Teena: Okay, still no torture, this is sorta just 'think things over'
time, I think...

Ken: *frowns* I'm getting tired of waiting.

Teena: So am I, but this story seems to want to have a plot... A really
SLOW-MOVING plot...

YT: Good!

Princeling
Part 6

After Ken's startling revelation, he had left, the other Digidestined
too stunned to even make an attempt to stop him. Miyako was near tears,
trying not to believe it.

"He CAN'T love Daisuke! Daisuke's a boy, and he's the new Kaizer! Daisuke
must've done something to him, brainwashed him or something!"

Hikari placed a gentle hand on her jogress partner's shoulder. "Miyako,
stop. That's not true, and you know it isn't. It's always been about
Daisuke for Ken. You just didn't want to see it."

As Miyako slumped, Iori stepped up to them. "We should leave. We need
to talk to the older Digidestined, and decide what we're going to do
about Daisuke's ultimatum."

"What needs to be decided?" Takeru asked, like the answer was obvious.
"There's no way we can just leave the Digial world to Daisuke."

"Frankly, Takeru, I don't really think you and Hikari have shown very
good judgement about Daisuke at all. So I don't think your opinion on
the matter counts very much," Iori said, his green eyes surprisingly
cold. Takeru stared at his jogress partner in shock, unused to Iori
speaking so bluntly to him.

"You aren't saying this is MY fault, are you?"

"Actually... I think I am. If you and Hikari had treated Daisuke like
a human being instead of an annoyance, he might still be with us."

"But-" Takeru started, only to be cut off.

"I don't think I want to hear it, Takeru. Let's just go," Iori stated,
heading for the closest Digiport. The others chased after him, leaving
the conversation for later.

In the fortress, Daisuke watched calmly as the dots representing the
Digidestined vanished from the screen. A small smile curved his lips
as he reached up to lightly touch the purple dot that was heading back
towards the indicator for the fortress.

"Ken... You really are coming back, aren't you? I gave you a chance to
get away, but you're coming back to me."

"Isn't there some cliche from your world? 'If you love something, let it
go'. That's the one, right?"

"That's the one, Elecmon... 'And if it comes back to you, it was yours
all along'."

"...Too bad no mon was dumb enough to bet against him coming back."

Daisuke shot Elecmon a suspicious look. "Do you guys know something I
don't?"

"Lots of things," Elecmon replied, grinning. "But in this case, it's
just objectivity."

"Figures... Get lost, Elecmon, I wanna sit and flake out for a while."

"Your wish is my command, O Mighty Kaizer," Elecmon said sarcastically,
bowing as well as he could before heading for the door.

"And knock that off!"

Elecmon scampered out quickly, pretending not to have heard him. Daisuke
sighed and turned back to his screens. "Video feed X29."

The symbol-covered representation of the Digital World cleared, replaced
by a view of Ken, sitting on Airdramon's head with Chibimon in his lap and
Wormmon at his side. Ken was blushing brightly, and evidently trying to
explain something to Chibimon. Wormmon's antennae were curled up, the little
bug was fighting laughter.

"Audio."

"...really hard to explain this, and you're NOT helping, Wormmon!"

"If you'd just go ahead and tell him, instead of trying to dance around it,
this wouldn't be taking so long, Ken-chan."

"YOU try looking into those big, naive eyes and telling him I'm sleeping
with his partner!"

"I don't need to," Wormmon said with faint smugness. "You just did."

Daisuke started laughing as Ken paled dramatically. "I did, didn't I?
Uh-oh..."

"OH, so you and Daisuke are like the guys on that one TV channel? The
naked ones? I knew Daisuke liked you, but he didn't say anything about
doing THAT."

Daisuke's laugh turned into a coughing fit as that comment registered.
"Ohmigod! Jun was telling the TRUTH? It really wasn't her? Mom and Dad
grounded her for watching gay porn!"

"You're allowed to watch that?!" Ken choked out. Chibimon blinked at
him.

"I was supposed to get permission?"

"Uh... Probably," Wormmon told Chibimon, eyes wide. Chibimon meeped a
bit.

"Oh, well... Too late now, right?"

"We are approaching the Master's fortress," Airdramon rumbled, breaking
into the conversation, much to Ken's relief, apparently.

"Screen off," Daisuke commanded, standing up as the screen went blank.
"Guess I'd better go meet them..."

Daisuke walked out of the control room, heading straight for the large
Airdramon stables. As the Airdramon flew inside and settled to the ground,
he walked forward.

"Welcome home."

Teena: Wow... Iori told Takeru off... I didn't even see that coming...

Yamato: ...You're the AUTHOR! How could you not have seen it coming?

Teena: I never have more than vague plans for my fics, you know that.
My fics come from you guys, through my subconscious, and out my fingers.

Ken: How long before we get to torture Takeru and Hikari?

Teena: I'm not sure... Maybe two more chapters? I think I'm going to have
one with a 'Destined meeting... *clutches her temples* Argh! Overplanning
headache!

Taichi: You are SO faking.
