I Have To Tell Him
Tai woke up from another dream. He'd been having them more and more frequently. I need to tell him soon. I'm gonna go crazy if I don't. Well, I'll tell him when he wakes up.
A few hours later Matt woke to a brooding Tai. He really needs to stop doing that. He might injure his brain. Tai then turned around and the look on his face said, "We need to talk."
"Want some breakfast Tai?"
"No."
"That's a first, you feeling ok?"
"I have to tell you something."
"So tell me. I'm not gonna hate you, you're my best friend."
"That's good to know."
Silence reigned for a few minutes before Tai spoke up again.
"Well, as I said, I have to tell you something."
"Yeah, I got that part. Look, if it makes you feel better, I promise I won't laugh at you or anything. I'll still be you're friend unless you tell me you want to kill me. So you have nothing to worry about."
"Ok, well, here goes nothing. The first part of this is that I'm gay, which I already know you're okay with, otherwise you would've ditched your pen pal in America."
"Yeah, so what's the second part that's got you so worried?"
"Well, I, um, I'm in love with you."
"Whew, that just made this so much nicer for me, thanks."
"Huh?"
Tai was thoroughly confused. He looked at his best friend who was grinning at him and chuckling.
"Tai, I wanted to tell you the same thing, remember. We had to go fight Metalspikeymon and I didn't get the chance."
"Yeah, that's right."
"I was happy that I went flying away with you. When I saw you get hit, I would've just jumped off after you anyway. This way saves me the awkwardness from everybody."
"Well, that worked out nicely. I think I will take that breakfast now though."
"I thought so. Forever thinking with your stomach."
"You know it."
Matt set about making breakfast for the two of them while Tai thought about what had just happened.
"Hey Matt, does this make me your boyfriend now?"
"Only if I'm yours."
"Ok, that means I can call you my koi."
"And I you."
