It was getting dark and Matt was getting ready for a date with Sora. The rain was coming down and the roads were horrible. Matt didn't seem to mind. He wouldn't miss a date with Sora. To him it was just another rainy night.

 

He left the apartment him and his dad stayed in and headed to Sora's house. His dad wasn't home so he left a note on the refrigerator with dinner he prepared. There wasn't too much traffic on the road because of the weather.

 

Matt had stopped at a red light. Behind him there was a car who didn't stop because as soon as the driver hit the brakes the car skidded and hit Matt from behind. This caused Matt's car to move forward and another car didn't stop in time and hit him in the driver's side.

 

Driver # 1: “Are you okay? Can you hear me?”

 

Matt was passed out. The accident gave him fatal injuries. Two hours later Matt was in the emergency room still passed out. He was in serious condition. Everyone Matt knew and loved was there. His band mates, all the digidestined, his parents, and Izzy found away to get the digimon to the real world. The doctor came into the room with very troubling news. He had a worried look on his face. He didn't know how to break it to the ones that Matt loved.

 

Doctor: “As you already know Matt was severely hit in the back and the side. He will make it through tonight, but after tonight he might not make it. It would take a miracle for him to live more than one night in his condition.”

 

Everyone was in shock about what they just heard. Tk and Tai was the most effected. They didn't want to believe the truth. No one ever said the truth would be beautiful all the time. Tk got up and went outside to gather his thoughts.

 

For the first time Davis actually didn't get pissed when he saw Kari go after Tk.

Davis' Thoughts: `Tk must be in real pain. I know I would if I knew my brother would die.'

 

Tai was comforting Sora. She was really saddened by the news. This was someone really special to her. She really loved Matt.

 

Kari and Tk were outside. She was trying to comfort Tk, but it really wasn't working. Tk was trying to hold back his tears. He didn't want Kari to see him like this.

 

Kari: “Tk, it is okay to cry. I know you are holding back your tears. I am here for you.”

 

Tk: “Kari, I really feel like being alone right now. I'm still in shock about everything. I'll come to you when I feel like talking.”

 

Kari: “Okay.”

Kari went inside to check on the others. She was mainly worried about Tk. She was afraid he was suicidal. She also has feelings about him. She can see that Tk has those same feelings, but now would be the wrong time to find out if she was right.

 

The nurses were putting down some cots for everyone to sleep in the room with Matt. There wasn't enough room for everyone. There was only enough room for five cots and there was a couch in the room. Six people could sleep in there. Everyone else had to sleep in the waiting room. Tk came in and found Kari. He stayed close to Kari for the night.

 

Kari: “They put up cots in Matt's room. There can only be six people in the room. That it all the room can hold.”

 

Tk: “I'm one of the six who sleeps in the room.”

 

Kari figured he would go sleep in the room with his brother. Tk was in a lot of pain. He was trying to figure what he was going to say. He had to say his last goodbye to Matt soon.
