Chapter 2

"D, Dawn??" Matt asked.

"...Is Dawn my name...?" Dawn asked.

"....Is that really you, Dawn?" Matt asked as he walked closer to her. He then wrapped his arms around her tightly.

"Dawn, it's me....Matt...and your sister, Midnight." Matt explained.

"Matt? Midnight?" Dawn asked, feeling a bit confused.

"Yes, Dawn." Midnight replied.

"Why do you keep calling me Dawn??" Dawn asked. Matt let go and looked at her with a surprised look.

"Don't tell me that.....?" Matt began.

"She....she lost her memory......?" Midnight finished. "But how...?"

"No....this can't be...how could she be alive and walking again? And why doesn't she have any memories of who she is?" Matt asked.

"Maybe we should call everyone over...." Midnight said. Matt looked over at her and nodded.

~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~
"Sh-Sh-S HE'S ALIVE???????????????????" Izzy asked. "But that's impossible! We all were at the hospital when she was confirmed dead....we were all there when she was shot. We ALL saw it!"

"Calm down, Izzy..." Sora said. "There must be a reasonable explanation for this..."

"Yeah, if you can find it, be our guest and tell us." T.K said.

"Really." Kari added. "She looks exactly like Dawn. How do we know that's just not some kind of impersonator or something like that?"

"Good question." Matt said as he crossed his arms. "All of you are in doubt that this is Dawn, but I have a good feeling that it is her....it's just that she doesn't know who she is."

"It's just really incredible to see that Dawn is walking among us all once again..." Tai said.

"Yes...I know it sounds a little weird, but I can recognize Dawn anywhere." Matt replied.

"I believe there's a resurrection involved in this." Midnight said.

"IS SHE A VAMPIRE?!" Davis asked, but then Yolei bopped him on the head.

"No, you moron! People are bitten before they become vampires!" She said.

"How do you think she was resurrected? And by whom?" T.K asked, continuing the serious conversation.

"Good question....It's kinda odd that she can't remember anything, only Matt and this apartment..." Izzy began. "I wonder what happened..."

"Is it possible that the Digital World has something to do with this?" Joe asked.

"Dunno...It might not have anything related to that at all. It could be anything." Tai said, crossing his arms.

"Ever since she's been here, she's been in Matt's room. She hasn't come out yet. Dawn just went in and laid down." Midnight explained. "She hasn't said a word to anyone."

"She's gotta be trying to find the answers..." Matt said in his low tone.

"Answers? Oh, you mean coming back to life all of a sudden?" Joe asked.

"Not just her resurrection....there's got to be a million things that are on her mind that are left unanswered." Matt replied.

"Like what?" Yolei questioned.

"I don't know." Matt said lowering his head.

"Dawn has to open up to us. If she doesn't, we'll never know......And we're all involved in this now. We are a team." Sora said.

"She's right. Someone has to talk to her about this." Kari added.

"....I'll be the one to do it." Matt replied. "Dawns' still my girlfriend and I should be helping her out....something that I've never done a good job of.....but I'm going to try really hard to do whatever I can now."

"Good. Do you want us to go out for a little while for you two to be alone?" T.K. asked.

"Yeah. I think I'm gonna need the time with her."

"All right then. We'll come back in a little while, okay?" Joe asked.

"Sure thing." Matt said. The group left, and Matt slowly walked over to his door. He gently knocked on it, and heard a light, "Who is it?" from Dawn, in her weak tone. "It's me, Matt...Can I come in?" He asked. Dawn replied with a yes, and Matt opened the door to find her on his bed, holding a pillow tightly, wearing on of Matt's school shirts instead of what she was wearing earlier. She looked like she had been crying for a while....her eyes showed it. Matt walked over to her and sat on the side of the bed next to her.

"How are you?" He asked.

"Confused...." Dawn replied in her soft tone.

".....Do you wanna talk?" Matt asked.

"About what? There's nothing I can talk about....Nothing."

