Digimon Fan Fiction ❯ Rikato one shot ❯ The beginning- and the end ( Prologue )

A/n: Ok in less than a month I've got 3 stories up none of them are finished yet lol. I promise to update them soon. They are pokemon fics but I'm taking a break from pokemon and I'm going to do a digimon fic. Forgive any spelling or grammatical errors becoz all these Japanese names drive it crazy so I turn it off. RUKATO er… don't own digimon on with the story coz I am ranting again.

Takato and the gang were at Guilmon's house. Well when I say the gang I mean all the tamers excluding Rika. "Hey Kazu challenge you to a game." Takato asked Kazu. Takato had recently been on a winning streak. "No thanks." Kazu said wearily. "Kazu no fair you never turn down a battle and I really need to learn some tactics." Jeri moaned. "No way the dude wiped me out last time we battled still haven't recovered." Kazu frowned and Jeri pouted Takato just sweatdropped. "Hey where's the Rika chick did nobody think to invite her?" Terriermon asked in his nosy sort of voice. "Well I did think about it but she'd probably hit me if I asked." Takato muttered.

"Liar how can she hit you over the phone you go out there and call her now mister or I'll tell your mum you skipped gym again." Jeri yelled at him. "Sheesh momentai [great word that] Jeri calm down." Terriermon said claming his ears over his head to shut out the noise. "Ok I'll go call her." Takato said. "Bring me back some bread Takatomon." Guilmon asked tilting his head to one side. Takato sweatdropped typical Guilmon. "Erm somebody explain to Guilmon why I can't bring him bread." Takato pleaded as he dashed out the gate and down the stairs.

He grabbed the receiver of the payphone. He was kind of exited to talk to Rika alone even if it was over the phone. He had realised after the chaos incident that he didn't have feelings for Jeri, which is what he first thought, he realised he liked Rika. The one problem was that Rika had a rep for breaking boy's hearts. He was afraid to tell her he liked her though the thought terrified him. He dialled the first three numbers then slammed the phone down. "God Matsuki get a grip." He whispered to himself then dialled Rika's full number. He stayed listening to the ringing of the phone for a few seconds when an old lady's voice answered the phone. "Hello Nonoka residence who is speaking." Takato realised this was Rika's Grandma.

"Erm… It's Takato Matsuki I'm calling for Rika is she in." "Yes she's in her room brooding about something or another. I'll go get her." She said over the phone. "Rika telephone for you… it's a boy." Takato heard her yell in the distance. "Yeah hello who is speaking?" `God she sounds tired I hope she's ok.' Takato thought. "Hello who the heck is this I'm really not in the mood for games…" "Oh sorry Rika I zoned out… you ok you sound kind of tired?" "Yeah I'm tired haven't had much sleep what do you want?" Rika's voice crackled slightly on the old telephone line. "Oh I was wondering if you wanted to hang around for a bit at the park… if you're to tired it's ok but er…" "Takato sure I'll come." "Really." Takato said perking up slightly. "Yeah nothin' better to do anyway. You at dino-boy's place?" "Yeah the whole team will be here when you arrive." "Including Kazu and Kenta?" "Yup sorry Rika I know you don't get along well." Rika moaned. They both said their goodbyes and hung up.

He had his head hung low waiting he wasn't tired in general just tired of waiting. He stayed like that for a while until there was a tap on his shoulder. "Hello don't fall asleep on me gogglehead." "Oh sorry… woah what happened to you?" He asked in shock. Rika hung her head in embarrassment. She looked very strange. She was wearing a pair of black trousers and a pale blue blouse. Her eyes were complimented with a touch of lavender eyeshadow. Her hair remained in its tidy ponytail sticking out at the back. "That bad huh god mum was wrong again." Rika muttered. She still sounded tired but she was her usual self. Apart from her looks and her lack of energy and her voice… ok so she wasn't her usual self but just the fact that she was Rika made Takato happy. "No it looks really good Rika honestly." Takato complimented. Rika smiled her pretty darn cool smile she only ever used on Takato.

"Thank you Takato." She said blushing major style. "Come on then Rika." He said heading up the steps. They arrived and everybody had their heads down intently watching Kazu and Jeri battle. "Hey we're back guys." Takato said. Everybody looked up and gasped. Surely their eyes were deceiving them surely this was not the Digimon-queen Rika Nonoka. "God can you quit staring at me." Rika fumed. Ryo stood up. "Wow what on earth did you do to her Takato she's cute now never was before like but… oh well nobody's perfect." Ryo said. Rika was angry. "Nobody but nobody tries to flirt with me got that." She yelled and went off next to Jeri.

