Digimon Fan Fiction ❯ Lenendary Children vs The Digimon Kaiser ❯ Chapter 2

Someone commented on the last chapter being short. I don't write by word count. I write by where I think it would end it it was an actual episode. I try to make it a decent length, but it won't always happen. This chapter starts in episode 11... I think... well when Ken is about to put the Dark Spiral on Patamon.

“Wait! Let them go!”
The Kaiser stopped with his Dark Spiral not even a foot away from Patamon. He turned toward Daisuke, “Now why would I do that? Why would I just let you win?”
“I- no...” he looked down at Veemon who nodded; he would stand beside his partner no matter what. Daisuke turned back to the Kaiser, “The other day, you were going to try to kidnap me, right? Let them go, and take me instead.”
The Kaiser considered him for a moment then nodded, “Deal. Airdramon!” He signaled one of his flying minions down to Daisuke.
Daisuke hesitated for a moment, knowing that this was the last chance he would have to change his mind, before he picked up Veemon and jumped onto the dragon digimon.
Airdramon flew back to it's master, who released Patamon and jumped up, landing just in front of Daisuke. With one final order to Flymon to destroy the Spiral on MetalGreymon's arm, the flew off out of sight.
On the ground, Taichi ran up to Agumon, who had devolved when the Spiral was removed, while the others held back. “Why do you think he did that? We could have won, why did he just surrender like that?”
Yamato looked at his brother, “I don't know, bro, I just don't know. For him to give up at all though... there's definitely something going on here that we don't know about.”

On Airdramon's back, the Kaiser turned around to look at Daisuke, “So, where you really offering yourself in exchange for them, or have you accepted my offer?”
Daisuke hugged Veemon closer, “Yeah, I accept. I'll join you.”
“Then why did you have me free those two first?”
“Because I respect Taichi-sempai, and I couldn't just ask for Agumon to be freed.”
The Kaiser watched him for a moment then turned back around to face forward. “Just don't let it get in the way next time,” he said curtly.

Far away, in a house under a lake, a little old man watched these events on a monitor. “This is not good,” he muttered, “not good at all.”

I don't remember what Gennai looked like or where he lived in Zero Two, so I'm going with what he looked like in Adventure. I wanted to get a much better reason for him to join Ken, but I couldn't get it to work. Let's just say that Miyako teased him one too many times. Ja ne.
