###INTRO SEQUENCE###

Narrator: After Tomoki finally snapped and let Bokomon have it, the group were deliberately separated (and not by the bad guys). Tomoki, after a brief conversation with his Spirits, stopped a Leomon capable of transforming into Panjamon from beating up a Black Tailmon. Now they are heading for Leomon's home. But Lord Cherubimon is sending a new, stronger Asuramon to deal with the Chosen of Ice...

###ACT ONE###

*THE FOREST FROM LAST EPISODE*

[Bokomon is still where Izumi kicked him. He hasn't moved since]

KOUCHI: (off-screen) Bokomon?

[BOKOMON looks up, tears in his eyes, to see Kouji and Kouchi emerging from the trees]

KOUJI: Are you crying?

BOKOMON: (quickly) What? No, no, of course not.

KOUCHI: You've just got something in your eye...

BOKOMON: Yeah, sure. Both eyes at once (sighs) Oh, alright, maybe I'm crying a little.

[Kouchi kneels down next to Bokomon]

KOUCHI: So what's the matter?

KOUJI: Maybe we can help.

[Bokomon stares at them]

KOUJI: [shrugs] It's a twin thing.

KOUCHI: Don't ask.

[Bokomon actually smiles at that, chuckling]

KOUCHI: So what is wrong?

BOKOMON: It's Neemon.

KOUJI: You two were close, huh?

BOKOMON: Ever since we were eggs it's just been him and me. As long as I can remember. And now it's all gone down the toilet.

KOUCHI: Not necessarily.

KOUJI: True, you've been an ass to him, and not nearly as good a friend as you should have.

KOUCHI: But if he still wants to be your friend, he'll forgive you.

BOKOMON: But what if he doesn't. You're right Kouji, I haven't exactly been the best of friends to him. My own brother...

KOUJI: You won't know till you apologise. Tell him you're sorry.

BOKOMON: You really think that'll work?

KOUCHI: (straightening) Hey, everybody deserves a second chance, right?

[Kouchi offers his hand. After a long moment, Bokomon takes it, smiling]

KOUJI: How's the Egg?

BOKOMON: (examining it) Fine. (wryly) Guess it's lucky Izumi kicked me in the head...

KOUCHI: No damage done then.

[Bokomon bops Kouchi on the head]

KOUCHI: Ow!

BOKOMON: Watch it.

KOUCHI: (hurt) I meant the egg.

BOKOMON: ('yeah right') Sure you did.

[They exchange glances. Both laugh]

BOKOMON: Where are the others, anyway?

KOUJI: We got separated. Come on, you two clowns, we'd better find them.

[Author's note: According to series continuity, Seraphimon's egg has hatched by this point. However, I have no idea what his personality is like and I'm a little too far in to write him in now. So in this story, the egg remains un-hatched]

*HIDDEN PATH*

[Leomon is escorting Tomoki, who is carrying the unconscious Black Tailmon]

TOMOKI: Is it much further? I think she's getting weaker.

LEOMON: You really care for her? A viral?

TOMOKI: It's hard to believe she could be evil when she's like this. So small and frail. Besides, I always thought cats were cute.

LEOMON: You have to remember, she's an Adult Digimon. In human terms, she's like a small, self-contained tank.

TOMOKI: Ah, she's a sweetie. Reminds me of a cat my family used to have as a pet. She died though.

LEOMON: Ah. I'm sorry. Did she have a name?

TOMOKI: Sala.

[Leomon chuckles softly]

TOMOKI: What?

LEOMON: In some areas, Tailmon is known as Gatomon. And Gatomon's Child form is known as Salamon.

TOMOKI: Huh, no kidding?

LEOMON: (smiling) I'm serious. Makes you think, doesn't it?

TOMOKI: Yeah (long pause) So what's Tailmon's Child form?

LEOMON: Plotmon. Same Digimon, just different names in different regions.

TOMOKI: That's weird. 'Plotmon' sounds more like a trench-coat Digimon. Probably carrying a magnifying glass, looking for clues.

LEOMON: (chuckles) They look like puppy Digimon, but they're actually cats. (He stops) We're here.

