DIGIMON TAMERS RECONFIGURED

Disclaimer: I haven't owned it for the last seven chapters, why would I own it now? Holding a meeting to discuss the threat. The meeting turned into a major fight between Vaccine and Virus types. Then it just became a fight, as Alice McCoy showed up with an army of evil Digimon. Adam, a new Tamer from Canada, showed up with Darkexveemon and helped Ryo and Strikedramon battle back the threat. They left for the real world, but they didn't realize the Sovereigns were missing!

THEME

"The Ice Queen" (The invasion begins! Ruki's second partner.)

(Jeri and Bakemon are going through a box of old toys and such in her room.)

Jeri: I really don't know why I keep some of this.

(Jeri tosses out a ball, some blocks, and a fashion doll, then stops, upon discovering something.)

Bakemon: What is it?

(Jeri pulls out the puppet)

Jeri: (using her `puppet' voice, but not putting it on) Bad!

Bakemon: I don't understand, why did you stop at this?

Jeri: It just brings back so many memories. Most of them bad.

Bakemon: What do you mean?

Jeri: It reminds me of everything that I lost. My mother, Leomon, everything.

Bakemon: Then why do you even keep it around?

Jeri: I can't explain why, it's like it has some kind of spell on me. Like it has a mind of its own.

(Flashback to "Janyu's Ark")

When we first came across the Chaos, it urged me to touch a tiny piece that landed nearby.

(End flashback)

Jeri: Had I not done that, there wouldn't have been a threat to the Real World after the Devas. But I did. The Chaos turned into a clone of me, and I was trapped by the D-Raper

Bakemon: You mean D-Reap…

Jeri: I mean what I said.

Bakemon: Then let me deal with this.

Jeri: I can't allow you to destroy it. Maybe there's a spell on me, but whatever it is, I can't let you do that.

[Takato: Digimodify! Break activate!

(The word "Commercial" is written in green on a black screen)

Computerized Voice: Digimon will be right back.]

COMMERCIALS

[Terriermon: Momentai! We're back!]

(Fade in on Rika sitting in front of the television. There is a bored look in her eyes.)

Male Voice: (from the TV) Jack, we don't need to know if you stuck it in his rectum.

Flamboyant Male Voice: (from the TV) Rectum? I didn't even touch `im

(Laughtrack)

Rika: This is supposed to be funny? This is absolutely terrible.

Renamon: (OS) Then why are you watching it?

(Renamon fades in)

Rika: There's nothing better on.

Renamon: So why not turn it off?

Rika: Because I don't want to face my mother

Female voice: (from the TV) Can't you get anything straight?

FMV (`Jack'): (from the TV) How long have you known me again?

(Laughtrack)

(Rika's breath becomes visible)

Rika: Mom, turn the heater back up.

Rumiko: (OS) I didn't touch it Rika. Maybe your `Guardian Angel' is playing a trick on you.

Rika: Renamon's right here.

Rumiko: Then I can't help you.

Rika: What could it…

(Frost starts forming on the television screen)

Rika: What the…

(The frost forms the very familiar face of Icedevimon)

Rika: NO!

(Rika wipes the frost off the screen)

Rumiko: What's wrong?

Rika: (heavy irony) A terrible character just appeared on the screen.

(Laughtrack is heard)

(Cut to Ashley lying in bed, shaking and screaming "No, don't do this" in her sleep. She wakes up with a jolt)

Ashley: Don't!

(Terriermon, Lopmon, Impmon, Henry and Suzie are in the room)

Ashley: What are you doing here?

Impmon: We came in ta make sure ya weren't bein' slowly tortured.

Terriermon: After that we more or less sat around watching "Nightmare part 12". I offered to make some popcorn, but…

Impmon: Ya had da dream again, didn't ya?

Henry: What dream?

Ashley: No, it was worse.

Impmon: What could be worse dan dat?

Henry: Worse than what?

Ashley: (ignoring Henry) Memories.

Henry: What dream, what happened, do I even exist anymore?

Ashley: I'm not comfortable talking about it, particularly with Suzie in the room.

Suzie: What, I'm not completely innocent. I know more than you think.

Henry: Really?

Suzie: Yeah, I know about your pictures.

Henry: (panicky) What do you know?

Suzie: You threw them out because you didn't like how you looked in them. Then you told dad you didn't get them.

Henry: (relieved) Oh, SCHOOL pictures.

Suzie: What did you think I meant?

