DRAGON OF THE SWORD: THE JOURNAL OF THE REAL DRACULA
By DigiRanma
Journal entry.
Story.
This is the story of D, known as Dracula. Once this is out of the way, I will resume with "Taming D," but until then, there will be no new chapters of that story. For those that didn't read the last story, this is what Renamon and Rika are reading when they see D's computer was on.
******************************************************************** ***
NOTE: Journal, this will be comprised of old and new entries. These will have my thoughts, my dreams, my hopes, and my desires.

"Very dramatic." Rika replied sarcastically.
"That was just the opening." Renamon stated. "There's more." She said as she and Rika continued reading
**************************************************************** ********
However, this will also contain things that I am not proud of. Keep in mind Journal that I am not the man that I once was and I thank Kami for that everyday.

"'The man I once was?'" Renamon read aloud.
"What does he mean by that?" Rika replied.
"I don't know." Renamon replied.
"Keep reading. Maybe we'll find out." Rika said as they both continued.

August 3, 1171
Today, my friends, Takana, Hiachi, and I went to the tavern a few miles outside of town and celebrated my 25th birthday. Since my father has power in this town, we were given a private room with more Geishas than what we knew what to do with. I would have had my way with them too, but my friends stopped me saying that it would cause a great scandal, especially since the women weren't in the mood. Feh. Like I care what the old man thinks. However, I will never forget one encounter I had on the way home. It was as if Kami himself sent her. She was a vision, she was beautiful…

August 3, 1171…
Somewhere, out in the woods between Dracula's village, and the tavern, D and his two friends are walking with swords in seethe. There have been rumors about bandits in the area
"Look D, to you, her eyes may have said yes, but that's just to you." Takana, a brown haired man of average height and build said
"Aww, layoff the guy." Hiachi, a blue haired man of average height and build said. "He was just doing what you or I would have done."
"True Hiachi." Takana said. "But the difference between us and D is that none of our parents are the head of the village." D just scoffed at that.
"Like I care what the old man thinks." Dracula said. "That bastard doesn't give a rat's ass about me, so why should I about him."
"Just because he showed you up in your swordsmanship doesn't mean he's that bad." Takana said. "It just means he's a pompous ass that shouldn't have gotten his job."
"That old bastard got a job he shouldn't have." Dracula said angrily. "I have the youth, I have the experience, why did he get it?!"
"Maybe it has to do with him sleeping with the last village head's daughter and gaining his trust before he died?" Haichi said. This angered D further until they heard something.
"What was that?" Takana asked. They heard it again, but by the time they realized it came from the trees, it was too late as the rumored bandits ambushed them. The bandits were dressed in samurai-like garb with masks covering most of their faces. Save for one: A female bandit. She was dressed in the same garb, had brown hair, brown eyes, but something about her stirred in Dracula a feeling. An emotion.
"Well, well. What do we have here?" The woman said. "Three lost travelers, one cute one and two very stupid ones. Just which is which?" It was then the three drew their swords.
"Now, I don't want to wind up damaging such a pretty face." D said with a dark smile. "But if your goons go near me or my friends, I have no problems showing a woman what a man with a sword can do." The woman just grinned, showing her fangs and laughed.
"The bigger the sword, the smaller the… *ahem* seethe." The woman said.
"Lets just hope your mouth isn't the only thing on you that's smart." Takana said. "Tell your goons to back off, or we'll attack them before they get us."
"Lets just see you try." One of the men said as he went after them. D answered with a vertical slash to the man's chest.
"AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!" The man said in pain.
"I suggest you get your thug some help, but I prefer that we fight right now." D said with a smile.
"I was thinking the same thing." The woman said with an evil smile, showing those same fangs. "Get them! We'll help Hiroshi later." She said as the bandits attacked them. Takana answered with a few sword slashes, while Haichi was able to show them how to fight with the sword…
"AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!"
…some more than others, but as for Dracula, he has one thing on his mind…
'Cut off the heart, the veins will die with it!' He thought as he went after the woman…
*KLANG*
…who had her own sword in hand.
"Nice sword…" D said just before he…
*KLANG*
…tried again. "…beautiful bandit."
"Flattering with the enemy?" The woman said as she jumped over him to the left and tried a running strike…
*KLANG*
…only to fail as the swords meet again. "Overconfident are we, or are you trying to score more than a victory?"
"A bit of both." D said as he tried a running strike to the right….
*KLANG*
*CRASH*
…only to cause the swords to shatter. "Now, this is a bit of a problem." Dracula said.
"Indeed. So much for a battle to the death." The woman said. "Not that I can die anyway." That comment caused D to give a look.
"What do you mean?" He asked. The woman got into a fighting stance.
"Care to find out?" She said, showing those fangs.
"I get it. But if I win, you tell me what you met by 'Not that I can die anyway.'" He said.
"But if I win, I get whatever from you I want." She replied with a smile.
"Done. Ready?" D asked as the woman nodded. "FIGHT!" D shouted as he tried a jump kick, but the woman dodged with inhuman speed. She then answered back with an elbow to the head. D fell to the ground and struggled, but got up. She then tried a side kick, but he blocked it and delivered a front kick to the abdomen. She reeled a bit, but returned with round house kick to the head, causing him to fall down hard. He struggles, but can't get up. The woman just looks over him and smiles, then picks him up and apparently hugs him.
"I win." The woman said as she bites his neck. She then starts sucking on his blood, as something surges through Dracula.
'What's happening to me?!' D thought. 'She's draining me of my blood, I should be dying, but… but… I feel a surge of power! I feel something in me unlike anything I've ever felt before!' The woman than stopped and looked at him, then smiled.
"A little after dinner snack." The woman said, then kissed him on the lips. "And that was dessert." She then whistled and called her bandits, most of whom were wounded, some were on the ground. "Take the ones you can, we're done here." She said just before she left with the other bandits. Takana and Haiatchi had a few scars and wounds, but were able to hold their own. As for D, he just stood there, his hand over the area of the neck where she bit facing where the woman ran off.
"Are you alright Dracula?" Haichi asked. D then took his hand off the area, and when he looked at it, he saw there was no blood.
"I didn't even get her name." Was all that he said. The friends then decided to walk back to the village, not knowing that destiny had a part in this.
***********************************************************************
My friends and I were attacked, I was bitten, and as odd as this sounds, had my blood drained from me. What's even odder though is that all I could think of was 'I didn't even get her name.'

