"Out of the million people, why does it have to happen to me!?!?" said a raven haired girl as, for the fifth time, she plummeted into the dark unknown. Without a sound she continued falling until she landed on the ground. She rose from the ground and stared at the giant blue dragon above her that has plaguing her dreams for the past five days. The dragon watched in amusement as she got up from the floor and dusted herself off.
"Well, what do you want with me?" she said lazily, folding her arms over her chest.
"HAVE YOU MADE YOUR DECISION!!!" bellowed the dragon. The poor girl gritted her teeth in pain as she shielded her ears from the booming creature. The large dragon cleared its throat and when it spoke again its voice was much softer.
"Sorry about that. I sometimes forget who I‘m talking to. So have you made your decision?" The girl looked at it as if it was speaking another language. The heavenly creature sighed as he stared at the dumbfounded human.
"Okay, I'll start from the beginning. Long ago, a great evil was banished from this land by eight heroes. Recently it has escaped from its confinement but it is much stronger. It plans to gather enough evil to conquer this world as well as yours . You have been chosen, along with four others, to destroy the evil and save...."
"Hold up there," she exclaimed. "How do you think small, pathetic me is suppose to take on something like that!"
"Well, if you will let me finish you'll know how," replied the dragon. The girl sat down and gave him the signal to continue.
"Thank you. If you do agree, you will be given powers that you've never dreamed of." She scratched her chin and thought about it. "Sounds very tempting but what happens if I refuse?"
"Then the world as we know it will be destroyed in a matter of weeks."
"Live in my world until it's destroyed or go in an unknown world and fight of some weirdo creatures with some strange powers that talking dragon gives me," she said as she weighed the possible choices. "Tell you what," she said as she got up, "I'll think about it and give you an answer when I go to sleep again. Since that‘s the only time you choose to bother me!!"
"How about you give me your answer in the afternoon," the dragon suggested.
"Fine. How will you communicate with me?"
"Don't worry about that. Now, you might want to wake up now so you can have enough time to get to school."
------
Seventeen year old Jamie Roberts shot up in her bed, a cold sweat dripping down her forehead. That was the same way she’d awakened every night for the last five days. She removed her black hair to her tan forehead and looked at the alarm clock on her nightstand.
5:56. Still have four minutes of sleep left. She covered her head with the thick covers and started to go to sleep when she felt a mass move next to her. She sat up in the bed and slowly turned her head. Next to her was her boyfriend who was wearing a long sleeve green shirt and blue jeans. His short blonde hair covered his green eyes as he laid in her bed with his hand propping his head.
“Time to wake up,” he stated. Unfortunately her sense were blurred and instead thought he was something else.
“RAPIST!!!” She screamed in a loud voice before leaning back and then send a fist right to his cheek. The seventeen year old boy was caught off guard and he flew off the bed when the punch connected with his cheek. Once the boy hit the floor, Jaime rubbed her eyes and slowly peeked over her bed. That‘s when she saw that the “rapist” was actually her boyfriend who was now groaning in pain.
“Oops.”
“Uhhh.. That hurt…” She helped him off the floor as she got out of bed
“Well Damien, no one told you to climb into my bed. You know how discoordinated I am in the morning.”
“Something told me not to go but it was calling me. ‘Go on,’ it said. ‘You know you want to.’” She grabbed a nearby pillow and smacked him over the head.
“Now that I’m up I have to go and get ready,” she said as she grabbed a nearby robe. She then left the room and headed for the bathroom. Damien came out of her and sat on a nearby stool as her front door closed. His fifteen year old cousin had just entered the house. He red hair matched the shirt he was wearing with white underwear A/N: Not you boxers or you briefs and baggy jeans. He kicked off his skates before turning to the blonde that was in the kitchen.
“Whoa, that some mark you got. Did the boxer give it to you?”
“Yeah, Scott, she gave it to me. Though I was a rapist and I was sent flying off the bed,” he replied as he rubbed his red cheek. Scott just laughed as he took a seat next to the blonde.
