Chapter 1
Authors note: Inspired to make this fanfic by this wonderful fanart I saw on the internet of Takuya as a warrior & Kouji as a wizard… check it out for yourself! www.matmice.com/home/piccy_fanart I’m trying to become a member, but I have to put my pictures up on a website 1st. Anyowho, this is my website, & hope you all will enjoy (the usual)
Disclaimer: (also the usual) I do not own Digimon Frontier (although I do own these digimon, for I made them. If a digimon you made up has the same name, I’m terribly sorry.) I’ll put up those piccys soon too & let you have a look at them.
‘ Dear Journal,’ Kanbara Takuya wrote. Groaning, he dipped more ink into his pen & started to write again. This gets so annoying! He thought as he continued his writing.
‘ The year is August 18th, 1804… guess what? It’s my’ Takuya dipped more ink in his pen & started on his writing again when his little brother, Shinya, burst into his room.
“ Get out!” he yelled. “ Is this any way to treat the birthday boy?”
“ You always do that on my birthday.” Shinya replied, sticking his tongue out. Takuya gave him a grimace look, & Shinya, who had a scared expression on his face, rushed off to see what his mother was doing.
“ Okay, 1 more time…” Takuya started as he tried to finish his journal…
‘ 16th birthday! I’m so excited! All my frie’
The ink ran out on him again. Takuya threw his hands up in disgust & closed the book shut.
“ Hey, mom, what’s that smell?” Takuya asked as he sniffed the air, already knowing what the answer was.
“ It’s strawberry.” She replied.
Figures.
“ Don’t eat it yet, cause I know how you do.” She said, watching his son hide a strawberry behind his back. She whacked his head with her wooden spoon as she sat there, watching him put it back on the cake.
“ Okay, okay!” Takuya said, giving up. “ I won’t touch it. But can I go see my friends?”
“ They might be on their way.” Mrs. Kanbara answered.
“ Where’s dad?”
“ At the bar. He won’t be back for awhile though.”
“ I see.”
The doorbell finally rang, making Takuya a little bit more excited. Swinging open the door he saw 1 of his best friends, Himi Tomoki, holding a wrapped present.
“ Cool!” Takuya said. “ What is it?” he could tell it’s round, but he was still stumped on the answer.
“ It’s new…” Tomoki said, giving Takuya another hint.
“ Could it be… a soccer ball?” he asked, thinking of how far he could kick the soccer ball across the yard without breaking another window in his house.
Just then, there was another knock on the door. Takuya opened the door once again to see a princess walk in with a purple dress & 3 presents in her hands.
“ Wow, for me?” Takuya asked.
:” No, 1 is for you, but I ran into a couple of guys & they gave me some of presents.” She replied.
“ Princess Izumi, you must be really popular!” Takuya exclaimed.
“ Well, I am!” she giggled to herself.
The last knock on the door warned Takuya that all of his friends were here, & he already knew who it was.
“ Hi Junepi!” Takuya said.
“ Here.” Junepi said, handing Takuya an opened (& half-eaten) chocolate bar. “ I would give you a whole one, but I ate half of it on the way.
“ O…kay!” Takuya said, slowly eating the half-eaten chocolate bar.
“ Is everyone here, I’m starved!’ Shinya complained to Mrs. Kanbara.
“ Looks like it.” She replied. She pulled out the strawberry cake from the fridge (so Takuya wouldn’t sneak another bite) & placed it on the table.
“ HAPPY BIRTHDAY, TAKUYA!” everyone exclaimed.
“ Thanks very much.” Takuya replied, cutting a slice of cake for everyone.
Just then, there was a rumbling noise from outside. Takuya & Junepi looked out the window to see the small town covered in darkness, both on the sky & on the ground. The house turned dark as well, the family & guests not able to see a thing.
“ Where are you, everybody?” Shinya asked, fear in his voice.
“ Someone help me, I can’t see… & I gotta go to the bathroom!” Tomoki yelled.
“ What’s going on?” Junepi asked.
Takuya couldn’t reply, for his mouth was closed shut by a hand. Dark aurora surrounding him, he was sucked into the hole from beneath his feet before his guests & his family were finally able to see the light again.
“ Where’s the birthday boy?” Princess Izumi asked.
