Chapter 4

TK: Uh, Matt, I¡¦m going to bed. Aren¡¦t you
going to bed now?

Matt: I¡¦m staying here, unless something happens
to Mimi.

TK: (Smirking) Good choice, I¡¦ll support
you!

Matt: TK¡K

TK: Night Matt.

Matt: Night. (Whispering to Mimi) Night

Chapter 5

<Mimi¡¦s POV>

When I woke up the next morning, everything
was blurred, until when I turn around, a came face to face with Matt. He was
asleep. Was he there for the whole night? Gosh I have a terrible headache! I
lift myself up slowly and silently, trying my best not to wake Matt up, but
unfortunately, I did.

Matt: Mimi! Are you OK? (feels her
forehead) Have you still got fever? Please, lie down.

Mimi: No big deal, I feel OK. What
happened? I thought I was at Kana¡¦s.

Matt: You were drunk last night, and your
friends think it is better to send you back here. You had a fever too.

Mimi: I did? No wonder I have a terrible
headache. (feels forehead)

Matt: Are you hungry? I¡¦ll cook some congee
for you. Joe said you couldn¡¦t eat anything oily or fried.

Mimi: Sure, you know how to cook?
(surprised)

Matt: Of course I do, but I¡¦m too lazy.

Ding dong!!

Matt: Now who can that be? (turns to Mimi)
Wait a sec, I¡¦ll go and open the door. (leaves)

Just then, Sora and Kari along with Tai
came running into my room.

Sora: Mimi! Are you OK? How are you
feeling? (worried)

Kari: You shouldn¡¦t drink that much beer.

Mimi: Yeah I¡¦m fine. Can I get out of bed?

Matt: Sure. (Turns to Tai) Have you guys
eaten breakfast yet?

Tai: No, this morning Sora called and she
told me she was coming over and Kari heard that and she wanted to come over
either to see Mimi or TK and she pulled me out.

Matt: Oh, I¡¦m cooking some congee, would
you guys want some?

Sora: I never thought that Matt would
actually cook something.

Matt: It depends. (leaves for the kitchen)

Kari: Hey where¡¦s TK?

Mimi: He¡¦s sleeping I think, in this room.
(points to TK¡¦s room)

Kari: (smirking) Let me wake him up. (goes
into TK¡¦s room)

TK: (screaming) When did you get here?

Mimi and Sora: (giggle)

Matt: Congee is ready!

Kari: Get up TK.

TK: I am up.

Mimi: Come on let¡¦s have some congee.
(heads to the table)

Soon we were all sitting around the table
eating congee.

Sora: Mmm, I never thought that Matt could
cook something so delicious!

Kari: Scrumptious!

Mimi: When are we going to Hokkaido?

Tai: 27/12. Joe went to the travel agency
yesterday and got the plane tickets.

Mimi: Oh I can¡¦t wait!

<Matt¡¦s POV>

(3 days later, Christmas Eve)

Today is Christmas Eve. Everything is just
going fine. Mimi¡¦s sickness had just cleared up, and she is as energetic as
usual, always going shopping and meetings with friends, cooking breakfast and
dinner for us and cleaning up the flat. Tonight we¡¦re going to this Christmas
Party.

Tai: Cheers for the reunion of the digidestined!!

All: Cheers!

Mimi: This is the best Christmas I¡¦ve ever
had! With everyone here!

Sora: I¡¦m just so glad that you¡¦ve come
back.

TK: Yeah, this is the first real reunion,
because every time you¡¦re missing.

Kari: When¡¦ll you be leaving?

Mimi: 4th January.

Yolei: That¡¦s too bad.

Mimi: Stop talking about that. This is a
party! Come on, why don¡¦t we dance?

Tai: Yeah, come on Sora, let¡¦s dance.
(heads to the ball room)

Davis: Hey, I want to dance with Kari! Move
over TA.

TK: Kari promised to dance with me!

Kari: Save you a dance, Davis. (To TK) Come
on. (both head to ball room)

Davis: (fuming) Why does TA get everything?

Cody: It¡¦s OK; Kari said she¡¦ll save you a
dance.

Yolei: Izzy, wanna dance?

Izzy: Uh, I don¡¦t know how to dance.

Yolei: I¡¦ll show you¡K (both head to ball
room)

Mimi: (To Matt, Joe, Cody and Ken) Oh my¡K
come on! You¡¦re guys!

Joe: Doesn¡¦t mean we know how to dance.

Kana: Mimi?

Mimi: Hey Kana!

Miyuki, Kako, Miko, Hokuto: Hey!

Miyuki: You¡¦re Yamato Ishida?! Can you
dance with me?

Matt: Uh¡Ksure.

I headed to the ball room with Miyuki. For
real I didn¡¦t want to dance with anyone else but Mimi, but since she was one of
Mimi¡¦s friends, I shouldn¡¦t turn her down. I saw Joe dancing with Mimi, Kana
dancing with Ken and Cody dancing with Miko. Then I switch partners with Ken,
and Kana became my partner.

Kana: So, Matt.

Matt: Huh?

Kana: Do you like Mimi?

Matt: (pause) Why are you asking?

Kana: Answer me. Do you like Mimi?

Matt: What makes you think I like her?

Kana: I can see I can tell and I can feel.

What a smart girl.

Matt: From what?

Kana: I can see from the way you look at
her and I can feel that you were upset that Mimi didn¡¦t dance with you, right?

Matt: How¡K

Kana: Because.(wink). She was upset because
she thought you didn¡¦t like her, and that¡¦s why she was drunk that night.

Matt: But¡K

Kana: Come on, this might be you¡¦re only
chance, you¡¦re lucky that she¡¦s back and she¡¦s giving you the second chance.

That was what TK said to me that morning.
Was I that obvious? Why does everyone know I like Mimi?

Matt: Uh¡K

Kana: That¡¦s all I can say, everything is
up to you, not anyone else. Mimi needs someone.

Matt: I know¡K

Kana: Gotta go, good luck.

Matt: Thanks. (heads back to the group)

Kana was right. But she¡¦s too good for me,
what if I can¡¦t give her happiness? Protection?

Tai: Hey Matt. Wanna have some cookies?

Matt: Thanks Tai.

Sora: You don¡¦t look too good.

Matt: I¡¦m perfectly fine. It¡¦s Christmas
Eve! Everyone suppose to be joyful!

Mimi: Hey guys, there¡¦s a series of fast
songs coming up, come and dance!

The whole group rushed to the ballroom and
were dancing like crazy, totally forgetting themselves. As the clock stroke
twelve, I wished secretly in my heart ¡V Merry Christmas to my friends, and
Mimi.