"Yes there is. You've been keeping your feelings all pent up inside of yourself. You would feel better if you opened up to someone. That's what you used to tell me when I was the same way." Matt said with a small grin, but Dawn looked down at the pillow that she had been holding close to her. It was no use. Matt slowly got up and began to walk away, knowing that Dawn still needed her time to herself. Just as he was about to close the door after him, he heard her say, "Why....?"

"Why what, Dawn?" Matt stopped and turn back to her.

"Why did I come back to life? Why now?"

"That's what we're trying to figure out Dawn....but aren't you happy about you being alive?"

"No! Coming back to life, and not knowing who you are is scary. I don't even know who I am...or what my purpose on Earth was supposed to be. I didn't know where I was going and all at the same time, I knew....I'm not sure how. I don't even remember what happened before I died." Matt was silent and then took a deep breath.

"We were all in a hard-fought battle. You faced a man named Don Corneo alone, and you were able to defeat him....but we didn't know he was just living until after he pulled the trigger on the gun to shoot you in the back. We rushed you to the hospital in my arms, but it was too late....I still feel like it was my fault who didn't save you. I am very surprised to see you in physical form, but I am happy. Happy to see that beautiful face of yours....with those beautiful eyes....and just to have one touch with those soft hands of yours would be like heaven to me."

"............"

"I want you to give yourself all the time in the world that you need to try to find yourself...I just hope you can get your memories back ....so that...you could remember us....." Matt said as he took her hands into his. "Do you even know how you were resurrected?"

"No. I just remember waking up in a grave yard....that's it." She said. "But....this room.......I feel like I had many memories here..."

"You did....When we were kids, we used to play here, and a little more recently....we....slept together."

"...Slept together?"

"...We had sex........" Matt said in a low and soft tone. "And I must say, it was fantastic... it was one of the best nights of my life with you...to be able to be that close to you for the first time was just incredible. If there were such a thing of having it in one of the top five memories, that would definitely be there...along with our first kiss..."

"I wish I could say something about these 'memories'...but they can't be a memory for me if I can't even remember them."

"I know, Dawn...I want to be able to return your memory as soon as possible. I'm going to ask your sister, Midnight, to find a spell that has something to do with a returning memory. We'll find answers..."

"...And in the meantime?" Dawn asked.

"I...I don't know yet...." Matt said. "I just wish there was something I could do to make you remember....But I'm not going to give up on this...you know that, right? I'd never give up on you." He leaned in closer to her and gave her a peck on the cheek.

"You better get some sleep, okay? If you need me, I'll be in the living room." Matt said. He gave her a tight hug, and then walked out of the room. Dawn watched him as he walked out, not able to say a word to him. Why can't I remember..? Dawn thought to herself as she held her forehead. .Everything is drawing a blank in my mind....even that boy...He says I know him as my boyfriend, but I can't even remember that....Why is everything making it so difficult for me? What am I supposed to do? She laid down on the bed and went into deep thought, until she fell asleep.

~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~
Words... .....Sounds.....I can hear something in the distance but I'm not sure what, Dawn thought. She was in pure darkness. "Where am I now? What's happening? Who's trying to speak to me?" There was no reply.

"Hello....?" Dawn asked. "Please...whoever's there...can you please tell me what's going on?"

"Queen....Please help us! Please save this world!" voices said as they continued to chant it.

"What....?" Dawn asked. "What are you talking about?"

"You must protect us from the evil! Queen, don't let this world crumble like the last one."

"You must be mistaking me with someone. I'm no queen...."

"You must protect this dimension! It is in trouble!"

"What do you want me to do about it? I have my own problems right now trying to figure out who I am! I have no memory of my past whatsoever!"

"Queen Dawn...! Save this world! Protect it from evil!"

"Stop it! Don't you see I'm not a queen! Please! Leave me alone!" Dawn said as she stepped back, hoping that the voices would back off. But unfortunately for her, the voices got louder and louder, not once stopping hear her requests. They kept chanting some more, making it harder to tolerate. Dawn held her head tight, trying to close off any sounds that were coming to her ears. It was useless, because they got even louder, and then she began to hear destructive noises such as gundfire and explosions She dropped to her knees, feeling like she was going to blow. She began spinning in a circle without even moving, making every turn harder to see or think straight.

