Chapter 6
Girl problems! Love is confusing!
Odaiba Middle School was buzzing with excitement. In two days, a dance party was going to be held there. Anyone could go. Most girls were accepting most offers for dates, except two certain people...
Hikari had lots of boys ask her out, but she rejected them all. Daisuke of course asked her. She was waiting for one person to ask her...
Miyako was down in the dumps. No one had asked her at all. Especially the person who she liked... She wished she was pretty like Hikari, but that'd never happen. Not in her life.
Hikari sighed as she closed her locker and started walking out of the school. "Yo Hikari-chan" Hikari turned around and saw Takeru.
"Konnichiwa, Takeru-kun" Hikari replied, flashing him a smile. A blush started creeping up on Takeru's cheeks.
"Anou.... Hikari-chan.... would you like to..... Would you like to go.... to the danc-" Hikari's eyes sparkled.
"Hai! I will, Takeru-kun!" she said immeadiently. Takeru smiled.
"Great, I'll pick you up at 19:00(7:00)(A/N: Japan goes by Military Time)" Takeru started walking off. "Ja ne, Hikari-chan" When he was out of earshot, Hikari squealed.
"He asked me out!" she exclaimed to no-one in particular.
"Lucky you...." Miyako strode over to Hikari. "I don't have anyone... Who would ask a 'four eyes' anyway?"
"Ganbaruwa(Give it your best), Miyako-chan! Someone will ask you!" Hikari reassured. Miyako didn't reply.
*Next day*(A/N: I got this idea from Kat-chan's two part manga '-san')
"Motomiya-kun.... I need.... some.... advice" Ken managed to say to his best friend. Daisuke looked at him weirdly.
"Why would you need my advice, Ken?" Daisuke asked stupidly. Ken blushed a bit.
"How.... would I ask....Miyako-san out to the dance party?"
"Miyako?! Ha ha ha!" Daisuke started laughing.
"It's not funny!" Ken yelled at his friend.
"Oi oi, don't be so pushy. Well, for starters, call her 'Miyako-chan'. She likes closeness, that's why she calls you 'Ken-kun'" Daisuke advised.
"Ah, Arigouto Motomiya-kun"
"You still call me that! Call me Daisuke!" Daisuke protested, but Ken was already on his way.
Miyako sighed as she walked towards home. It was a long friday. People are usually happy that friday would come, no more school for two days.
But the dance party was tomorrow.
And NOBODY asked her out.
"Miyako!" She heard a familiar voice and turned around. She saw her crush running towards her.
"Ken-kun?" she whispered as he approached, his navy hair blowing around his face. "What are you doing here?"
"Miyako-san, would you.... Would you like..... Wouldyouliketogotothedancepartywithme?!" Miyako blinked.
"Nani?" she asked clueless. He took a deep breath.
"Would you like to go to the dance party with me?" he asked. Miyako's eyes widened.
'He.... Ichijouji Ken, asked ME out?! He asked Inoue Miyako out?!' Miyako repeated in her head. "Ha... Hai hai hai!" Miyako exclaimed. Ken smiled.
"19:00 okay?"
"Hai!"
"Ok, Ja ne, Miyako-chan" Ken walked off into the distance. Miyako stared, then started jumping up and down.
"Ken-kun asked Miyako out! Ken-kun asked Miyako out! Ken-kun asked Miyako out! And he called her Miyako-CHAN!" she soon heard some snickering in the bushes.
"I can't believe he got the guts to ask her out!" she heard the voice said. She soon grew very angry.
"Daisuke!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!" she screamed and started to go torwards the bushes.
"Uh-oh" Daisuke soon high-tailed it.
"Get back here!" she screamed and started chasing him. And it goes on and on and on and on..... :D
A brown haired girl looked up at the city in front of her. "Mimi is back!" she exclaimed before she got a taxi. Unfortunately, there was heavy traffic. "Can't you go any faster?!" she barked at the taxi driver.
"Miss, I'm going as fast as I can!" he protested. Mimi sat back in her seat and pouted impatiently. After a (very long) hour, she finally arrived at the place she was hoping to stop by first. She paid the taxi driver and literally bounded up the stairs to a certain apartment. She knocked on the door, hoping he was there. The door opened and revealed....
"Jyou! Mimi is back!" Mimi exclaimed and literally glomped Jyou. Jyou's face turned red.
