"Rika! Time for school!" her mother called. "What? Not yet my alarm clock didn't- ARRRGGGG! MY ALARM CLOCK BROKE!" Rika cried. This was her most favorite present from her great grandmother who had recently past away. Rika got up from her bed. Not only was her most prized possession broken, but she was late for school. The teacher said if she was late for school once more, she would be suspended. "No1" Rika cried. She got dressed only to find a big hole in her best jeans. "Why me?" Rika sighed. She got a pair of dirty jeans because they were the only left. She went to the bathroom and their was no toothpaste. "Great! Now I have to use the veeeeery old one," Rika said. When she said very old, she wasn't exaggerating. This toothpaste that she brought out was seven years old. Rika grumbled and started brushing her teeth. "Blech! This toothpaste that is suppose to taste like cherry is tasting like rotten eggs!" Rika gagged. She brushed her hair only to find her wig falling off! (A/N: Just kidding! Don't flame me!) She climbed down the stairs and slipped on the toy train she got for Christmas. "Ack!" she yelled. Boom! Crash! "Rika! Are you ok?" her mother asked rushing to her side. "Yeah, mom," Rika replied. She wasn't so sure that she was though. Her lips started bleeding and she got two bruises. "Oh lord!" Rika's mom cried. "What happened mom?" Rika asked. The electricity went down half way when I was making your eggs!" Rika's mom answered. "It's ok. I'll just go to school," Rika sighed. 'How can things get worse?' Rika sighed. She had skipped breakfast so she wouldn't be late. She was early in fact. "Well I'll just be going to work now ok?" Rika's mom said. Rika nodded. She was exhausted. She just suddenly fell asleep while waiting for the bus. The bus arrived and didn't see anyone coming out so it beeped it's horn twice. Still, nobody. The bus drove away leaving Rika sleeping. Rika awoke to the sound of the bus leaving. "No! Wait!" she shouted. "Oh well, guess I'll walk. I'll be late though," Rika said to herself. Crack! 'What was that?' Rika thought. Drip! Drip! Drop! "Oh no! It's raining!" Rika screamed. Boom! "Not only that! It's thundering too!' Rika said. She ran and ran. Riiiing! "Great! The bell…" Rika said. She slowly walked in. "Young lady! Do you recall what I told you last time you were late?" Ms. Imijowa asked sternly. "Um…" Rika thought. She had the answer in her head but suddenly forgot. "Iowa?" Rika replied dumbly. "That's it! Go to the principles office!" Ms. Imijowa screamed. She left the classroom hearing snickering from her answer. Rika gave the principle the note from the teacher. "So a trouble maker are we?" the principle asked. "Yes, sir," Rika replied softly. "Rika, I'm afraid you will be suspended tomorrow," the principle said. Rika nodded. 'At least they didn't send me home in this kind of weather,' Rika thought. "Now go back to your class while I call your mother," the principle ordered. Rika left and headed back to the classroom. "Take your seat, Rika," ms. Imijowa said. She sat next to Violet and Mary like she always did. Halfway during class, Rika fell asleep. (A/N: Hey! You can't blame a girl for not getting enough sleep!) Ping! "Hey! Who was that!" Rika yelled as a little hard ball hit her head. She screamed so loud that the whole class, including the teacher, turned to stare. "Um…heh…" Rika said embarrassed. "Rika! Sit in the corner!" Ms. Imijowa ordered. "Tough luck, Rika!" Amber whispered and snickered. After Rika was let back to her seat, Ms. Imijowa had an announcement. "Class! I will be handing back the tests that are worth 50% of your grade!" Ms. Imijowa announced. "Oh god! I got a 99%! How will my parents accept the fact that I got a 99%!" Tom, Rika's crush, sighed. Ms. Imijowa stopped at Rika's desk. "I am very disappointed in you! I expect better, young lady, " Ms. Imijowa. Rika looked at her paper. She saw a big, fat 49% laughing at her. "This can't affect my grade!" Tom sighed again. "If it makes you feel better, I got 50% less than you," Rika said. Tom blinked. "Hey everyone! Rika got a 49%!" Tome screamed. Everybody started snickering. "Rika got an F! Rika got an F!" the kids started chanting. "Rika! Why do you tell people your grade? It's clearly written on the test that you shall not tell other people your grade," Ms. Imijowa sighed. Rika sat their crying, partly from pain, partly from humiliation, and partly from sadness. "That Rika girl is crazy! I wouldn't like her in a million years!" she heard Tom saying that to his friends. 'So the truth comes out…" Rika thought. Finally, the bell rang for lunch. "Yes! Lunch! I'm so hungry!" Rika said to herself. She looked in her backpack for lunch money. "What?" Rika cried. It wasn't there! She looked in her desk. She looked in her locker. It was nowhere to be seen. "Hey Rika! Looking for something?" said Amber. 'No Way!' Rika thought. "You! You….give me my lunch money!" Rika shouted. "What lunch money? I don't have any lunch money," Amber said giving an innocent look. Rika decided to tell the teacher but stopped in her tracks. 'What a I doing? They'll never believe me! She's a teacher's pet,' Rika thought. She ran to the girls bathroom and started crying. "Rika! Rika! Are you in there?" Ms. Imijowa asked softly. "What do you want?" Rika asked. "I heard about what happened. I got your lunch money back," Ms. Imijowa said. Rika sprang up. "You…you…didn't believe Amber?" Rika asked surprised. Ms. Imijowa smiled. "Here you go hun," Ms. Imijowa said handing her back her lunch money. By this time, there was no lunch line. She sat at the table were she always sat. There was Takato, Jeri, Henry, and herself. Rika sat there thinking while the others chatted and ate there lunch. 'Who could have stood up for me? Who?' Rika thought. "Huh? Hey Rika! Aren't you going to eat your lunch?" Takato asked. "Nah! They have disgusting food," Rika said. "You can have my lunch. We can trade," Takato suggested. 'You'd really do that?" Rika asked startled. "Of course! I love school lunches!" Takato said. Deep inside, he didn't. "Thanks," Rika said. After lunch, they resumed back to their classroom. "Class! Settle down! Since winter vacation is starting tomorrow, you all get to leave at half day! Go on! Scurry away!" Ms. Imijowa announced. "Yay!" cried the children. Rika walked slowly. She sat down on a bench in the local park. 'Why do I have a strange feeling that I am being followed?' Rika thought. "Come out wherever you are!" Rika screamed. Silence. "I guess I was wrong," Rika chuckled to herself. Something was terribly wrong. She grabbed the closest thing behind her and flipped it over her. "Takato! I'm so sorry!" Rika apologized. "Ow! It's ow! ok ow!" Takato said in pain. "No you aren't ok! Stay still!" Rika said. She took a piece of cloth and wrapped Taklato's injured arm. "Wow! Rika," Takato said making Rika blush. Before Rika could say anything, his lips went to hers. They finally parted after a few minutes. "Takato," Rika said. "Yeah?" Takato asked. "Were you the only one not laughing at me and getting my lunch money back?" Rika asked simply. Takato nodded. "You're the best…" Rika said. Takato wrapped Rika in his arms and pulled her into a deep embrace.
