Digital Dementia Prologue: The Harbinger

Note: Digimon, Digivice, D-3, D-Arc, The Digital World and all characters related there of are properties of Toei Animation, Fox Kids etc. I do not have there permission to use these characters.

I will say this now. Any resemblance this fan fic holds to any other fan fic is purely coincidental. I have just discovered a similarity between this and another fanfic. After coming up with my concepts and writing this I read one of Lord Archives fan fics and found that what I have devised as the digivices in this series is the same as the digivices in his Spamalot digimon season 5 fan fic. It is the Arm Bracer digivice.

Drake was running as fast as he could towards the TV gate. He had already sent a message to Izzy in Odaiba but he had to get off of the Mainframe continent fast. He could see the gate up ahead in a clearing as he ran through the forest. Once he was close enough he jump towards the portal, his dragon like partner digimon, Drakemon is close pursuit.

"Digiport……" was all he managed to get out before he was sent flying into the ground by blast of energy.

Once he managed to regain his senses he looked up and saw something he had never expected and hoped to never see, a viral Magna Angemon.

"I am the Harbinger, and it is your time to die child of Power."

"Not likely." Drake replied.

"Fusion Digivulution Activate!" Drake and his partner called as one. A bright red aura surrounded both of them as the fused together. When the aura subsided in there place stood a massive dragon/knight type digimon. "Ragnamon!"

"Do you think you parlor trick will impress me? Gate of destiny!" A large golden circle appeared and a gate opened up inside of it. It began to suck Ragnamon in.

"Oh fuck! I forgot he could do that!"

Ragnamon was easily sucked into the vortex, but as he went in two things happened. The first was two lights flying away from his body and disappearing. The second was a dimensional distortion beginning to form on the other side of the clearing.

Amanda dried herself off as she got out of the shower. She wrapped her towel around herself and went to her room and started to get dressed. As she was slipping on her jeans her computer monitor started to glow white. Suddenly a beam shot out of it and hit her purse hanging on her bed. She ran over to her purse and took out her digiwatch, which had been inactive for the past 3 years. To her surprise, and horror, her crest, the crest of valor, was embedded on the strap of the watch. As she put it on for the first time in three years a serpent like wave of light emerged from her computer and formed into a digimon.

"Amanda!" yelled to serpent as it flew towards her and wrapped itself about her in it's version of a huge.

"Serpentamon…" was all Amanda managed to say through her tears.

"What's wrong? Aren't you happy to see me?"

"Of course I am, but the only reason my crest would ever return to me after I gave it to Ryan so he could protect the digital world would be that he failed to protect and the only way for him to fail in that is for him to die trying." Amanda barely managed to say before collapsing to the ground in tears.

"Oh no, you mean that Ryan and Drakemon are dead. No, it can't be!!" was all Serpentamon managed to say before breaking into tears herself.

As Jason stepped through the portal into his home dimension, what he saw horrified him. There was his best friend and the guy his sister loved fused with his digimon partner into the being known as Ragnamon and they were being sucked into a Gate of destiny to there doom. Suddenly two streaks of light left Ragnamon and one of the collided with his Digi-Bracer. On it appeared his crest, the crest of honor.

"Ryan!! No!!!!" was all Jason could yell before he was engulfed in a green light.

When Jason came too three hours later he was resting in a bed somewhere in the real world. He sat up to take a look around even though he was still incredibly tired. He saw a kid with spiky red hair working a computer with some sort of insect hovering over his shoulder.

"You're awake!" came a voice from his feet.

Jason looked down to see a black dog with stylized white marking running all the way down its back, markings that told him this was his partner digimon, Wolfmon.

"Nice to see that you're awake Jason. Names Izzy." said the boy who was working at the computer with out looking up. "Drake told me a lot about you and your sister Amanda. Welcome back to our dimension and the list of active Digidestined. It is a shame you came back just in time to see Drake die though."

Jason looked puzzled. "Who is this Drake?"

"Sorry. That is what Ryan's name is listed as on the digidestioned duty list. I have gotten so used to calling him that since he did not want his real name to be divulged." Replied Izzy.

"Ryan isn't dead. He has far too much power to be stopped like that. Besides, that is how I ended up in another dimension anyway. He should be able to find his way back within a few weeks to about ten years. Where am I anyway?"

"You are in Japan. You should get some more rest. I have some people coming over to meet you in about two hours, you should sleep until then."

"Glad I learned Japanese." was all Jason could say before falling asleep again.