"Hi..... Mimi.... He, I'm surprised" he stuttered. Mimi drew back.
"What's up?" she asked.
"Well.... It's a long story" Jyou said as he pushed his glasses up. "Wanna come in?" he asked. Mimi nodded and walked in.
"What do you mean?!" Mimi demanded after she heard Jyou's story. "New Chosen Children!? And I'm the last one to know!"
"They're called Tamers, Mimi" Jyou replied.
"Whatever they're called! I'm gonna hunt down Yagami!" Mimi and Merodi already established a rivalry when Merodi and Yamato hooked up. And since Merodi is the princess, she should let all the Chosen Children know about everything, right? "By the way, do you think I could stay here?"
Jyou blushed deeply. "Ha...hai"
"Yatta! Welp, I'm leaving so I can hunt down Merodi!" Mimi said and stormed out the door. Jyou just stared at Mimi leaving.
"What..... just happened?"
After Miyako was done killing Daisuke, she headed torwards her parents store. She was still giddy about Ken asking her out she didn't watch where she was going and bumped into a taller woman.
"Watch out!" the high-pitched voice accused. Miyako recognized the voice.
"Mimi-san?!"
"Miyako?!"
"Mimi-san is back!" Miyako jumped up and down. "Two good things in one day! Miyako is having a lucky day!" Mimi sweatdropped at the hyper girl's reaction. Miyako soon stopped. "Ne Mimi-san, I actually need advice for something...."
"What is it?" Mimi inquired.
"Well, Ken-kun asked me out to the dance party and...."
"You want me to help you be the best you can, ne?" Mimi finished the question.
"Hai" Miyako replied.
"You've come to the right person! It's time to go shopping!" Mimi said, pointing in the direction of the mall. Miyako sweatdropped. It was gonna be a long afternoon.
Merodi sighed at her little 'sister'. Hikari just got home and seemed more... what's the word... giddy, then usual. "Imouto-chan, did anything happen today to make you feel this giddy?" Merodi asked the youngest Yagami.
"Well...." Hikari blushed slightly. "Takeru-kun DID ask me out to the dance party...." Merodi smirked.
"I wondered when he'd find the courage to ask my Imouto-chan" she murmured to herself.
"Did you say something Onee-chan?" Hikari asked her older 'sister'. Merodi shook her head.
"It's nothing, Imouto-chan. Anyway, we need to find some kind of outfit for you!" Merodi said. Hikari sweatdropped. Merodi was in her shopping mood, and that meant many hours at the mall. "Come on Imouto-chan! We need to impress Takeru-kun, ne ne?" she said as she dragged Hikari out. "Plus, I need to find something for me" Hikari sweatdropped. It was gonna be a long afternoon indeed.
Mimi was having a ball at the mall. They went to many stores, even the American based ones. Maurices, Hot Topic, everything. Miyako finally found something she liked. It was a purple, tight high top the was low cut and low riser jeans.
"The boys will drool over that!" Mimi exclaimed when she saw Miyako in those clothes.
Unfortunately, Merodi and Hikari were in the same store. Hikari also found something she liked also. It was a pink, tight sleeveless high top ending just below the chest but instead of a low cut, it was a turtleneck like her clothes in the digital world. It had in underlined black words "1% Angel". She had short-shorts to set it off.
Merodi clapped her hands together when she saw Hikari in the clothes. "Takeru-kun will definately will think your hot!" Hikari blushed at the comment.
"Takeru-kun wouldn't think that" she replied. Unfortunetly, that's when Mimi saw them. She was about to greet Hikari when she saw Merodi. Fire burned in her eyes and she stomped torwards Merodi.
"Why was I the last one to know Yagami?!" she demanded.
"What do you mean Tachikawa?!" Merodi demanded right back, mad that Mimi just stormed up to her.
"About the new peoples! Hellooo~!" she snapped back.
"You wouldn't give a damn about it Tachikawa" Hikari stared at her sister in shock. Merodi rarely cussed, she must've been pretty pissed off.
"Onee-chan!" Merodi turned towards Hikari.
"Gomen ne, Hikari-chan, but Tachikawa is really pissing me off"
Mimi made a face, then geustered to Miyako to go back into the dressing rooms and change back. Hikari followed suit. Even when paying, the two were glaring at each other. Hikari never got why Mimi and Merodi didn't like each other.
"Why are you so nervous, Hikari?" Tailmon asked her partner as she was taking a furo.