“ This can’t be good…” Junepi said. “ Takuya… TAKOOOOOOYAAAAAAA!”
“ Forget about it, you can’t just call him.” Shinya replied. “ You gotta play his game… he’s playing hide & seek…”
“ He hardly does that.” Tomoki said. “ He says he doesn’t like the game.”
“ You’re right.” Princess Izumi said, thinking. “ I suggest you guys look for him.”
“ ANYTHING FOR YOU, MISTRESS.” Junepi exclaimed, searching top & bottom for Takuya.
“ I’ll go look too.” Tomoki said. “ Shinya & Princess Izumi, you try to comfort Mrs. Kanbara here.” The two turned to see Mrs. Kanbara, wailing for her son to come back
“ Don’t worry.” Princess Izumi said. “ Before you know it, Takuya will be sleeping in your hands…”
Mrs. Kanbara cried even louder.
“ Think she got it the wrong way?” Shinya asked.
Izumi sighed, knowing this would take while before the birthday boy returns…
Where am I, Takuya thought, feeling himself falling. Am I dying… it can’t be, it’s my 16th birthday… Suddenly, he saw a faint light coming from below him. Whatever happens, I just hope I land somewhere safe. He felt himself falling closer to the light, & shielded his eyes with his arms as he was being pulled closer to the light…
“ Oww, that hurts!”
Takuya sat up to see he landed in a forest, filled with blue stems & orange leaves. He stood up to see he sat on a small animal he never saw before. Big purple eyes & soft yellow skin, it smiled a little & said, “ Hi! You fell from the sky, so you must be the flame warrior, right?”
Takuya, who was still confused, rubbed his head & groaned, not knowing what he was talking about.
“ Hi! Nice to meet ya! I’m Futumon!”
“ Oh.” He replied. “ Well, I’m…”
“ You’re Kanbara Takuya, I know.”
“ How?”
“ Well, I’m a Futumon, which means I know the future for one, plus you’re a legend here!”
“ I am?” Takuya thought out loud.
“ Yup! Need help here?”
“ Where am I?” Takuya asked.
“ I read about you & at 1st, you didn’t know your way around here at all! This is the Digital World!”
“ This is… the what now?” Takuya asked.
“ The Digital World!” it repeated. “ A world made with Data, & filled with Digital Monsters like me! We’re called Digimon- Digital Monsters!”
“ Makes sense.” Takuya said. He looked down to see he wasn’t wearing his normal Adidas outfit at all. He was instead in a red flaming outfit, with a long sleeved shirt & big baggy pants. On his belt buckle he saw he had a long sword filled with bright red aurora. On the other side he could see a small red device, though he couldn’t recognize what it was.
“ Cool!” he exclaimed. “ So I really am a warrior here! But what’s this?” he asked, pulling out the device from his belt.
“ Oh, that’s what they call a Digi-Pure device.” He replied. “ You can turn into 1 of us, plus you can purify evil with that. It’s 1 of the most powerful weapons a human could ever hold here… plus the flaming sword, the light staff, & the darkness talisman. You have the flaming sword, in case you didn’t know.”
“ So where’s the staff & talisman?” Takuya asked.
“ They already have an owner.” Futumon said, thinking. “ The light staff belongs to the greatest wizard who is also a human. He has the element of light. The talisman is a big ball filled with complete darkness that can destroy the Digital World. It recently belongs to a Digimon Villain, but he holds the element of… well, darkness!”
“ I see…” Takuya thought.
“ Which is why I bought you here!” Futumon said. “ The villain in charge of darkness wants to destroy the Digital World, & we can’t take it anymore. This is our home, & we don’t want it destroyed. From what I found out in research, only the power of Flame & Light can destroy Darkness… you do that, & you can return home…”
“ So I’m stuck here?” Takuya whined, remembering his birthday.
“ I’m afraid so.” He replied. “ But cheer up, buddy! Think of your adventures here! Meet new people, become a hero… well, you sorta are already a hero…”
“ Fine.” Takuya agreed, making Futumon bounce up & down. “ YAY! TAKUYA STAYS! YAY TAKUYA STAYS!”
“ So where do I start?” Takuya asked.
“ Well, 1st I suggest we make an alliance with the light wizard at the palace of light.”
“ Where’s the Palace of Light?”