[They have arrived at the bottom of a sheer cliff]

TOMOKI: Where?

LEOMON: Home.

[Leomon walks right into the cliff, disappearing into it.

TOMOKI: (surprised) Huh? (realising) Hologram?

LEOMON: (off screen) Magic. Same difference, just without the electric bill.

TOMOKI: (to Black Tailmon) Don't worry. We're going to help you.

[He follows Leomon into the cliff, disappearing]

**EYE-CATCH: KOUJI + STRABIMON**

===================

###BLACK TAILMON'S POV###

[Black Tailmon slowly opens her eyes. She sees Tomoki, who notices]

TOMOKI: Ah, you're awake.

####END POV###

BLACK TAILMON: Huh? Where am I?

TOMOKI: (shrugs) Inside a mountain. Don't worry, you're safe.

BLACK TAILMON: What happened to the Leomon?

TOMOKI: Oh, he's around somewhere. (bemused) Said something about needing a lie down.

BLACK TAILMON: (wide eyed) What? I've got to get out of here!

[Black Tailmon tries to get up, but Tomoki pins her arms firmly to the bed, effectively immobilising her]

TOMOKI: Oh no you don't.

BLACK TAILMON: But he'll kill me.

TOMOKI: He's not going to lay a finger on you.

BLACK TAILMON: How do you know? (struggling) Let me go!

TOMOKI: (simply) Because I won't let him.

[Black Tailmon gasps in sudden realisation]

###FLASHBACK; BLACK TAILMON'S POV###

[Back at the pre-battle]

TOMOKI: Spirit Evolution! Aiiiyaaah!

[As Tailmon watches, Tomoki evolves (no sequence this time) into...]

BLIZZARMON: Blizzarmon!

###END FLASHBACK; END POV###

BLACK TAILMON: (stunned again) You...

[Tomoki puts his finger to her lips]

TOMOKI: (gently) Sssh. I'm not going to hurt you (points to a bowl of chicken soup on a table, Black Tailmon's gloves lying next to it) That's for you. Eat that, they try to get some sleep.

BLACK TAILMON: (sharply) Why should I?

TOMOKI: (amused; wagging is finger at her) Because I said so. Now don't be a naughty girl!

BLACK TAILMON: (blushing; contrite) I'm sorry. I'm...I'm just not used to being nursemaided.

TOMOKI: A little nursemaiding is good for you (kisses her cheek) Eat your soup.

BLACK TAILMON: (mock-sourly) Yes, Mama. (tries the soup and immediately perks up) Hey! This is good.

TOMOKI: Chicken soup, my Grandmother's recipe. Her cure-all every time I got ill. She swears she can use it to hold off the Grim Reaper himself.

BLACK TAILMON: Does it work?

TOMOKI: (shrugs) It has so far... (reaches the doorway; to himself) though I always thought Death was a she...

BLACK TAILMON: Tomoki-sama?

TOMOKI: (poking his head back through the doorway) Mmm?

BLACK TAILMON: Thank you...

TOMOKI: (smiles) My pleasure (he leaves)

*THE LAKE FROM LAST EPISODE*

[Izumi's clothes are scattered in a pile by the lakeside. The lady herself is in the lake, only her head above water, eyes closed, enjoying a long soak]

IZUMI: Ah, this is heavenly.

TAKUYA: (off-screen) You seem to be enjoying yourself.

[With a shriek, Izumi whirls round to see Takuya standing by the lake side, arms folded, a look of amusement on his face]

IZUMI: (mortified) Takuya! What are you doing? Get out of here!

TAKUYA: Why?

IZUMI: Because... because I'm naked, you idiot!

TAKUYA: So?

[off-screen, Takuya strips (to Izumi's total shock) and dives in with a splash. After a moment, he surfaces a little way away from her]

TAKUYA: There. Now we're both naked.

IZUMI: (incensed) Are you out of your mind?

TAKUYA: (chuckles) Right, like I'm going to let you have this entire lake to yourself.

IZUMI: Boys! (glaring) Give me one good reason why I shouldn't wring your neck?

