The Love that Binds Chapter 8

"MIMI!" Tina cried she ran out to her daughter, her husband followed her. "David called 911 now!" she cried, her husband. Tina could hear the screeching tires of the car that had hit her daughter.

Meanwhile…

Matt turned left at the stoplights; in a hurry he still sped not listening to a word the police officer had told him. Tai was behind tagging slowly. "Holy crap…I'm never getting in a car with him again." He replied he speed up a bit, turning left at the same stoplights that Matt had took a left at.

With in minutes ambulance came roar down the same road that Tai and Matt were driving on. Tai pulled over let ambulance pass him.

As it drove near Matt he pulled over and let the ambulance pass. 'Oh no what if something happened to her on her way there or she did something.' Matt started to get scared as he heart raced noticing the ambulance turning right on to street where Mimi's parents lived. Startled and scared he push on the gas more and turned right onto that same street.

Tai was catching up to Matt until he saw his car turn right onto the next street that was coming up.

Once Matt pulled onto that street he gasped he saw the ambulance stopped in front of his in-laws house, he pulled over on the side of the street and put his car into park he turned off the engine and ran toward the house.

Tai saw Matt hurry toward the ambulance on foot. He parked his car and locked it and started toward the scene.

"NOOO!!!!" he heard matt's voice cry out of in anguish. He ran toward them.

"Her vitals are weak…we got to get her to the hospital ASAP." The paramedic said, they wheeled her into the ambulance. "I have to come." Matt told them he was upset he wasn't crying though. "Are you her husband?" the medic asked him. Matt nodded. "Okay sir don't make any commotion please." He asked. "Okay." He replied.

"Matt honey are you okay?" Tina asked him. "Yeah I'll be fine meet me and the hospital." He replied. Soon after the ambulance left Tai arrived on scene.

"Tina…what happened?" he asked. "Mimi got hit by a car…I didn't see it coming Tai but it just went as fast as it could go then hit her." she replied she started to crying as her husband held her. "Okay, are you going to hospital Tai?" Tai froze as David asked him that.

"Ah…yeah." He replied softly. "You need a ride?" he asked him Tai shook his head. "I got my car down there I'll call Sora and everyone and let them know." He replied.

Brittany smiled as she drove 'I finished her for good this time'…. but her smile faded. "If they figure out it was me…I have to do something." She said out loud She looked around looking for something. 'I guess I got no choice but to crash my car.' She thought.

She made her car swerve back and fourth, then she 'crashed' into trees. It had enough of a impact that render her unconscious.

Ring, ring

"Oh I'll get that." She replied she ran toward the phone and picked it up. "Hello…. Daddy where are you?" she asked. "Honey, is your mother there?" he asked. "No she at grandma's house still." She told him. "Oh then who's there with you then?" Tai asked. "Davis is why?" she questioned him.

"What did I tell you about being alone at home?" Tai asked a little angry. "I locked the doors dad…I'm not stupid." She said to him. "I never said you were." He sighed. "Okay well don't you two cause any trouble and be careful." He replied. "Okay bye dad." She closed the phone. "What ever happened to letting me say bye." He thought he shook his head and dialled his mother's house.

"Hello." Anna said. "Oh…Mom…something happened…Tell Sora and Kari that Mimi is in the hospital she got into an accident." He told her.

After Anna had gotten off the phone with Tai she went into the living room where Sora was rocking Li gently as he was starting to drift off Kari was drifting off in her seat…and Kevin was already falling asleep on the couch.

"Sora, Kari." She said, Sora and Kari both looked up at her. "What's wrong mom?" Kari asked. "Tai phone and he said that Mimi's got into an accident he didn't say what happened just that they were at the hospital." Anna replied. Sora looked shocked. "Oh god." She whispered she covered her mouth in shock, and then glanced over at Kari. "Here I'll take care of Li for you Sora." Anna replied. "Thank Mom." She replied. "I'll drive Sora." Kari told her.

The two were putting on their shoes and coats on and left the house.