“ Well, follow me!” Futumon suddenly turned from a small baby leveled digimon into a huge ultimate leveled digimon. Flaming on all 4’s, Futumon was a tremendous Dragon Digimon, silky yellow with gigantic purple eyes.
“ Get on my back.” He replied.
Takuya hopped on as the new Futumon raced off to the large tower filled with light blue aurora, warning the newcomers that it was very dangerous. Takuya seemed to know that, like he lived in the digital world his whole life, for he discovered he was quivering with fear.
“ No worries, Takuya.” Futumon said. “ I really can’t fight, because it’s forbidden in my species, but I have faith in you. You just gotta have hope.”
“ You’re right.” Takuya said, staring at the tall tower. “ Okay, I’ll do my best.”
“ All right then, let’s get started!” Futumon said as he flew down to their destination.
“ Umm… master…” a small wizard said, bowing his head down. “ Someone is here to see you.”
“ Okay, you know what to do.” He replied.
The wizard ran off to see that Futumon & Takuya were still waiting for the reply to their question.
“ Sorry, but in order to see the great one, you must complete this mission.” He said. He pointed at Takuya & said, “ Follow me.”
“ Sorry buddy, can’t help you.” Futumon said as Takuya followed the small wizard down the stairs into a small dark room.
“ Where am I?” Takuya asked.
“ You are in the dungeon of a wizards creation.” The wizard replied. “ His name is HikariYamimon, but we don’t bother to name him that, cause he always uses the element of darkness.
“ Is he the owner of the Darkness Talisman?” Takuya asked, just curious of the answer.
The wizard laughed, confusing Takuya even more.
“ Of course not!’ he replied, wiping a tear from his eye. “ If HikariYamimon ever fought the owner of The Darkness Talisman, he would be nothing but ashes & dust. The owner shouldn’t even bother to waste his power on the poor guy, although he is the 3rd most powerful thing in this palace. Every warrior who claims to be the legendary flame master has fought him & became HikariYamimon’s dinner!” the wizard laughed even harder.
“ Wow, what a nice welcome.” Takuya said.
“ Get used to it, cause we have the warmest welcome here.”
“ Well, this world will have to do a lot better, because I am the legendary flame master.”
“ Yeah, yeah.” The wizard said, waving his hand. “ That’s what they all say!” He pushed Takuya into the dungeon, snickering. “ Good luck… you’ll need it!” he laughed even harder than the last time, slamming the door shut.
“ Hmm, is that human I smell?” HikariYamimon asked. “ Mmm… my favorite.”
“ Don’t try to scare me!” Takuya yelled. “ I’m not afraid of you!”
“ We’ll see about that, now won’t we?” Suddenly, the room was filled with darkness. Takuya, who wished they had a little light, yelled, “ Where are you? Come out you coward!”
“ Me?” he laughed. “ I’m no coward! You, on the other hand, should bow down to me, if you know what’s good for you.”
“ Never!” Takuya yelled, thrusting his sword forward & stabbing HikariYamimon in the heart. He grabbed the sword & pulled it out of his chest, throwing it on the ground. The red aurora seemed to die out.
“ Is that all you have?” he snickered, grabbing Takuya & raising him to his mouth. Trying to break free, Takuya tried to kick his way out. A bright light appeared from his Digi-Pure device as he pulled it from out of his belt. HikariYamimon, who was being revealed by the light, threw Takuya down as he raised the device up high.
“ Get ready to see some real power!” Takuya yelled, being surrounded by flames.
“ FLAME WARRIOR, GO!” Takuya yelled. When the flames died out, Takuya digivolved into a Huge Digimon with Flaming shield, a puck outfit & the flaming sword, actually burning in the fire.
“ Who are you?” HikariYamimon yelled, stepping back.
“ I am you’re worst nightmare!” he yelled. He placed the sword in his belt & flicked his hands, which were flaming as well. Get ready to feel the real power of the Legend! Flame KO Puncher!” The flames flew off the Digimon’s hand as it crashed on HikariYamimon’s chest, making him fall back & land on the cement ground. Takuya grabbed his sword & jumped up. “ Flaming Sword Activate!” he finally yelled, turning the evil digimon into a shadow with flame surrounding him.