"Matt.....!" Dawn shouted. Before she knew it, she ended up falling as she continued to spin. "AAaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaahhhhhhhhh......!!"

~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~ *~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~
Dawn immediately sat up on the bed. She was in complete shock, panting over how horrid the nightmare was. Dawn pulled her legs up towards her so she could place her head on them. She held her knees tightly and began to cry. Even though she had all these people that cared for her, it felt like she was all alone. It was just too painful, Dawn thought. All those screams...what do they want with me? How can I help them, when I can't even help myself?? I can't bare another moment like that...If I did... Just then Matt opened the door, to find Dawn crying. He gave her a surprised look and then walked over to her side of the bed.

"Dawn, what's wrong?" Matt asked. "What happened? I heard a scream come from here."

"Matt...It was horrible....This nightmare...."

"It's all right, Dawn. I'm here. It was only a dream." Matt said as he held her close to him while she cried in his arms.

"I'm too afraid to fall asleep....I feel like it's going to happen again." Dawn cried, muffled by Matt's shirt.

"What's going to happen again?" Matt asked.

"These nightmares.....of people screaming....and gunfire....and war....I can't stand it." Dawn sobbed. Matt looked down at her and then looked away.

"Dawn, if you want me to, I can stay with you until you fall asleep." Matt said to her. Dawn nodded, and then Matt laid back on the headboard of the bed while Dawn laid down next to him. She stayed very close with him, not wanting once to let go of him. She never noticed how safe she felt with him. Matt wrapped his arm around her waist and rested his head on top of hers. He felt better to think that he was with her again, but if she ever returned her memory, things would be a lot different between them. Matt also felt bad that Dawn was having such trouble trying to remember. And the fact remained that she was still very vulernable. In some cases, it was a good thing, and then in others, it would be a different matter. Matt knew that he was going to protect her, even if it meant his life. He was tired of feeling weak, and if anything was going to happen to Dawn, he would be right there.

~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~
"You got everything?" T.K. asked his big brother, on his way out the door.

"Yeah. I got my books, guitar, and me....Heh, heh...I think I should be okay." Matt smiled. "But, T.K., do you really think that it's okay I go to practice, leaving Dawn here?"

"I said I would watch her for a couple hours." T.K. said. "you need to be there for your practice so you can get some more gigs...and some more money to pay me back all the loans you owe me."

"But Dawn also needs me too right now, I think that's a little bit more important, right?"

"Don't worry about it. I got it all covered." T.K. said.

"All right. I'm going to check on Dawn before I go to say goodbye." Matt said. He set down his guitar and walked over to his room. When he opened the door, he found Dawn.....completely naked! She was just getting dressed into some clothes and she was caught off guard. His face flushed red and looked down.

"Oh! Sorry Dawn!" He said nervously. "I didn't mean to catch you at a time like this!"

"Oh, Matt!" Dawn said, beginning to blush profusely. She then put one of his long t-shirts that was in a drawer on.

"Hey, what's going on? I thought I heard a shout or something-" T.K. said as he opened up the door even further. When he got in, he noticed that Dawn was just putting on the t-shirt.

"Uh...Um..." He hesitated. Matt then turned around and began to push him out of the room.

"H-hey! You can't watch this! Mom would kill you if she found this out...Heck, I'm gonna now have to kill you if you don't get out of this room RIGHT now!" He said.

"But you can't even let anyone see how great of a FIGURE Dawn has?? I mean, she's got a great bre-!"

"OUT!" Matt said and closed the door after him. Dawn finally finished buttoning the shirt up.

"I'm sorry." Matt said as he turned to her, scratching the back of his head.. "T.K. can be a real pervert sometimes...."(yeah right....everyone knows that T.K. could never be a pervert...but this is just a fic, so don't go getting all jumpy on me sayin' that he'd never do that...I know that!)

"No, I'm sorry." Dawn said. "It was my fault for not even paying attention as to who was coming in....."

"It wasn't any of our faults...it was all by accident..." Matt smiled. "But hey...It wasn't a bad three-second show anyways...!" He gave a chuckle.

"Matt..!"

