Chapter 5

"Vejita? Trunks-kun? Chibi Usa-chan?"

"Otousan? Kaasan? Is anyone here?"

"Doctor Breifs-san? Vejita-san?"

"Hellooooo?"

Their voices echoed throughout the building, yet no one seemed to answer. They had checked everywhere they could think of where someone would be occupying a room. The labortory, the gravity room, the bedrooms, and even the gardens. Finally, the group met up in the kitchen, all with bad news. No one could locate any of the residents anywhere.

This started to get to Usagi. "What if they were captured? Or worse? But Vejita is one of the strongest people on Earth! Surely he could protect them, couldn't he? Unless the enemy he was facing was too strong?" Her voice started to strain as tears threatened to break from thoughts of her family in danger.

"Ano...", began Ami, " Usagi-chan, there hasn't been any sign of struggle-"

"With the exception of pancake mix on the walls...", interrupted Bulma, who was staring at the aforementioned walls with a sigh.

Ami giggled and sweatdropped in response. "H-hai Bulma-san." She then turned back to Usagi with a seriousness, "Demo nothing that would show any evidence that they were in a fight."

"Demo if thats the case, then where are they?" asked Mina.

Before they could ponder, however, two shadows jumped from behind Usagi and tackled her to the ground. This, along with bumping her head on the floor, caused her to shriek to sonic capacities. "MAMAAA!!!", the two children cried happily as they snuggled next to her like two grinning puppies seeking warmth.

"Scared ya, didn't we Mama?" chuckled Trunks.

Usagi was in a state of shock for a few seconds then hugged her offspring tightly and trying to hide a few soft sobs. "Hai Trunks-kun, you did, you did. More than you know." She looked at the two of them. "Where's everyone else?"

"Gomen Usagi-chan," said the always cheerful Ms. Briefs who was soon followed by her husband, "demo the children wanted to suprise you."

Usagi looked behind them for some hope of seeing her Saiya-jin husband. "A-ano...where is Vejita?"

Dr. Briefs looked up for a moment and rubbed is chin in thought, "Well, last I saw him, he was trying to chase Trunks and Chibi Usa, demo I haven't seen him for a while now. He seems to have left without a word."

"Ano..ano do you know where he happend to go to? Did he happen to mention some place." iquired Usagi.

"Iie, gomen demo I'm afraid not.", he said with a sad tone. Usagi looked down trying desperately to call out to him. She had been doing so ever since she had the bad feeling at the mall, but was unsuccessfull in gaining a response.

"Minna-san!" She blinked and looked up to the ceiling at the child-like voice that seemed to be radiating from it.

"Dende-sama?"

"Hai! Ano, we are in need of your help. Piccolo has been captured and I fear he wasn't the only one."

"Nani?!" the sailor senshi said in unison.

"Captured?" asked Luna. "What do you mean?"

"I will have to explain later on demo..." he trailed off for the sake of Chi Chi. He could sense her ki in the room as well, and knew she would not take the next bit of news well at all.

"Demo...?" inquired Rei who, like the others, wanted to know what else he had to say.

Dende sighed and continued, "I....I have tried to get in contact with Gohan." Chi Chi eyes flew open and her hands slowly reached for her mouth as if to hold back a scream. "Demo ano...I can't locate him anywhere. I fear he may have been taken too."

Usagi joined Chi Chi in the sense of horror and fear. "Vejita...", as all she could say.

"Nani? Y-you mean...?"

"Hai," answered Ami who walked to Usagi and placed her hand on her shoulder. "We haven't been able to find Vejita either. It's quite possible he..." She could not continue. For her friend, she just did not have the ability to. In a sense, she didn't need to.

Dende understood all too well. He nodded with clentched fists and continued, "I see. Okay then, if it's alright, I think it would be best if we all met up here on the look out. I have already contacted the other Z senshi and they agreed to pick up the Outer Senshi. They are on their way here right now."

Bulma nodded, "Okay, we'll be there in a little while Dende-kun. See you soon."

"Hai," was his last word before his voice faded out.

Rei approached her friend with sympathy, "Usagi-chan?"

She smiled back at the princess of Mars, "I'll be alright Rei-chan, arigatou." She then picked up her children and headed for their bedroom to gather some things and laughed. "Besides, it might just be a mistake ne? He could be out training or something ne? Ha ha ha! I'll get him for making me worry like this!", she lied to herself. And she knew it, but it was all she could do. She refused to let go of her last shred of hope that he might still be alive. Somewhere....

***Elsewhere***

"Well this is just perfect."

"Shut up Namek."

"WHAT DID YOU SAY!?!"

"YOU HEARD ME!!"

And so the arguement went on, all the while their words overpowering a sad young boys voice, "Otousan..."
