Last time in this series: Layla became possessed by a dark force. Fortunatly, Renamon stopped the demon before it caused any major harm. Following a strange signal that Ziramon picked up, the original digimon and the new group found a portal leading to the dark world. Just when they were ready to destroy the portal, MagnaGigadramon attacked. Though the originals put up a great fight, they proved no match for the beast. Meanwhile, Layla and the others took care of all of MagnaGigadramon's troops, and gained their own digivices. Then, when all seemed hopeless, Ziramon, Kyle, Jason, Layla, and Corinne all digivolved to their champion forms and vaporised MagnaGigadramon. When they realized what the dark digimon were planning, the group decided to prepare for the journey to the dark world. While what they packed left something to be desired, they all knew what their mission was. Then, at the last second, Impmon volunteered himself to be a guide and protector. Who knew?

Impmon landed hard on his knees on the burnt, dark wasteland. Ziramon followed behind him, landing on her back. Jason landed on his stomach with a hard "Oof.". Kyle and Corinne landed on their feet, suprisingly. Layla landed last, falling right on her rear. "Ow." she said, holding her ass as she got up. Ziramon shook her head and looked around. "So, this is it?" she asked. "Well, what did you expect, a pleasure cruise?" Impmon said, shrugging his shoulders. Once everyone had been gathered, they walked slowly, huddled close together, each one looking over the other's shoulder. "Man, this place is a wreck." Corinne said softly. "Well, this place is hell. Were you expecting pretty flowers and cute kittys?" Kyle said sarcastically. Corinne quickly grabbed Kyle by the throat and held him in the air for a couple of seconds, speaking to him tellapathically, before setting him on the ground and walking ahead of him. Layla raced alongside Kyle. "What did she say?" Layla asked, looking concerned. Kyle gulped. "You don't wanna know." Kyle said, shaking his head.

The group kept walking, always looking over their shoulders, until they came upon a large cave. Cautiously, Impmon walked inside, the others following behind him. Suddenly, he stopped, causing a domino effect, sending almost everyone falling on their butts. "Hey guys, check this out!" Impmon shouted. Everyone quickly scrambled to their feet and stood around Impmon, expecting a giant monster. Instead, they all gazed at the most unusual thing they had ever seen. "What in the heck is a baby doing here?" Corinne asked, speaking what everyone else was thinking. The entire group stared in shock at the human child Impmon held in his arms. "Cute little guy, isn't he?" Layla and Ziramon made stupid faces at the baby, while Corinne turned green with sickness and left towards the entrance of the cave. When she got there, she found the entrance was sealed up. "Hey people, we have a problem here!" she shouted, getting everyone's attention. "Oh great, we're stuck in a giant roach motel." Jason said, rolling his eyes.

Suddenly, the baby vanished into a thick, purple mist. "Ok, what's going on?" Ziramon asked nervously. Kyle quickly pulled one of his huge guns and fired, causing everyone to scatter, and an energy shield to come up in front of his blast. "Whoa!" Kyle shouted, quickly ducking. "Is everyone alright?" Ziramon shouted. "I'm still here." Corinne shouted, coming out from her hiding spot. "Marco!" Jason shouted. "Polo!" Layla shouted back, the two of them emerging from their hiding places. Corinne and Ziramon both groaned in unison. Kyle walked next to them. "Well, at least everyone is alright." he said calmly. "Kyle, your tail is on fire." Corinne said bluntly. Kyle spun around in place for the next few minutes yelling "Shit!" the whole time. Finally, his tail stopped burning. "Oh, thank god." he said to himself. "Let me give it a shot." Corinne said, moving Kyle aside, and motioning for everyone else to do the same. Once everyone had moved out of the way, Corinne's glowed a bright blue, like two lasers. "Cat's Eye Beam!" she shouted, firing her beams at the shield. Amazingly, the beams cut through the wall like a hot knife through butter. Corinne walked up to the hole she had made, picked up her bag, and walked through it. Impmon followed her, then Ziramon, then Jason, then Layla, then finally Kyle.