A car came into the driveway and stopped. "Kari? Sora." TK questioned. "TK we got to get to the hospital now…Mimi's was in an accident." Kari told him. "Okay come on in." he said, The two women got into the car.

Hospital…

Matt paced in the waiting room nervously. When he saw Tai coming toward him. "Matt man I'm sorry." He said. "Why do you have to be sorry for this is it all my fault I'm the one to blame cause she in there…. and she could be dying." He replied angry with himself. "Matt it's okay to cry." He said he watched his friend sadly. "I just need some time alone to think." Matt told him. He walked past him only to have Mimi's doctor call him back. "Mr. Ishida?" he asked Matt nodded. "Your wife is fine…she's stable and she might have a slight concussion and a few broken ribs…but I'm sorry for your baby it didn't make it." He said

Matt looked at him oddly. "What?" he questioned. "Your baby died I'm sorry Mr. Ishida…I'll keep an eye out on your wife's condition." the doctor walked by a confused Matt. Who then turned to Tai… "You asked me that stupid question! Rhetorical my ass!" Matt yelled tears brimmed in his eyes. "If Mimi was pregnant. You knew didn't you!" he cried, Matt started to sob. "Matt I'm sorry I couldn't tell you…Mimi promised Sora not to say anything to you or me…but she accidentally told me today…" he trailed off and watched him, Matt put his hands over his eyes and wipe the tears way, he looked up at Tai.

"Save it Tai!" Matt walked pasted him in angry and sorrow…toward the Terrance closing the door shut behind him.

Once there he slumped to the ground. "Why didn't she tell me." He cried, tears ran down his cheeks falling on the cold ground. He sniffed; he ran his hand through his hair.

Tai sighed he sat down. As he did Sora, Kari and TK came through the elevators. "Taichi." Sora replied, Tai looked over and saw Sora coming toward him; he gratefully pulled his wife into a hug. TK and Kari held hands and watched them. "Tai what happened?" TK asked, Tai looked up at him Sora let him go. The held hands too.

"Apparently a car hit Mimi intently…that's what Mimi's mother said she saw it happen. There is good news and bad news which one do you want to hear first?" he asked.

"The bad news Tai." Kari asked him he looked to his wife and to TK who both agreed. "Bad news is Mimi was pregnant…and she lost the baby." He said, Sora looked shocked and about to cry as Kari and TK were just shocked. "What? You mean I had a little nephew or niece?" TK asked, up set he looked up in the air trying not to let it on he was about to shed some tears. Tai nodded, Sora blinked the tears out of her eyes. "What's the good news." She asked.

"Mimi is okay she just has slight concussion and a few broken ribs but that's all." He replied. "Where's my brother?" TK questioned, "He up set…cause he didn't even know about the baby…." Tai trailed off he pointed to the Terrance. "You should go talk to him TK." Tai replied. TK nodded. "Yeah…I think he might be feeling totally lost…. right now." He said he looked to Kari. "I'll be back." he replied and gently squeezed her hand before leaving.

'How come I never put two and two together…she was upset when ever I mentioned not having a baby.' He thought.

Flash back….

"So…when are you two going to start having a family?" Kari asked Matt and Mimi suddenly both surprised looked at her.

Laughing nervously Matt began. "I…don't think so…not yet…I'm not into the happy family stuff yet." He replied. Mimi looked at him startled at bit, and then her face showed obvious disappointment.

Kari looked from Matt to Mimi and immediately regretted, questioning them. "I'm sorry you guys I didn't realize it was something…you didn't talked about." She replied. Mimi shook her head.

"Nope don't worry. Kari…we haven't thought about it yet." She said sincerely. Matt looked up to the two. "But any ways how are you two doing?" Matt asked, he casually went to put his arm around Mimi, and then she pushed him away suddenly and walked away in a huff.

"Mimi!" he called.

End of Flashback….

'I should have thought…I should have sensed something was wrong!' he yelled at himself, he got up off the ground and rested his arms on the railing he looked out over Obadia. The lights made it look nice at night…all the colours.

He felt a hand on his shoulder and turned to see his brother. "Hey are you all right?" TK asked him, he turned back to the scenery. "No…it's my fault." He replied. TK rolled his eyes slightly, "How is it your fault?" he asked.

