Halloween Love

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Matt rushed around hurriedly before the first of his guests arrived. He thought, “Food, drinks, music”- The door bell broke his train of thought. Nine o'clock, right on time. He ran to the door and slipped on the mask lying on the table nearby. In came twenty to thirty people at once, stampeding through the doorway. One of them caught his eye.

 

“Hey Izzy!” he said to the man wearing a skeleton mask with spikes of red hair protruding from the top. The man turned to see Matt with a knight's mask atop his face. He smiled.

 

“Slaying for anyone special?” Izzy asked.

 

“Not yet.” Matt said with a grin. Another ring of the door bell and fifty or so more people walked in. Izzy just about blew up with laughter as he saw Ken walk in dressed as the Digimon Emperor himself. Ken went red with embarrassment.

 

“Is it bad?” he asked through the yellow glasses.

 

“No, it's just fine.” Izzy said while laughing as he turned and walked away. Matt grinned at the costume he once hated and then saw his younger brother stroll in.

 

As he spun around slowly for Matt to absorb the Angemon costume, TK asked, “So do you think Kari'll like it?”

 

“I know she'll like it a whole lot better then Ken's.” Matt replied as he walked away to mingle with a lovely masked rock star. TK stared at Ken's outfit with bewilderment.

 

“Are you serious?” he asked questioningly. Ken looked down at his shoes. TK lifted his mask to get a better look.

 

“It looks great, Ken.” TK said with a sigh. He slipped the mask back on as he awaited the arrival of his date, still not knowing exactly what she was wearing. Then suddenly an Angewomon walked through the door and smiled at TK's dropped jaw.

 

“You know, I was worried you would dress as something hard to spot.” She said.

 

“The costume looks great.” He stuttered as he found his words.

 

“And you don't look to bad yourself.” She said playfully. “So who else is here?” she asked.

 

“Matt and Ken are all that I know of.” TK replied.

 

“And Izzy.” Ken piped in.

 

“Nice costume.” Kari said to Ken with a laugh.

 

“Hey!” said a familiar voice behind them. It was Yolei dressed as an ice princess.

 

“Hi, Yolei. Is Mimi with you?” Kari asked.

 

“Yeah, she should be here in a minute or two.”

 

Mimi then came in dressed as another princess in all pink. Both Yolei's and Mimi's costumes were elaborate. Yolei's was an icy blue dress, with a slit going down her leg. She wore a necklace with three floating crystals and matching earrings. Her mask wore the same color as her dress and the same crystals from her necklace. Where as Mimi wore a pink dress with hot pink frills on the bottom. She had on a white pearl necklace covered in hot pink fishnet stockings. Her earrings were a match as well as her fishnet covered mask.

 

“Do you like?” she asked.

 

“It's…really…you.” Kari said, looking for words and forming her sentence at the same time.

 

“You think so? Well I'm going to mingle. Toddles!” Mimi said as she walked away.

 

Kari and T.K. exchanged glances and then laughed.

 

“Would you care to dance with me, Angewomon?” T.K. asked Kari as he heard the music play.

 

“I'd love to.”

 

As they walked away, Ken had already began to converse with a nearby Goth. Just then, Davis, dressed as his role model Tai, walked in the room. And right behind him are a joker, a queen, a dead patient, and a criminal. The dead patient instantly falls in love with a nearby pink princess and begins to chat with her, the criminal sees an ice princess and stares lovingly at her from a distance, the queen takes a seat on the couch with a view of the door, obviously waiting for someone, and the joker hesitantly gets up the nerve to talk to her.

 

“May I join you in your wait for your date?” he says with a smile, “You see I'm waiting for someone, too.”

 

“Sure.” She says, “Who are you waiting for?”

 

“Now isn't a masquerade supposed to be about secrets?” he says, beaming, “My best friend…she's amazing. “

 

As he continues to tell her about the woman of his dreams, the queen wishes he could be talking about her. Not only is it sweet, but he has the looks as well. He has long chocolate brown hair and eyes to match and a lean muscular body to go with it. He was perfect.