“I am terribly sorry but I already told you what would happen if you wake me up early.”
Jamie was standing in the hallway wearing a pair of black jeans and a black shirt that had “Bite Me” in red.
“Did you get,” she asked Scott. “Yeah, I got it.” He went to his bag and took out a container and handed it to the girl. She quickly grabbed it and ran for the nearby couch. Damien laughed as he watched her girlfriend massacre the container.
“Let me guess. French Vanilla?”
Scott smirked at his older cousin. “Bingo. They had a discount on it. I thought I would give the coffee to her as a “Sorry” present for dying her head green last week.”
Jaime hurdled over the couch and patted Scott on the head. “Then I forgive you.” She went to the closet and grabbed her skates for the floor. “Well what are you waiting for.” The two boys looked at the girl and followed her lead. They put on their skates and headed out the door.
------
It was a cool autumn morning. Most people were busying themselves for the day ahead while others stayed in bed, not caring that they‘ll get penalized for lateness. Down on the street level there were a few people on the streets walking to work or to school. It was a pretty peaceful morning. That was until a shriek was heard. Most people turned around while those who traveled on these streets daily dove into random houses. A green, black, and red blur passed most people as they tried to get out of the way of the rash skaters. People were fleeing the streets as they zoomed by. Some jumped into cars while others ran into buildings. All of them knew that once these three were on their skates that no one was safe.
Once they made it onto the school ground, order was restored to chaotic streets.
Jamie looked at the large building that loomed in front of her. Carlson High. Her mortal enemy. All three of them took deep breaths as they skated into the high school of hell.
The ugly, bright green hallways were filled with the usual groups: the jocks, the cheerleaders or the extremely popular, the geeks and nerds, the Goths, the honor students and the class clowns. If you were to put Jamie, Scott, and Damien in one group then it would be the ones who just want the day to be over. She calmly skated over to her ugly, dismal brown locker and took her skates off and shoved them in her bag. It was starting to be a good day until one voice made it go down hill.
“Hey Jamie!! I, like, totally love your shirt. It is, like, so hard core!!!” She slowly turned around and saw the image of a typically American Valley Girl. The blond hair, blue eyed girl with a skirt that did not allow her to bend down properly was coming straight for her with her followers and there was no place for the Jamie to hide. “Hello Sandra. How are you,” she said through gritted teeth. The blonde girl threw her hair over her shoulder as she stopped in front of Jamie.
“Well, first I broke a nail and then I broke up with that loser Brad when he said I should be quiet for a change. Can you believe that? I’m the quietest person around and then……” While the girl continued rambling for twelve minutes, Jaime was quietly counting to 900. Once she got to 910 she rose from the floor and gave the ditz a fake smile. “Listen. Tell me every detail after school because if you keep going on with your story we’ll be late for first period.” The clueless girl kept chatting until she saw Jamie enter a her first period classroom. “OK!! I’ll talk to you later!”
Jamie sighed to herself a took her normal seat next Damien. Scott was located two seats down. “Sandra the bimbo kept you?” The raven haired girl just groaned in response. The bell rung and first period began. The teacher, Ms. Davis, came in and turned her attention to the class. “Before I begin today’s lesson,” she started, “we have two new students.” Just then two students entered the room. “Ah, yes. This is Kathleen and Gregory Adams. Kathleen, you can sit next to Jamie and Gregory, you can sit behind Scott.” Kathleen was a petit girl with hazel eyes and long brown hair that was braided in the back. She wore a plain red shirt and baggy blue jeans. Her brother on the other hand was a muscular teen. He wore a black muscle shirt that matched his hair and he also wore a pair of baggy green jeans. His brown eyes scanned the classroom before he and Kathleen took their seats.
“Okay class, turn to page twenty-four and we will continue learning about forces…”
Jaime turned to the new girl and started to chat with her.
“Hello there. I am called the Supreme Overlord of the Educational System but as the teacher said you can also call me Jamie.”