"It is my fault I should have been there for her I should have been more of a husband but instead I wasn't I was a big pig headed moron." Matt said, TK wasn't going to deny it. "That part about not being a husband to her would be true but the part where she lost her baby and that she nearly died in a hit and run doesn't make it your fault…it could have happened to me…or to Kari or even you." He said.

"Still…. what bothers me the most is that no one told me….Tai knew and Sora knew that she was pregnant. They could have at least told me. I deserved to know." Matt told him. "It doesn't matter if they knew." he replied. Matt looked at him angry "Of course it matters! TK…I'm not going to forgive them for this!" Matt shouted at his brother.

"Matt….you can't forsaken them." TK told him. "Try me." He replied. He opened the door and walked through. Matt walked right by the waiting room and gave Sora and Tai a dirty glare before entering Mimi's room.

TK sighed he walked to were Sora, Tai and Kari were. "What's wrong with him?" Kari asked. "He's pissed off at the both of you." TK pointed at Tai and Sora. "Oh about the baby thing right cause I didn't tell him?" Sora asked. TK nodded. "Okay TK we will see you tomorrow morning cause we've got an doctor's appointment in the maternity ward at nine o'clock." Tai said, Sora nodded and she hugged Kari. "If Mimi wakes up tell her that I'm so sorry…and that me and Tai hope she's okay." Sora told her. "Okay no problem what are sisters for." Kari said.

"Bye, see you tomorrow." Tai and Sora both waved and left toward the elevators.

8:00am…

Mimi's hospital room…

Matt gently rubbed Mimi's hand. "Hey honey are you going to wake up for me any time soon?" he asked her…but didn't get a response from her.

Mimi had a bandage wrapped around her head and had some bruise's on her face and arms. He had been crying earlier this morning cause she looked worse then she actually did.

Mimi moaned…she opened her eyes and saw Matt was at her side. "Mimi your up." He said he held her hand she squeezed it. "What happened?" she asked. "Someone hit you with a car." He replied, she blinked then looked up at him. "I remember." She replied.

Matt bit his lip. "Mimi how come you never told me." He asked. "Never told you what?" she asked. "That you were pregnant." He said. Mimi moved her head to the other side of her pillow. "I lost it didn't I?" she asked "yeah." He responded off handed.

"You told Sora and Tai…. but not me why?" he asked softly. "I didn't tell Tai…. Sora must have slipped it to him." She replied softly she blinked once more and then looked into his blue eyes. "I didn't tell you cause I was afraid you'll leave me or…you'd get angry at me…. I was going to get an abortion but I guess I have to cancel that appointment." She replied.

"Mimi…I'm sorry…I gave you the wrong impression…I love you and I would love to have a family…and I realized that no one is hardly ready when they turn into a father…I mean Tai wasn't and look at him now….I sorry…I'm so sorry for being an Jerk for treating you so bad….I love you so much I was just scared about having a baby that's all." He told her.

"You really think so?" she asked, he shook his head in an honest manner. "Yes…I really think so…and if you want we could start a family after you get out of the hospital and get all better." He replied Mimi started to cry. "Matt I so glad that you think that." She replied she blinked back the tears in her eyes. "It means so much to me…that you want this." She said again her voice sounded like it was going to explode into sobs. Matt leaned over and kissed her lips gently he sat down and gently moved some of the strands of hair that were in the way on her face.

"Matt what happened to your face?" she asked. "What?" he questioned confused. "Your cheek, it's bruised." she said. "Oh it's okay I got slapped and punched it's okay really." He said to her.

TK carefully opened the door

Matt looked to see who it was; he motioned his brother to come in. Kari followed TK in. "Hey Mimi your up." Kari replied. "I'm sorry about the baby." She said. "It's okay." Mimi replied, some tears fell down her bruised face. "I'm sorry about this Matt I should have told you." She replied. "Don't worry about it." Matt told her gently.

"Matt why are you angry at me look what did I lied to you, about the baby." She said. "No…I understand why you didn't tell me…the only people I'm angry at are Tai and Sora." He replied.