"I'm kidding!" Matt chuckled. The two ended up in silence, not knowing what to say to each other. Matt then cleared his throat.

"Umm...I'm going to be going to practice for my band, so I'll be gone for a couple of hours...T.K. will be here if you need anything and you're sister, Midnight will be over in a short while."

"Sister?" Dawn asked, feeling a bit confused.

"Yeah. She looks almost just like you, except her hair is black and has tints of blue on the ends on her hair...You can't miss her." Matt said. "If you have any kind of problems at all, T.K. has my cell phone number and he can call me. I will leave it on the whole time for you if you need to talk to me about anything...even if it sounds insignificant, call."

"O...Okay" Dawn said in a low tone. Matt walked over to her and gave her a somewhat tight hug.

"I'll be back as soon as I can, okay?"

"Yeah...sure...." Dawn replied, giving him a timid smile. He leaned himself in and gave her a soft peck. And with that, Matt walked out of the room and left the apartment.

~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~
Dawn looked around the apartment, trying to find things that were familiar to her. She looked over by the shelves and noticed that there were books and music cases in them. Once Cd case captured her eye. Dawn turned to it and pulled it out of the shelf and began to examine it. It was a picture of......her. Why am I on this thing anyways? She asked herself.

"That's your album.." T.K. said as he walked over to her. "You were a pretty famous singer before you passed away...."

"I was...a singer....?" Dawn repeated. She looked at the CD, and then she took it out of its case and set it into the stereo. Dawn then pressed play, beginning to hear a girl's voice play. Is this really me? Dawn thought. Could I have really been a singer? Famous? And with a very cute guy?

"Life must have been perfect for the old Dawn." She said.

"That's not entirely true." T.K. said. "your family was killed a little while back and you were forced into the music business. After we all came back from the DigiWorld, you just happened to disappear into their grasp...and we never saw you until three years later."

"Three years...?" Dawn said to herself in a low tone. "I must've been busy."

"Yeah..." T.K. said, lowering his head. "You know, Dawn?" She then turned around and gave him her full attention.

"Everyone here is willing to help you, you know that, right?" He asked.

"Yeah...I guess so..." Dawn responded.

"I mean, if you don't ask us about anything, it makes it harder for you to regain a clear conscious of your memory...And since you're apart of all of us one way or another, like you being Matt's girlfriend, and then you acting like a big sister to me, it takes apart not only you, but the rest of us...Because we're a team...and we don't separate...we are united as one."

".......This is just all so confusing for me." Dawn said, holding her head, feeling like she was going to fall.

"Don't try to take it all in at once, Dawn." T.K. said. Just then, her eyes opened wide, for she was about to have another vision come right at her like a truck. She was thrown over to the shelf with all the cds and books, making everything fall over. She tried to hold onto it for balance, but the vision wouldn't let her. She fell to her knees and held her head.

"Dawn, what's wrong??" T.K. asked, going down to her level.

"It's my head....! There's such...splitting....PAIN..." Dawn replied. Suddenly, Midnight walked through the door and she noticed that the two were having some kind of problems.

"T.K.! What's going on?" She asked.

"I don't know...she just fell...She said her head began to really hurt." T.K. replied.

"Let's put her on the couch...." Midnight said. T.K. nodded and he scooped Dawn into his arms and set her down on the couch. Her vision continued to bring pain towards her whole body.

"What's going on with her, Midnight? Is she going to be all right?" T.K. asked.

"It's just one of the many phases of the visions she's recieving..." Midnight responded. "Hopefully she'll be okay."

"Is there anything we can do to stop it??"

"I'm sorry...there isn't." Midnight replied, while Dawn continued to struggle. She saw the same thing from last night, unable to shake it, and then there were new scenes that she never saw. She saw that Matt was on his bed, severely bleeding, and then he saw a woman that was dark, and had a long black dress. The images she was recieving were coming so rapid, that she didn't know what to do first. Finally, the visions had finally stopped. Her eyes opened a little, letting her vision clear up to see that Midnight and T.K. were looking at her with their concerned looks.

"You okay now?" Midnight asked.