"Well.... I just don't want to mess up tonight Tailmon. I want to be as good as I can when I'm with Takeru-kun"
"Isn't he a friend?" Hikari had to giggle at Tailmon. Tailmon just didn't get it sometimes.
"I.... just get a nice feeling around him.... Like you when you're with Patamon" Hikari could see that Tailmon was blushing even though her fur hid it.
"I don't like that child" Tailmon protested. She always teased Patamon calling him a child since he acted very childish at times. He'd just say 'Patamon isn't a child, pata!' "Ok, maybe I do.... but I'm sure it's because you like Takeru" Hikari chuckled as she got out of the furo and reached for a towel.
"I'm sure it's not that Tailmon" Hikari said as she dried herself off. She reached for her clothes that were hung neatly over the sink. "I'm sure you love him for who he is, like I do with Takeru" she said as she pulled up her shorts.
"But Hikari...."
"Don't worry Tailmon" Hikari reassured reaching for her hair dryer. It only took about 5 minutes for her to get her hair ready, a short amount of time compared to most girls who take an hour to do their hair. "Do I look okay?" Hikari asked and turned around for Tailmon to see. Tailmon nodded.
"As good as ever" Tailmon replied to the soon-to-be-fourteen year old girl. Hikari heard the door bell ring. She quickly checked herself one more time and ran out of the furo to answer the door. She already saw Merodi their enganged in a conversation with Yamato. Merodi was wearing one of her blue revealing, tight, high top and very short-shorts. She saw Takeru behind Yamato, still in the door way.
"Here she comes now!" Merodi exclaimed as Hikari walked walked up to them.
"Konbanwa Yamato-san, Takeru-kun" Hikari greeted with a little bow to Yamato. Takeru took one glance at her and his mouth dropped to the floor, literally.
'Hikari-chan looks hot' he thought as he examined her.
"How do I look Takeru-kun?" Hikari asked.
"You look.... you look ho- ravishing" Takeru said. Of course, ravishing didn't describe it. Merodi whispered something in Yamato's ear and he put on a sly grin.
"You ready?" Yamato asked the two younger Chosen Children. They both nodded and headed towards Yamato's new car.
Miyako paced across the room waiting for Ken to arrive. "Poromon! What if I mess up?!"
"You won't mess up Miyako"
"But what if I make a bad impression"
"You won't make a bad impression Miyako"
"What if I-" the doorbell cut off her sentence. "Ken-kun!" she bounded out of her bedroom and flung the door open.
"Konbanwa, Miyak-" Ken stopped and blushed when he saw Miyako. "You look..... nice" Ken managed to choke out, nice not even describing her.
"You think? I thought it was kinda..." Ken cut her off.
"Shall we go?" he said as he held out his arm. Miyako accepted it and snuggled.
"Of course Ken-kun" she replied as they walked towards the middle school only a few blocks away.
The party was a blast! There were people dancing evreywhere, eigth graders, people up to high school even! Hikari, Takeru, Merodi and Yamato arrived at the same time as Miyako and Ken.
"Hey Hikari-chan!" Miyako greeted her best friend.
"Hey Miyako-chan" Hikari greeted back. "You actually got a date with Ken?" Hikari whispered to her lavendar haired friend. Miyako turned beet red. "That answers my question! Come on Takeru-kun, let's dance!" Hikari said and brounght Takeru out onto the dance floor.

Evreyone danced with the beat of the song and that's where Hikari and Takeru came in. One, two, one, two, one, two, Hikari kept the rythm as she danced. She then realized she was staring in Takeru's eyes and pulled her gaze away quickly.
He was a boy
She was a girl
Can I make it any more obvious?
He was a punk
She did ballet
What more can I say?
He wanted her
She'd never tell
That secretly she wanted him as well
But all of her friends
Stuck up their nose
And they had a problem with his baggy clothes

"Come one Ken-kun!" Miyako encouraged Ken as her favorite american singer came up. "It's Avril Lavigne!" Ken relunctetly went along with her and danced very akwardly. "Is this your first time dancing Ken-kun"
"...Yes" he admitting.
"Don'y worry Ken-kun, it'll be alright!" she encouraged.
Meanwahile, a digimon watched the scene below him with menacing eyes. He wanted to attack, but he couldn't yet. Orders from his master.
'Why don't the masters have me attack right now?!' the egyption god digimon thought bitterly. He stood deadly still in his position. 'That's right, wait until there not as active. When is that gonna come up?!'
