I can still remember when it happened. Heh. Who wouldn't remember the day their heart was broken?

I remember when we shared our first kiss. It was on the trolley bus when we were coming home from the Digital World. Sure it was for comfort, but it would soon blossom into love.

I remember meeting her again when I moved to Odaiba. When I saw her angelic face, I could've sworn I felt my heart skip a beat. Oh how I've longed to see her. To see that face, that smile. Oh how I've longed to see my darling Hikari.

[Paper bags and angry voices]

[Under a sky of dust]

[Another wave of tension]

[Has more than filled me up]

I remember saving her from the Dark Ocean. That's when I silently vowed to myself that I would never let anything happen to her, my darling Hikari. I would forever be the protector of my Angel of Light.

[All my talk of taking action]

[These words were never true]

[Now I find myself in question]

[They point the finger at me again]

After that, we had been going out for nearly a year. People we knew would say: "I always knew those two would end up together," or: "They make the perfect couple." And they were right. We did make the perfect couple, Hikari and I. That is, until that God awful night.

We had just stepped out of the theatre and decided to take a walk through the park. As we walked, I could not help but notice the sad and depressing look on Hikari's face.

"Are you ok?" I asked, stopping and turning to face Hikari. "You seem a little pale. Like something bad has or is about to happen."

"Oh Takeru," she started, tears filling her eyes as she turned away, "I can't keep this up. There's no easy way to say this so I'll just say it. It's been great Takeru, but I don't love you in the way you love me. My love is for another. I'm sorry."

"Who is he?" I asked.

"It's… Daisuke. Oh please Takeru. Do not be mad. Please let us still remain friends."

I couldn't say no to her. No matter how hard it is and no matter how much I hate it, it's her life. It's her choice. It's her happiness. I smiled and nodded, giving her one last kiss on her forehead, before I walked towards home.

I really never got over her. Sure I've tried dating other women, but she would still be there, haunting my mind everywhere I go. I watched over the years as they grown close, Daisuke and her. I'd still be waiting for my chance to be back with Hikari. My angel. My love. My light.