Henry: Nothing. Anyways, Suzie, why don't you go downstairs and play a game with Terriermon, Lopmon and Impmon?

Impmon: Play a game? Do I look like da kind ta… (realizes what Henry's doing) Oh, I get it. C'mon let's go you three.

(Suzie, Terriermon, Lopmon and Impmon leave the room.)

Henry: Now, what's this dream.

Ashley: It starts with me alone in the park…

(cut to Ryo's house. Takato is there, getting some things set up)

Takato: I appreciate your letting me stay here.

Ryo: No problem. I'm sure if the roles were reversed you'd do the same for me. Besides, I know how it feels to lose parents.

Takato: But your parents are alive. They're in this house right now.

Ryo: That doesn't mean I didn't lose them long ago and enter a strange world of disbelief. Only in my case, I couldn't believe the world.

Takato: What do you mean by that?

Ryo: I mean, somehow I ended up in Odaiba.

Takato: I still don't get it.

Ryo: While the "Internet Battle" was going on. I somehow got there and saw Omnimon.

Takato: Then, that means Adventure actually happened. And that could mean… shit! I have to warn Jeri!

Ryo: What about?

Takato: Her new partner!

(Cut back to Henry and Ashley. Henry is looking stunned at what he's just been told.)

Henry: No wonder you've been avoiding me recently. I really don't know what could have been worse than that in your memory.

Ashley: Well…

(Cut to Suzie and the Digimon in the kitchen. Terriermon and Lopmon are both in `Princess Pretty Pants' dresses, Impmon is using his "Badda Boom" to heat tea.)

Impmon: Dis jest plain sucks. While she's explainin' her life story ta him up dere, we're stuck makin' asses outta ourselves fer da amusement of a little goil! I mean dis is humiliating!

Terriermon: You think that's humiliating? At least you're not stuck in this stupid dress!

Suzie: Tea will be ready in a minute (old voice) Pwincess Pwetty Pants.

Terriermon: See? This is just malicious!

Henry: (OS) Holy shit! That fucking son-of-a-bitch! How could he do that?

Impmon: Geez, he's actin' like she jest told him Daddy used ta…

(cut back to Henry and Ashley)

Henry: I can't believe anyone would do that to his own daughter.

Ashley: Believe it. I had to.

Henry: No wonder you ran away. You were how old when that happened?

Ashley: About Suzie's age.

Henry: (yelling) That fucking heartless piece of shit!

Impmon: (OS) Yer traumatizin' Suzie down here.

Terriermon: (OS) Keep it up. The more shocked she is the less she can do to us.

Henry: Terriermon!

Ashley: To be fair, it only happened a few times, and he was completely drunk…

Henry: I don't care! There is no excuse!

(Cut to Calumon sitting in the park by the ruins of Guilmon House. (A/N: Read the narrative version of Ch 1 coming soon) The left-most triangle on his head starts to glow.)

Calumon: It's coming…

(Cut to the Digital World, where Alice's army is lined up waiting to ascend into the real world. As we pan over the army, Alice's voice is heard giving instructions.)

Alice: (OS) Attention, the invasion will begin in ten minutes. Let nothing stand in your way. Remember, the Tamers' Digimon are all mere Champions at best. Remember also that Calumon must not survive the attack…

(Pan over to a rock, which Icedevimon is standing behind and hearing everything)

Icedevimon: I have to do something.

Zhuqiaumon: (VO) Will you protect them?

Icedevimon: Yes.

Zhuqiaumon: Then take this.

(A Red digicore flies out of nowhere towards Icedevimon. It sucks him inside and heads towards the sphere of the real world.)

[Guilmon: Time for a snack, but we'll be right back]

[(Image: spinning logo)

C Narrator: Next time on Digimon

(Image: The Tamers fighting Alice's army)

C Narrator: The fight goes on…

(Image: Growlmon and Satamon attempting to fight a Phantomon, who just takes their attacks and throws back more)

C Narrator: The Tamers are on the losing side…

C Narrator: And it may take a miracle to save them…

Takato: It's not over yet!

C Narrator: Don't miss the next all new Digimon.]

[Impmon: Whaddayaknow, we're back!]

(We see an unfamiliar house. Panning through the window, we see Adam setting up his room.)

Adam: Who'd have thought moving would be so difficult?

(A boy with reddish-brownish hair comes into the room)

Boy: So, we're in Japan now.

Adam: I've known that for a week, Jake.

Jake: (voice starting to go high) You know what comes from Japan?