The digimon was granted his wish. After Sk8er Boi, a slower song came on.

Takeru held out his arm to Hikari. "Care to dance?" Hikari agreed and she soon found his arms wrapped round her waist and her arms around his neck. She sighed in pure bliss as she put her head on his chest.
"Takeru-kun" she mummubled.

Miyako stared in Ken's deep violet eyes and soon lost herself in those deep pools. Ken made no move to dance with her, since it was his first time. He finally mustered up the courage when he saw Merodi and Yamato dancing together and Hikari and Takeru.
"Would you like to dance"
"Hai, Ken-kun!" Miyako agreed. She was soon in the same position as Hikari, taking in his scent. 'Feels nice' she thought as she closed her eyes.

The digimon chose its time to attack, evreyone was not as active and completely oblivious about the world around them. "Amemit!" The attack crashed into a wall, just enough to get the people panicked.
Merodi slapped her forehead. "Great, a digimon" She closed her eyes and mentally contacted Efuimon to get the Tamers and other digimon. Miyako glared at the digimon before them. The digimon scanned the crowd, and spotted ones that weren't running.
"Bingo" it murmmured to itself. Unfortunetly, he didn't see someone appear behind him until...
"Ashipatoravana!"...it was too late. The attack hit him in the back. He turned around and glared at none other then Antiramon. "Want a piece of me?!" Antiramon challenged, his eyes very narrow and glaring at the digimon. All the other Tamers and Chosen Children soon appeared. Vanessa took out her D-Arc.
"Anubimon: Vaccine. An Ultimate. His attacks are Amemit and Pyramid Power" she turned towards the Tamers. "Ready to Matrix Evolve?" they all nodded and took out their Ultimate D-Arcs.
*One Vision starts playing*
"Matrix Evolution!" Vanessa, Tyler, Takato, Jenrya, and Ruki brought the D-Arcs to their hearts and their clothes melted away.
"Efuimon evolve...." Efuimon's data merged with Vanessa. A human figure appeared that had a mask covering it's eyes, long flowing blond hair, in a miko(priestess) clothes. "Crestmon!"
"Psychemon evolve..." The digimon went to four legs and metal surrounded it. It looked like Metal Garururmon, but the colors were different. "MetalGururumon!"
"Guilmon evolve..." A royal kinght stood where Guilmon and Takato used to be. "Dukemon!"
"Terriermon evolve..." A machine like digimon took Jenrya and Terriermon's place. "Saint Galgomon!"
"Renamon evolve..." Another priestess like digimon appeared. "Sakuyamon!"
The Chosen Children stared in awe at the new Ultimate digimon. The tamers merged and made an ultimate!
Anubimon smirked. "You think that's gonna stop me?! Pyramid Power!" All the digimon nimbly got away.
"He has to work on his aim" Vanessa commented in her rainbow sphere.
"Vanessa-chan!" Efuimon's voice came to her. She then saw another attack coming at her! Crestmon barely made it away.
"Gururu Tomahawk!" MetalGururumon's attack ran into Anubimon's attack and it vanquished at once.
"I got your back V-chan" Tyler reassured Vanessa, inside his turqouise sphere.
"Since when did you add the -chan to my nickname?" Vanessa asked.
"Yeah yeah, we have more problems on our hands you two love birds!" SaintGalgomon in Terriermon's voice snapped.
"Terriermon!" Jen scorned.
"Momantai!"
"This is no time for 'Momantai', demented bunny" Sakuyamon in Ruki's voice snapped at him. "Vajra Mandala!"
"Final Elysion!" Dukemon thrust his sheild out as the beam hit Anubimon square in the chest.
"Enough games, Amemit!" The attack spread and hit all the Ultimate digimon.
"That's too strong for an Ultimate, yet it's weaker then Devilmon's attacks" Crestmon said, cringing in pain.
"Minna! Joggress evolve!" Merodi barked at the younger Chosen Children.
"Hai Merodi-sama!" they replied quickly.
"Buimon evolve! XV-mon!"
"Wormmon evolve! Stingmon!"
"Hawkmon evolve! Aquilamon!"
"Armadimon evolve! Ankylomon!"
"Patamon evolve! Angemon!"
"XV-mon...."
"Stingmon..."
"Jogress evolve! Paildramon!"
"Aquilamon!"
"Tailmon!"
