If after reading this you still have no clue what digimon shipping I'll be mostly concentrating on then…you need your eyes checked :p It's way obvious in the first WAY cute scene Hehehehehe! Anyway for anyone who likes the idea of this certain ship then you'll defiantly have to read chapter 11 when I get it up ^_^ YAY!
So what can I say about this chapter…?
Lotsa cute/funny Kari/Kouichi/Kouji scenes that's pretty much it ^_^ Oh and plenty of confusing technical Izzy for the Izzy fans ;)

DIGIMON: The Pure Darkness

LAST EPISODE:

RYO - After a pep talk from Takuya and August in his dreams Kouji's spirits are boosted and is determined to lead his friends to a victory against the darkness, even when it's revealed that the darkness is growing and engulfing the campus. ken's spirits aren't as boosted as he blames himself for the death of the man he attacked... realizing his broken digivice was the cause for that Kari, kouji and kouichi leave to see Izzy leaving Rika and I against the darkness...but things go from bad to worse when a group of students affected by the strong dark energy attack us, almost killing Rika...good thing Junpei and takato showed up...

Episode Ten: - "Trip to the city! Kari's secret!"

Kouji watched the countryside pass before him as he stared out of the train window, his thoughts just drifting away from him but they were broken when he heard the commotion Kouichi and Kari were making. He turned slowly to face them and a smile grew on his face as he watched the two argue playfully as they held some cards in their hands.

"Nah-a! I didn't agree to play strip poker," Kari snapped at kouichi who was sat beside her.

"Did too..." Kouichi argued back, with a large grin on his face. "I won, so take off your top..."

"No way!" Kari laughed as she nudged Kouichi softly with her hand, but as she did Kouichi reached down and took off her shoe and then held it up.

"I get your shoe then!"

"Give it back kouichi!"

With that kari desperately attempted to grab the show off kouichi but he was holding it out of her reach while holding her back with his other hand. Kouji just watched them thinking how cute they were together. Then their stop was announced over the tannoy in the train so he stood up, getting ready to get off the train as Kari managed to snatch her shoe back from kouichi who just pulled a playful face back at her.

As the train pulled away from the station the three of them began looking around.

"So this Izzy guy is meeting us here?" kouji asked Kari.

"Yep!" came her reply. Then she pointed him out to the two boys as she saw Izzy approaching them. "And there he is!"

"Salutations everyone!" Izzy said giving then a small wave of his hand as he ran up to them.

"Huh!" Kouji and Kouichi replied, looking as clueless as each other, but kari seemed to make sense of what he just said.

"Hi Izzy!" she said. "Nice to see you again"

"Likewise..." Izzy then looked at Kari's friends. "Are these the two friends you were telling me about on the phone?"

"Yep! This is Kouichi and his brother Kouji..."

Izzy greeted them both then motioned for them to follow him.

Izzy led them to a small laboratory he worked at; it was full of computers and other kind of gadgets which izzy had made.

"So where are these digivices...?" he asked, sitting down in a chair. Kari held out Ken's digivice, while Kouji held out his.

"Interesting!" Izzy said as he looked at them both. "Truly remarkable...hummm.. I'm not promising anything but... I'll have a go at fixing them"

"Thankyou so much" Kari told him as he took both devices and placed them behind him on a desk. Izzy then looked out of the window at the darkening sky, night was coming and he knew Kari and her friends would be tired, after all it was a long train journey.

"You can stay at my place tonight..." he told them. "...I probably won't have these done for maybe a day... depending... so tomorrow you can take a day off from all this darkness stuff and enjoy the city!"

The three of the eagerly took Izzy up on his offer, before he started working on their digivices.

Later that night Kouji was just staring up at the ceiling of Izzy's small living room in his apartment. He and kouichi were sleeping on the floor in sleeping bags with a few extra blankets while kari got the sofa.

I wonder how the others are doing... he thought to himself. He had thought about calling them but it was so late they were all probably asleep... or wide-awake fighting the darkness.

Just then he noticed Kouichi, who was beside him, started to shiver a little in his sleep. Kouji watched him as Kouichi began to mumble something as well but he couldn't make out what it was. With that he carefully moved the covers over his brother better, which eventually made his shivering and muttering cease. He groaned a little, as if stirring from his sleep, but eventually settled again.