Adam: You've only reminded me twelve times today…

Jake: (high pitched, insane) Pokeymon. Khwooooow!

Adam: Look, could you just this once leave me alone?

(Jake sees Darkveemon sitting still in a corner)

Jake: What's this? A Pokeyman doll?

Adam: Actually, it's a Digimon.

Jake: (same insane pitch) You sure are cool, Adam! Khwooow!

(Jake leaves the room, Adam slams the door behind him)

Adam: (calling down) Mom, can I please get a lock?

Darkveemon: Who was that?

Adam: My annoying little brother Jake.

(Cut to a harbour, where Digimon start appearing.)

(Cut to Ryo's house, where Guilmon and Monodramon are going nuts)

Takato: What could that be?

(Takato and Ryo's D-Powers start beeping)

Ryo: Looks like we've got trouble.

Takato: Anything else?

Ryo: It's clear across Tokyo. We'll have to fly over.

Takato: How? Guilmon can't fly until…

Monodramon: Should we?

Ryo: Let's get outside first.

(The Tamers and Digimon step outside)

Ryo: Now, let's do it! Digimodify! Digivolution activate!

DIGIVOLUTION

Monodramon: Monodramon, digivolve to…

(Monodramon digivolves to Strikedramon)

Strikedramon: Strikedramon!

Strikedramon: I can't carry all of you.

Ryo: That's what this is for. Digimodify! Gargantuan activate!

(Strikedramon grows to three times his normal size)

Strikedramon: That's better. Climb aboard.

(The others get onto Strikedramon and they take off)

(Cut to the Nonako house)

Rumiko: …So I think this could be my big break.

Rika: (unenthusiastic) Great.

(Rika's D-Power goes off)

Rika: Mom, as much as I'd love to hear which designer you've sold yourself to this week, I need to save the world.

Rumiko: Fine. I understand how much more important that is than my upcoming work for Takenouchi Designs.

Rika: Takenouchi? Even I know they're supposed to be the next big thing. Congratulations.

(Rika runs out the door holding her cards in one hand and her D-Power in the other)

(Cut to Adam sitting at the dinner table with his family)

Mother: Now, I know it's a bit of a change, but I'm sure we'll do just fine here.

Adam: I know. I've only been here a week and I already have more friends than I did in Canada.

Jake: Yeah, one.

(Adam's D-Power goes off. Thinking quickly, Adam picks it up, pushes a button to stop the beeping and starts speaking into it.)

Adam: Hello (pause) Oh, Ryo, it's you. (pause) Oh, right. The park. I'll be right there. (pause) Yeah, I'll bring that stuffed Darkveemon.

(Adam pushes a random button on the D-Power, acting like he's hanging up a cell-phone)

Adam: That was Ryo, calling to remind me that I was meeting him and his friends in the park. I've just got to get a few things.

(Adam runs to his room and runs back out with Darkveemon and a set of cards)

Adam: Well, see you.

(Adam runs outside)

Adam: Okay, if I remember what Ryo told me this signal's coming from…

Ryo (OS): Adam, up here!

(Adam looks up and sees the giant Strikedramon flying overhead)

Adam: Forget it. Digimodify! Digivolution activate!

DIGIVOLUTION

Darkveemon: Darkveemon, digivolve to…

(Darkveemon digivolves to Darkexveemon)

Darkexveemon: Darkexveemon!

Adam: Follow that Strikedramon!

(Adam and Darkexveemon take off following Ryo and Takato)

(Cut to the harbour, where everyone has arrived. Strikedramon returns to normal size after the flight)

Adam: Wasn't there supposed to be something here?

Ryo: I thought so too.

Guilmon: Still smell it…

(The Digital Fog comes up and surrounds the group)

Ryo: Guess this is as good a time as any. This is Adam. He's a new Tamer.

Adam: Hey, I saw most of you on TV when you saved the world. Who'd have thought Jell-O could be so much trouble?

Takato: Now's not the time for lame jokes.

(As if to illustrate Takato's point several Digimon appear out of the fog)

Takato: (identifying one of the Digimon) Phantomon, Ultimate level Phantom Digimon. Attacks are Soul Reaver and Shadow Scythe

Rika: Got a Ladydevimon here.

Henry: Marine Devimon. Ultimate level Sea Animal Digimon. Attacks are ???

Ashley: Skull Satamon. No relation to Satamon. Ultimate level Demon Man Digimon. Attack is Nailbone.

