Digimon Fan Fiction ❯ It'll Be All Right ❯ A Polite Visitor, a Shy Guest, a Grumpy Host ( Chapter 4 )

Kim twisted and turned all over the bed, sighing and moaning. She lied flat on her back and glared at the ceiling. She just couldn't get to sleep no matter how hard she tried.

She threw back the covers and slid out of the bed. Giving it a dirty look, she exited the bedroom and stalked down the dark, quiet hall.

Once she entered the living room, she was able to make out the outline of the couch and something hanging over the arm of it. Cautiously she rounded to the front and with moonlight filtering through maybe the only good window in the whole house she saw humorous sight.

Slumped down past the arm and onto the cushions lied Beelzebumon's head with a long arm draped over his face. His other arm rested on his stomach and his legs, as long as they were, were draped over the other arm of the couch, bent at the knees and almost touching the floor. His tail lied flat and heavy and curled on the floorboards.

She made a face and said in a deep voice, imitating Beelzebumon terribly, "I like sleepin' on the couch . . . pfft . . . what a liar," she grumbled. But then she started to smile. "That looks so uncomfortable . . ." she giggled quietly.

"But he's so nice if he's willing to torture his body like that," she whispered, taking a seat next to his tail. The couch was large enough for her to stretch out on and yet he wanted her to take the bed anyway. She smiled and glanced over at the long, metallic looking tail.

Glancing up at him to make sure he was sound asleep, Kim scooted over some and stared down at the odd looking appendage. It kept twitching, much like a cat's or a dog's when they were dreaming. It looked so cool and smooth to the touch that she couldn't resist the sudden urge to see if it were true.

Hesitantly, Kim reached out a trembling hand, hovering just an inch above it before letting it float down and she brushed her fingers lightly over the skin. She quickly looked up at Beelzebumon, looking for any change that would tell her he wasn't sleeping anymore.

When all he did was sigh heavily and absently flex the claws resting against his stomach, Kim looked back down at the tail. Well, it was cool to the touch, but it was anything but smooth. It was slightly rough feeling with multiple ridges etched along it.

But that didn't stop her from touching it again. This time she become a little bolder and pressed her fingertips firmer against it and dragged it all the way around to the tip. It twitched in response settled down again.

Grinning, she pushed it over and stroked the underside. This time it was smooth and sort of soft, the ridges almost non-existent, blending in with the dark gray skin. The texture reminded her of marble and recently pressed shirt.

When a groan was created from the dark Digimon and a long stretch from arms to legs followed by a long yawn, Kim quickly crawled away and settled behind the couch.

Silence slowly fell over the room again. For a moment there, Kim had thought he was going to wake up. She slowly stood up and peeked over the couch. He had curled up slightly with his back facing the room, but his tail remained on the floor.

Sighing with relief, Kim just watched him sleep quietly. She was still confused about everything that was happening. Maybe she shouldn't have run away from her foster home. But then, if she had stayed she probably would have gone mad from being forced to do chores every second of the day and then locked up in a dirty, bug infested closet that she could only call her room.

Besides, if she hadn't left, she would have never met Beelzebumon. Well, she couldn't really decide if that was a good thing or not. He was rude, bossy, and a complete asshole. But then, she'd probably still be wandering the desert if it weren't for him.

A smile flitted across her face as she watched him yawn and bury his head against the couch. If things went right for once, he might even become her first dependable friend. But that'd be asking too much. As long as she got back to the 'Real World', she'll be happy just being the 'runt'.

Her head snapped up when she heard a sudden gust of wind and a heavy thump outside the door. She watched it quietly. A sudden banging almost gave her a heart attack.

Taking a deep breath, trying to calm her pounding heart, Kim reached down and poked at the biker's shoulder. He mumbled something incoherent and curled up into a tighter ball, his tail curing around his leg. Making a face, Kim gripped his shoulder and shook it.

"Hey . . . hey!" she whispered, not wanting to be heard by their visitor. Another set of loud knocks assaulted the door.

"Mmm . . . damn Pineapple-Head . . . stealin' my . . . cookies . . ." he grumbled in response. Kim made a face between confusion and exasperation.

Scrunching up her face in frustration, she balled her hand into a tight fist and socked him hard in the shoulder. It didn't seem to do much, but her hand began to throb almost immediately. He opened his eyes a little

"Uh . . . wha?" Beelzebumon pushed himself up into a sitting position and let out a large yawn followed by some long stretches. He glanced over at Kim who was shaking her hand and blowing air on her knuckles.

