Digimon Fan Fiction ❯ Let the Sun Shine ❯ Chapter 1

[ P - Pre-Teen ]

I don't own Miyako or Koushiru.

Let the sun shine.

Miyako sat on the edge of the cliff in the Digital World, waiting for the sun to rise. A soft breeze blew past her, forcing her to divert her hair from her face so she wouldn't miss a milisecond of the sunrise, when it came. It had became a habbit for her, and almost addiction of hers. She had to get her 'fix', otherwise she couldn't pass the day. It was too depressing. The sunrise gave her the hope only a new day could bring to a lost soul such as herself, or at least so she considered herself.

She looked at her watch and sighed. About two more minutes. Too much time to think of depressing things. Like how much homework she had waiting for her. The fact that it was summer vacation didn't mean that students could have free time by a longshot. At least that's the way the teachers saw it.

Or like how she was considered the nerd that hung around Daisuke, Takeru and Hikari, the 'cool' kids.

Or how she totally, utterly emberresed herself by telling the guy she liked how she felt about him. She knew she showed it. She also knew that the guy liked someone. She wasn't sure who, though. But she told him, none the less. He was so taken a-back that Miyako just felt like escaping. And so she did, right through his open Pineapple laptop and into the Digital world. She then found her way home, and came back again to watch the sunrise. She sighed again as she felt someone sit next to her. She knew it was him. She could feel it.

"What do you want, Koushiru?"

She mentally slapped herself for sounding so harsh.

"The same thing you do. Best place to watch the sunrise."

She wouldn't look at him. He hesitantly placed his hand on her shoulder, and she winced as though in pain. How she had lunged for his touch, his slight show of interest in her. But now, she wished she could act like Digmon and dig herself a hole.

"Look, Miyako-Chan, about yesterday, I..."

"I'm sorry!" "I love you too."

They said at the same time, and Miyako stared at him. Koushiru just smiled warmly.

"You... You you you you you you..."

"Love you."

He sat a bit closer to her and wraped his arm around her shoulders. She blushed deeply as he pulled her closer to him. It felt good, his warmth again the empty deepthes of her soul. It felt good, just being there together. She smiled inwardly as well as outwardly. He returned her feelings...

They missed the sunrise for which they came there, as they found the same warmth and hope in each other, as they kissed.