JUNPEI: (off-screen; yelling) Look out below!

[Takuya looks up and yelps, ducking under the water just before Junpei belly flops into the pool, soaking Izumi]

IZUMI: (shrieking) Junpei!

[She sweeps her arm, splashing him back. He counter-retaliates, then Takuya surfaces, splashing them both. A water war insues]

*UNDER THE MOUNTAIN*

[Leomon is lying on a stone table (actually his bed), eyes closed. Tomoki walks in]

LEOMON: How is she?

TOMOKI: I think she'll be ok.

[Tomoki walks up to a large steaming pot on another table. He takes the ladle from the pot and pours himself some chicken soup into a suspiciously convenient mug [a green one with 'Worlds Greatest Lover' written on it in English (white lettering)]

LEOMON: (softly; musing) That's quite a heart you have, Tomoki-dono. With all my years, you shame me with your compassion. Maybe I just lost my perspective...

TOMOKI: (incredulous) 'Tomoki-dono'?

[Leomon opens his eyes to look at Tomoki]

LEOMON: I have been battling for many years. As Panjamon, even Ultimate Digimon have felt my wrath. Anybody who can best me in battle deserves the highest respect.

TOMOKI: (shrugs) I'm just the host body. It's Blizzarmon who deserves the credit for that.

[Leomon frowns, but says nothing. Tomoki drinks his soup. After a few moments, Leomon gets up]

LEOMON: Come. I would like to show you something...

*OUTSIDE THE MOUNTAIN*

[Neemon walks on screen. He looks at the mountain, frowning]

NEEMON: Tomoki-kun...

[Without further hesitation, Neemon walks into the mountain. hiding in the tree's, Asuramon watches with interest]

ASURAMON: Fascinating...

*LORD CHERUBIMON'S LAIR*

[Lord Cherubimon is staring into the pool. Asuramon is displayed within]

LORD CHERUBIMON: Fascinating indeed.

ASURAMON: Shall I attack?

LORD CHERUBIMON: Not quite yet. Soon.

===================

**EYE-CATCH: WOLFMON + GARMMON**

===================

*THE LAKE*

[The water war continues. Kouji, Kouchi and Bokomon walk on-screen]

KOUJI: You three look to be having fun.

JUNPEI: Tons. You want to join us?

TAKUYA: Yeah, just ditch your clothes and join in!

KOUJI: Thank's, we'll pass.

KOUCHI: You going to marry both of them, Izumi?

[Izumi turns bright red]

BOKOMON: (yelling) Hey, guys! I think you better see this!

[The Chosen in the lake swim for shore]

KOUJI: They look like footprints.

BOKOMON: Yeah. I think they're Tomoki's [turns to address Takuya as he gets out of the lake] And it looks like he was running fast.

[Izumi is the last to get out. Kouji catches sight of the naked Junpei and hurriedly looks away again]

KOUJI: ugh. There's an image to keep you up at night.

JUNPEI: (not amused) Very funny.

KOUCHI: (very amused; to Kouji) Now you've got to marry him.

TAKUYA: [Commander Mode] Cut the comedy, you guys. Izumi, Junpei, we'd better get dressed.

*INSIDE THE MOUNTAIN*

[Leomon and Tomoki are walking through a corridor. Tomoki is still drinking his soup]

TAKUYA: (voice-over) It looks like we've got some tracks to follow...

NEEMON: (off-screen; yelling) Tomoki-kun?

LEOMON: (turning) Intruder!

TOMOKI: Hold on. I know that voice. (yelling) Neemon-kun!

NEEMON: (off-screen; yelling) Tomoki-kun!

[After a moment, Neemon enters the corridor. Spotting Tomoki, he runs down to him]

NEEMON: [yelling] Tomoki-kun...

[Tomoki pulls Neemon into a (one-armed) hug]

TOMOKI: Neemon-kun. I thought Cyberdramon had got you. (to Leomon) It's ok, he's a friend of mine.

LEOMON: But how did he find you?

NEEMON: I was looking for Tomoki, so I came to where Tomoki was. Now I'm here.