"It...it hurts...." Dawn said as she curled up on the couch, not wanting to move from her spot. Tears were beginning to form in her eyes, but she tried to hold them back. "Why do I have to deal with these painful things?"

~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~
The band was just taking a break from the continuous practice that they were doing. Matt sat on a couch and sighed. Suddenly, before he could do anything else, his phone rang and immediately picked it up. "Hello?" He answered.

"Hey, Matt. It's me, T.K."

"T.K., is there something wrong?"

"Dawn had another one of those visions..." T.K. said in a low tone. "And it was much worse from what you told me about last night." Matt's eyes widened in fear.

"Is Dawn all right??" Matt asked.

"She's....she's okay for now...A little bit traumatized by it though....but she said she wanted to talk to you right now."

"All right. Put her on the phone right now." Matt said. As he waited for T.K. to get Dawn, he tapped his foot nervously, wondering about how much pain Dawn was going through because each moment she was in pain, he felt really bad and wanted to help her in some way. When Matt heard the phone being picked up, he heard sniffing, and a bit of sobbing.

"...Dawn?" He asked.

"Matt...." Dawn replied.

"Dawn, tell me. What happened?"

"It was so frightening....I saw that you were bleeding to death on your bed and there was nothing I could do about it. I saw more screaming and there was more gunfire....I...I can't deal with another dream like that if it comes again....If I tried....I.......I.........I just might shatter...."

"Take it easy, Dawn...Nothing's going to happen, okay? I'll be right here with you..."

"Please...come back..." Dawn said. "Come back home..." Matt was silent for a few minutes. He looked back at his band that was taking a rest and then said, "All right. I'll be home as soon as I can." He said his goodbye's to her and then hung up the phone. As he was zipping up his guitar in his bag, one of the other members came up to him.

"Hey, Matt...where are you going?" He asked.

"I have to go home. I have a friend that isn't feeling good and she needs me to be there." Matt said, putting the strap over his shoulder.

"Matt! You can't just leave! We have to finish up practice!"

"Yeah, well, some things are more important than just a practice." Matt said and walked out.

~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~
"Dawn?" Matt said as he came in the door. He set down his guitar against the wall and took off his jacket. "T.K.?" T.K walked in from the living room.

"How is she?" Matt asked.

"She's on the couch still...She hasn't moved at all since we put her there." T.K. replied. Matt then walked into the living room and found that Dawn was laying on the couch, her face towards it instead of the other way. He stroked her hair, feeling really bad for her. Dawn turned around to see that Matt was there, giving her a timid smile.

"Matt...." She said. Dawn sat up and gave him a hug from the waist-high. He hugged her back, then kneeled down to her level when they let go.

"I'm here for you....I won't go anywhere." Matt said, Midnight walked up to him and tapped him on the shoulder.

"Can I...talk to you?" She asked. He nodded and both T.K. and him they walked into a room where Dawn couldn't hear them. "This situation is very serious for her."

"How so? Besides the fact that these visions are super-painful for her." Matt asked.

"I'm very worried about Dawn's well-being..." She replied.

"Well, so are the rest of us..." T.K. said.

"I know you all are, but you don't know how serious this situation is, and neither did I until now."

"What did you figure out, Midnight?" Matt asked.

"These visions....they aren't normal. A typical ancient wouldn't suffer this much pain...and even if she is the rightful heir to the throne, there is no way that even a Queen would have this kind of trouble." Midnight said.

"And...?" T.K. asked.

"I did some digging in research about the ancient lines with the help of my aunt...and the information I found isn't that good."

"What is it? What did it say?" Matt asked, unable to hold his patience in.

"They mentioned something about the death and revival of an ancient. It said if the ancient can't return her memories back to normal at a certain time, he, or she, will die, and this time, it'll be for good." Midnight explained. The two brothers were speechless.

"She'll....she'll die?" T.K. asked.

"I'm afraid so." Midnight said. "I never thought about it until I saw Dawn having her painful vision earlier today."

"So, if she can't get her memory back, we have to sit back and watch as she continues to suffer until she dies of it??" Matt asked.

"Unfortunately yes."

"How long do we have?"