"Huh. Love at first robbery." Renamon said sarcastically.
"That helped." Rika said just as sarcastically. "It looks like there's more."

July 25, 1196
Its been almost 25 years since that fateful night, and I haven't aged one day. I even outlived that old bastard who dared called himself "My dad." I didn't become the head of the village, Takana did. I do harbor some feelings of jealousy, but anybody is better than that bastard. But to get back on topic, I haven't aged one day, I've grown fangs, and it all goes back to that one night with that one woman. I never could get her out of my head. Those eyes, that face, her body, those fangs. What happened to me? Is she really responsible?
I had those and other questions in my head so I headed to the tavern a few miles outside of town… near where it all began…

Tavern, July 25, 1196...
"That's your fifth bottle of Saki today sir. I think you had…" The bartender couldn't finish, because he could see that his customer, Dracula, was still sober. "…enough? You're not even drunk yet."
"Keep them coming." D said. "I don't know if I'll ever get drunk at this point, but until I do, keep them coming until I say when."
"That'll be awhile." D heard a woman's voice said. "In fact, if you insist on doing that, you'll be drinking until the end of time and not even get a little bit tipsy." D knew the voice from somewhere, and got his suspicions confirmed when he turned towards the woman.
"YOU!" He said. Sure enough, it was the head bandit that tried to rob him and his friends 25 years ago.
"Yes, me." The woman replied. "I can see you didn't forget me, and as you can see, I remember you." She then smiled showing her fangs. "Would you like to know why you haven't aged? Or at least why you're not drunk?"
"I got a feeling you're going to tell me all the answers." D said.
"Yes and no. I am not the first of my kind, and I don't know how we came to be, but I can at least tell you who I am and what you are." The woman said.
"Not in that order I take it?" D asked.
"You guessed right. I'll tell you who we are if you tell me your name first." The woman said.
"Only if you tell me who you are after words." D replied.
"Fair enough." The woman said. "But lets go somewhere private." D then nodded and they left. She lead him to a certain area outside the bar. "Recognize this place?"
"It's… its where we fought and you bit me." He said.
"You forgot one thing." The woman said with a hint of lust in her voice.
"Oh, you mean your desert." D said smiling. "Now, for what you what you want. My name is Dracula Habiki and my friends call me D. Apparently, I'm still 25 years old and I'm friends with the head of my village."
"Oh, so you know somebody in power?" The woman said smiling.
"I prefer not to use my closest friends for my gain, thank you." D said.
"Oh, so you have some sort of comradely with this man?" The woman asked.
"He and Haitchi watched my back, I watch theirs' and frankly, I like it that way." D replied. "Now, what about my half of the agreement?" The woman than smiled, showing her infamous fangs.
"First thing's first. Show me the teeth." The woman said. Dracula than smiled, showing his fangs.
"Ah, so your fangs have developed." The woman said.
"Got them one week after you bit me." D said.
"Not unusual for a vampire to grow fangs within that time." The woman replied.
"VAMPIRE?!" D said surprised.
"Yes, and if you join with me, I'll teach you about your new abilities, even a few new moves. Maybe after that, you can beat me." The woman said smiling.
"Do I have to do that to get a date from you?" D replied. The woman still laughed.
"Still flattering me, even though this is the first time we met in 25 years." The woman said.
"It'd still help if I knew your name." D said. The woman than looked at him in the eyes.
"It's Rina. Rina Isagi." The woman replied.
*************************************************************** *****
The woman than looked at me with her beautiful brown eyes and told me her name, a name I will never forget as long as I live. "Rina." She said. "Rina Isagi."
**************************************************************** ****
"Hey, isn't that the name of goggle boy's teacher?" Rika said. But Renamon was lost in her own thoughts.
'That description… sounds so familiar… but I've never seen Takato's teacher, so how would I know?' The former Digimon thought.
"Renamon?" Rika said trying to get her partner out of it.
"Wha..?" Renamon said snapping out her daze. "Yes. I believe so. I think we should continue reading. This man has an interest in us and his girlfriend is teaching one of our own."
"For once, you and I are in agreement."