"Jogress evolve! Silphymon!"
"Ankylomon..."
"Angemon..."
"Jogress evolve! Shakkoumon!"
"Paildramon evolve! Imperialdramon!" The two perfection digimon and ultimate glared at Anubimon.
"Positron laser!" The attack hit Anubimon square in the chest.
"Go get 'em Silphymon!" Hikari and Miyako said at the same time, angered that Anubimon ruined their dates.
"Duel Sonic!" The red ball of energy hit Anubimon right after Imperaildramon's attack.
"Ruling Spirit!" And add Shakkoumon's attack to it. Bits of data flew from Abubimon.
"Starlight Crests!" Crestmon brought her hands together and a rainbow light in the shape of a star hit Anubimon and deleated him instantly. Crestmon absorbed his data and evreyone de-evolved.
"How can you merge together to make an Ultimate?! How come Vanessa-chan and Efuimon have a slightly different looking Crestmon?! How come-"
"Do you still think killing digimon is wrong, Merodi?" Ruki cut Merodi off. Merodi shook her head.
"Not in this case. He ruined Imouto-chan and Miyako-san's date!" The Tamers sweatdropped.
"We better go now" Vanessa told the others, not wanting the people to see them. They nodded and left.
"Geuss the party's cut short, Hikari-chan" Takeru turned torwards his older brother. "'Nee-san, I'm walking Hikari-chan home"
"But-"
"Then we get to spend time together, Yama-chan" Merodi said as she planted a kiss on him. The Chosen Children sweadropped left, leaving Merodi and Yamato the privacy they needed.
Hikari was silent as she walked with Takeru in the full-moon night. "Why are you so silent, Hikari-chan?" Takeru asked. Hikari blushed, the moon turning it silver.
"Nothing, Takeru-kun" Silence. "Actually, I need to tell you something"
"Go ahead, Hikari-chan" Hikari took a deep breath.
"I... I... Watashi... Watashi wa... Suki... Suki..." No matter what words she put it in, she couldn't get it out. "Watashi wa anata su... su... I... Never mind" she finally said. Takeru looked at her with a confused look on his face, but knew Hikari would tell what she was going to say when she was ready. He put his arm around her waist and held her close as they walked back to the Yagami's apartment.
"Well... um... I had a very fun time until Anubimon attacked... Arigouto" Hikari stuttered when they got to the door. "I... uh... got to go now" But before she left, she kissed Takeru on the cheek. She walked into her apartment and closed the door.
Takeru was stunned when Hikari kissed him. Okay, it was on the cheek, but a kiss never-the-less. He touched the spot where she kissed him, and smiled.
Ken was silent as he walked Miyako home. 'What should I say?!' he thought despretly. He looked at Miyako, her body outlined by the soft silvery light of the moon.
"I had a lot of fun, Ken-kun" Miyako said as they reached her apartment. Ken blushed slightly.
"Same here, Miyako-san" Ken decided to go back to '-san' instead of using '-chan'.
"You can call me 'Miyako-chan' you know" Miyako giggled. Ken just blushed.
'Why do I get all red around Miyako-san?' he asked himself as they approached Miyako's apartment.
"Like I said Ken-kun, I had a lot of fun" Miyako said as they reached the door. She smiled. "Thanks for taking me"
Ken blushed again. "Yo... You're welcome Miyako-san" Miyako opened the door and went inside. Ken made sure she made it in safely, and then left towards his home.
"Merodi-chan, are you sure it's safe to spy on Takeru and Hikari?" Yamato asked his girlfriend, peeking out the window from her bedroom.
"Yama-chan! Do you want them to become a couple or not?!" she asked and resumed to her spying. She then saw Hikari give Takeru a kiss on the cheek. "Should've been on the lips, but the cheek is fine for now"
Yamato looked at Merodi weirdly. "Does it matter if it's on the cheek or lips?" he asked densely.
"Of course it does Yama-chan!" Merodi said playfully and started to kiss him.
Hikari peeked through the door, then inched away leaving the two to their "business".
Vanessa: Next time on Shattered Dreams!
Hikari: Rei-chan, you're the one who brought the Tamers here?
Rei: It's a long story, it goes back to your past lives.
Amryn: What do you mean 'past lives'?!
Rei: Geuss I have to explain...
Vanessa: Gift of Stars is revealed! Secrets hidden in the past! Join us next time! Be a Tamer!