Kathleen smirked at the blonde. “Well, hello your Majesty. I’m Kathleen or Kathy as the teacher said.”
Jamie started to chuckle to herself before turning to the new girl. “Something tells me that we are going to become best friends.” The person on Kathleen’s other side cleared his throat. Kathleen was confused when Scott took her hand.
“Hi there,” Scott said, her hand in his. “You must be Juliet because this Romeo has been looking everywhere for you.” He started to kiss her hand until he felt a paw-like hand on his shoulder. “That means I must be Tybalt in someway,” said the new voice. Scott turned around and stared into the mass that was Gregory. “Touch my little sister again and I’ll make sure you don’t feel anything for a year.” Scott’s eyes widened as he sank into his seat.
Oh yeah. This should be very interesting.
Before anyone knew it, it was 11:41 and the only thing that was in Jamie’s head was the name of the period: Lunch. Once the bell rang, she bolted from her French class with Damien in tow. After throwing their books in their lockers, they rushed downstairs to see if they could find Kathleen and Gregory. In the large lunchroom Jamie saw her new friends waving her towards her. Greg and Kathie had found one of the senior circular tables and they sat across from each other. She took a seat next to Kat and Damien took the chair between Jamie and Gregory. “Greg, Kat, this is my boyfriend Damien.”
The said their hellos and shook hands just as Scott meekly sat next to Gregory. The taller boy just smiled as Scott watched the floor. Kathleen laughed and put and hand on Scott’s shoulder. “Don’t worry about Gregory. He’s a little over protective of me.”
Jamie finally broke the silence by slamming her fist on the table. “Okay first order of business,” she said as she turned to each of them. “We want to welcome Gregory and Kathleen to The Table but first you must take the pledge. Raise your right hand. Do you both swear to hate school and all schoolwork given to you and do you swear to hate all the groups with arrogance which are the jocks, cheerleaders and honor students?”
“I do.”
“Great. I here by declare that Gregory and Kathleen Adams are full members of The Table.”
“Now for secondary business.” Her voice became serious as she looked at each of person seated at The Table.
“For the past few nights I’ve been having the same dream. It always started me floating in the darkness and then I hit the floor and meet a blue dragon.” By this time everyone’s eyes were huge and trained on the raven haired girl. “Then he tells me that I need to go save our worlds with some other people and if not the world will be destroyed. Weird, huh.” It was totally quiet for a few moments before the remaining four said the same sentence in unison: “I had the same dream!”
Jamie looked at her comrades and then put her head in her hands in frustration. “Major freaky.”
“Well,” Greg began while looking at Jamie, “Are you going to go?” The girl looked at the others before responding. “Hell yeah. No one screws up this world but me and of course you guys. Plus I can finally get some sleep in. As a matter of fact,” she then got up, grabbed her bag and headed towards the back stairs towards the computer lab, “I’m going to find that dragon and tell him myself. Anybody else with me?” The rest of them looked at each other before Damien rose from his chair and grabbed his stuff as well. “You know I gotta watch over you so you won’t hurt yourself. Or anyone else for that matter.”
The girl suck her tongue at him as he walked over to her. Then she turned her attention to the three people still seated in the chairs. “Any more takers?” The three looked at each other before rising, taking their stuff and following the two to the computer labs. Once in the labs, Jamie logged onto one of the computers as the other four looked on. Not even two minutes into her session, a message box pops up with its sender being Blue_Dragon and the message only three words: Yes or No?
Jamie typed in ’yes’ and looked at each person. Each person nodded and gave her the okay. She inhaled deeply and then pressed Enter. A second later she got a response: Good.
A bright light was emitted from the computer and the five teens covered their eyes from the light. Once the light died down, the teens were gone.