"Matt…you have no reason to be angry at them." TK replied annoyed. "I have reasons…Sora for not telling me when she knew I was supposed to know and Tai for not tell me too." he told him harshly.

"Matt don't be mad at them." Mimi begged him. "No it's they're fault all their fault." He said to her.

Maternity ward…

"Okay so things do look good." Dr. Ollson said to her. "Oh that good." Sora replied. "After your menstruation cycle is over then it would be okay for you to continue on normally…and remember that to start taking birth control pills after you whine Li from breast milk." She said. "Yes I remember that bit." Sora replied.

"Are you and Tai doing fine about your lose?" Sarah asked. Sora nodded "Yes…it's okay…it's hurts some times…" she replied. "Hey I'm here as a friend if you need a talk." She said. Sora smiled at her. "Thank you." Sora said standing up and she walked out of the office.

Tai was holding Sora's purse and coat while he was sitting in the waiting room. "You all right?" Tai asked she nodded. "Yeah I am don't worry." She replied she kissed him on his cheek lightly, before getting her coat and purse from him.

Out in the hall they began toward there elevators. "I think Matt's still angry at us." Tai said to her. "So what he can't disallow us to see Mimi she's our friend too." Sora told him. "I know, but you know how he gets when he is like that." Tai replied.

Sora rolled her eyes "Tai…. if you don't want to face the 'might wrath' of Yamato. Then go home." She said. Tai gasped. "Hey, hey, hey…. that was rude…. beside we drove in the same car here remember." He replied.

"Right then why are you acting like this Tai." Sora replied. "Acting like what Sora? I didn't do anything." He replied. They walked into the elevator and Sora pressed the 6. The doors closed.

"Like your scared Tai." She looked at him. "I'm not scared of Matt." He said, "Where is this coming from any way?" he asked.

"I'm sorry honey." She replied…Tai worried watch her. "What's wrong?" he asked softly. "It's just this hospital reminds of so much things that has happened here. Death and birth…" she trailed off sadly. "if you want you can beat me all you want." Tai suggested…Sora looked up at him. "Don't be silly Tai." She said. "I'm serious you can do what ever you want…" he stopped and shutting himself up quickly before she got any ideas.

"Any thing that will make me feel better?" she asked. Tai gulped a bit. "Yeah…. of course I mean…. you love me right and you won't make me do anything I won't want to do…" he sort of stopped mid-sentence. Sora smiled as he uncomfortably and nervously stood in the elevator. "Well a few things will make me feel better….a nice dinner with my family then….some alone time for me and you." She said smirking.

Tai laughed, "Oh and have you talked to Davis's parents?" he asked changing the topics quickly. "Um no I haven't Tai only his mother…I think her name was Yolie…once at the soccer game." She said then looked at him curiously. "And I don't think I saw his father." She replied.

It was now Sora's turn to laugh. "Tai what's wrong with you?" she asked. Tai whispered something in her ear. "Oh that's what it's about you thought that I was going to make you ware that thong again didn't you." She said. "Sora not funny…I don't want to do that again." He said.

The elevator opened up and the two stepped out of it. "No more talking about this." Tai replied. "Okay suits yourself…any ways I want you all to myself to night." She said. Tai sighed and peered though Mimi's hospital window.

"Shall we?" Tai asked. Sora nodded "Yeah." She replied.

The door slowly opened Kari and Mimi both turned and saw the two coming in. "I'm sorry Mimi I didn't keep the secret and I accidentally slipped it to him." Sora pointed to Tai. "Sora…don't apologize…I'm sorry for doing that to you." She said.

Tai put his hand on Sora's shoulder. "So are you okay?" Tai asked. "Yeah…I feel okay for now…" Mimi said trailing off. "But I can't understand why I can't cry…I can't feel anything for the child I was carrying." Mimi replied. "You probably didn't have the time to feel as a normal mother would feel when they were pregnant." Sora replied softly. She grabbed on to Tai's hand that was on her shoulder and squeezed it gently.