"What the-?" He narrowed his eyes irritably. "Did you just wake me up?!" She pointed at the door.

"There's someone outside!" she hissed, just as irritated. He turned his head toward the door as the guy rasped at the door again. Sighing, he pushed himself to his feet and walked across the room.

Kim crouched low behind the couch and watched as Beelzebumon flung open the door. She couldn't exactly see their face, but someone a little taller than him stood in front of him.

"Ah, hello ol' best pal of mine who I worship!" the person greeted, sounding male. Beelzebumon grunted in reply, but didn't move.

"As much as I love having you sucking up to me, I have to ask, what the hell do you want?"

"Um . . . well, I need a place to stay . . . again. And you were just here on the way," he said, sounding sheepishly and pleading at the same time. Kim squinted her eyes, trying her best to penetrate the darkness and see his face. Beelzebumon sighed and backed away, switching on the light.

Kim shut her eyes against the bright light and dipped down completely. She heard heavy footsteps thud across the room and then the creaking of the couch as he sat down. Kim's eyes widened.

"Thank you, Beelzebumon-sama! You're a lifesaver!"

"Yeah, yeah. Just make sure ya clean up after yourself this time, all right? I let ya stay here out of the goodness of my heart, not because I want a roommate. The least ya can do is repay the favor."

She looked up to see the guy's head, which was black and smooth with long horns stretching out from the sides, the tips turned up just slightly. She also saw the top portions of what looked like wings.

((A/N: Guess who . . . lol -flings some of her hot cheetos at Warior- Good job! -mumbles- Digi fanatic -mumbles- lol))

The Digimon tensed up visibly and slowly looked around.

"I sense another presence here," he acknowledged. He tilted his head, obviously looking in Beelzebumon's, who she couldn't see at the moment, direction. "Is someone else here?"

"Er . . ." was all she heard.

"Come on now, you can tell me," he pushed.

"Well, yeah, there is, but she's asleep."

"She? Oh ho! My, my, so this is what you do when I'm not around watching you! Heh heh . . . So . . . what is she, a Lilymon or an Angewomon? Or maybe even a LadyDevimon?" he cackled evilly. Kim felt her face heat at his suggestion even if he was getting it wrong.

"Gah, no! It's nothin' like that!" Beelzebumon said quickly.

"Sure, sure."

Kim started crawling backwards. She didn't like this Digimon. It was best if she got to her room and wait until he leaves or something. But, as fate would have it, her jeans snagged on to something only a few feet away from the couch.

Mentally cursing, Kim struggled to free her leg, but in doing so, ripped it slightly. The sound seemed like a nuclear bomb had just dropped and she paled considerably.

"Hmm?" She looked up just in time to see the Digimon turn sideways on the couch, propping up one abnormally long arm, his head turned and staring at her with eyes that didn't pupils or irises. They were just red.

From his nose down to his chin was pale skin, much like Beelzebumon's, except he wore a mask of some type and Beelzebumon had a helmet.

"Well, now . . ." he said and stretched out the blue-black arm toward her, claws arched at her. Shrieking, she scrambled to avoid the hand and ended up falling backwards on her butt, her jeans tearing more until her knee was visible.

Groaning, she quickly turned over and just as she got into a running position, long, sharp fingers gripped the back of her jacket and hood and lifted up into the air like a kitten. That's probably what she looked like, too, when she picked up her knees and held them to her chest, her arms tight around them and her eyes wide.

She was swung over the couch and held higher so that he could look at her clearly. His blood-red eyes narrowed as he studied her, then an expression that only a slap across the face would receive crossed his features.

"A- a human!" he gasped. Kim kicked out, wanting to be let down.

"Beelzebumon!" she cried, frightened.

"All right, Devimon, put her down, now!" he shouted from behind her. The dark bat-like Digimon grinned, showing off his fangs, and settled her gently on the cushion next to him.

She quickly retreated to the other side, griping the arm for dear life. And here she thought Beelzebumon was scary! This guy takes the cake!

He was tall and lanky, dressed in a black skin-tight balero and loose black pants. Painted on his left shoulder was a white skull. Another was printed in a circle on the knee of his right pant leg.

Across his chest was a symbol of a yellow-orange bat and another one was printed across his left shoe. He had belts wrapped around his waist, his left thigh, and left wrist. Brownish bandages were wrapped around his right forearm all the way down to his knuckles, and she noticed that his middle finger was red.

She was also right about the wings. They were massive and bat-like with holes and tears all through them. If he had flown over, then it was a wonder that he actually made it.

