Raven: Yo, people! Long time no see.

Kagome: *rolls eyes* That's a muse for you. *clears throat* All right, people, this is a Taiken/Kenichi fanfic, okay?

Raven: Whoohoo! Yaoi!

Kagome: *mutters* Hentai. This shouldn't surprise you anymore. We have yet to write a fanfic that didn't contain yaoi in it.

Raven: *smirks* That's because I like yaoi, and I give you ideas, therefore all your stories will be yaoi. *laughs wickedly*

Kagome: Raven! *snarls* You've just earned your punishment *grabs Raven and throws her out the window*

Raven: Aaahhh!

Kagome: Maybe that'll teach her. *smirks*

Raven: Hidoi! (You're cruel)

Kagome: Shut up! On with the fic.

Chapter One: The Request

Taichi stood in his living room, arms crossed, staring down at his young worshipper, who was sprawled across the couch. Daisuke had shown up at his apartment about half an hour earlier and made a request. Ever since he had spoken, silence had reigned in the Yagami residence.

Sighing, Taich broke the endless silence. "Explain to me, again, why you think I'll be able to help him, when you can't, even though you're his best friend."

Daisuke also sighed, straightening up on the couch and tucking his knees under his chin. "Because I'm dating Yamato," he stated. "Therefore, I can't do it myself." He met his idol's eyes and admitted, "Still, if I thought it would help him, I'd gladly do it myself, but all it would do is make him feel guilty, since I'm with Yamato."

"Ah," was Taichi's only reply. Silence once again enveloped the room as the soccer god thought about Daisuke's logic. It was true, he admitted. Dai was with Yamato, and if he dated Ken, it would be cheating, but still………

"Why else?" he asked abruptly, causing the smaller brunette on the couch to jump and look at him, puzzled. Taichi clarified, "Why did you come to me with this? There are others you could've asked. Why me?"

Daisuke grinned, then began counting off on his fingers. "One, Ken likes guys, so that rules out Sora, Kari, Yolei, and Mimi. Two, you're gay as well, so that works out rather nicely. Three, you're single, and so is Ichijouji, so you wouldn't have to worry about cheating on anybody. Four, everybody agrees that we're very similar, and that's the type of personality Ken needs in a boyfriend-one who can help him keep the darkness at bay, lend him courage, and offer him friendship."

Taichi interrupted here. "Yeah, but only you hold both the Crests of Courage and Friendship, Dai-kun. I only hold Courage." Daisuke just shook his head. "You don't have to be the keeper of the Crest of Friendship to offer friendship, Tai. You know that as well as I do."

Dai glanced up at Taichi, who was staring at him, dumbfounded. "Do you need more reasons?" he asked.

The original Goggle Boy just blinked and shook his head. He was still floored from Dai's recent demonstration of his intelligence and insight, and it left him reeling. "You have more reasons?" he choked out. Daisuke nodded and opened his mouth, no doubt to demonstrate to his idol. Tai cut him off, stating, "All right. I'll try it."

Daisuke just blinked for a few seconds, absorbing the rapid change in direction. Once his brain had filtered Taichi's sentence, he jumped up with an enormous grin on his face and glomped the older boy enthusiastically.

"Thank you so much!" he exclaimed. "I owe you one!" And with that, he headed out of the apartment, his mission for the day accomplished, leaving him free to spend the rest of the afternoon with his boyfriend.

Taich just stood in the middle of the living room, dazed at the whirlwind that was Daisukd that had just blown out his door. After several long moments, he sighed and headed for the kitchen to fix himself some dinner and to plan his next move.

Kagome: All right. I know that this chapter was rather boring, and short, but I needed some background. Next chapter will be from Ken's point of view.

Raven: Whoohoo! Bishounen is served! *cheers and dances around room*

Kagome: *glares* How'd you get back here so fast? It usually takes longer than this for you to recover after I've thrown you out a window.

Raven: Oh………um………*gulps* well, I kinda had some help.

Kagome: Oh? What kind of help?

Raven: The metaphysical kind?

Kagome: *rolls eyes* I'm not even going to ask.
