Matt woke up to the sound of the van's side doors being opened and Sora ranting at the top of her lungs.
"Tai! Put that down you'll hurt yourself!" Sora exclaimed.
"It's ok, Sora. It's only luggage..."
"Leave him alone, he's fine." Akira said.
"Fine, but if he hurts himself again, don't come crying to me." Sora snapped.
"You won't have to worry about that *mom*" Hiroshi grumbled.
Matt groaned, and got out of the van.
"Good morning Sleeping Beauty." Koji cooed.
"Kieseru..." Matt grumped.
"Ooo touchy." Koji grinned.
Matt chose to ignore him and stretched.
"What time is it?" He asked.
"8:30AM." Niru replied, hefting the heavier equipment into the van.
"Time to get going." Tai smiled, loading the remainder of the luggage into the van.
"Mm, Tai. How are you feeling today?" Matt asked.
"Much better. My bones are a bit stiff though."
"I would imagine so."
After more morning chatter, a quick breakfast of Poptarts, the band loaded the rest of their stuff into the van, and were ready to set off. Sora took the first shift to drive, Niru sat in the passenger seat to navigate, Koji sat in the seat behind Niru, Hiroshi and Akira squished into the seat behind Sora and were busily making out, Tai was lying down in the very back of the van-Matt by his side.
"You didn't have to sit back here with me." Tai said, "My bones aren't that sore."
"Still. Someone should be back here with you just in case."
"So...I see Akira and Hiroshi are..."
"Uhm...yeah." Matt said, his tone a bit uncomfortable, "Akira got into the band through Hiroshi..."
Tai nodded, and rubbed the graying bruise on his thigh. Matt sighed and leaned back against the wall of the van. It took every ounce of will power in his body to stop himself from kissing Tai's bruises. It was torture enough to see his friend all bruised and beaten, but not being able to "kiss it all better" was killing him. Taichi yawned and stretched. He hadn't really gotten a good sleep knowing that Matt and Sora had slept alone in the van. He snuggled into the softest blanket and closed his eyes.

"Where's Matt?" Sora asked when it was Hiroshi's turn to drive.
"In back, watching over Tai." Akira replied.
"Okay."
Sora squeezed her way through the seats, equipment, and luggage to the very back. She pushed the privacy curtain aside, and almost choked at the sight she saw. Tai and Matt were asleep, tangled in each other's arms. Their faces were only inches apart. Sora turned red with anger, and literally shoved her way through the equipment back to her seat.
<Uh oh...looks like Matt's in trouble again> Koji thought, folding the map back up.

Tai stirred awake and yawned. He opened his eyes and blushed madly, there was Matt only inches from his face.
<He looks like an angel when he sleeps.> Tai thought, blushing.
He untangled himself from Matt, and sat up.
<We're not moving...>
"Hello?" Tai asked.
"Ah...so the lovebirds are awake." Hiroshi teased, pushing the curtain back
Tai blushed, "Only I'm awake, and we're not lovebirds."
"Oh ho? It certainly looked like you two were getting all cuddly."
Tai blushed deeper, and decided to change the subject, "S-so...where are we?"
"We're in Kofu...almost home." Hiroshi replied with a smile, "Akira and Sora went to get us lunch."
Tai nodded, and stretched stiffly.
"So?" Koji said, leaning over Hiroshi.
"So what?" Tai asked.
"Did he cop a feel off you?" Koji teased with a wide grin.
Taichi blushed and limped to his feet "For the last time. We didn't cuddle...!" Tai said, limping out of the van.
Hiroshi elbowed Koji in the ribs whom just laughed harder. Niru just shook his head and turned his discman on.

Tai went into the tiny restaurant where Sora and Akira where.
"Ah, so he's awake!" Akira said, "Hey man."
"Hi." Tai replied, making his way to the bathroom.
Sora said nothing and ordered Sukiyaki and Sushi for the band, while Akira ordered drinks. After they paid for the food, and Tai was out of the bathroom, the three of them returned to the van. Matt was now awake, and was wrestling Hiroshi for a chocolate bar.
"You'd better not be groping my boyfriend." Akira threatened with smile.
"Nah...just kicking his ass is all." Matt cheekily replied.
"Ha!" Hiroshi snorted.
"Relax you two. We've brought food!" Akira said, giggling.
"Oh baby, I love you even more!" Hiroshi grinned.
"Oh I know." Akira said, kissing Hiroshi.
Tai smiled and got back into the van-taking his carton of Sushi and Sukiyaki with him. Akira started feeding Hiroshi bits of Sushi and noodles. Niru took his carton, and handed Koji his. Sora handed Matt his carton.
"Matt...can I talk to you in private?" She asked.
"Uh...sure." Matt said, following Sora to the side alley of the restaurant. "What's up?"
"What happened back there?" She demanded.
"What?" Yamato asked.
"Don't act all innocent, I saw you two all cuddly back there."
"W-what!?"
"Yeah, that's right. I saw you two, so explain!"
"Sora, I swear, when I went to sleep we were far apart."
"I'm so sure."
"We were! So we ended up close together, so what? It didn't mean anything!"
"Fine." Sora grumbled, walking back to the van.
Matt growled, and ran a hand through his hair. Oh how he wished he could tell Sora the truth. That he had deliberately snuggled close to Tai. How it felt good to have his friend that close to him. Matt shook his head, and threw his still full carton of food into the trash. Suddenly, he had no appetite.
