Chapter One: Shipwrecked
It was a sunny midday and quite serene. Davis (age 24) stood there on the shores of what was an unknown island, looking upon the seawaters crashing on the shores of the beach and up against his feet. He was able to feel the breeze blow across his face as he stood there thinking about how he ended up finding himself along with two others with him stranded on the island of which is evidently uninhabited with no other people except to the three of them.
“I don't believe this,” cried Yolei (age 25),” We're stranded, all alone and with no way of contacting civilization!!”
Yolei and Kari (age 23) were searching through the supplies found on the escape boat up on shore they used to escape from the sinking ship that almost claimed theirs and Davis' life. So far they found an emergency first aid kit and two rowing paddles and two fishing rods. They soon came across an electronic device but upon inspection, they came to see that the device had been damage during the chaos.
“Damn it,” Kari swore in frustration, “Our only means of making any form of contact with anyone outside this island has be broken!”
“Relax, will you already,” Davis said.
“Relax,” Kari blinked, “Relax?! How can we possibly relax under these conditions!?”
“We're still alive aren't we,” Davis retorted, “So we should at least be happy about that; especially after how we ended up stranded like this.”
“Happy,” Yolei yelled, “Do you have goggles for brains?!”
“We're stuck here with no way off the island,” Kari added angrily, “We have no one to help us, not even our own Digimon partners!!”
Davis tried to calm the two young women down as he himself tried to stay calm while trying to deal with the present situation of being shipwrecked on a uninhabited island with two women who seem to be on the verge of breaking down.
“Listen,” Davis interjected, “Yelling and screaming won't do any good! I'm just as upset as you both are about all this.”
Looking to his left at the small escape boat they used to escape the danger they were in last night, Davis went over and examined the engine and came to acknowledge that the fuel tank was totally empty.
“It's official…,” Davis sighed, “The fuel tank is totally empty and gone.”
“Oh that's terrific news,” Kari remarked sarcastically, “Any other grand news you'd like to tell us?”
“Look I'm doing the best I can here,” Davis retorted, “But there's really little that can be done now.”
“So what can we do,” Yolei shouted, “Huh!? If anything I didn't plan for my vacation getaway to end up stranded here on this cursed island of nowhere!”
“Yolei, get a grip and stop complaining,” Davis said, “I'm sure that at this moment the others are most likely looking for us.”
“If so,” Kari replied, “How do you suppose they'll soon find us?”
Davis sighed, “...I don't know really. When they'll find us I don't know either.”
Yolei asked, “...So what are we suppose to do now?”
“First off,” Davis said, “It's best that we find somewhere we can reside until...”
“Reside,” Kari cut in, “Reside where?!”
“There's nothing here to reside in,” Yolei exclaimed
“Will you both SHUT UP?!!”
The two girls quieted after Davis yelled at the both of them. Davis continued: “Listen we can't stay here like this and it's best that we find shelter until we can come up with something!! I really don't think that staying here out in the opening like this is very advisable! So let's take what we can and start off away from here!”
Taking the first aid kit, Davis started off away from the boat with Kari and Yolei following close by each carrying a fishing rod. Going into the jungle of the island, the trio began they journey in search of a place to stay in. Davis momentarily looked behind him and saw that both Yolei and Kari were sobbing lightly with a few tears coming down their faces. At that point, Davis stopped and turned to the both of them.
Apologetically, Davis said, “Listen Kari and Yolei...I'm sorry for yelling at you both. That was uncalled for and...”
Yolei, drying away her tears, said, “It's OK. It's not your fault we're in this mess.”
Kari, also drying away her tears, added: “That's right. Besides, we wouldn't be alive now if it weren't for you Davis. We owe that much.”
“Don't mention it,” Davis assured, “That's what friend are for, right?”
There was a brief moment of silence between the trio till Davis decided to speak again.
“Listen I know that this isn't very difficult for you both to bare. If anything it's not like our earlier adventures in the DigiWorld where we had our Digimon with us all the time.”
“So now we're really on our own now,” Yolei asked in a low voice.
Kari sighed, “......”
“Unfortunately so,” Davis stated, “But if we want to survive here on this island then we have to stuck and work together. Are you in?”
Both girls nodded.
“Good,” Davis said, “Now let's continue on our way.”
With that the trio resumed their course in their search for shelter.
How did Davis, Kari and Yolei end up shipwrecked and trapped on an unknown, uninhabited island in the middle of the Pacific Ocean? And what will become of them? Find out next time.