As soon as Kyle stepped through, the shield shrunk to the size of a doll house, then exploded. Ziramon decided to lead the group from then on, following Impmon's directions. Unfortunatly, they soon found themselves lost. Ziramon pulled out her digivice. "Ok, where are we?" she asked outloud. "We're here, wherever here is." Corinne said. "Well, that's a big relief." Jason said, rolling his eyes. Suddenly, four blips appeared on the rader screen. "Oh great, what's next?" Layla asked sarcastically. "I don't know, but it's closing in fast." Corinne said, immediatly taking a battle stance. Everyone followed her example, soon making a circle of battle-ready warriors. Corinne kept one eye on her digivice, and one eye on the horizon. Suddenly, a large black dog charged straight at her, it's three heads locked on her. At the same time, the rest of the group saw the other three-headed hell-hounds charging at them. Corinne quickly jumped into the air, soon being followed by Impmon. Corinne gave him a quick glance before slamming her "Lightening Fist!" across all three of the dog's jaws. Impmon fired his fireballs at the dog's chest. The dog just stood still, chuckling at them, before he let loose his main attack. "Tri-Inferno Beam!" the dog shouted, all three of it's heads aimed at eachother. The dog opened all three of it's mouths, and instantly, all of it's fireballs turned into one beam. It fired it's blast at Corinne and Impmon, almost frying them. Meanwhile, the others appeared to be in about the same situation, overpowered and overwhelmed.

As a last ditch effort, the group hid behind some boulders while the beast blasted away at them. "Oh great, now what fearless leader?" Layla asked. "Well, I guess we digivolve." Ziramon said, shrugging her shoulders. Corinne took a quick look at her digivice. "Ceberamon, Ultimate level digimon, main attack is Tri-Inferno Beam." she said, reading the information. "Oh fantastic, now this stupid thing decides to work." she said, rolling her eyes. Kyle picked up his gattling gun and looked at the barrel. "They fried my gun, this is just fuckin' fantastic." he said, groaning. Ziramon and Layla looked at eachother and shook their heads. "Look, we're going to have to think of something." Ziramon said. Jason cracked his knuckles. "I'm ready." he said, spinning his digivice in his hand. "Me too." Corinne said, one hand one her digivice, the other on her sword handle. Without any warning, Ziramon lept over the rock and flipped twice in the air, landing behind the four Ceberamon. While they all focused on Ziramon, Corinne quickly raced behind them, slicing off their tails. "Hey boys!" Layla shouted. The four Ceberamon turned around to face Layla, and suddenly realized their tails were gone. "He,he, suckers." Layla said, sticking her tongue out at them, running as fast as she could. Two of the Ceberamon chased after her, only to have Corinne and Jason slam their feet into them. Layla quickly hit the dirt as the other two Ceberamon fired at her. "Ok people, I think plan B is better then this shit!" she shouted. Ziramon pulled out her digivice and held it up.

The others followed suit, and soon, several beams of light shot from the digivices, trapping the Ceberamon. "Ok, this wasn't what I wanted, but it works." Layla said, shrugging her shoulders. Impmon looked the energy cage over. "This thing won't last long, we should go." he said coldly, walking away from the captured beasts. The group followed him, none of them noticing how the cage quickly crushed the Ceberamon, vaporising their data. They walked for what felt like hours, seeing almost the same thing everytime, black sand, dead trees, skeletons. When all hope seemed lost, Jason stumbled upon a cave which, after everyone inspected it, and Kyle fired every round of ammunition into it, was deamed sutiable for living. "Let's camp here tonight, and we'll get going tomorrow morning." Impmon stated. Once everyone had unpacked, they all quickly settled into their individual sleeping areas, all except Jason, who headed outside to stand guard. Ziramon, after a few minutes, walked outside to join him. "You should get some sleep." he said, trying not to look her in the eyes. "Well, you should too." she said, her eyes showing concern. "I don't sleep too well." Jason said sternly. "Look, idiot, I don't want to see you get attacked, that's all." Ziramon said firmly. Jason looked at her, trying to keep his cold look. "I just don't sleep, understand?" he asked angerly. "Well you don't have to be such an asshole about it!" Ziramon snapped back. Ziramon started to walk inside, but Jason had grabbed her wrist. Not a forceful grab, but a scared grab. "I"m sorry." Jason said timidly. Ziramon placed her hand on his cheek. "I forgive you, I just worry, that's all." she said calmly.