She sat down as the two gamers resumed their battle. Jeri was losing badly and Kazu was getting all the answers from Ryo. Rika decided it was time to play dirty. "Jeri if you don't modify now you lose he'll beat you. Since he is way concentrating on attack no defence just use your attack modifier. Don't use a moon generated card since his strength comes from the moon." Rika whispered. Jeri nodded and lay down a modify card. Jeri and Rika laughed as Kazu realised there was no possible move for him to make he had lost to Jeri. "Nice try cheater." Ryo said to the girls. "You cheated too so don't blame me it was just a friendly bit of advice." Rika said with a grin. She laughed again as Ryo was now very confused. `She laughs like an angel I wonder why she refuses any boy.' Takato thought.

"Will somebody battle me?" Takato asked hoping Henry would say yes he enjoyed battling him. "I would gogglehead but I didn't bring my cards." Rika said smirking at the boy towering above her as he was standing up and she was still sitting. "You're joking me right what if a digimon shows up. What will you do you know damn well we can only win a battle if we battle together." Henry exploded at her. "God calm down I have the holder specially hooked to my jeans and they are currently dyed bright pink so I had no place to hold them so I left them." Rika said angrily to Henry. "Momentai the pair of you. You ain't exactly setting a good example for Princess Suzie over here." "Yeah Hendwy stop fighting ow I'll tell mum and daddy you awe always fighting." Suzie said angrily. She still pronounced her letter r as a w.

"She needs to learn that if she is ever going to become a proper tamer then she needs to be prepared all the time." He yelled making Rika angrier. "Me a proper tamer I always have been just go away." She yelled at him. "Yeah well at least I know how to say yes and let love into my heart." He yelled at her. This struck Rika hard it wasn't true she did know how to love. She really fancied Takato but she knew he only liked her as a friend. "Yeah well FYI Henry I do know how to do that somebody special taught me how to love and with a bit of luck he'll know how I feel someday." She hissed at the boy who stood his own ground firmly. The rest of the tamers were watching in awe. "Who then somebody we know." He sneered. "W…we…well I." She was blushing and stuttering like hell.

"Liar you don't fancy anybody." Henry said to her knowing he was upsetting her but still not stopping. "And nobody will ever fancy you, you're just an…" *SLAP* Rika hit him and hit him hard. Nobody had expected that. "Don't you ever say that again. Next time you won't be so lucky as to get away with just that." She spat and ran off. She pushed past Takato and he realised that she had tears streaked down her face. "Wait up Rika." He yelled after her but it was too late. "That was really messed up man." He said to Henry and began to follow Rika's path. He knew where she hid it was a part of the park that Renamon and her always went to.

"Are you ok Rika." "Go away." She murmured and turned her head away so he couldn't see her tears. "It's ok you know Henry shouldn't of said that." He whispered and sat on the bench next to her. "But it's true Takato nobody will ever like me never like me." She sobbed. "Yes they will someday you'll find your Mr. Right but until then you've got friends and family who care for you." "That's what you think my life ain't all it seems…" "Rika were you being honest when you said you had a crush on somebody." "No I don't have a crush on him I'm crazy over him." She replied honestly. "He's a very lucky guy you know Rika." Takato whispered to her gently while brushing a stray strand of hair from her face.

"I swear he's weird. But I love him all the same even though he doesn't like me." "Well he's mad not to like you." "Why is he. He'd be mad if he did like me." "Honestly nobody could be mad to like you they'd be the sanest person on earth." He said gently. "You'll probably hate me for this later Rika but…" He broke off and kissed her on the lips. It shocked her so much she was afraid to move but she caught onto what was happening and returned the kiss. She didn't want this moment to ever end. She knew it would have to sooner or later. It happened later when both 13 year olds were out of breath. She blushed major style. "What was that for Takato." Takato was still dazed. He was surprised that she hadn't slapped him silly. "I guess I wanted to show you… how much you are loved… I love you Rika." Rika just sat back totally taken back by this news. "Go ahead and slap me." "I really oughta you know but I'd rather do this." She said and leaned in. She kissed him very gently on the lips he stopped blushing and returned the kiss.

They broke apart for the second time. Rika smiled. "Wow Rika when did you learn that?" He asked her. "Natural I guess…Takato." "Yup." "I love you too you know." She whispered. "But you tell anybody you're dead you may be Takato Matsuki but I'm still the digimon queen." She said playfully. "I wouldn't wanna wreck your rep." he said. They laughed together for the first time but it would not be their last.

The end of my first one-shot my first digimon fanfic aswell. Bye for now plz R+R.
