TK opened his eyes with a groan.

He was lying on a cold floor, staring at the high ceiling. It only took a few seconds for him to remember what had happened.

Great. That was clever. Get captured by the Digimon Emperor.

Sitting up, he saw the Digimon Emperor standing a little way away from him, his back turned. TK stood up.

"You're awake."

TK had barely made a noise standing up and it startled him slightly that the Digimon Emperor had heard him.

"Yes," he said warily.

"Good."

He didn't say anything else. He didn't turn round. TK frowned. He'd expected the Digimon Emperor to crow over him, mock him. But he wasn't. Actually, he was making TK feel slightly nervous.

"What do you want?" he demanded at last.

"A lot of things."

TK scowled.

"Cut the crap!" he snapped "You kidnapped me. What do you want me here for?"

The Emperor did not reply. He turned round in a rustle of his cape and stared at TK through his tinted glasses, his mouth pressed together in a thin line.

"What do you want?" TK repeated, getting mad.

"I told you. A lot of things, most of which don't concern you."

He turned and stalked towards the door.

"Where are you going?" TK yelled.

"Out."

"You can't leave me in here!"

"Yes I can."

"Why did you kidnap me?"

The Emperor did not reply. Furious, TK grabbed his arm.

"Don't you dare walk out of here!"

The Emperor turned at stared at him.

"Remove your hand," he said very softly.

TK found himself obeying, chilled by the voice. He'd never exactly seen the Digimon Emperor as so dangerous before. Although he hated to admit it, it scared him. Angry for obeying and for being scared, he clenched his fists, glaring defiantly at the Emperor.

"You've kidnapped me and now you just expect me to stay in here and wait for you to care?"

The Emperor said nothing, just stared at him.

"I kidnapped you," he said at last "Because we have some things to discuss together."

"Then talk."

"I don't think so."

The Emperor moved round him slowly, scrutinising him. TK scowled not liking it. The Emperor smiled. Gently he tugged off his gloves and put them in a pocket somewhere, his eyes fixing on TK's face.

"You said you wanted to talk!" TK yelled, losing patience "So damn it, talk!"

"You're very impatient," the Emperor said "I don't think I'm ready to speak to you yet."

He caught hold of TK's arm and stepped close. TK could suddenly hear his heart pounding in his ears. He trembled, oddly exhilarated but at the same time, terrified.

"I'll talk to you soon," the Emperor murmured, staring into TK's eyes "When we're both ready."

Almost tenderly, the Emperor caressed TK's cheek, running his thumb gently down the side of TK's face. TK thought for one dizzying second that the Emperor was going to kiss him and almost instinctively raised his face. Then the Emperor stepped back, his face tightening. He walked out of the door, closing it quietly behind him. TK glared murderously after him but he didn't want to make a scene. That would let the Digimon Emperor win, something that TK would object to a lot.

He wasn't sure how long he sat there. Eventually, the cold and dark started to get to him. Shivering, he stood up and walked to the door, ready to bang on the door and shout.

The door was unlocked.

TK frowned. Why would the Emperor leave his cell unlocked? Surely he had more sense than that?

Slowly, TK made his way through the base. He was going to find the Emperor and teach him a lesson. Most of the doors he tried to open were locked. The ones which weren't led into rooms that were either empty or contained nothing of any real interest. He saw several Black-Ringed Digimon but they all glanced at him, then ignored him completely. TK continued walking until he found the Emperor. He was sitting on a throne, staring impassively at blank screens.

"You left the door unlocked," TK said softly.

The Emperor said nothing. He didn't move. TK frowned.

"Don't you care?"

"Not really."

TK walked over to him, staring at him. His face was pale and looked odd. TK was struck with a sudden feeling of empathy. He looked so young.

"Why are you holding me here?" he asked, less angrily this time.

"I wanted to capture you Takeru."

TK blinked. No one ever called him Takeru unless he was in big, big trouble.

"I'm TK," he said instinctively.

"That's your nickname."

"Yeah, but it's still my name," TK said.

"Only friends call you by nicknames," the Emperor said softly "We aren't friends."

"No," TK agreed.

There was a silence. The Emperor abruptly stood up and walked over to a computer keypad. He tapped something into it. A slot opened and a flannel came out. He walked over to TK, who stepped back.

"Relax," the Digimon Emperor said quietly "I'm not going to do anything to you. I'm just going to remove the mark on your face."

"What mark?"

"The mark I put on you so you could move through my base safely," the Emperor said quietly "Now hold still."

He rubbed the flannel gently over TK's cheek. When he drew it back, TK saw strawberry pink stuff on it. Carrying it over to the slot, the Emperor threw it inside and closed it. He tapped in another code. The slot opened. This time, two glasses filled with a red liquid were there. The Emperor walked over and handed one calmly to TK. TK was beginning to feel very uneasy. He didn't know what was expected of him.