Jason stared at the ground nervously. "I have no right to be near you, no right to love you." he mumbled to himself. Unfortunatly, Ziramon heard most of it. "Did you just say you love me?" she asked, giving him an inquisitive look. "Uh, well, I, uh, you see, I, um..." Jason sputtered. Ziramon held his hand, her eyes locking with his. "Did you say you love me?" she asked again. "Yes." he said bluntly. A smile crossed Ziramon's face, and she brought her lips tenderly up to his, seeing his lips quiver. "Shut up and kiss me." she said, showing her cocky side. Nervously, Jason brought his lips to Ziramon's, their lips locked in a passionate kiss. After a few minutes, they finally broke apart, gasping for air. "Well, you can sleep with me if you want." Ziramon said, giving Jason a smirk. Jason chuckled nervously. "Is there enough room in that thing for both of us?" he asked. Ziramon kissed his again and held his wrist. "We can find out." she said. Taking her hand, Jason slowly walked inside and crawled inside the sleepingbag. Ziramon slid in next to him, realizing that they couldn't do anything if they wanted to. Jason grew a little nervous when he realized just how close Ziramon was to him. "Don't worry," she said reasssuringly, "I won't do anything you don't want." Jason smiled at her, and they kissed passionatly, taking advantage of the long tongues that came with their species. When they finally broke apart, they began gasping for air, almost hyperventaliting. "Wow, that was amazing." Jason said. "Well, when we get back, I'll show you what I can really do to you." Ziramon replied, a big grin on her face. Jason kissed her one more time, then he just held her until she fell fast asleep in his arms. *Man, now I know why I had bad dreams.* Jason thought to himself before he fell asleep next to his mate, their hands still locked together.

The next morning, Jason woke up to find Ziramon still next to him. "Thank God, it wasn't a dream." he said softly, before licking her snout to wake her. Ziramon woke up by grabbing Jason's tongue and putting it under her shirt. "Now that's better." she said, giving him a smirk. Jason's eyes went wide with shock and he quickly pulled his tongue back into his mouth. "Whoa, you're a different person then last night." he said, grinning. Ziramon grinned back at him before they picked up right where they left off, their tongues wrapped together. When they finally broke apart, they both had a content look on their faces. "That was great." Ziramon said softly. "If that's what a kiss is like, then sex is gonna be freaky." Layla said, standing over them. In a span of 3 seconds, Ziramon and Jason quickly lept from the sleepingbag, noticing how Layla was the only one still in the cave. "Where is everyone else?" Ziramon asked. "Outside, waiting on you two to either stop kissing and start screwing, or for you guys to just get up." Layla replied, rolling her eyes. Ziramon and Jason both groaned, then they quickly packed their belongings and walked outside the cave. "It's about time." Impmon stated. "Way to go Zira, you and your bitch made us late." Kyle said, a grin on his face. For the next few hours, Ziramon and Jason became the most nervous people in the group, thanks to Layla and Kyle's teasing. Corinne kept a blank face, saying nothing about the situation and staying focused on her scouting. After a few hours, Ziramon looked at Corinne. "Well." Corinne looked up from her digivice. "Well what?" she asked, expecting a rational question. "What is your opinion of me and son being together?" she asked, trying to keep a conversation. Corinne's mind trailed for a few minutes before she answered. "Congradulations, you now offically have a slave." she said, giving a slight smile. Then, Corinne simply walked ahead of the group, using her eyes to seek out any approaching danger, while Ziramon simple shrugged her shoulders, then stopped for a few minutes to let Jason catch up. "So, what'd she say?" he asked eagerly. "She said I now offically have a slave." Ziramon stated bluntly, giving Jason a smile.

The group continued walking for the next few hours, mostly split apart due to the word being exchanged between Ziramon, Jason, Kyle, and Layla. "Hey guys, come here!" Corinne shouted, causing everyone to ran towards her and Impmon, almost tripping over eachother. When they finally stopped, their jaws dropped at the sight before them. "Holy shit, this is amazing." Jason said, running to the edge of the ancient city, staring at the unusual buildings. He impatiently waited for everyone to catch up, and listened to Impmon curse his foolishness. Kyle took point, his shotgun in front of him. He saw a mouse run by him, and fired the shotgun until it was emptied. "I thought I saw an enemy." he said calmly. "Great genius, now every fucking person knows where we are." Layla said sternly, slapping Kyle on the back of his head. Kyle hedl his head to make sure it was still attached, then walked next to Impmon. "I know what I saw." he said quietly. "Dames are like dat, they don't believe a word you say until it's right in their face, rippin' their head off." Impmon said bluntly. Suddenly, Corinne's ears perked up and she stood still, causing a domino effect with everyone behind her. She turned around. "Oops, sorry." she said, shrugging her shoulders. Suddenly, a giant dog lept up at her from behind a building. Corinne jumped up and smashed her foot into the dog's jaw, hearing the bone shatter. "What the heck was that?" Ziramon asked. "A big dog." Corinne answered calmly, watching her victim fall on his head a few feet from her. Suddenly, 20 more dogs surrounded them, their blood red eyes glowing, while the one Corinne had nailed stood up, blood pouring from it's mouth. "Oh, this is not good." Ziramon said nervously. As the dogs charged forward, they were suddenly stopped by a huge energy blast. "Corona Blaster!" the shots hit the dogs right in the face, sending them backward, but not down. "Hurry, everyone follow me." Beelzemon ordered. No one argued with him and quickly ran behind him, Kyle bringing up the rear and blasting away with everything he had. They suddenly ran out of running room, trapped between the dogs and a building. Corinne quickly thought up a plan in her head, then initated it, bouncing from one building to the next until she reached the top. Ziramon hit her forhead. "Duh." she blurted out. One by one, they all followed Corinne's example until they stood at the top of the building.