"The time varies with each ancient, and the amount of force the vision is on them are different. Dawn may be a strong-willed girl, but the force of the visions might take their toll first before anything." Midnight explained.

"......I feel so helpless." Matt said. "I promised her that I would protect her, and once again, I have failed her."

"Matt, it's not your fault. You can't protect someone from something you have no power to control." Midnight replied.

"Midnight's right, Matt. You can't keep kicking yourself because of something that you can't prevent from happening." T.K. added. The whole room was silent, not one word said to each other.

"There may be one way though to help her." Midnight began in a low tone, breaking the silence. Matt looked up at her.

"There is? What is it??" He asked.

"We must summon the Lady of Ancients. She comes through ancient's dreams, returning them their memories."

"Then what are we waiting for? Let's summon her so she can save Dawn's life!" Matt said.

"If it were that easy, I would have done it already with no problem. She's hard to track. Lady Rosella can be anywhere."

"So then what do you plan to do?" Matt asked.

"Lady Rosella is attracted to auroras that surround a body when they are asleep. I can create one for Dawn before she goes to sleep. I'll make it as big as I can so she can be noticed first tonight. She visits many people...and hopefully, she'll find out Dawn's true intentions."

"All right." Matt said.

"But don't get your hopes too high, you two. I may be able to conjure up that aurora that we need, but it doesn't mean Dawn will get her memory just like that."

"What do you want us to do?" T.K. asked.

"All you can do right now is pray." Midnight replied

~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~
"You just lay down here, Dawn." Midnight instructed as they were both in Matt's room. Dawn did what she was told, a little confused over the situation.

"Okay...Now what?" She asked.

"It's quite simple. All you have to do is fall asleep." Midnight said.

"That's it?"

"That's it. You just leave everything else to me. You're little sister will pull through for you tonight." Midnight said, pulling up her sleeves. "Matt wanted to stay with you to be your support through the dream, but I told him it was too risky for a mortal to pass through ancient's dreams without getting hurt. Plus, no one except the ancient lines are allowed to see Lady Rosella...so you won't have any problems if you see her. If she finds out you wish, then let her grant it and don't ask questions. It is imperative that you just get in this dream and get out of it. You'll see your final parts of your visions when you start, so don't be too frightened if the cycle of those visions look like they're gonna start again."

"Umm...okay." Dawn replied.

"Did you understand anything I said?" Midnight asked.

"Not really." Dawn replied and Midnight fell over. She got back up and rubbed her head. I've gotta keep in mind that this Dawn isn't has the same kind of intelligence as the Dawn I knew, so I can't get mad at her like I did with Dawn...but then again, she usually understood what I said, Midnight thought to herself.

"Okay, just go through the dreams and if you see woman named Rosella, talk to her. Sound simple?"

"Yeah..."

"Good." Midnight said and with that, she began to create the aurora that was needed, while Dawn tried to fall asleep. The aurora was so large, that it filled the whole room. Dawn was finally able to go to sleep and once Midnight was finished, she left the room. She closed the door after her, and then she found Tai, Izzy, Mimi, Sora, Joe, Kari, T.K and Matt there.

"Is she asleep?" Tai asked.

"Yes...." Midnight said, sighing.

"Now what?" Mimi asked.

"We wait." Tai said, crossing his arms.

"You guys can't stay here. This process can take all night, and I'm sure that you're parents would get worried about you if you stayed here all night." Midnight explained. "Matt and T.K. will be here. I will be here for the most part too, but I will have to leave soon."

"But we want to know as soon as possible how Dawn is. The suspense of it is gonna kill all of us." Izzy replied. "We're not going to be able to sleep anyways."

"I know...but it's for the best. The less people that are here, the better." Midnight said. "We'll let you know if there is any changes, okay?"

"Fine..." Tai said. The group finally walked out of the apartment and left the three alone. Midnight turned to T.K. and Matt.

~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~
"Where am I? What's going on now?" Dawn asked as she looked around. The area was black and she couldn't see a thing. When she began to walk, the floor under her broke, and she began to fall endlessly. Eventually, she hit her head against something and from there on out, everything went black for her.