"She doesn't mean that you are a bad person." Kari replied as she smiled at Mimi. "I know what you mean don't worry." Mimi said to them with a smile. "Any way's we got to go…We've have got to see if Davis and Saria are okay…and we've also got to check to see if my mom's okay with Li." Tai said.

"Okay you two go…I don't want to keep you." Mimi said. "Mimi your not keeping us from doing anything don't worry about." Sora told her, they smiled and said their goodbyes.

"Okay so what do you want to eat?" Saria asked Davis. "Um what do you have?" he questioned. "Um…. okay…. lets see here…cereal…there is rice crispies, Lucky charms, pebbles, and cherrios , honey nut cherrios." Saria replied she looked at Davis waiting for his decision.

"Okay I'll go for the honey nut cherrios." He said. "Okay I'll get them and a bowl and some milk. "Do you like your milk warm or cold?" she asked. "Um…cold." He said. "Okay." She got out the milk out and poured herself some milk and gave Davis the carton. Which he took, he handed him the cereal and he put some in the bowl. Saria did also, she then got her milk that was in the microwave and poured it into her cereal.

They sat there for a while. "Dose your mom and dad fight?" Davis asked suddenly Saria looked up at him with her dark brown eyes. "Um sometimes but they always make up." Saria said to him. "Oh." He replied. "Why?" she asked. "My parents…fight a lot…. and sometimes I hear them talking about divorcing…and it scares me." Davis told her.

"Oh well I sure they'll be fine." She said to him. "Yeah I hope so." He said.

Brittany woke up from her unconscious state she was still in her car she struggled with her door and got out of the car and looked for her cell phone. "I've got to put my next plan into work." She said dialling a number.

"Hello Kamiya's." a maid picked it up. "Clare is that you?" Madison asked. "Oh Madison what wrong? Are you okay?' Clare asked her. "No I got into an accident and I don't know where I am." She replied.

"Okay…hold on there we will send a the police to look for you." Clare said she closed her phone.

Matt and TK came back to Mimi's room. "Hey Matt have you cooled down?" Mimi asked. He nodded. "Yeah…I guess…but it still doesn't change the fact that Tai and Sora lied to me." He responded, TK sighed. "I tried to make him understand that Sora and Tai didn't have a choice to tell him." He replied.

"It's okay TK don't worry." Kari replied to him.

6:00pm…

There was a knock at their door Sora went to get it, she opened the door and saw a woman standing there she had long purple coloured hair. "Hi I'm Davis's mother. May name is Yolie." She introduced herself to Sora. "Oh Hi…Yolie, I'm Sora Saria's mother." She said. "Oh wow you look really young to be a mother of a ten year old." She said to Sora "Well so do you." Sora replied. Yolie laughed a bit.

"I guess I shouldn't be talking then." Yolie replied. Sora gasped, "Oh sorry please com in." she said motioning her into her house. Sora closed the door behind her.

Yolie looked around the house. "I feel so bad for not meeting you…I mean you daughter's my son's best friend I didn't have the decency to call you or talk to you." Yolie replied. "Oh that's okay don't worry about it…we've been having some problems lately." As soon as Sora mentioned that Tai came out from the bedroom. He came over to them. "OH Tai…this is Yolie she's Davis's mother." Sora told him Tai extended his hand to her. "Hi…nice to finally met you." He replied.

She smiled at both of them. "Yeah…it is. So where are the kids?" Yolie asked, Tai thought for a moment. "I believe they are at my mom's house…I could call over there and see--." She interrupted Tai. "No it's okay I just want to ask some questions about Davis." Yolie said to them. "Oh…sure you can ask." Sora said to her.

"Well you see lately me and um my husband have been fighting a lot…but that's because…Davis isn't my husbands kid." Yolie said. "Oh he isn't." Sora asked. "Yeah…I got pregnant with Davis when I was 17." She replied. "That's when we got pregnant too. It was really bad…but me and Tai went through it all and got married." Sora said. Yolie smiled at them happily. "I should have done that with Davis's father…. but the only thing was he had left on a soccer scholarship in Northern Japan. He doesn't even know he has a kid." She replied.

