The fact that it was never supposed to happen, that Takeru's fate led to a little house with Hikari and a bustling bunch of small picture perfect babies, and Ken's led to a life with Daisuke or Miyako, that was probably the fact that made it so very inevitable that they would get together.
Takeru's wrist is slightly thicker than Ken's, and his fingers are shorter.
Ken likes to kiss the small scar on his right cheek, perhaps out of guilt, or maybe posessiveness.
Takeru's hair always smells slightly of incense, and when he sleeps he looks like a marzipan baby.
Yes, all of this is important.
Neither of them are much for showy public displays of affection, but at times when they're sitting next to each other Takeru will put his left hand over Ken's right, angled up just SO, and Ken will raise his to just the correct degree that their fingertips will touch slightly. For some reason, this looks more romantic and almost obscene than a simple makeout session would. Maybe because it's THEM.
Yamato once walked in on them kissing. The results are Not Spoken Of.
Some nights Ken lies awake with the sick foreknowledge that Takeru will leave him one day and it will likely shatter him. It keeps him awake, but it doesn't truly scare him, persay. Perhaps it's because he knows it's fate, and it's bucking fate that's got them this far.
They have made love precisely 3 and a half times as of this writing, and while they both count the half they do not agree on the exact incident it refers to.
Someday soon, Takeru plans to ask Ken to move in with him. He knows that Ken will insist on saying "No" for at least a month, so he figures he should start soon.
They both feel that recording dates for love is silly and immature. As such, they both have a complete knowledge of every important anniversary in their relationship.