~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~3 hours later*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~
"Matt, you should really get your sleep." Midnight said. "T.K. has already gone to bed and I think I'm going to leave now too."

"You can go ahead and leave, but I'm staying right here. I'll stay awake all night if I have to." Matt said grabbing a picture frame. "Don't worry about me. You just go home."

"All right...try to get some sleep even if you begin to feel a little bit tired." Midnight said. Matt nodded and he looked at the picture. Oh Dawn....I'm right here for you, Dawn, He thought. Don't ever give up...

~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~
Dawn awoke to another dark room. Is there going to be anything but darkness, Dawn asked herself. That's when the screams and the gunfire began to surround her once more. She held her ears, trying to be a little more prepared for them this time, unlike her last dream. It continued to get louder and louder, eventually covering her ears didn't help very much.

"What is this screaming?? Why won't it stop???" Just before Dawn thought she couldn't take it anymore, everything stopped. She opened her eyes up to see that the darkness was being completely eliminated by a blinding light. Dawn put her arm over her eyes to shield her from the bright light. When it dimmed down a little bit, she lowered her hand noticed a figure that stood before her.

"It's the planet, my lady." The figure said. Dawn saw that it was a woman dressed in white. She also had long, blond, wavy hair.

"Who...who are you?" Dawn asked.

"I am Rosella. I have come to see you, my queen."

"Queen? What the heck are you talking about? I think you have the wrong person." Dawn said.

"No, I am not mistaken when I am talking to Dawn, queen of the Ancients."

"Then you believe that I am Dawn too?" Dawn asked.

"I know you are Dawn."

"Then...were you the one who resurrected me?"

"Yes...There is a lot of work to be done, my lady. I know you are seeking your memory, and I can return that back to you."

"....Can you really do that?" Dawn asked.

"I can...however....the powers that you contained were lost when you went to the other dimension for death."

"I had powers?"

"Yes...strong powers that could protect this world and other ones as well."

"Then how do I get them back?"

"You must search for them on your own. Be warned, my queen. Once you have your memories back and no power, you will be just like any other mortal in that dimension. You must be able to be prepared for the unexpected in the future. To be more prepared than the last battle you had encountered before your death. More challenges will await for you, Queen...be on guard." Just then, Rosella used her powers and aimed a beam of light at Dawn. It struck her hard, turning her whole body white. My memories...I can....I can remember them....Tai...Izzy...T.K.....Sora....Mimi....Midnight.....Joe....Kari...... ....Matt.........................I know now who I am.

Dawn woke up in the middle of the night in a cold sweat. She panted hard, still feeling the energy that flowed through her as the memories came back to her.

"Matt." She managed to whisper to herself. She looked around and noticed that he wasn't there. She got up from bed and opened the door. The whole apartment was dark, from no light, but then she noticed a small lamp light that was on next to the couch. She walked over to it and found that Matt was sleeping on it. He was laying on it peacefully. Dawn smiled at him and then noticed that he was holding something in his hand. It was a picture of the both of them when they took that picture at the mall. She kneeled down and softly kissed him on the lips. Matt's eyes began to slowly open up to see Dawn's face in front of his. He kissed her back, catching her off by surprise, but she didn't care. Once they let go, they stared into each other's eyes.

"Dawn......do you...remember me?" Matt asked. Dawn nodded her head.

"Thank you...." She whispered.

"For what?" Matt asked, being on the same tone level as she was.

"For believing in me....for everything that you've done for me." Dawn replied as she kissed him again on the lips. He lifted up the covers that he was on and let Dawn crawl in as that continued to be lip-locked. Matt wrapped his arms around her waist while she wrapped hers around his neck. Could this really be a dream? Matt thought to himself. Or has Dawn really regained her memory..? It mattered to him, but even if this was a dream, he didn't want to be awoken. Dawn was with him, with a clear memory as to what happened, and that's all that was important to him. They let each other go for a second in order to take a breather. Both of them were really tired, and they decided to sleep. Dawn put her head against Matt's chest.

"Dawn?" He whispered to her, but loud enough so she could hear it.

"Hmm?" She responded, in a faint tone.

".....I missed you."

"....I missed you too, Matt."
