Disclaimer: I don't own Digimon, it is property of….um…I don't know, but I don't own the rights to it. Any new characters are mine and so is the plotline of this story, so I would appreciate it if you didn't copy this or put it on your site without asking.
Author's notes: Hi! I'm new to the world of Digimon fanfics so please give me a chance. This story takes place after the second season, but before the third and before the Digidestined are adults. Also the parents never found out about the Digimon in this fic so everything is still a secret. The younger Digidestined, (Takeru, Hikari, Daisuke, Miyako, Iori, and Ken) are in high school, while the others are in high school too but are in a different grade. (ACK! I don't know the age difference!) I want to establish all the pairings in this story now so people don't get confused. Miyako+Ken, Taichi+Sora, Takeru+Kari, Jou+Mimi. As for the rest I'm not sure yet! They need more female characters! Oh well, please enjoy the story…
~Chapter One~
"Hikari! Iora!" Miyako cried and waved as she entered the classroom.
"Hi Miyako!" Hikari and Iori replied and walked to meet her. It was the first day of school as juniors and the three of them were in the same homeroom. Daisuke and Takeru had been put in the homeroom next-door, while Ken was in a high school at his end of town and Jou was attending a private school.
"I can't believe we're in the same homeroom!" Miyako cheered.
Hikari sweatdropped. "Calm down Miyako." She sighed.
"You are aware our other classes will be different right?" Iori pointed out.
Miyako smile faded and she got an agitated look. "Sheesh, can't a girl get a little excited without someone ruining it?"
"All right class, settle down." Sensei Miomoto said as she walked in. "Now I know this is everyone's first day back, but we also have someone who is new to our school all the way from another country." He said. "Please come in Tara." He said to the door.
A determined looking girl walked into the room. She had a pale pink face and bright hazel eyes. Her sandy brown hair was worn in two buns at the top of her head with the rest of her hair flowing to her shoulders. She wore a dark purple tank top with a lavender little stripe in the middle. She also wore a black skort that clung to her legs. For shoes she had black boots.
"Why don't you tell the class about yourself." Sensei Morimoto suggested.
Tara nodded. "Hello everyone. My name is Tara Harper. I'm from American though I fluently speak Japanese. I'm very happy to be here, very happy indeed." She glanced over at Hikari, Iori and Miyako and starred at them.
Miyako jumped a bit. "Was it just me or was she starring at us in a creepy way?" She whispered to Iori and Hikari.
Iori shrugged. "You're probably imagining it." He guessed.
"Ya Miyako, don't freak out on us. She's just a new student." Hikari assured her. "Lets get in our seats."
"Okay…" Miyako muttered as she slid into her seat.
"Tara, why don't you sit next to Miyako?" Sensei Morimoto told Tara. She nodded and walked over to Miyako.
Miyako gulped. `Just great.' She thought.

At lunch Miyako, Iori, and Hikari met Daisuke, Takeru, Taichi, Yamato, Sora, and Koushirou outside. "So how was your first day of school?" Taichi asked the others as he leaned against a tree.
"Fine." Yamato replied.
"Well I know that!" Taichi shouted. "I'm in your classes!" He sighed.
"Well you didn't specified who you were talking to." Yamato pointed out.
"My day was great!" Hikari smiled, trying to stop Taichi from killing Yamato.
"Me too." Daisuke agreed.
"That's good." Sora giggled.
"But there was this strange new girl in our class." Miyako said matter-of-factly.
"Oh not this again." Iori sighed. "She just looked at us and Miyako freaked out!"
"But she starred at us really weirdly!" Miyako protested.
"Oh, do you mean Tara Harper?" Koushirou asked.
"Ya." Miyako nodded.
"I saw her the computer lab today. She was signing up for the computer club." He explained. "Later I heard her telling someone to meet her on the school roof at lunch time. I went to see who she was talking to, but she was alone."
"I say we go investigate to roof!" Daisuke and Taichi shouted in unison.
"Just like those two to jump ahead." Iori sweat dropped.
"Yeah! Let's go!" Miyako agreed. They ended up dragging the rest up to the roof.