Kyle looked down at the dogs. "Ha,ha, assholes can't get us now." he said confidently. Ziramon walked over to Corinne. "Thank you." she said, hoping she would accept it. "You would have thought of it , but we would have been dead by then." she said, a smile on her face. Ziramon chuckled to herself, realizing Corinne was right. Layla and Kyle continued taunting the dogs, flipping them off and such, while Ziramon and Impmon discussed which way to go next. "Hey guys, something's happening." Ziramon, Corinne, and Jason quickly looked down at what was once the dogs. They appeared to have turned into a liquid form, combining into one. When the transformation was completed, the dogs had turned into a giant wolf, more importantly, one with wings. Impmon quickly digivolved and ordered them to get back as the ginat beast ripped the ledge off the building. "Shit, now I'm going to die a virgin." Jason whined. "Quick everyone, cover your eyes." Ziramon said. "I don't think now's a good time." Corinne stated, watching the beast fight Beelzemon. As Beelzemon struck one more punch, the beast tried to grab on to the building, and grabbed Jason's leg. Ziramon instantly grabbed his hand and tried to pull him up. "Your not dieing on me, not now!" she shouted to him. "I didn't know I was going yet!" he shouted back up, feeling Ziramon lose her grip. "Let go." he whispered. "Never." she whispered back, feeling helpless. Finally, Jason bit her hand, realizing that if she didn't let go, they would all die from the impact. "Jason!" she screamed, reaching for him as Kyle held her back. "I love you!" Jason screamed before he spun his body in mid-air and fired a Pyrosphere at the beast's face, forcing the beast to fall faster then him.

Ziramon turned her head away, fearing the worst. "Hey you guys, are you just going to leave me here?" Jason shouted up at them. Ziramon looked down and saw Jason on the level second to the ground. "Oh, thank God your alive!" she shouted down. "Hey, if you want, I can go get him." Beelzemon said. Ziramon nodded, and Beelzemon quickly reached down and picked Jason up in his hand, putting him down on the ledge. Then, Beelzemon aimed his gun and fired one clean shot at the beast, it's body exploding on impact. "Jason." Ziramon ran up to Jason as soon as Beelzemon let him go, and Jason found himself on his back. "Ow, for once, this isn't a good thing." he said, chuckling. "I thought you were dead." she said, crying in his arms. Jason stood up, holding Ziramon in his arms. "Well, you thought wrong my dear." he said softly to her. "Um, hmm." Corinne grunted, clearing her throat. "You crazy son of a bitch!" Kyle shouted, laughing like he'd just heard the funniest joke in the world. Ziramon grabbed Jason's head. "Dear, you know I love you, but if you ever do something like this again, I'll kill you!" she shouted angerly. Jason just chuckled and held Ziramon in his arms, their lips locked together for quite a while. Thankfully, when Beelzemon put them down on the ground, they still had their clothes on. "So, which way do we go now?" Ziramon asked Corinne as they walked out of the village. Corinne looked at her digivice, then at the horizon. "That way, you see that dot?" she pointed at a tiny black speck on the horizon. "Yeah, so?" she said, shrugging her shoulders. "That's our destination." Corinne said happily. Ziramon grinned. "That'll take us 4 days to get to, I love a challange." she said to herself. Once again, the group began their long walk towards their destiny. Unfortunatly, Impmon wasn't with them. Layla looked down at him, then up at the group. "You're not coming with us?" she asked, sounding as worried as everyone else was. "No, I can't." he said coldly. "But why not?" Layla protested. Impmon sighed. "The closer we get, the more old habits stir in me. I'd just get ya hurt. Besides, you need to do this on your own." Impmon said firmly, then he walked away, never looking back. *I can't keep protectin' them, they gotta figure this one out on their own.* Impmon thought to himself. Ziramon took one last look at their friend and sighed. "Ok, let's go." she said, knowing why Impmon was doing this. *This is our destiny, and we'll meet it, and beat it.* Ziramon thought to herself.

Whoa, sad ending?

How will Impmon's leaving affect the group?