------
Jamie woke up to a splitting headache. She slowly opened her eyes and found out that she was outside. She also saw that her fellow friends were also transported here, but they were all knocked out cold. She got up from the soft grass to stretch and survey her surroundings. The place was like a person‘s paradise. The grassy pasture was filled with flowers as a small river flowed from a nearby lake. She looked up and saw the sky was as blue as Scott’s eyes and the sun was so bright that she had to actually shield her eyes even if she looked at it for a second which was highly uncommon for the girl.
She continued taking in her surroundings until she heard a noise come from some nearby bushes. She stared at the bushes and prepared herself. Suddenly a little orange dinosaur jumped from the bushes and landed at Jamie’s feet. “Hi, I’m Agumon,” said the creature, “Welcome to the Digital World.” Jamie stared at the thing and it stared back. After twelve minutes of staring, she stated chuckling and the chuckling turned to laughter as Agumon stared at her confusion.
“Okay. This must be a weirdo dream I’m having in English, since that’s the only class I sleep in,” she stated. “So let me pinch my self and wake up.” She pinched her arm but she was still there in front of the dinosaur. Her eyes widened when she saw it didn’t work. “So,” she said to Agumon, “I’m not dreaming, ma I?”
“Nope. This is all real.”
“That’s what I thought,” said the girl before she blacked out and felt herself fall to the floor with Agumon standing over her.
She later woke up in a soft futon with an older man watching over her. He brown hair matched the color of his off white and beige robe. He laughed as the girl woke up. “So you finally wake up.” The cranky girl rolled over out of the futon and mumbled something incoherent to the man. She stretched and got up from the floor. She looked around and saw that she was no longer outside but in some small house. She also saw that there were four other futons but they were empty. “Okay, you,” she said as she turned to the mysterious man. Even though the man was about a foot taller than she, Jamie was still able to hoist him up by the shoulders as she started to shake him.“ Who are you and where are the others,” she demanded.
“We’re right here,” said a feminine voice. Jamie dropped Agumon on his rear and turned to the doorway. Kat, Scott, Greg and Damien were all in the doorway smirking at her. “Hey there.” She waved back to them and yawned. “I’m thirsty. Does anyone have coffee?” A/N: I am a coffee freak. I want coffee. I think I’ll go get some now Damien stepped forward with a large cup. “You mean this,” he asked. Jamie stole the cup out of his hands and cherished the caffeiney goodness. Kathy and Greg looked at the dancing teen and then at Scott and Damien. “She loves her coffee,” they replied. The siblings nodded and continued to look at the silly girl before she sat on the futon. She drank it in once gulp and sighed happily.
“Okay people,” she said while handing the mug back to Kathy, “Now that we’re all here, what do we do?”
“I believe I can answer that,” said a mysterious voice form above. They all looked up and saw a large blue dragon appear on the ceiling. “Hello there. I am Azulongmon and welcome to the Digital World.”
“Hello? Why are we here in the first place,” Scott started.
“I’m glad you asked. Like I’ve been telling you in your dreams, a great evil has escaped from its confinement and it is up to you five to destroy it. We have called this evil ChaosPiedmon. We have just found that he is planning to take over the Digital World and then your world and you must stop this from happening!”
“Okay I’m all for that idea but how in the hell are supposed to fight it,” inquired Damien.
“I’m glad you asked. Gennai,” he started, “take them to the temple. I will meet you there.” Then Azulongmon disappeared.
“Please follow me,” said the man. With Gennai leading them the five left the house with their bags in tow. They were lead through a lush forest filled with trees and flowers that they’ve never seen before. They later found a vine covered temple. The guardian led them inside the musky temple and into a large dome shaped room. Inside the middle of the room Azulongmon was floating above five different colored stones: red, blue, orange, yellow and green. Gennai ushered them into the room and then stood next to Azulongmon. Once they were all in the room all of the stones started to glow.
“Now Damien, you asked me a question about how are you going to beat this evil. The stones you see before you are the answer. Unfortunately, I cannot tell you about what power they hold. That is what you must find out on your own. So who’ll be the first to receive their new powers?”
All of them stood like statues until Scott broke the silence.
