Evil's Kind Face

By: Katmon =^.^= Ichijouji

The ruins of the Digimon Kaizer's base lay in a heap on the ground, not touched since Arukenimon's time. No wind blew here. No voices made any mark. The sun could not shine, for a reason unknown. No green was seen. The sky was often filled with clouds. No Digimon came near. Eyes didn't see, ears didn't hear. As I said, untouched.

But all that was about to change. A strange woman appeared on the top of the mound. A strange blue light surrounded her, and something about her made you understand that she was in charge here. Grass sprung up from the barren stone at her feet. Sapphire blue eyes shone from beneath the dark cloak drapped around her shoulders. Her soft mouth pressed together in a line as she looked about. "It's time for this land to heal." She hissed to no one in particular.

The drab stone around her burst into green life and trees grew in mere minutes. Flowers flew from the ground and bloomed in the blink of an eye. The sun hit the small patches of rock still showing and changed their dullness into beauty.

The woman looked up suddenly as a noise came from the sky. A Stingmon with a young man was flying low over the newly healed land. The Stingmon landed before the woman and the rider stepped forward. "Who are you?" He asked angrily.

"Ichijouji." The woman hissed, her sapphire eyes turning a dark red color. "Digimon Kaizer." She added, softer with venom backing it up.

The man took a step back, his face a mixture of fear, dismay, and anger. He quickly regained his bearings. "The Kaiser is no more." He said.

The woman walked forward and put a finger on his chest. "Ichijouji, Kaizer. You are the same. Your are both fools. You will one day show your other side again. They will not stop you this time. No one can, except one." She stepped away, her eyes returning to normal, and disappeared.

The man didn't move. He stared at where the woman had been. A voice inside of him chuckled. "You know she's right, Ken. You're a weakling. I'll resurface before you know it. You'll have no way to stop me. No one will!" The voice cackled evily.

The man once called Kaizer fell to his knees, his hands over his ears. He fought tears and did his best not to cry out. If he did, the large Digimon behind him would come over and worry over him. Stingmon would leave him alone as long as this spasm didn't get too out of control. 'Why can't you just go away?!? Leave me alone! Haven't you tortured me enough?!'

"I'm a part of you, remember. I couldn't leave you alone if I tried. Deal." Said the Kaizer.

Ichijouji Ken grimaced and pushed himself to his feet. He turned to Stingmon. "Let's go and see what the others are doing." He mumbled. His face was drawn. Stingmon nodded and picked him up. They flew off.

Sapphire eyes watched as the man and Digimon flew off. A Digimon with purple eyes appeared next to the woman. If she noticed, she didn't react. The Digimon's purple eyes joined her own. The two stood next to one another, watching until long past the disappearance of the Digimon and it's passenger. Finally, the woman seemed to take notice of the Digimon beside her. "And what are you doing here?" She asked softly.

"Watching you." The purple one said.

The woman turned to the Digimon, her angry glare hitting him in the face, full power. "You dare defy my orders?!" She shouted.

The Digimon took an invoulintery step back. "I worried about our lady." He mumbled, unable to look away.

"Well, stop worrying, I'm fine." She turned away.

"I believe our lady fears the job she will have to do." The Digimon said softly, turning his head so the woman's glare wouldn't catch him again.

The woman gazed at him, her blue eyes no longer angry. Her voice was calm. "I fear nothing." The Digimon said nothing and kept his face to the side.

After a few moments went by, the woman nodded. "Very well. Accompany me from now on. Just, stay away from the Digi brats. I fear them seeing you. They will take you away." She looked away.

The Digimon nodded quietly, knowing better to comment on her words. "Shall we find them?" He asked.

The woman looked in the direction Ichijouji/Kaizer and Stingmon had disappeared. She shook her head. "They will come here." She looked at the Digimon sharply. "Hide yourself! They come!" She said as sharply as the turn of her head.

"As you wish." The Digimon said softly and faded from sight.

The woman glanced to where he still stood and nodded. "As long as they can't see you..." She mumbled.

The Digimon pointed and the woman looked. "They are here." He mumbled. The woman nodded, watching them. "Lady?" The Digimon asked. She turned. "Are you going to stand on the mound?" He asked, nodding in the direction of the stone she had been on before.

She looked, and disappeared. She reappeared on the mound. "Stay there!" She shouted as the Digimon started to get on his odd broom. The Digimon shrugged and stayed where he was.

"That's her!" Stingmon shouted when he saw the woman in her cloak, standing in her eariler position.

Taichi pulled out his binoculars to get a closer look. He looked her over carefully. Then he put the things away. "I can't see her face. It looks like she's waiting for something, though."

A harsh laugh came from Stingmon's arms. "For us, Taichi. Don't you see. She waits for us."

Stingmon fought back fear at his partner's words. Taichi flinched. The others were too far behind to hear Ken's words. Taichi looked back at the others. "You guys!" He shouted. Twenty-two pairs of eyes turned to him. "Ken, Stingmon, War Greymon and I will speak with the woman. The rest of you are to stay back!"

Twenty-two heads nodded and Taichi turned forward again. As they came closer a wind started and the woman's cloak flapped about her. The hood fell off and they got the first good look at her face.

She had pale skin. It was whiter than Yamato's pale skin. Slashs accross her face showed against her white skin, some healing over, some fresh, and some old scars. Her sapphire blue eyes shone out, holding Taichi's gaze for a few minutes, then she looked away. Her lips were also pale and a soft blue light shimmered around her. Her black hair fell below the top of the cloak and had silver streaks zipping through it. A shock of white hair fell across her face in the wind. She ignored it.

As the Digimon landed the wind stopped and the two humans in front stepped away from their Digimon. Taichi walked before Ken, as if hiding him from the woman's gaze. The woman was taller than anyone they knew. She carried a regal air about her. "Who are you?" Taichi cried out, not wanting to get too close.

The woman's eyes shimmered in something like laughter. "And you think I'm going to tell you!" She said shortly.

"You'd better. You're on our turf." War Greymon threatened.

The woman frowned at the mega. "And you need to learn to watch your mouth." She looked at Taichi. "Your Digimon needs to be taught some manners. I'll give him a practice course, if you want." She said softly.

Taichi stared at her, amazed. "A-are you th-threatening War Greymon?" He asked, stuttering from amazement.

The woman cocked her head. "Should I be?"

"You bitch! I'll teach you a lesson!!" War Greymon roared.

"War Greymon! Don't!" Taichi yelled. The others behind them echoed his cries as War Greymon flew up to the woman.

The woman narrowed her eyes. "You need an attitude adjustment." She said. Suddenly the wind started up again and the woman's cloak flew out around her. She rose her hands above her head and the blue light shimmered brighter there. She sent the light towards War Greymon, which turned into blue flames on the way, and it hit him right smack in the middle of his chest. War Greymon went flying through the air, landed seven feet away and de-evolved into Agumon.

Taichi turned around and ran after his Digimon. The woman watched him run for a few seconds, then turned back to Ken. "I did warn him." She said with a shrug. She looked up at the other Digidestined and Digimon, all of which were checking on War Greymon, even Stingmon. The woman walked to Ken and grabbed his arm. "Let's go, Kaizer." She said softly. Ken made no complaints as the woman faded from sight, him with her.