TOMOKI: But how did you know I was here?

NEEMON: (shrugs) I just knew.

LEOMON: Neemon, this is important. Did anybody see you enter the mountain?

NEEMON: (frowning) Not that I noticed.

LEOMON: (sighs; half to himself) I suppose it does not matter. Nothing to do now but to deal with the consequences, such as they may be. (to his guests) Come, both of you.

[They come to a cave at the end of the corridor. At the other end of the cave is a very large pair of doors. Leomon puts his hands on the doors]

LEOMON: Welcome...

[The doors open at his touch]

LEOMON: ...to the Temple of The Gods!

*LORD CHERUBIMON'S LAIR*

LORD CHERUBIMON: At last! Asuramon...

ASURAMON: [image in pool] At once, Lord Cherubimon.

*TEMPLE OF THE GODS*

[Your basic temple. On the far wall is a large map of the Frontier Digital World, divided, like the one in adventures, into four quadrants. Tomoki and Neemon stare around, impressed]

NEEMON: Ooooh, pretty.

TOMOKI: [shudders, reminded of Cyberdramon] Leomon, what is this place?

LEOMON: The Temple of the Gods was built in Ancient times in honour of the Four Digital Gods who protect this world. Look...

[Leomon points to the map. In each quadrant are a picture representing one of the Gods and two crest symbols that Digimon Adventures fans with find extremely familiar. Other such symbols surround the picture]

LEOMON: [cont] ...each of the four Gods looks after one quarter of the digital world. These pictures should give you an idea what they looked like.

TOMOKI: What are the symbols next to the pictures?

LEOMON: Ah, yes. The Gods had an eye on the human world, even all that time ago. The symbols are called Crests. Each represents a trait which mankind can use to better his life and, through his actions, the lives of others.

NEEMON: Look, there are more! All around the picture!

LEOMON: Yes, dozens. But these eight are the main ones. Each God has two Crests he values above all others.

Quinglongmon, the Serpent Dragon, Guardian of East. His Crests are those of Courage and Friendship.

Zhuqaiomon, The Phoenix, Guardian Of The North, values the Crests Of Love, and Sincerity.

Xuanwumon, The Forest Turtle, Guardian Of the South. His Crests are those of Knowledge and Reliability.

Finally, Baihumon, The White Tiger, Guardian of the East. His Crests are potentially the most powerful of the eight. The Crest of Hope and the Crest of Light.

[Author's Note: Yeah, yeah, alright. The bird and the Turtle are the wrong way round (there's a link to a map in one of the reviews to prove it). Tough! I want them the way round I've put them! :P)

NEEMON: What do some of the other...

[Neemon is interrupted by a scream. As all three turn, Black Tailmon races into the Temple]

TOMOKI: Black Tailmon-chan, what is it?

BLACK TAILMON: (urgent) We've got company!

[Asuramon walks into the temple. Black Tailmon tries to hide behind Tomoki]

TOMOKI: Neemon, protect Black Tailmon.

NEEMON: (nervous) I'll do my best.

[Leomon and Tomoki storm up to confront Asuramon]

ASURAMON: Well, if it ain't the Hardy Boys...

LEOMON: Asuramon, leave this place immediately and never defile the sanctity of this temple again!

ASURAMON: And who's going to make me, kitty?

BLACK TAILMON: Lord Cherubimon sent him! He wants to take me back for execution!

[Tomoki starts flashing back on episode 25 and the last Asuramon he fought (and Blizzarmon beat the shit out of)]

TOMOKI: (internal monologue) but Cherubimon knows I beat the last the last Asuramon. This new one may not be so easy to defeat. (out-loud; to Asuramon) If you want her, go through us!

ASURAMON: That suits me fine...

TOMOKI: (casually) Tag Team?

LEOMON: Why not?

###EVOLUTION SEQUENCE- BLIZZARMON###

TOMOKI: Spirit Evolution! Aiiiyaaah!

BLIZZARMON: Blizzarmon!

###END EVOLUTION SEQUENCE####

LEOMON: Leomon, Mode Change to...