Ryo: And we've got a Dragomon over here. Ultimate level Sea Animal Digimon. Attacks are Tentacle Flapping and Tentacle Claw.

Kazu: (to Henry) Sounds like your kind of Digimon, Hentai Henry.

(Henry ignores Kazu)

Henry: Look, we need to fight these things. Everyone, we should be able to double-team them.

(Phantomon attacks Guilmon and Impmon)

Kazu: Looks like the first team's been chosen for us already.

Takato: What should we do?

Ashley: What, it's not obvious enough?

Takato: Right.

Takato/Ashley: Digimodify!

(The data on the cards in scanned)

Takato/Ashley: Digivolution activate!

DIGIVOLUTION

Guilmon: Guilmon, digivolve to…

Impmon: Impmon, digivolve to…

(The two transform to their Champion stages)

Growlmon: …Growlmon!

Satamon: …Satamon!

(The two are blindsided by a Marinedevimon)

Kazu: Okay, Kenta. If Marineangemon's ever going to be useful this would be a damn good time for it.

Marineangemon: Pi pu.

(A heart-bubble flies towards Marinedevimon. He becomes trapped in the bubble.)

Kazu: I knew that thing had to be good for something. Guardromon?

Guardromon: Guardian Barrage!

(Several missiles are fired at Marinedevimon. They end up destroying the bubble, but not the Digimon.)

Kazu: I think we screwed up.

Kenta: We?

Marinedevimon: Dark Water!

(Guardromon's head is smashed by the attack)

Kazu: Looks like Marineangemon may prove useful after all. I need some of that healing power here.

(Marineangemon nods, then fires a red heart bubble at Guardromon and another blue one at Marinedevimon)

Kazu: Why is it red?

Kenta: Each of the attributes has a primary colour attributed to it. Red for Viruses, yellow for Data, and Blue for Vaccine. Marineangemon, however, is the rare "Variable" type, which means he's whatever he needs to be. The colour of his Kahuna Waves determines what they do to each attribute. If a yellow Data Wave was fired at a Virus type it would add to his code, since it would be like winning a battle against the inferior type. It would not, however, heal him. The other two you can see in effect right now. The Virus Wave is healing the equally viral Guardromon and the Vaccine Wave is damaging Marinedevimon.

Kazu: Okay, slow down Izzy. No wonder you don't talk much.

(Marinedevimon breaks out of the bubble)

Marinedevimon: Such a pathetic Mega can't defeat me. Dark Water!

(Marineangemon is knocked backwards.)

Kazu: Is there anything you forgot about Variables?

Kenta: Yeah, they're not very well suited to battle.

(Marineangemon flickers, and then loses data to revert to his Rookie stage, which isn't seen as he plunges into the water)

Kazu: Whoa, is he…

Kenta: No, if he was then I'd just have a blank screen on my D-Power.

(A Gomamon surfaces in the water)

Kenta: Is that you, old buddy?

(Gomamon nods)

Kazu: In all stages, the strong silent type.

Kenta: What do you expect? He's barely conscious! Digimodify! Restoration activate!

(Gomamon is healed, but still slightly out of it)

Gomamon: You look kind of different, Joe…

(Gomamon collapses)

Kazu: Dude, did you hear what I did?

Kenta: Now's not the time. Digimodify! Stamina activate!

(Gomamon gets up)

Gomamon: Sorry Kenta, I was kind of out of it and…

Kenta: No problem. You did enough to him anyways.

(Kazu looks at the area)

Kazu: I'll say. No sign of him. Looks like that last attack took everything out of him.

(Cut to Rika and Kyubimon, who have been cornered by Marinedevimon)

Rika: Okay, we can handle this, right?

Kyubimon: I've fought tougher Digimon as Viximon.

Marinedevimon: You talk big, but let's see you fight.

Kyubimon: If you insist. Dragon Wheel!

(Kyumimon rolls into a flaming wheel and launches herself at Marinedevimon)

Marinedevimon: What do you really think that's going to do?

(Rika waits until Kyubimon is inches from Marinedevimon, then…)

Rika: Digimodify! Power activate!

(Kyubimon crashes into Marinedevimon with double the expected power.)

Rika: You made a mistake going after me, pal.

Marinedevimon: I think the mistake is yours. Dark Water!

(The attack knocks Kyubimon into Rika. Kyubimon dedigivolves.)

Renamon: Rika, I'm sorry…

Marinedevimon: Had enough yet? Dark Water!

