In Which Kari Has A Bad Week

By Kari-Ohki

Okay, I bet you're saying "Great, she's starting ANOTHER fic" well, duh, I am, but it's because I finished one and abandoned another. And this idea went *pop* in my head and I can't get it out! So this starts a series of things that happen to the digidestened. R&R, no flames (I don't want to become extra crispy like KFC chicken!) and enjoy this little ficcy!

Chapter 1: Monday: The Start of the Week

The day started like any other for twelve-year-old Kari Kamiya. It was a Saturday, so there was no school. So Kari decided to head for the park to hang out and possibly read, or just sit and think. She put on her usual shirt and pants, and those cool pink gloves, and left her apartment. She didn't take her camera, which was a bad thing, but that will happen later.

Twelve-year-old TK Takaishi was also going to the park, but it was for a soccer game. He hoped that his team would win this game because all season, they have lost every single game. Along the way to the park...

**WHAM**

...he literally ran into Kari.

"Oh, Kari, I'm so sorry that I crashed into you. Where are you going?" TK said, helping Kari up.

"I was going to the park to...do.....something" Kari answered. She wasn't sure of what she was going to do yet. She looked at TK. He seemed hurt in some way, but she couldn't place what was wrong. Maybe it was because.......nah, it couldn't be that she thought. "TK, is something wrong?"

"Wrong? Anything wrong? Um.....yes, I mean, no, I mean....I have to go......yeah, I have to go now, soccer game, hope I win. I guess I'll be seeing you later? Um.......yeah." TK finally managed to get out. He walked off, and when he was out of Kari's sight, he started running really fast, not because he was late, but because he wanted to get out of there.

One more person was heading to the park that day. It was twelve-year-old Davis Motomiya, and he was heading for the park to try and find Kari. He had stopped by her apartment earlier and asked Tai where she had gone. He said the park, and before he could ask anymore questions, Davis had run off, being careful not to fall into the rosebush. So he was walking, looking for Kari when...

**WHAM**

...T.K. literally ran into him.

"Ouch, my butt. Hey, T.C., you should watch where you're going!" Davis complained.

"You're the second today, Kari was the first." T.K. answered, while getting up and brushing the dirt off of him for the second time that day.

"Kari? Where's Kari? I'm looking for her. I need to...ummmmmm...give her, no...I need to...talk with her, yeah, talk!" Davis said. T.K. could tell that he was telling a complete lie.

"She"s over there, but she seems...out of it today...I don't know why." T.K. said, pointing in the direction where Kari was.

"Probably cause you did something to upset her." Davis said, while running off so that T.K. couldn't do anything to him after he said that comment.

"I'll get you back, Mini-Me!" T.K. yelled after him. He saw Davis cringe when he T.K. called him his "nickname" All of the older digidestined did. T.K. started laughing, but then stopped. He was running late, he had to get to the soccer field in...1 minute, or else the game would start without him! He ran as fast as he could, being careful not to run into any more things or people, to the soccer field on the other side of the park.

Kari was sitting on a bench when Davis showed up.

"Oh, hi Davis. Why are you here today? Do you need something?" Kari asked. Davis started blushing.

"Um...I needed...to...see you about something in school that happened." Davis answered.

"Davis, nothing happened in school. Just...nothing." Kari said, getting annoyed. "I wanted to take some pictures for an art project, but I forgot my camera, so I'm going back home to get it." Actually, she just wanted to get away from Davis.

"Okay, I'll wait for you." Davis said.

"NO! I mean, no, you shouldn't, you don't have to wait for me here." Kari answered, backing up slowly.

"Oh, okay! Then I'll go watch the soccer game!" Davis answered, without getting the hint the Kari wanted to be alone.

Meanwhile, at Kari apartment, her brother Tai, was fooling around with his best friend Matt Ishida.

"Hey, why don't we take Kari's camera and take some pictures with it?" Matt asked, looking at the expensive camera.

"Well...I don't know..." Tai said.

" We're just gonna take some pictures of the town. I need to for a school project and my camera is broken." Matt said while picking up the camera and hanging it around his neck. He fooled around, mumbling to himself, trying to find out how it worked. He pressed a dozen buttons. One was the flash button, one was the save button (AN: It's a digital camera!), and the other was the button you use to replace the memory card. When Matt pressed that button...the memory card popped out.

"Um...oops. I can put it back in, don't worry!" Mat said, while bending over to find the small square-shaped item. But as he stepped back...

**CRUNCH**

...he steeped on the card.

"MATT! Don't you know how much those cost!? Lucky it was empty..." Tai said. At that moment, Matt dropped the camera. The battery compartment popped open and one battery exploded from the shock of the fall.

"...Oops." Matt said. "Um, Tai, I...have to go to a practice...BAND practice, right now or else I'll be late, bye!" He ran out the door, but didn't get far because...

**WHAM**

...he crashed into Kari.

"Matt, I didn't know you were here. I was just coming back for my camera, I forgot it when I left earlier." Kari said, standing up.

"Your camera? Oh, yeah...it's right over there." Matt said, forgetting the little accident about three minutes earlier. Kari walked over to the table where she had put her camera. It wasn't there.

"Tai, where's my camera?" Kari asked.

"Look down." Tai said simply. "And I didn't do anything, it was Matt's fault." Kari looked down to see pieces of a memory card and...her camera, completely broken due to the battery acid. She turned around.

"...Matt...I want you...to leave...right now...and NEVER COME BACK HERE AGAIN!" Kari yelled, and she stormed off to her room, slamming the door. Matt just walked out, and Tai went into the kitchen to think. Then, the phone rang. Kari answered it from her room.

"Hello?" she said, not very cheerfully.

"Kari? I thought you were coming to see T.E. play soccer." It was Davis, calling from a pay phone.

"I was, but now I don't feel like it. I'll see you later, bye Davis" Kari hung up the phone. 'What a way to start a day.' she thought.