“ You’re evil doing is over!” he yelled. He grabbed the Digi-Pure device & HikariYamimon was sucked into the device, leaving him a small red ball. Takuya de-digivolved & grabbed the ball, running to Futumon & happy he made it out in 1 piece.
“ That yell… Those attacks…” the wizard said, surprised. “ You must be…”
“ Yes.” Takuya replied. “ I am the Legend.”
“ His name is WarriFlamemon.” He replied, showing both Takuya & Futumon the picture.
“ Yea, that’s me.” He replied. “ He gave me this.” He handed the wizard a red ball, which burst into flames.
“ Sorry.” The wizard said, bowing his head. “ It only works in the dark. That was the flame talisman, but you don’t really need it. HikariYamimon was probably using this to make himself stronger… anything that has to do with Darkness makes him stronger… though the sword is a lot more powerful than that little talisman.”
“ Can I see him now?” Takuya asked.
“ Yes, 1 moment please.” As Takuya waited for the wizard to come, he noticed every wizard who was down that hall stopped then they were doing & bowed down in respect to see the wizard master finally arrived.
Takuya bowed down for respect too, but the master commanded that he stood back up.
“ I thou shall…” the wizard stopped for a moment. “ Oh never mind, hi!”
“ Who are you?” Takuya asked.
“ I am what they call Kouji-sama, but I’m just a regular kid too. Name’s Minamoto Kouji.”
“ Kanbara Takuya, nice to meet you...” Takuya thrust his hand out but stopped when Kouji bent down & kissed his hand in respect.
“ Okay, so I guess that’s a greeting to you guys…” Takuya said, still shocked by the greeting.
“ Did you need my help?” Kouji asked.
“ Well, I’m the Flame Warrior, &…” before Takuya could finish, he noticed Kouji pulled out a stick that was his size, with a huge blue ball, the colors of the sky & sea.
“ Wow, is that the light staff?” Takuya asked.
“ Yes, it is.” Kouji replied. “ It’s all powerful, & with your powers & mines, we will defeat that dark monster. Is that why you’re here?”
“ Yes…” Takuya answered.
“ Good… I’ll fight with you.” Kouji said. He turned to the wizards & said. “ You may now proceed.” As the wizards walked back to their destinations, Takuya noticed on Kouji’s shoulder was a small baby leveled digimon with dark blue skin & bright blue eyes.
“ Wow!” Takuya said. “ Which Digimon is that?”
“ So it is true.” Kouji replied. “ The Flame Warrior is able to see my Digimon. His name is DawnWolfmon.”
“ What about the others?” Takuya asked.
“ Well, no one can see it exept the Flame warrior, The Darkness Warrior & me of course!” he replied, giving Takuya his 1st smile. Takuya smiled back.
“ So, shall we head to find this dark digimon?” Futumon asked. Kouji spun around, a confused expression on his face.
“ I know you can’t see me, but I’m Futumon.” He replied. “ Nice to meet you, Kouji-sama!”
“ Please, just call me Kouji.” He replied.
“ Why can’t he see you?” Takuya asked.
“ The light warrior is also forbidden to see me.” Futumon said. “ It’s weird, I know, but that’s how things go. You on the other hand, can see any digimon!”
“ Cool!” Takuya said. “ So I’m really that special…”
Kouji fell to the ground.
“ Okay, lets get going you two!” Futumon said, turning into the yellow dragon digimon once again. “ We gotta get going, if we wanna get Tacky home on time!”
“ How did you know my nickname?” Takuya asked.
“…. Just a coincidence.” He replied. “ I am a Futumon, you know…”
“ Oh, right.” Takuya remembered as he hopped on Futumon. He noticed Kouji’s Digimon turned into a big wolf Digimon, with light blue fur & small dotted black eyes. Wow, it’s so cool, Takuya thought.
“ Now hold on tight!” Futumon said. “ We gotta get going, as we know… onward to the Darkness Castle!”
“ The… WHATT!” Takuya screamed as Futumon flew towards the forest again, with DawnWolfmon galloping by their side…

Sighs, staring at her chapter, then yawns you know, it’s about… 2:16 am here. So I’m tired, & I gonna hit the sheets. Chapter 2 is called Light & Darkness doesn’t mix. The reason why I say that is because Kouji (in this chapter) is being corrupted by darkness. Sad, isn’t it…