“C’mon Jamie. You’re the leader. You go first.”
“Why me? You go! I‘m not the leader,” she exclaimed.
“How about we take a vote? Whoever wants Jamie as the leader raise their hand.” Four hands shot in the air while Scott wore a triumphant grin. “Then it’s settled. Jamie, you’re the leader.”
“I hate you all,” said the new leader as she walked to the five stones. When she approached them all of them went out except the orange stone. She stood two inches in front of the stone and looked at the dragon.
“What am I supposed to do now?”
“Just touch the stone and it’ll do the rest.” Jamie shrugged her shoulders at the response and turned towards the rock. She took her hand and touched the stone. She suddenly gasped in pain and fell to her knees, her hand still on the stone.
“JAMIE!!!” Damien ran forward towards the girl but Gennai intercepted him and held him back.
“What are you doing!?!?”
“Be patient. She isn’t in any pain. Just in shock form energy loss,” said the guardian as he struggled with the blonde male. Just then the glowing died away and Jamie stood on her feet, swaying a little. Damien broke from Gennai’s grip and ran over to the dazed girl with the others trailing behind him.
“Are you okay? Speak to me!”
She blinked a few times before looking at her friends with a goofy smile on her face. “Can we do that again?” The others looked at her like she was crazy while Gennai, laughed in the background.
“What was it like,” asked a nervous Kat.
“Scott, you know the back massager I got you for Christmas? Picture the machine on the highest level possible. It was so heavenly. Look, I even got a little reminder from it.” She showed them the back of her left hand and there was a symbol of a sun in orange A/N: If you don't know what this is then just close the window and never go to this site again.
“See,” said Gennai, “I told you it’s nothing bad was going to happen so why don’t the rest of you do the same.” Jamie saw that the others were still hesitant and decided to give them a little boost. “Listen guys, we’ve already cross the point of no return so I say let’s go all the way!” The others nodded and turned to the stone and touched a separate one. They all felt the same effects but soon recovered form them.
“Excellent. The first part of your journey is complete.”
Jaime was somewhat irked by the dragon’s statement. “What else do have to do?”
“All of you must feel a little drained after you touched the stone, right?” Everyone nodded their head and listened as Azulongmon continued. “That is because you were only given half of you power. You must travel north to the next temple were you will receive the rest of you powers.”
“But how do we use these powers,” asked Gregory.
“That my friend I can not answer. You must find out on your own. Farewell to you all.” He started to disappear when he looked to them again. “Also Tyson will be traveling with you as well so he can help you unlock the power that courses through you . You’ll meet the other guardian when you reach the temple. I wish you all with the best of luck. I‘ll be in contact.” Then the dragon disappeared.
“Well,” said the raven haired girl. “you heard Azulongmon. We’re headed north.” She started towards the door with the others behind her, not knowing of what dangers that they will encounter.
------
Far away from that temple, a lone figure stands on a balcony of a dark castle. Behind him another figure appears.
“What is it, Black Agumon,” said the mysterious figure. The Black Agumon stepped from its hiding place and bowed down.
“I’m sorry to bother ChaosPiedmon but Azulongmon has found several humans and has sent them to destroy you.”
“Hmm.. Let them come then. I will not be defeated by pathetic humans like time. You are dismissed, Black Agumon.” The small virus digimon nodded silently and left as quietly as he entered.
Suddenly, a large bear entered the dark room. “You called me, sir,” asked the large digimon.
“Yes, I did. Callismon, I have a little problem on my hand and I need you to eradicate it for me. It seems that Azulongmon has gotten a hold of my plans and has sent a band of ‘warriors’ to stop me.”
“And let me guess, you want me to make sure that they don’t get too far, right?”
“Now your getting the idea!”
“That won’t be a problem ChaosPiedmon. Consider them already gone,” said Callismon. He disappeared into the shadows, leaving ChaosPiedmon to his thoughts.
“There is no way I’m letting history repeat itself…”