(The attack flies towards Rika)

Rika: Renamon, do something!

[Rika: It is in the cards that Digimon will be back]

COMMERCIALS

[Takato: Heads TV, Tails homework. Looks like it's back to Digimon]

Rika: Renamon, hurry up!

???: Frozen Wing!

(The water attack is frozen)

Rika: What the…

(Icedevimon swoops down)

Rika: You're kidding, right?

Icedevimon: I told you before, we are meant to be partners.

Rika: Look, I don't believe that. Everyone chose his or her own partner and I chose Renamon.

Icedevimon: Yes, but were you supposed to choose?

(Rika is unsure of what this means)

Icedevimon: Never mind. He's just about recovered. Could you… help me a bit?

Rika: How?

Icedevimon: Just pull out the first card you find.

(Rika pulls out a card, which is a Training Grips card)

Rika: Well, that's completely useless.

(The card changes before Rika's eyes. The new image is of an Agumon and a Gabumon with an arrow above the Agumon)

Rika: What the…

Icedevimon: You know what that is, right?

Rika: Is this… a Partner Swap card?

Icedevimon: More or less.

Rika: Let's do this then. Digimodify! Alternative Activate!

Icedevimon: Good. Now, give me whatever you can.

Rika: No problem. Digimodify! Power Activate!

Icedevimon: Time to say goodnight. Avalanche Claw!

(The attack hits the already damaged Marinedevimon and deletes him)

Rika: One down, four to go.

(The other Tamers come running up to Rika)

Ryo: Did you beat him?

Rika: Yes.

Takato: Nice. After that hit Renamon took, I didn't think she had enough in her to take him, but…

Icedevimon: She didn't.

Takato: Ah, man. You again?

Rika: Hey, he just saved us from Marinedevimon.

Icedevimon: I can hardly take all the credit. I wouldn't have been able to without the extra power.

Rika: Well, I guess it's time for you to be heading back now.

Icedevimon: Not as long as the bond exists.

(Rika takes the Swap card out again)

Rika: I could fix that easily.

Icedevimon: Wait, think about it. You can be the only one with two partners.

Henry: Am I the only one who thought that sounded kind of… wrong?

Kazu: Of course you are, Hent…

Henry: If you say that one more time I'll…

Kazu: Hey, calm down. It's just a joke.

Guardromon: A joke that is growing old fast.

Kazu: Whose side are you on?

Icedevimon: Back to more pressing issues, Rika would you have any problem with my staying around?

Rika: I don't think so. Welcome aboard… I guess.

(Alice's voice comes out of nowhere)

Alice: They may have one more Digimon, but they're still all Champions and they don't have their healer anymore. Regroup and destroy them!

Rika: It's starting to look like one of those days.

Narrator: Well, another Digimon's never a bad thing, but how can the Tamers hope to stand up to Alice's army? Maybe we'll see on the next Digimon: Digital Monsters.

Eight episodes and I ha run out of ideas. I have everything for a 51-episode season planned out (albeit not in the same insanely meticulous way which eventually killed Darkened Hopes since the plot was so firmly in my head I couldn't work around it for writers' block). I know where I'm going with this, and you'll be amazed by some of the stuff that comes up.

Yes, Jake is modeled after my own little brother Jake. He really does use that word (if you can call it that) although not as frequently as in this fic.

Another chapter, another battle, another sweet new card, another plot twist. And, of course, more foreshadowing on future revelations. And not the one which was already made blatantly obvious in the last chapter either.

Okay, by now everyone who's read this fic (and possibly some people on Mars who haven't) has figured out that the Digidestined are getting into it eventually. Since it's so obvious, I used a fair amount of references and even some name-dropping in this chapter. (Marineangemon/Gomamon made for about three of these on his own). Oh, and I know Marineangemon isn't a Variable type, but I just couldn't resist that part with the attributes and colours. Therefore, I twisted canon slightly to create an important point.

I apologize ahead of time for the fairly straightforward formulaic filler episodes that are coming. I promise they're just typical "New (or not) Stage" episodes paving the way for more plot-twists. Quite frankly, they may turn out to be so boring to write that I decide to Yugi them (i.e. Not write them). The truly significant ones may be written, and the others summarized briefly. After that will be a story arc filled with the unexpected.

This chapter may have been longer than usual, but keep in mind that there was a lot going on which required descriptions. Nonetheless, if you had the stamina to read through the entire fic, I salute you.