 

“Well, I have a similar story. I'm awaiting the arrival of my best friend as well. He doesn't exactly know I like him either.” She said with a sigh.

 

But as she talked about the mystery man, the joker behind the mask longed for it to be him. The woman in front of him was beautiful. Her auburn hair, pulled into a neat ponytail, outlined her face wonderfully. And her crimson eyes. He just couldn't get enough of them. As she continued to talk, the joker suddenly couldn't help it and he moved in and kissed her. She was taken aback at first but then kissed him. It wasn't an ordinary kiss either. And because of that, the queen let go of the soft lips and grabbed his hand and led him upstairs. Time had passed so quickly when they talked, for it was nearing midnight. They passed a love seat with an ice princess and a skeleton furiously making out with a nearby upset criminal as an onlooker as they headed toward the stairs. However, when they opened the spare bedroom door, they quickly closed it due to a pink princess and dead patient making out as well. They walked down the hall, and over to one of the many bathrooms in the luxurious house. Though upon opening the door, they closed it as well due to an Angemon and Angewomon, yet again, furiously making out. But once they turned around, they found themselves looking at another furious make out session, with the participants being a knight and a rock star. So they silently agreed on the bedroom across the hall, but closed that door from the Digimon Emperor and the Goth making out on the bed. Scared, they entered the bathroom next to it and found no one there, so that was the room they chose. After closing the door, they immediately started kissing. As the joker pushed her softly against the wall, he slowly lifted at the corners of the mask. As he did so, he couldn't help but wish it was her, his one true love. When he released his lips from hers and opened his eyes to see her face, he was shocked at whose crimson eyes he stared upon.

 

“Sora?” he asked.

 

She looked down at her shoes “Yeah…”

 

But to her surprise, he lifted his mask to reveal his face.

 

“It's me, Sora.” Tai said, “And I'm really hoping this won't ruin our friendship.”

 

“How could it? I was talking about you.”

 

“Me?”

 

“What other best friend, greater then you, would I be talking about?” she said with a smile.

 

“I love you.”

 

“I love you, too.” She said and they began to sink to the floor, kissing at the same time.

“God, I love you.” Matt said in between kisses with the mysterious rock star. But she then stopped kissing; he was taken aback to this.

 

“I've been waiting so long to hear you say that. I love you, too, Matt.” she said, taking off her mask.

 

“Jun?” he said. But suddenly, it didn't matter how annoying she was, only that she was there. And with that thought, they began to kiss again.

The pink princess could no longer kiss the man in front of her in mystery. She then removed her mask following with the removal of his.

 

“Joe?”, “Mimi?” they said in unison. They sat back, thinking of the wrong they had just done. But there was no wrong, Mimi thought, because it FELT right. So with that thought, they began to kiss again.

The ice princess removed the skeleton mask and then her own. Yolei was surprised to have been making out with Izzy this whole time. He smiled at her and she turned her head to hide her blushing from embarrassment. As she turned she caught sight of a masked criminal watching them. She was outraged.

 

“What are you looking at?” she yelled as she got up and towered over him, “What's your f@&!$%# problem, pervert?”

 

“I…I…” he stuttered.

 

“A$$&#!%” she said as she stomped away.

 

He pulled his mask off and ran after her.

 

“Yolei, wait!” Cody screamed over the music just to be drowned out by it and pushed aside as Izzy on his way after her.

“Before I sing my new song, I…kind of have…an announcement…Jun and I are…together.” Matt said to his fellow Digidestined as he was about to perform his new song to them, as they had always done.

 

“Congratulations.” said Tai, “I have an announcement as well…Sora and I are together.”

 

“Um…Mimi and I are together, too.” Joe said, and cracked smile. Mimi smiled back at him.

 

“Izzy and I are together, as well.” Yolei said, smiling, though glaring at Cody, being a week since their fall out.

 

“I have an announcement, too, but kind of different…I'm gay.” Said Ken, looking at his feet. Everyone was quiet. Kari broke the silence.

 

“T.K. and I are getting married!” she said. Tai just about screamed and cried. T.K. went white. Matt laughed and started to sing.

 

“Suddenly, I found myself