Kouji just laid back into his own sleeping bag and once again stared at the ceiling before he too fell into a deep sleep.

Morning came fast for the small group as the strong winter sun flooded the room full of light as kouji opened them. Outside the city was basked in a strong orange glow, the view was amazing from Izzy's apartment window. Kouichi rubbed his eyes and joined his brother at the window.

"Beautiful ey?" Kouji said. Kouichi nodded in agreement. "Hard to know that the world could be in danger"

"Hey guys!" Kouji and Kouichi turned around to see Kari stood up behind them. "No talking about the darkness today okay, we just need to have some fun!"

"I...feel kinda guilty..." Kouji replied. "...us going out and having fun while the others are stuck fighting the darkness..."

"How about this..." kari began. "...after we defeat that thing we take everyone out to dinner..." She then grabbed the two boys and dragged them out of the apartment to leave Izzy to work alone with the digivices.

Walking along the street the three of them gasped at the amazing sites around them, mostly for Kari it was the 25% sale at some of the shops.

"Awww...this is going to be a shopping nightmare!" Kouichi moaned to himself, pouting as he did.

"Heh! well you agreed to come..." Kouji replied back. "...your own fault"

Kouichi silently cursed to his brother then carried on scowling.

After the shopping extravaganza the group decided food was the best next move, but as they walked the streets for somewhere decent Kari purposely fell behind so she was walking with Kouji and so she was a decent distance from Kouichi.

"I need to talk to you...," she whispered to Kouji. "...but only with you, not Kouichi"

Kouji listened to her words before both of their attentions were drawn to kouichi as he spotted a place to eat.

"OVER THERE!" he screamed as he pointed out a cafe over the road. Kouji and kari looked at each other and agreed to kouichi's choice.

"So what is it that you need to talk to me about?" Kouji asked while fiddling with a packet of sugar before putting it into the coffee he had ordered before him. kari looked back to where kouichi was getting the food for them, then turned back to Kouji. She blushed and nervously fiddled with a few packs of salt on the table.

"Well...you see... I..." she began, but couldn't seem to find the right words. Kouji encouraged her to go on as he began to take a sip from his coffee. "...well...you see... it's about...Kouichi...I kinda... well...kinda...I think... well... I think I'm in love with him!"

Kouji's eyes popped wide open as he began to choke on the coffee. He put the cup down on the table as he waited for it to pass then looked back up at Kari.

"You...love him!?!"

"Well... yeah... "

Kouji clamed down and gave kari a small warm smile.

"Well I don't know why I'm surprised, you two are great friends and soemtimes tend to carry on like a couple..."

"Heh! Yeah..." Kari said shyly. "...I just...don't know how to tell him, that's all..."

"Try writing a love song about killer ferrets, that'll get his attention" Kouji joked. Eventually his face fell a little more serious and gave Kari some proper advice. "Just be yourself, he obviously likes you back."

"Yeah..." She then looked up at Kouji. "...but I won't tell him today, one day...just not today"

Kouji nodded half in agreement and half to tell her that he won't mention a thing to his brother. He knew it was best coming from her mouth rather than his. Soon Kouichi joined them and they began to eat their food, they could only hope the digivices would be ready tonight at the latest.

"Really? It's grown that big...?"

Kouji was stood outside the cafe as he waited for Kari and Kouichi to finish whatever they were doing inside. He had just called Junpei up on his mobile to see how things were going.

"And whoever goes really close to it become violent...?"

"Yep!" came Junpei's voice on the other end. "Rika and Ryo went in to give the darkness a few warning shots and both of them could of been killed by those people if Takato and I hadn't stepped in..."

"Damnit!" Kouji cursed. "That thing isn't wasting anytime in causing any mayhem, ey?" Kouji's thoughts then turned to his other friend. "How's Ken doing?"

In Kouji's dorm Junpei turned to where Ken was still sat on the sofa.... not moving, not saying a word.

"He's truly lost it!" Junpei replied, quiet enough so Ken couldn't hear him. "All he's done since the other's brought him back is sit on the sofa and stare at the blank TV screen..."

