The football field is deserted.
Of course it is, considering that it is eleven in the evening.
A part of the football field is hidden under a thick layer of fog.
Most people would't have noticed this, as strange as it might sound.
But the skilled eyes of a Tamer or a Digimon could see it.
The fog is a Digital Field. A side-effect of a Digimon entering the real world.
Most of these so-called wild Digimon are confused and simply want to break stuff.
They are destroyed by the Tamers and their Digimon, sent back to the DigiWorld.
But the Digimon responsible for this Field never wants to return.
Never.
Using its entire willpower, the Digimon steps out of the field.
Well now. I have to hurry.

"It's... gone?" Takato asks and blinks.
Guilmon sniffs and shrugs.
"The trail ends here." the red dinosaur tells the Tamer.
Takato stares at the Digital Field that is now slowly fading.
"Do you smell Renamon or Terriermon?"
"No. this is very strange, Takato."
The young Tamer nods and frowns.
"Strange indeed."

Ruki will be annoyed. And I bet she will tell me that this has been my fault.
Renamon massages her temples, trying to clear her head.
Conflicts like this one are so wrong.
She loves this girl. But Ruki barely treats her like a living being.
Of course, things had become a little better since the Harpymon event.
But Ruki still has a short fuse, and sometimes uses the vulpine Digimon to vent her anger.
"So, what is it?" Ruki asks when she comes into the room.
Renamon can see her from her position in her little realm.
The real world looks foggy from this plane of existence.
With a single thought, Renamon switches the plane so that Ruki can see her.
The girl's fists are clenched. Renamon knows that Ruki hates long talks with her mother.
"There has been a Digital Field." Renamon tells her Tamer.
"Perfect!" Ruki mutters and grabs her card-holder.
"But it's gone by now." Renamon continues and holds her breath.
Ruki freezes and looks at Renamon.
I knew it.

Ruki's eyes become narrow slits.
Renamon gulps.
"And you didn't bother to tell me?" she whispers.
"R-Ruki, you were talking to your m-mother and-"
"And you just decided that talking to my mother is more important?" Ruki now hisses.
"Ruki. Your family is important. Trust me." Renamon whispers.
Ruki grits her teeth.
"Good-for-nothing furball."
Geez, sometimes I really wish IceDevimon had become my partner.
She blinks in surprise. Did it suddenly become colder in here?
Ruki gulps as she remembers IceDevimon's frosty grip.
No. Calm down. IceDevimon had been a monster. Always remember that.
She doesn't want to become a true Ice Queen.
Not with a partner like Renamon at her side. The Digimon actually seems to care for her.
She's probably right. Talking to Mom keeps her from spying on me.
Ruki sighs.
"I'm sorry, Renamon." she apologizes.
Renamon steps closer and raises her paw. It stops near her shoulder.
With a sigh, the paw lowers itself again.
She is still careful. Maybe even afraid.
"No, it has been my fault, Ruki." the Digimon whispers and disappears.

Ruki hadn't bothered calling Renamon again.
She didn't know what she would have done if the Digimon had appeared in front of her.
If I could just tell her that I care for her, too.
The Tamer shakes her head and changes into her nightgown.
Minutes later she is lying on her futon and closes her eyes.
She didn't wish Renamon a good night. She never did.

Renamon watches her Tamer sleep and sighs.
She had spent entire nights simply watching this sleeping beauty.
The Digimon often had to stop herself from stroking Ruki's long hair.
That would have been too invasive. And Ruki would have kicked her tail.
Renamon cocks her head. Something is wrong tonight.
Ruki stirs and moans softly. Renamon can feel herself blushing.

Ruki sighs. She had expected Takato or Lee to wake her.
Juri, Takato's classmate, has never been in her dreams before.

Still smiling, Juri leans down to the Tamer and kisses her.

She stares at the Digimon in front of here.
It feels as if she is looking into a mirror.
Standing a meter away from her is another Renamon.
But this is not just any Renamon. That would have been too easy.

Renamon steps forward and touches the other Renamon's fur.

Renamon's sister nods eagerly.
"I thought you'd feel lonely, so I came to visit you!"
Renamon does something she hasn't done for a long time: She smiles.

"Boy, it feels so good to see you again!" she shouts happily.
They embrace for a long time, and Renamon almost feels at home. Almost.
Finally Li'l Rena ends the hug and holds up a golden bangle.
"Here, this is for you." she says and locks the bangle around Renamon's wrist.
Renamon looks at the small piece of jewelry and smiles.
"Thanks." she whispers.
"No need to thank me. It's a small price for... her."
Li'l Rena points at Ruki lying in the foggy room. Renamon cocks her head.
"I want her to become my Tamer." Li'l Rena continues.
"She already has me." Renamon carefully states.
She doesn't like the look on her sister's face.
"We'll see about that. I will be hers. And she will accept me."
That being said, Li'l Rena's image becomes foggy as the Digimon enters the real world.
Cursing, Renamon enters the real world, too.
Or rather: She tries to enter the real world.
"What the-" Renamon mutters.
Then she notices that the bangle is glowing. A quick tests tells her that it is really locked around her wrist.
And Renamon realizes that she is trapped.
The fox gasps when she sees that her sister slowly removes Ruki's blanket.
Then Li'l Rena leans over the young Tamer, her tail moving quite fast now.

Soon you shall be mine. Li'l Rena thinks.
Slowly she moves her snout to Ruki's face. She knows Renamon is watching.
And she knows how helpless her sister has become.
Rena gently licks Ruki's neck, waking the girl up slowly.

Then her eyes open and widen.
"Renamon?" the girl asks, not noticing the subtle differences.
Rena smiles. She and Rena always looked like twins.

Ruki gasps, looking at the Digimon leaning over her.
"A-And... And I love you, too." Ruki finally whispers and smiles.
"You do?" Rena asks, feigning surprise.
"Yes. But I have never dared to admit it."

Ruki looks into Renamon's eyes. Those blue, mysterious eyes.
Everything seems to be perfect. All worries and doubts are gone.
"Please, Ruki. I want to become yours." Renamon suddenly whispers.
Ruki thinks about this wish.
I have always considered her to be mine. But...
"You are my partner." Ruki answers and frowns lightly.
"I want you to tame me."
Ruki suddenly has a strange feeling. She looks at her Digimon.
The moonlight coming through her door hides most of Renamon's features.
"Renamon, I already am-"
Ruki interrupts herself and gasps when she feels Renamon's paw at her crotch.

Now Ruki understands and nods weakly.