"You can sit down if you like."

"I'd rather not," TK said.

"Please yourself."

The Digimon Emperor sat down and stared at him. TK felt even more uneasy than before. The Digimon Emperor sipped from his glass, keeping his eyes on TK all the time. Without really noticing what he was doing, TK drained his glass. The liquid burned his throat but he barely noticed, still trying to work out what the Digimon Emperor wanted.

"I don't understand what you want," he said at last.

The Emperor stood up and moved away from him, his hands clasped behind his back. TK stared at the back of his head, wishing he knew what was going on. It made him feel uneasy, not knowing why the Digimon Emperor had him imprisoned here. Not knowing what he wanted. Sitting in silence.

"You don't understand what I want."

TK blinked. Was the Digimon Emperor stating or wondering or repeating?

"That's what I said," he said after a moment.

"What does everyone want Takeru? What do you want?"

"To go home," TK said.

"Not right this minute," the Digimon Emperor said, a trace of annoyance in his voice "I mean all the time. When you're alone in your safe little home, thinking. What do you want then?"

"I....I don't know," TK stammered.

"Then try an easier question. What does everyone want? The basic needs of life?"

"Food. Water. Family. Friends. Shelter," TK said slowly.

"Yes."

TK looked at him.

"Some people want more than that," the Emperor said "Some want more. Some get more. Some don't even have those. And some....some don't need all those things because they have power. You don't understand power, do you Takeru?"

"I do," TK said.

"Really Takeru?"

The Emperor turned to him. He looked pitying.

"No," he said "You don't. You couldn't possibly understand power, true power. You couldn't understand what drives us to find it, hold it, use it. You couldn't know what it's like to wield power, understand the fires that fuel us."

TK stared at him. The Digimon Emperor was passionate about what he was saying. He believed it. TK could see that. And it was....

TK swallowed.

"Power is okay," he said softly "But not evil power! Not dark power!"

"What other sort of power is worth wielding?" the Emperor asked.

"The powers of hope and friendship and light," TK said quietly.

The Digimon Emperor shook his head.

"That isn't power," he said "Not true power. Not like I have."

"You don't have power!" TK said angrily "You just skulk around in a base, enslaving innocent Digimon and feeling lonely!"

"I am not lonely!"

"Then what did you want me for!"

"I wanted to talk with you."

"And what's that if not being lonely?" TK demanded.

"I wanted to test you."

TK blinked.

"What?"

"From what I've seen," the Digimon Emperor said quietly "You're a 'good guy'. You bear the Crest of Hope. You hate evil, don't you Takeru?"

TK nodded, frowning. None of this conversation made any sense to him.

"Don't you think that there's evil in everyone though?"

TK considered.

"Balance is okay," he said at last "Balance is needed. You have to have balance or it doesn't work. But being evil....being truly evil....that's bad."

"So you don't claim to be all good then?"

"No," TK said after a moment "I don't. I can control the bad parts of me though."

"So can I," the Digimon Emperor said quietly "We just control them in different ways."

"You don't control them!" TK said "You unleash them!"

"It's a different form of control though isn't it?"

TK blinked. Actually, that was almost a good point. It would be a better one if TK understood what was going on. His head was beginning to swim slightly. He just wanted to understand.

Not thinking, he stepped closer to the Emperor. The Emperor stared at him.

"Can you control the darkness inside you Takeru?"

"Yes!" TK said.

The Digimon Emperor smiled and shook his head.

"I don't think so," he said "You can't control something you don't understand, that you've never touched. Have you ever touched the darkness inside you Takeru? Felt it? Touched it? Tested it?"

"Tested it?"

TK was beginning to feel that he was losing his grip on the situation.

"Do you understand what you could control?"

"I don't want to control in the way you mean," TK said slowly "I want to keep it hidden. So it can't hurt anybody."

"And what happens when it explodes?" the Digimon Emperor asked quietly "Because it will Takeru. I had the darkness buried inside me once. But it came out of me and I accepted my destiny."

"It...I won't let it explode."

"How could you stop it?"

"By...by being in control! By making sure that the light in me always wins!" TK said. "Haven't you ever wanted to be light yourself?"

"No."

TK frowned.

"Then why am I here?"

"To test you. Like I said."

TK shook his head, partly to clear it.

"You should let me help you," he said "You could be good - "

"I don't want to be good!"

"You do!" TK said "I know you do!"

"I'm happy."

"You aren't," TK said "I can tell."

"I am!"

TK stepped closer, reaching for the Emperor's arm. He twitched away but TK hung on.

"Why do you want to be evil?"

"Why do you want to be good?"

The two of them stared at each other. The Emperor shook his head eventually.

"I'm happy TK," he said "I've been good and evil. Touched both. I know who I am, who I want to be. What about you?"

TK looked at him.

"You called me TK," he said.