PANJAMON: Panjamon!

BLIZZARMON: Now, we'll stop you.

ASURAMON: (fighting stance) Bring it.

BLIZZARMON: (internal monologue) Bad sign. Oh well, on with the show.

**EYE-CATCH: BEOWULFMON + ANCIENT GARURUMON**

===================

*THE TEMPLE OF THE GODS*

[Panjamon is first to attack, racing forward and punching Asuramon in the chest. Though the blow staggers Asuramon, Panjamon howls in pain, clutching his now steaming hand]

BLIZZARMON: Panjamon! (Steps forward) Avalanche Step!

[Asuramon dodges the resulting razor wave. It hits one of the doors, obliterating it]

BLIZZARMON: (wincing) Ooops. (to Panjamon) Sorry...

ASURAMON: Wave of Asura!

[New Attack. Asuramon slashes his arm, creating a [flaming] razor wave of his own that rips through Blizzarmon, dropping him to the floor in a heap]

BLACK TAILMON: Tomoki-sama!

ASURAMON: When it's Fire against Ice, Fire always wins.

PANJAMON: We'll see...

ASURAMON: Asura God Fist!

[Asuramon shoots several hand-blasts, too fast and too many for Panjamon to dodge. Panjamon roars in extreme pain]

BLIZZARMON: (getting up very slowly) No...

ASURAMON: Asura God Smash!

[Asuramon lances forward and unleashes a massive flaming uppercut that sends Panjamon sailing across the temple to crash-land just in front of the World Map. He glows yellow and reverts all the way back to his Child form of Elecmon, quite unconscious]

BLACK TAILMON: No...

NEEMON: They're getting slaughtered...

[With an effort, Blizzarmon stands. Now he's really pissed off]

BLIZZARMON: Avalanche Roll!

[New Attack. Blizzarmon leaps high, rolls into a ball, then slams Asuramon into the other door, trashing that as well. Asuramon howls. As Asuramon staggers forward, Blizzarmon jumps over him. As Asuramon turns round, Blizzarmon kicks him in the jaw on the way down. Asuramon staggers back again.

BLIZZARMON: Gletscher Torpedo!

[Blizzarmon lands and his dreadlocks lash out, grabbing Asuramon by his headgear]

BLIZZARMON: Avalanche Step!

ASURAMON: Wave of Asura!

[Asuramon slashes twice, forming two flame razor waves into an 'X' shape. The 'X' rips through Blizzarmon. He collapses, reverting to Tomoki. Asuramon turns, walking to wards Black Tailmon and Neemon]

ASURAMON: Now for you, traitor...

BLACK TAILMON: I'm no traitor. I was never on his side to begin with. Not willingly.

ASURAMON: (dismissive) Details...

[Neemon stands in front of Black Tailmon, in a vain attempt to protect her. Tomoki staggers to his knees, seeing them]

TOMOKI: Neemon. Black Tailmon...

[The next thing anyone knows (including us), Asuramon is being slammed into the World Map wall by Chakmon. Chakmon screams in pain, steam pouring off his arm in clouds. On the Wall itself, the Crests of Courage and Light glow briefly, as does another, currently unnamed one]

ASURAMON: Wave of Asura!

[He slashes once. Chakmon collapses from the hit, reverting to Tomoki again. And still, Tomoki staggers to his feet]

ASURAMON: Oh, for crying out loud...

TOMOKI: I won't let you hurt them.

ASURAMON: (shrugs) Fuck it, kid. I'll just kill you first. Slowly.

BLACK TAILMON: No...

[Ignoring her, Asuramon advances on Tomoki]

BLACK TAILMON: (internal monologue) Tomoki-sama, you've shown me more kindness than I ever deserve. I owe you my life. I hope you will see this as a payment in kind, and not a betrayal. (a tear runs down her face. Behind her, the Crest of Love starts to shine)

*THE FOREST*

[Night has fallen. The Chosen are still following the tracks]

KOUCHI: How much further?

[Suddenly Izumi's D-Scanner starts to shriek, vomiting light. She looks at it, amazed]

IZUMI: (in Italian) What's happening?

