Chapter Fifteen: Oh Daddy

"What?" Cathleen merely chocked.

"Even if you move the wedding up, I'll never tell you where Takato is!"

Cathleen's father was about to grab the boy when a guard came in saying that three run away slaves have been upducated and in the dungeon and that Lee's father wanted to see all three of them. With an angry sigh, they all followed the guard to the thrown room, this is going better then I planed. Once they got there, the two kids where met up with the other three who where standing there with great horror in their eyes. Lee's heart almost stopped when he saw his love in rages and changes.

"Takato-chan!"

One of the guards took hold of the prince by the shoulders and pulled him back as he struggled. Cathleen was also being held back by two guards.

"Father, what's wrong with you? Why are you doing this?"

"What do you think? Takato is before the trial for corruption and …."

"Not so fast … we shouldn't just assume anything, you know that."

"Yes … I know …. but he has crorrupted your son …."

Takato shrank feeling very powerless and small. Croupted? What does he mean by that, Lee thought, Takato has done nothing wrong …. Nothing …

"… Nothing! Takato has done nothing wrong!"

"You may think that, Lee," Cathleen's father responded walking around him, "but how can you be so sure? He could be corrupting your mind without even knowing it."

Takato closed his eyes trying not to shake or show fear but it was impossible when he felt very vulnerable to anything that was going to come at him. Suzie slipped out of her mothers lap walked up to the shaking boy. Takato opened his eyes and looked at her for one moment.

"He has no power over Lee-kun," she said, "he's just a slave."

"Bring him forward."

Suzie nodded her head as the guards moved their hands away as she gently took Takato by the arm and pulled him forward as he bowed. He finally looked at Lee's father with tears in his eyes.

"Please have Mersey …. I beg you! When I ….."

"How dear you speak out in front of the King without permission!"

"Let him speak!" Mr. Jenyra demanded. "Go ahead."

"When I was little, I lost my mama and papa. I had masters in and out with my life and not one showed me true kindness like Lee has and I care about him …. I know that's wrong …."

Takato paused when he felt all eyes feeling as though he had the right to share it. It was like he was looking at Lee through a grow man. Mr. Jenyra looked at his son telling him to come forward. Lee walked up bowed to one knee beside his love trying not to let his emostions get the better of him.

"Hmmm. I see. What about the others?"

"Slaves." Suzie replied.

"Dad, please," Lee pleated, "I've been meaning to tell you … but I wanted to wait for the right moment to tell you."

"Are you telling me that you are not ready to be king? How do you feel Cathleen?"

"Well, I …. I'm not ready either."

"Just like your mother," Mrs. Jenyra smiled, "always honest and considerate."

No, this can't be happening, Cathleen's father thought watching the guards unchaining the prisoners as he got out his gun aiming it Takato. If Mr. Jenyra won't get rid of the thorn from under my foot I will! Cathleen's eyes grew in horror as she ran up shielding the boy with her body as the bullets hit causing her to shake and gage. Blood socked threw her shirt as she slowly sank to the floor.

Everyone crowed around but Cathleen's dad who dropped the gun with great horror in his eyes. Not believing what took place. Why? Why did she do that? He was so deep in thought that he didn't realize that he was arrested for a tempt of murder.

"Why? Why did you do that?" Takato chocked with tears in his eyes.

"You're my friend … and …. I couldn't let my … my father kill you just … just because of his …. his foolishness …"

"There's got to be something we can do."

"I'm afraid not. The bullets are really deep." Kenta told them.

"No! Kenta, go get the fastest Owl you can find and write a letter Prince Yamato and tell him we need some help! Go now!" Lee ordered.

"Right away!"

The boy turned and ran out of the room with his boyfriend running close behind leaving the there's to watch over the dying girl in Lee's arms.part 16
