Hearts of the Star 4 Cups of Noodle
“Come on, let's eat,” I smiles as I start digging through my bag. “Any particular flavors?” I ask, pulling out my favorite flavor cup of noodles, White cheddar Cheese.
“Whoa! I like Roast Beef,” J.P. announces enthusiastically.
“Don't drool all over her, J.P.,” Takuya laughs.
“I like chicken,” Tommy chimes happily.
“Me too,” Zoe agrees.
“Well, what about you two?” I ask, looking up at Koji and Takuya. “Don't you want some?”
“Count me in, I like beef,” Takuya smiles.
“Alright.”
I pull out the requested flavors and look up to ask Koji what flavor he would like only to find him walking away from camp.
Wonder what's up with him, I think as I pull out my teapot and a bottle of water. “I'll be right back,” I state after emptying the bottle of water into the teapot and hanging it above the fire the others had built while I was out cold.
I follow Koji only to find him sitting under a large tree quite a ways away from the campsite.
“Hey, is everything alright?” I ask as I stand next to him.
“Yeah, I just need some time to think,” he responds, “alone.”
“It's not good to be alone all the time,” I smile as a sad feeling rises in my gut. “Trust me, it's pretty lonely.”
I have a seat next to him, holding my black skirt down so I don't wind up showing off my underwear and embarrassing myself any more than I already have.
“Yeah, well sometimes it's good to be alone,” Koji turns his head away from me.
I tuck my shoulder length black hair behind my ear once again and sigh. “what flavor cup of noodle do you want? We can't really go looking for a missing person or anything like that on empty stomachs.”
Koji does not respond.
“You can't say you're not hungry, I heard your stomach,” I place my hand on his shoulder and send a smile his way. “Come on, let's get back, the water should be warn enough by now.”
I stand up, pulling him by his hand to his feet with me. I straighten out my ruffled black spaghetti strap shirt and adjust my silver over shirt. I take a quick glance down at my feet and tap the toes of my right black sneaker on the ground, supporting myself on my left sneaker which is silver. (finding shoes that match for me at my house was difficult and the only two pairs that actually fit happen to missing the partners due to holes.)
I look back up to see Koji walking away again.
“Hey, why do you keep walking away from me?” I ask.
There's no response so I go after him and steal his bandana from his head to reveal his black hair. Before he can stop me I turn and charge back to camp, Koji demanding that I return his bandana to him.
“Hey, there you are,” Takuya calls out as we near camp.
“Sakiko, I won't ask you again, give me back my bandana,” Koji warns.
I duck behind Takuya quickly, “If you want this back you only have to do two things,” I state holding up two fingers. “Tell me what flavor cup of noodles you'd like and enjoy them when they are finished.”
Koji rolls his eyes, “Fine, just give me a White Cheddar Cheese.”
“Sure thing,” I smile as I toss the bandana back to him.
I pour water into the cups of noodles and after three minutes everyone eats.
