Chapter 14: A Tainted Shadow part 2

 

Tk lands on the ground as gently as he could since Kari was in his arms, but it was difficult with just one wing. The Shadow Creature smirks to himself.

 

“You're a sitting duck! Shadow Force!”

“Full Moon Dance!”

 

The Shadow Creature's attack was stopped by none other then himself. The Shadow Creature turns his head slightly to see Wolfmon, Dark, Rose, and Matt; he also noticed a shadow on the ground that connected him to Wolfmon.

 

“Are you alright, Tk?”

 

Kari gazed at Tk's face he was flinching a bit from the pain but he was able to smile softly to her.

 

“I'm fine, Kari! What about you?”

“Not a scratch! Thanks to you.”

“Tk!”

“Kari!”

 

Said people turned their heads to see Lucy, Davis and Tai running towards them.

 

“Are you to ok?”

“Don't worry we're fine!”

“Fine my foot! Tk your wing is wounded!” Tai shouted

“Don't worry about it” Lucy said calming down, “His wing should heal in awhile since it's made from digital data”

“Kari, don't scare me like that!” Davis exclaimed

“…Sorry”

“Um…you guys!”

 

The five kids stared at Dark.

 

“I'd hate to interrupt but there's still a Shadow Creature here!”

“Oh!”

 

The Shadow Creature growled at Wolfmon.

 

“You blasted wolf! Let go of my shadow!”

“Not a chance!”

 

Wolfmon shouted back. He then turned his head to Lionmon.

 

“Lionmon attack him now!”

“Got it! Lion Heart!”

 

As the light engulfed the Shadow Creature, Wolfmon lets his shadow go and the shadow that connects them disappears. When the light disappears, to everyone's amazement the Shadow Creature was still there! (AN: talk about stubborn!)

 

“What! He's still here!” growled Lionmon

“Lucy, what's going on?”

“I'm… not sure” she replied

 

The Shadow Creature smirks.

 

“I'd love to stick around, but I have things to do!”

 

With that he began to flicker in and out of their sights until he was gone.

 

“What just happened?!” Davis and Tai asked/exclaimed

“I think I know.”

 

Everyone looks to Dark.

 

“Maybe…just maybe, he wasn't originally a Shadow Creature.”

“WHAT!”

“Hey Amber! Look I found it!”

“You did? That's great, Louis!”

“Guess I should use telepathy to tell Dracomon”

“K, I'll do the same with Lillymon”

 

“Dracomon! Can you here me? Amber and I found it! We found the ~~~~~~~”

“Lillymon! Are you there? We found the ~~~~~~~”

Dark nodded his head.

 

“Well that's what I remember.”

 

“Dracomon! Can you here me? Amber and I found it! We found the ~~~~~~~”

 

BlackAgumon's head shot up in alarm as he heard the message.

 

“So, they found it…”

“Who found what?” Yolei asked

“They found the ~~~~~~~”

“What! Really!” Lucy asked excitedly

“Yes. Louis told me with telepathy”

“Telepathy? That's so cool” Davis said

“What's a ~~~~~~~”

“It's…

“Lillymon! Are you there? We found the ~~~~~~~”

 

Lillymon stops flying and looks to the sky.

 

“So they found it, huh”

 

Lillymon lets out a loud sigh.

 

“Better tell, Aquamon!”

Davis rests his head against a pillow as he stares at the ceiling. Veemon was already fast asleep on the pillow beside Davis'. It was now sundown and everyone was back in the palace…or what was left of it. (AN: remember Angelmon, Dracomon, and Hornmon caused some damage when a Shadow Creature possessed them) Davis closed his eyes and processed what Dark had told them earlier on in the day.

 

Flask Back

 

“You know why the Shadow Creature didn't disappear!”

“Well…I'm not really sure.”

“Then tell us what you know”

“Well… let me think.”

 

Dark eyes everyone over to the guardians; they all were in their rookie forms. Dracomon transformed into an Agumon that had black and orange streaks, a BlackAgumon; Wolfmon transformed into a Gabumon with black fur color, a DarkGabumon; Garudamon transformed into a Biyomon with purple streaks, a LightBiyomon; and Hornmon transformed into a Tentomon with a dark orange shell, a WarmTentomon.

 

“Well… I think I remember Melanie telling me something like this.”

“Who's Melanie?” Cody asked

“She's the princess to the Kingdom of Reliability.” Lucy replied

“What did she say?” Ken asked

“Well she said that when a Shadow Creature doesn't disappear when it's exposed to light then it was originally a digimon or a human.”

“Originally a digimon or a human?”

“Oh I get it!” Izzy said as he snapped his fingers

“Get what?”

“They have to be originally a digimon or human because light has no effect on us!”

“Right! But that's not the only thing she told me.”

“What else did she tell you?” Rose leaned on Dark's shoulder

“That when a person or a digimon transformed into a Shadow Creature then that make's them a Tainted Shadow.”

“Tainted Shadow?”

“Yeah, it's because their's still a small trace of light in their hearts. The light that's in everyone's heart.”

“You mean our innocents, the one spot in our heart that's unspoiled, that keeps us dreaming, the part that still has… hope”

“Yeah”

 

End Flash Back

 

“I wonder who transformed into a Shadow Creature and why.” Davis thought aloud.

 

He lets out a sigh and stood up.

 

“Where you going, Davis?”

“I'm going to see Kari, wanna come?”

“Sure I get to see Gatomon!”

 

As they passed the rooms where the other's where sleeping in, they were careful not to make to much noise. As they walked through the hallway Veemon caught a glimpse of someone outside the window.

 

“Hey Davis! Look!”

 

Davis walks towards the window for a better view.

 

“Hey, it's Tk, Lionmon, Lucy, and Angelmon! But what are they doing outside?”

“Not sure”

“Come on, Veemon! I wanna know what they're talking about.”

“Huh, are you sure Davis? What if they find us?”

“Don't worry! Now come on!”

 

Davis and Veemon climbed out the window and stepped onto the roof of the palace. They walked as quietly as they could to avoid any attention. As they were walking Davis stepped on a tail causing the owner to let out a shriek, a loud shriek. The four talking turned their heads in their direction.

 

“You hear that?” Lionmon asked

“Yeah but no one's there” Tk answered

“Must've been your imagination, boys”

 

Veemon looks to the owner of the tail.

 

“Gatomon?”

“Veemon?”

“Kari?”

“Davis?”

 

The four stared at each other.

 

“What are you doing here?” the Davis and Kari whispered

“Shh!” Gatomon inputted, “Their speaking”

 

“But, Tk!” Lucy whined

“But nothing! You're not coming with me!”

“Lionmon?” Angelmon looked to the lion, already knowing what he was going to say

“No”

“There's no way you're coming with us to the Kingdom of Hope!”

“Tk's right! That place is crawling with Shadow Creatures!”

“Wonder why Tk and Lionmon are going there?” Davis whispered

“I could tell you, Davis, but I can't” Tk answered calmly

 

Davis, Kari, Veemon, and Gatomon got tense.

 

“Come on! Stop hiding you guys”

 

The four eyedroppers got out from behind the statue.

 

“You knew this whole time?” Davis questioned

“Since Kari and Gatomon got here” Tk pointed out

“So why are you going to the Kingdom of Hope?” Kari asked