"Oh…my gosh…. hey do you mind honey I love you and everything but go into the kitchen and watch the dinner that you are cooking." Sora told him. "Okay I get it…I see when I'm not wanted here." Tai told her trying to sound hurt and failed miserably at it.

"I feel so bad for not telling him but I couldn't just ruin his career." Yolie said to her. "Oh hey….I'm sorry…I understand….that's what I thought first time when I found out I was pregnant." Sora replied.

"Any ways me and Ken my husband fought over it this week cause I guess it bothered him that I had that child with that guy. But I didn't realize it bothered him that much…it just makes me so upset cause I don't know what to do." She sighed. "Was that guy you had Davis with his best friend?" she asked. Yolie looked up "Um…I guess they were…they were close friends." She replied. "I went out with My husbands best friend before…but that was when I was 16….I'd tell you if you want but lets just say things didn't go the way they had happened to you." Sora said to her. "Would you mind telling what happened?" Yolie asked her.

"Okay sure…when I was 16…Tai and I were best friends we have been since grade 4. Matt had asked me out first, when Tai was going to ask me out but he didn't get the chance too…which sent him into some weird state, he started to drinking…which turned out bad cause he nearly died. He was in the hospital and I was talking to him hoping for him to wake up which he had…I was so relieved when he did wake up…I realized that I love him…and we kind of cheated on the two people we were going out with at the time." She said. "Oh that's different from mine." Yolie said.

"What had happened was that me and Davis…" she stopped. "That's the guy's name?" Sora asked. She nodded. "Yeah…I named my little boy after him." She said. "That's thoughtful, please continue your story." Sora asked her.

"Okay…we fought constantly until this one miss hap had happened. We…were at a party and drank to much….Davis had broken up with a girl he liked her a lot…I guess I came and started to shout at him…he started to break down and cry in front of me…we comforted each other…it was sort of…he then admitted to me that he didn't mean to yell at me and that it was a cover up that he actually like me…I was surprised and we kissed it eventually lead to something more." She said to her. "Oh…whoa it sounds like something that would happen in a soap opera." Sora replied. "I know…the worst thing is that Davis doesn't know he has a kid." Yolie told her. "Yeah…have you told um…Davis Jr about his father yet?" Sora asked. " No I haven't he only knows Ken as his father…but sooner or later I have to tell him about his father." Yolie replied she looked at the ground.

The kids came through the door. "Oh hi Davis's mom." Saria said "Hi mom." Davis replied he walked over to her. Yolie hugged him. "Hi honey, how was you day?" she asked. "Okay. Mr. and Mrs. Kamiya are really nice." He replied. "Okay great we got to go so it was nice meeting you Sora and Tai…little Saria." Yolie smiled at them. "Bye Saria." Davis said he waved to her and her parents they all waved back and exited the house.

"Okay guess what girls…dinner's ready." Tai exclaimed the two both turned to him. "Okay daddy." Saria replied. Then Li started to cry. "Oh Li come on. If I cook it can't be that bad." Tai said. Sora laughed, as did his daughter. "Funny dad." Saria told him.

Saria was sent to her grandmother's house…for the night as well as Li. It was now 7:00pm…. Kari was taking the comforting time of rocking her nephew.

Saria played with some Lego. Her aunt had gone upstairs, put Li to sleep her grandma were sleeping as well as her grandpa we asleep on the couch. Saria sighed…and looked around. 'oh my Harry Potter book…but it's still at home. I'm sure mom and dad won't mind if I interrupted there own time.' She thought.

Saria opened the door to her house…she stepped in and could hear noise's coming from her parents bed room she ignored it and went to her room and searched for her book which she didn't find…she went toward the desk and saw he Harry Potter book that was covered by a poster…of some kind she looked at poster and gasped…. She looked at their bedroom door and could barely make out what her mother was saying but she could tell.

"Tai…oh…Tai…" She heard her mother gasping out her father's name with a suddenly loudness.

She then looked to the poster tears had started to weld up in her eyes and dropped the poster onto the ground and ran toward the door and left her house.