When they reached the top they heard Tara talking to someone. "I know, I miss them too, but they can't come here until later. You know that. Right now we have to help prepare the others like he said."
"What is she talking about?" Sora hissed.
"How should I know?" Taichi laughed.
"Taichi! You are such a jerk!" She fumed.
"Both of you be quiet! She'll hear us!" Daisuke scolded.
"You're one to talk." Hikari rolled her eyes.
"You better go now, they're coming." Tara said outside the door.
"She knows we're here!" Miyako gasped.
"See! I told you!" Daisuke huffed.
"Well let's go out there!" Yamato told the others as he opened the door. They all walked over to Tara, who sat alone.
"Hi Tara." Hikari smiled down at her. "Do you mind if we sit with you?" She asked.
"Sure!" Tara agreed. "Have a seat!" She offered. The group all sat down and pulled out their lunches.
"So why are you sitting up here alone?" Taichi blurted out.
"Taichi!" Sora gasped and jabbed him in the side. "That's rude!"
"It's all right." Tara giggled. "It's a fair question. Well, let's just say I'm not a people person…" Her voice faded away and she starred up into the sky.
"Heeeelllloooo!" Daisuke waved his hand in her face after awhile.
"Oh! I'm sorry!" Tara blushed a bit. She quickly picked up her lunch. "I really have to get going now." She excused herself and left swiftly.
"Did she just blow us off?" Miyako blinked.
"I doubt it. She must have forgotten something." Takeru replied.

After school Miyako took the subway to Ken's part of town. She had gone away for the weekend and Ken had promised to look after Poromon (I'm sorry if I spell any of the digimon's names wrong so please don't sue!) for the weekend and she was picking him up now. His school had not gotten out yet so she waited at the entrance of the school.
Students started to stream out and Miyako was getting nervous as she felt some of the guys eyeing her as they came out. One actually came up to her. "Hey babe, where did you come from, heaven? Because you look like an angel to me." He told her.
"That's original. Did you make that one on your own?" Miyako sighed and rolled her eyes.
"Oh, you've got a sharp tongue. I better be careful." He snickered and grabbed Miyako's wrist.
"Hey! Let go of me you creep!!!!!" She shrieked. Several heads turned to the scene.
"She said to let go!" A male voice cried. Ken appeared next to him.
"Oh is your little boyfriend here to help?" The guy laughed at Miyako.
She blushed, but hid it. `Ken my boyfriend? Like that would ever happen!' She thought.
"If you don't let go of her you'll be sorry." Ken glared at him.
"And what are you going to do about it?" The guy mocked him.
"That does it!" Ken steamed. He reached over and hit a spot on the back of his neck and the guy collapsed to the ground.
Miyako let out a gasp when he released her hand. She rubbed the wrist with her other hand. The spectators from the school were now all clapping at the show but the two Digidestined ignored them. "Miyako, are you okay?" Ken asked and walked over to her. He looked at her wrist to make sure it was okay.
"Ya, I'm fine. Thanks to you at least." Miyako replied.
"That's good." Ken sighed with relief. "What are you doing over here anyways?" He asked.
"I kinda came to get Poromon…" Miyako reminded him.
"Oh ya." Ken shook his head. "Shall we go to my place?" He offered.
"We shall!" Miyako laughed and the two of them walked to Ken's place.
When they reached his apartment Ken pulled a key out of his pocket and unlocked the door. They both walked in. "Mom, I'm home!" He called out.
"Hello Ken. How was school?" Mrs. Ichijouji asked as she walked into the room Ken and Miyako were in.
"Good." He replied. "Um, Mom, this is my friend Miyako."
"Why hello dear!" Mrs. Ichijouji smiled.
"Hello." Miyako nodded.
"Well Ken, I'm off to the store. Is there anything you need?" Mrs. Ichijouji said as she took her coat and put it on.
"No, but thanks for asking." Ken replied. His mother walked out the door. "Come on Miyako. Poromon's in my room with Leafmon." He said as he led Miyako to his room. He opened the door. "Leafmon, Poromon, We're here." He called inside.
"Yeah!" Two small voices shouted. The two Digimon jumped up into Ken and Miyako's arms. "Miyako!" Poromon smiled.
"Hi Poromon! I missed you so much while I was gone!" Miyako smiled back.
"I missed you too!" Poromon agreed.
Suddenly a beeping noise was coming from Ken's computer. "What's that?" Miyako wondered.
"I don't know. I'll check it out." Ken said and walked over to the computer with Leafmon still in his hand. He searched through the computer and typed away like a madman. "Oh no!" He shouted and backed away from the computer.
"What's wrong?" Miyako demanded to know.
"There's a dark spire up in the digitalworld!" Ken explained.
"But how!?" Miyako gasped.
"I…I don't know." Ken stuttered.
"Well there's one way to find out!" Miyako pulled her digivice from her pocket. "You want to go?" She asked.
"Of course!" Ken agreed. He pulled out his digivice. "I'll just send a quick e-mail to everyone with the coordinates." He typed up the e-mail and sent it to the others.
"Are you two ready?" Miyako asked Poromon and Leafmon. The two nodded. She turned back to Ken. "You done?"
"Yup. Let's go." He placed his digivice in front of the screen. "Digiport open!" He shouted. The screen began to glow. Suddenly all four were gone from the room.