"We so can't afford him to fall apart on us..." Kouji told Junpei, remembering that Ken had told him something similar when he was depressed, just before the accident happened. "...just try and cheer him up in anyway you can okay, I'm hoping we'll be back tonight..." Kouji then noticed Kari and Kouichi were coming out of the cafe so said bye to junpei before hanging up.

"Who was on the phone?" Kouichi asked.

"I just phoned Junpei to see how things are..." kouji replied. "...which aren't good by the way...the darkness has doubled in size since we last saw it and it's affecting anyone who goes near it..."

"Lets just hope Izzy has gotten somewhere with those digivices..." kari said, before the group walked off back towards Izzy's apartment.

Back in Izzy's apartment the computer genius was still hard at work with the digivices as Kari and the brothers walked through the door, but he had almost finished so was just applying the fronts of them again.

"So how's it going?" Kouji asked as Izzy approached them. In response Izzy brought forward both digivices and smiled.

"I think you'll be pleasantly pleased with what I have done..." he said as Kouji picked up his digivice and looked at it. "...I rerouted the main power control to the main power buffer then just created a masked force field around the spirits..."

"You....what...?" asked Kouji looking up at Izzy with one very puzzled look on his face as kouichi picked up Ken's digivice and looked at it.

"Maybe it was his technical way of saying he put them together with paperclips and chewing gum... it's what I would of done anyway!"

"All you need to know is that I'm pretty confident they'll work..." Izzy told them.

"Only pretty confidant..." Kouji said looking at Izzy suspiciously, but then he gave him a warm smile. "Well that's good enough to me, thankyou so much"

"Your welcome" Izzy replied, he then turned to Kari. "You should bring your friends more often"

Kari nodded in agreement before the three of them said their byes to izzy and left the apartment.

"So now we need to get back to the college" Kouji told is friends as they walked slowly through the city as night began to fall.

"But it'll take hours on the train" kari moaned. "It'll be pretty late by the time we actually get back"

Suddenly Kouji stopped walking as he looked down at his D-Scanner in his hand and gave it a very confident smile. The others stopped walking and looked back at him.

"It doesn't take hours by how the Garmmon travels" Kouji finally said, still looking at his digivice. He then looked up at the others and gave them the same smile. The other two got his intentions straight away as they too whipped out their digivices.

"Or how the Velgmon and YumeAngemon fly!" Kouichi added on. The three nodded to each other as they began to run as fast as they could through the city and once they were out of sight from people they turned into their digimon forms and travelled as fast as they could towards the Tobia College.

They arrived only half an hour later in the grounds of the college but as they entered they noticed the large black mass, which now had engulfed most of the courtyard. The three of them turned back into their human forms and watched it from behind a tree for a while, before Kari and kouichi began to leave. As they did Kouji gasped as he saw some sort of an image in the darkness... like a human, he blinked a few times and it...vanished.

"Strange..." he thought to himself. "I really thought I saw..." He then broke off and shook his head dismissing it as him seeing things. He then heard kari and Kouichi calling for him so took one last look at the darkness before joining them.

As soon as they reached Kouji's dorm the three could sense the negativity in the room. Kouji looked around the place and saw ken still in the same spot they had left him, so walked over to Junpei who was stood by Henry and his laptop on the kitchen table.

"Has he been like that all the time?" Kouji asked him as he glanced at Ken again.

"Yep!" Junpei replied. "As far as I know he hasn't even slept or eaten anything... he's almost like...an empty shell now... and we've tried everything to bring him out of it...but nothing has worked"

Kouji gave out a tired sigh as his eyes wandered from ken to the kitchen table. Beside Henry's laptop was the post from today so Kouji picked it up and began flicking through it, most of it were things like bills and junk mail but one letter caught his eye. The address on the front was scrolled in neat fancy handwriting and was addressed to "Mr. K. Minamoto"

Curious to see what it was kouji ripped open the letter but his face dropped when he read it.

"What is it?" Junpei asked, Kouji just handed him the letter.

"An invitation..." he replied sorrowfully. "...to takuya's funeral"

NEXT EPISODE:

KARI: - Takuya's funereal is hard on all the gang as it brings up painful memories past and present, but afterwards Kouichi gets into a fight with the darkness as Duskmon and is swallowed whole by the dark mass... and while in there he sees something he didn't expect. Can the love of light help him escape? It's the next episode "Dark of Night, Light of Day!" Keep reading! ;)
