Part one: The Past hits
Ruki lay in the grass looking at the dark hostile sky thinking that she and Juri should run away together and have a good life. That idea thrilled her.
"Let's run away together."
"Hmm? You're still awake? You should rest ..."
Juri paused when Ruki rose to her feet with a serious look on her face. She too rose, listening when something came out of the bushes. It was a harmless bald man with fear that never left his eyes.
"Who are you?" Juri asked pointing her sword at the man.
"Ar .... Are you Ruki?"
"Yea. What about it?" The Princess asked coldly.
"I come from Hikari," he said handing her a sword.
Ruki didn't recognizes it until she looked at the blade and sure enough it came from her long lost love that she thought was dead.
"Y ... You saw Hikari?" Ruki whispered with great pain in her eyes.
***** Flash Back ****
The doors opened and a woman walked in with two men by her side. The woman looked down at the young woman on the floor hunching.
"She'll have me ..." Ruki said walking closer to the girl as she stuck her foot out under the girl's chin lifting her head up.
"Yes. You are afraid of nothing ..."
"How dare you talk to my guest that way! You deserve to die!"
"You won't kill me," Hikari said as the man yanked her up, "Ruki won't let you. Because ... in her heart ... is love."
"Ha. Ruki loves no one!" One man said.
The young warrior princess turned and brought her hand around sharply, punching hersubordinate right in the mouth. He fell back with burning anger in his eyes, then rose to his feet as she mockingly motioned for him to come after her. Hikari couldn't believe her eyes as the strange woman indulged in some of the most fantastic fighting she'd ever seen in her life, easily defeating them all. In a matter of heartbeats, all who had dared stand against Ruki were either dead or fled. The fiery redhead looked back at the girl, still laying on the floor, and Hikari took a leap of faith. She trusted her instincts, after all, for they had never led her wrong before. She held out her hand to the princess, hoping that Ruki would take it. The warrior woman stared for a moment, still caught up in the heat of battle, but then she reached forward and clasped her hand around the other's, lifting her to her feet.
***** End of flash back *****
Ruki just stood at the end of the boat with Juri by her side seeing great pain the princess' eyes.
"I'm sure she loved you very much."
"The truth is ... she broke my heart."
"Broke your heart? I don't understand."
"Neither do I, Juri. Neither do I."