"May I suggest taking a picture?" Devimon grinned devilishly. Kim fought down a blush. Beelzebumon snorted.

"You'd break the camera, Devimon," he commented. Devimon's grin fell like a stone and he glared at the biker. Kim fought back a smile.

"So . . . what's your name?" Devimon asked, smiling. Kim glanced over at Beelzebumon, who was cracking his knuckles, not in a menacing manner, just out of habit it seemed.

"Kim . . ." she replied hesitantly as she watched Devimon.

"What a nice name." She smiled shyly.

" . . . My full name is Kimberly, but I like being called Kim." Beelzebumon grunted noisily and she looked at him.

"Ya never told me your full name was Kimberly," he grouched, narrowing his eyes. She gave him a funny look.

"You never asked," she replied.

"Really? Funny, 'cause neither did he."

"Well, sorry," she grumbled darkly, looking away. Devimon smiled.

"Well, both names are very pretty." A blush rose into her cheeks.

"You would say something like that, freak." The blush suddenly flushed brighter with irritation. What was his deal anyway? Devimon was being nice to her and he was being a complete jerk to him!

"Oh, calm down," Devimon breathed with exasperation. "I'm simply complementing her. You should take some pointers. Maybe then you'll get a few more friends." Kim looked over at the Beelzebumon and cringed. He looked like he was capable of committing a homicide ten times over at any second. He flexed his claws at his sides, his three glaring eyes glued on the back of Devimon's head.

"You're flirtin' with her, ya sick bastard and ya better watch what ya say to me. If you're so good at makin' friends then why don't ya stop dirtying up my doorstep with your perverted, mangled hide?!"

"Because . . . it's because I love you . . . there, I said it . . . I love you, my hunk of biker beefcake, and I can't live without you! Oh gawd, I LOVE YOU!" Devimon cried dramatically, looking at him with shimmering eyes. Beelzebumon threw his arms up in total disgust and walked away fairly quickly. Kim's eyes bugged out and she started laughing.

"I hate it when ya start sayin' stuff like that," Beelzebumon growled from a darkly shadowed corner, his body completely hidden, but his ruby-red eyes seemingly glowed with malice at Devimon. Devimon just smirked and turned his attention back to Kim, who had settled down somewhat.

"By the way, we're not 'gay' as you humans would put it. But I do love teasing him about it. It seems to bother him a lot, as you can tell."

"Die . . ." a voice hissed ominously, coming suspiciously from Beelzebumon's hiding place. Devimon grinned.

"See?"

She nodded, not knowing how to comprehend this.

"So, how'd you come to be in the Digital World, Kimberly?" She opened her mouth to reply, when Beelzebumon suddenly stepped out of his shadow realm and stalked up to her, cutting her off.

"That's a long story." Devimon grinned.

"I like long stories." Beelzebumon scowled.

"Well, I don't. I'm tired and I want to go back to sleep. So we're all gunna shut up and go to bed at the same time, got it?" Not wanting to argue the point, Kim nodded and leapt off the couch and headed into the hall. Halfway to the bedroom, Kim paused when she heard their voice and decided to listen a little.

"What a nice girl," Devimon commented. She smiled.

"Whatever." Beelzebumon replied and she rolled her eyes. She heard the creaking of the couch, indicating that Beelzebumon had just sat down, followed by a tired sigh.

"'Going to tell me how she got here?"

"No."

"Please? I'm dying to know!" Kim smiled.

"Well, you can go die somewhere else. I'm going to sleep." Suddenly there was loud creak from the couch and a painful oof!

"Tell me a bedtime story, Beelzey-chan?" Devimon asked in a high, childish voice. Kim's eyes widened.

"Argh! GET OFF ME!!" roared Beelzebumon.

Laughing, Kim quickly retreated to the bedroom and closed the door firmly behind her.

---

Yes, Devimon is my next favorite digimon! He's really cool and sexeh. I was going to delay the update a little longer, just to see if I'd get a few more reviews, but I decided I couldn't wait. Though, I probably won't be as quick next time.

The next one is gunna be action/adventurous and such, which I'm not accustomed to writing. I'm only for romance, humor, and drama. So this is going to be a big attempt for me, lol.

Also, you need to keep in mind that Kim doesn't know any other languages other than English, and only the digimon can speak all tongue because they're programmed to, which that's my opinion. But if ya really think about, if Digimon is played all around the world, then there has to be differ languages, right?

Definitions:

sama- someone you worship

chan- ((in this situation)) guy to guy : normally childhood friends or his male lover. In this case, Devimon was fooling around and acted kinda gay-ish. ^^