[With a sound like a large laser cannon firing, the Spirit's of Water rip from Izumi's Digivice and lance towards the temple]

JUNPEI: (stunned; In English) Shit...

TAKUYA: Follow those Spirits!

###EVOLUTION SEQUENCE###

MUSIC: 'Spirit Evolution'

[All five H-Spirits are shown in outline. We focus on the H-Spirit of Light and zoom in. Kouji holds up his Digivice. We Switch to Junpei, who twirls his hand, calling the single code ring. Switch to Izumi, who does the arm motions then slashes her code ring with her Digivice]

ALL FIVE: (voices only; unison) Spirit Evolution!

[Switch To Kouchi, the code ring spiralling around him and the Spirit of Darkness H appearing behind him. Switch to Takuya, as his armour forms on him in the usual manner. Everyone takes their turn, posing and calling out their names]

Agnimon: Agnimon!

Wolfmon: Wolfmon!

Fairymon: Fairymon!

Blitzmon: Blitzmon!

Duskmon: Duskmon!

[Author's Note: Kouchi doesn't appear have access to Duskmon and Velgmon in the series after joining the other's. However, I know sod all about Löwemon. So, in this, Kouchi still has both his H and B Spirits [and no L and K Spirits]].

###END EVOLUTION SEQUENCE####

*TEMPLE OF THE GODS*

ASURAMON: It's over, kid.

BLACK TAILMON: (off-screen) You're right, Asuramon.

ASURAMON: Huh?

BLACK TAILMON: (her eyes shining) Over for you!

[Drum Roll. The Spirits lance into the Temple and strike Black Tailmon, creating an energy bubble around her. Every single Crest on the World Map Wall lights up in response]

###EVOLUTION SEQUENCE###

BLACK TAILMON: Spirit Evolution! Reee-aaaah!

CALAMARAMON: Calamaramon!

###END EVOLUTION SEQUENCE####

NEEMON: Yikes! Can it really be her?

ELECMON: (still only half-conscious) Who is she?

NEEMON: (frowns) I'm not sure.

TOMOKI: (tiredly) Well, what do you know? (he collapses and, this time, he doesn't get up)

CALAMARAMON: Tomoki-sama! (turns on Asuramon, growling)

ASURAMON: Uh-oh...

CALAMARAMON: (screaming) Titanic Charge!

[For once, the move goes off perfectly, striking Asuramon repeatedly before knocking him across the temple floor. This time, Asuramon has real trouble getting up, though he still does]

ASURAMON: Asura God Fist! (Several hand-blasts shoot out and strike Calamaramon, but does no appreciable damage) What?

CALAMARAMON: When it's Fire against Water, Fire is extinguished.

ASURAMON: And Water evaporates into Steam.

CALAMARAMON: True. But Steam becomes Water again when the rain comes. (eyes narrowing) You hurt my friend, Asuramon, the boy to whom I owe my life. And for that, you're going to pay.

ASURAMON: Come and get me!

[Calamaramon just smirks. Suddenly a geyser of Water erupts from the ground, enveloping Asuramon and trapping him. Asuramon gargles, trying desperately to breathe]

CALAMARAMON: Happy Smile!

[Author's Note: Happy Smile is actually one of Marine Angemon's attacks, but it fits the situation. So Calamaramon can do it too now.]

[Asuramon gurgles drowns and deletes. Calamaramon opens her mouth and eats his code. Then she reverts back to the familiar form of Ranamon]

NEEMON: Ouch.

ELECMON: Yeah. Remind me to never get on her bad side...

[Ranamon smiles faintly]

[The other Chosen run in to see Ranamon kneeling down by an all-too still Tomoki]

AGNIMON: Oh no...

RANAMON: [small voice] Tomoki-sama?

###TO BE CONTINUED###

NARRATOR: Is this the end of Himi Tomoki? Are the Chosen down to five members again? How did Neemon find him anyway? And has Ranamon changed sides for good? Find out in Part three, "Ambush In the Forest! Izumi's Not Well!"
