Kari lets out a loud sigh. She was back stage waiting for her turn in the concert the school held for fundraising. Kari was gonna go up in a few more acts so she was nervous. Gatomon then jumps on to her shoulder.

“Relax, Kari, you'll do fine!”
“I know, Gatomon, it's just…”
“Just?”
“Well, I haven't seen Tk, Yolei, or Ken around and when ever I ask the others hey just grin and say it's a surprise!”
“They're right! It is a surprise!” Gatomon grinned

Kari sighed as she heard the feline's answer.

“And now for our final performance, Kari Kamiya!”
“Wish me luck, Gatomon!”
“Why?”

Kari sweatdropped as she walked on stage, as she did the music began. Kari took in a deep breath then began.

I've always been the kind of girl
That hid my face
So afraid to tell the world
What I've got to say

Kari soon got in the swing of things and started dancing to the beat as the audience danced, clapped, or did both.

But I have this dream
Bright inside of me

Kari's eyes scanned the crowd. She found all the digidestined there, waving and dancing to her singing; or at least most of them. Tk, Yolei , and Ken were missing.

“Wonder where they are?”

Do you know what it's like
To feel so in the dark
To dream about a life
Where you're the shining star
Even though it seems
Like it's too far away
I have to believe
In myself, it's the only way

As she paused, Kari was expecting Matt to do his guitar solo like they planned, but instead she hears someone singing.

The reason that I'm singing
I need to find you
I gotta find you

Kari turned her head to see Tk walking out from behind the curtains with a microphone in his hand. The crowd whistled as Tk made his entrance.

Kari couldn't help but smile.

Tk walked up to Kari and gently grasped her hand that wasn't holding her microphone.

Meanwhile backstage were Yolei and Ken watching everything from a TV. Yolei couldn't help but dance to the couples singing.

“Yolei?”
“Yeah Ken?”

This is me

Yolei soon finds herself pinned up against a wall, by none other then Ken Ichijouji.

“For the past two weeks you and Tk have been practicing that song. Don't you think I should get a reward for not strangling him?”
“A reward, huh?”

Ken reaches for Yolei's glasses and pulls them off.

“I guess you deserve a reward”

Soon the two were in a make out session.

Meanwhile back on stage, Tk and Kari are having the time of their lives. Tk leans in towards Kari.

The song inside of me

Kari smiles. She gets behind Tk and jumps onto his shoulders. She leans her head forwards and starts singing through Tk's microphone.

This is me
Yeaahhh

I hear inside my head
The reason that I'm singing

Kari gets of Tk and they both dance around the stage; their voices never falling or their smiles ever fading.

Now I've found who I am
There's no way to hold it in
No more hiding who I wanna be
This is me

The crowd erupted into shouts and whistles as the song ended. Tk leans in and whispers softly into Kari's ear.

“Happy Birthday, Kari”

Kari's eyes widened.

“You… remembered?”
“Of course!” Tk smiled gently, “How can I forget my girlfriend's birthday?”

And soon, just like Ken and Yolei, they had their own make out session; and on stage nonetheless. This made the cheers grow increasingly!

“So this is why I couldn't find those three… This is by far the best birthday ever!”
