bring forth light.
"If you ever come near Kari again, I'll make sure you rot in Hell."
"And then, sooner or later, you'll be there to keep me company."
"All I want to know... is why you did it. You could have any woman in
the world, why still chase Kari when she's already chosen who she
loves?"
"Because I always get what I want, and that's the way it will always
be. Kari is just confused, she still loves me. You're a lost cause,
some wretched piece of shit that will be a beggar for booze money on
the street corners soon. That is if you're not killed before you can
evolve to a beggar. If Kari were with you, she'd have to spend her
life rotting in a whorehouse, selling her body to poor men on the
street for a few bucks.
No, TA, I'm not jealous of you one bit. I didn't force Kari to have
sex with me last night, she wanted to. She's always wanted me, because
I love her more than anyone could ever love her. It's already been
preordained by God, if there is such a foolish being, that Kari and I
are perfect for each other. But if she chooses you over me, then...
the bitch is yours."
The urge to kill swelled up in TK like a balloon fills with air. To
hear someone speak about the girl he loved in this manor was
unbearable. To condemn her for loving him was like a red-hot prong
burning his heart. Kari was a goddess, or an angel, or a saint, not a
bitch or whore to hate.
Daisuke grinned at the expression on TK's face, he was enjoying every
moment of torture that he could inflict upon the man who had taken
Kari from him. He would kill TK soon, then nothing would stand in his
way. He was invincible.
"Just wait till Taichi hears what you've done. He'll take the gang
away from you and make sure the rest of your life is worthless."
Daisuke burst into laughter, "Go ahead, tell Taichi. Do you think he
has any more power over the gang? No, he abandoned them. I was their
savior. I was the one to take them in when he threw them out. He's
hated by them now, and he's on the current hit list. He's no more a
thorn in my side than a fly."
"I can't talk to you anymore," TK shook his head and turned to leave.
"You should have heard her muffled cries for your help," Daisuke
called after him. TK stopped and turned back glaring at him. "But you
couldn't do anything, you didn't even know she was in trouble. How can
you even say that you love her?"
"Ask yourself that same question."
"Go ahead an leave, TV. But you won't be there the next time. I'll
kill you, your brother, Taichi, his parents, and maybe even her. You
can't protect any of them. Especially not Kari, I'll rape her the next
chance I get," he hissed.
TK's heart filled with hatred for this soulless man. Daisuke was
right, he couldn't always be there to protect Kari, but he could
prevent further danger. Emotionlessly, he grabbed Daisuke gasping by
the neck, and squeezed his neck as hard as he could. Daisuke gasped
and choked as he fought for unattainable air. The victim's chocolate
eyes stared into the attackers cerulean blue eyes, widening as the
event unfolded.
TK pulled the gun from its holster and placed it on the left side of
Daisuke's chest, then pulled the trigger. There was a loud explosion
as the bullet accelerated through Daisuke's chest, ripping a hole in
his heart as it prepared to exit his body. TK continued to pull the
trigger. How many explosions had sounded? He didn't know, he was
completely engulfed in a moment of whiteness. Killing was TK's drug,
and he was badly addicted to it. He had given it up for a time, when
he met Kari, but know it was calling him back. The exhilaration flowed
through his body like water flowing through a fey, sinking ship. He
was in his essence. The look on Daisuke's face brought as much joy to
TK's heart as much as any orgasm ever could. How he had missed this
awesome power of death over life.
Revenge was now taken... Cody could rest in peace, and Kari would fear
no more. But what cost had he paid for revenge? Daisuke's eyes were
twisted and bloodshot, his face frozen in an expression of agony and
terror. Blood cascaded from his open mouth, joining the river that
flowed from the large, gaping hole in his chest... where his black
heart had once been. His body was like a limp rag doll in TK's bone
cracking grip. Then it fell to the ground with a splash as the grasp
was released. The body of what was once Daisuke Motomiya lay unmoving
in an ocean of blood. TK stood as victor over his slain enemy, he felt
no remorse or sorrow, only glory.
Then the whiteness that surrounded him began to fade as the high of
the drug disappeared. The feelings of glory and power were suddenly
dashed to fear and urgency. As his vision cleared, he noticed the
other fencers in the room. Some had dived to the ground while others
had fled in terror. But some still stood where they were, staring at
his face... burning every detail into their memory.
The realization of what had just happened finally hit TK. He was now a
fugitive... a lover lost in exile. That was if he wasn't caught or
killed before he could escape. Almost slipping on the floor covered in
Daisuke's thick, oozing blood, which had drenched TK as well, he ran
out of the gym. He ran as hard as he could, not knowing where to go.
About a mile from scene, he tossed his beloved gun, one that had
killed as many as he had as well as saved his life an infinite amount
of times, into a trash dumpster, and then continued running.
Author's Note: So... how was it? Hopefully it wasn't too painful for
the mind and heart. I'm sure Davis haters loved this chapter. I think
I did Daisuke a great injustice, but it added some spice to the story
and besides, I needed to give TK a reason to kill him. Let me know
what you G-doggies think, I truly appreciate your reviews. Any flames,
and I'll bust a cap up ya ass! Sorry, getting into the fic too much!