The Digimon Emperor nodded. Reaching out, he began to gently caress TK's cheek again. TK blinked, startled.

"What are you doing?"

The Digimon Emperor looked slightly startled, as though it had been unconscious. He removed his hand, turning away. TK frowned. He didn't want that to stop. Reaching out, he took the Digimon Emperor's arm again.

"Do I repulse you?" the Digimon Emperor asked softly.

"No," TK said, startled.

"I'm evil."

"That doesn't make you repulsive," TK said slowly.

"That's not what your friends would say."

TK wasn't sure. He didn't think that the Emperor was repulsive.

Not at all repulsive.

"You aren't repulsive," he whispered, unconsciously tightening his grip on the Digimon Emperor's arm.

"Have you ever wanted to touch evil TK? Ever wanted to release the evil inside yourself just once?"

"No?"

"Not even if the outlet could be quite....pleasant?" the Digimon Emperor murmured.

"I don't...think so," TK said slowly.

Once again, the Digimon Emperor started to caress his cheek. TK swallowed. Oddly enough, he didn't feel at all confused any more. He knew what the Digimon Emperor wanted. He didn't mind.

He tilted his face up willingly, hopefully.

"Haven't you ever wanted to touch good?" he whispered.

The Emperor kissed him. It was a delicate, uncertain kiss. TK responded, slipping his arms round the Emperor's waist. The kiss suddenly grew firmer, more violent. TK responded, letting the parts of him that he always hid, all the darkness that countered his light flow out of it's floodgates, into his skin, controlling him as he let the Digimon Emperor pull him to his bedroom.

Ken pushed TK down onto the bed and kept kissing him, biting at TK's lower lip. TK kissed him passionately back, his fingers digging painfully into his shoulders. Ken quickly began to tug off TK's clothes, enjoying this rather a lot. TK practically ripped off Ken's clothes, kissing him and biting at him. Ken was slightly startled at the fire he'd unleashed but decided that it didn't really matter. Reaching between TK's legs, he started to stroke him roughly. TK moaned and bucked, biting at Ken's neck violently. Ken laughed and kept stroking. enjoying TK's almost painful nips. TK groaned and came quickly. He continued kissing Ken, barely noticing as Ken lubricated him and then entered him. He yelled when Ken started to thrust and Ken couldn't tell how much he was enjoying it or not. But he didn't seem to be caring that much. Not about anything. Ken came inside him but continued kissing him, enjoying the heat. Besides, TK was hard again and Ken could think of lots of other things that he'd like to try out on TK.

"Want to keep going?" he hissed in TK's ear.

TK nodded. Ken laughed and rolled them over so TK was on top of him.

"Then you have your fun TK."

* * * *

Ken looked down at TK who was now sleeping peacefully in his arms. Who would have thought that Takeru Takaishi was such a sleeping dragon?

It was probably time to wake him up now. TK needed to go home.

"Wake up. Come on. Wake up."

TK's eyes fluttered open. Then they got very big in his face. Ken scrambled out of bed and coolly began dressing. He knew TK was watching him.

"If you want to go home, you should dress," he said, keeping his voice extra-cold.

"You.....I...."

"Is there something you want to say?" Ken asked.

He heard TK begin to dress.

"Did that mean anything to you? All that stuff you said?"

It was a tiny, tiny whisper.

Ken laughed.

"Of course not you fool!" he said "Quite frankly, I can't believe you fell for it! I had more faith in you Takeru."

He put empathises on TK's full name. TK didn't make a sound but when Ken turned round, the boy's shoulders were shaking slightly.

"Oh grow up!" he said mockingly "You enjoyed it. I had a....pleasant time. So what's your problem?"

"You lied to me."

"I'm evil. What were you expecting?" Ken enquired "Besides, you were stupid enough to believe me."

TK didn't look at him. He didn't say a word as Ken pushed him out and made him use his computer to go home. He looked white and wobbly.

Ken watched him down-load, then turned the computer off and grabbed his notepad. He felt exhausted. He'd fill this in quickly and then he'd have a well deserved nap.

"Takeru Takaishi. Easiness - 9. Little bastard was a little harder than anticipated. Good looks....hm. He's a little gangly but I'll give him a 7½. Value of amusement OUT of bed.....7½. Amusement IN bed - oh, he's impressive. I think he gets an 9½ for that! Small, medium, large, extra-large, bastard or tripod? He's a medium bordering on large. Kissing....9. Very good! Techniques.....9½! Other points of interest....values even more amusing than Iori's. Is a demon when aroused. Can't take his drink. That stuff went right to his head! Total.....Values get 5, demon factor gets 5 and the drink thing is 1. Right, that's.....65. Well done TK."

He didn't even bother to consider what it meant. Re-hiding his notebook out of habit, he flopped on the bed and was asleep in two minutes flat.

End of Part 8.

This isn't the end by the way. There's more to come!
