Dragon Ball/Z/GT Fan Fiction / Slayers Fan Fiction / Hunter X Hunter Fan Fiction ❯ Demona's Tale ❯ Chapter 1 ( Chapter 1 )
[ Y - Young Adult: Not suitable for readers under 16 ]
Author's Notes: Well, I've been working on this project in secret for quite a while. Her Choice was my practice fic, just to try some stuff, and basically get myself back into writing. This is because I couldn't get my mind off of Songwind's Bishounen and Bishoujo fic.
This fic will have DARK and ADULT themes, including kidnapping, child abuse, rape, death, and general misery. It will also have some extremely light and funny moments. In general, it will go all over the place. You have been warned.
And, a HUGE thank you to Songwind for giving me such great inspiration! Go read her stories now!
BTW, I am in need of a beta reader. Someone REALLY good at grammar, spelling, and detecting plot holes. (Especially plot holes. There's like a plot bunny plague in my general area…)
This takes place quite a while after Songwind's Bishounen and Bishoujo fic, and around the time of Two Paths, One Choice. Around 3 years after the first story.
Finally, please review. I write and post to get better at writing. Constructive criticism is always welcome.
Demona's Tale
Chapter 1
The wind tenderly brushed past the ruby-haired girl, standing near the edge of the cliff overlooking the sea. She gazed out over the rising and falling of waves far below her, the restless waters seeking to reach ever higher. The trees behind her sang softly with the cool ocean breeze.
“Where the hell am I?!” She cried out, causing a flock of birds to fly desperately from the forest behind her.
“Calm down girl, geez,” a voice groaned emerging from the shadows.
“Who are you? If you kidnapped me…” she warned, until she got a good look dark the man in front of her.
“Dark Schneider?” she whispered. She bit her bottom lip and blinked a few times in shock. “Someone definitely slipped something into my coffee…”
“Fraid not, my dear. I'll take you to a town, you'll get the story there,” he smirked. “But I can think of other things we could do if you'd prefer…”
She glared at him dangerously as he sauntered up to her. He ignored the perilous look in her eyes, and wrapped his arm around her, intending to pull her against him. He smiled victoriously as he felt her hand grasp his arm.
He was on the ground before he knew he'd been thrown.
“I had to end up lost with an ecchi the one day a year I wear something not conducive to ass kicking…” she mumbled under her breath.
Indeed, she was wearing a long black dress with a slit in the front up to mid-thigh. She wore knee-high black leather high-heeled boots, boosting her to a height of 5'9. The neckline was an extremely low cut v-neck. The long bell sleeves had two large slits on each arm. Around her neck was a red jeweled cross hanging from a black lace choker. Her hair was half up in two braids, one on either side of her head. The rest of her wavy red locks falling free down her back. Petite red and black flowers were woven into her braids.
“You're pretty strong for a human, girl,” he coughed as the wind came back to him. He heaved himself off the ground, smirking once again.
“I try,” she deadpanned. “Now, either you can help me and retain all body parts, or I can slowly dismantle you, and figure things out myself. Your choice.”
The platinum haired bishounen blinked at the strange girl for a moment before grinning roguishly. “I like a challenge. I'll help, for now…”
The redhead rolled her eyes, putting her hand on her hip. She met his eyes and the corner of her lip curved slightly as she regarded the bishounen. “My dear Dark Schneider, I'm not a challenge, I'm an impossibility.”
“And does this impossibility have a name?” He purred standing just close enough to feel her warmth, but far enough to avoid an attack.
She brushed back her long crimson locks and glanced over her shoulder at him. Her dark smile was enough to make even him shudder.
“Call me Demona.”
A few hours, and bishounen tosses later, Dark Schneider managed to get the girl to the outskirts of a trainer city.
“Well, this is where I leave you. Perhaps I could get a reward for my escort?” he purred, reaching for her again.
She glared at him hard, her eyes darkening. He simply grinned, holding his hands up innocently. His devious eyes met her menacing ones for a moment, before he reached out and snatched her chin, tilting her face up a bit.
“You know, you have the strangest eyes I've ever seen, for a bish or a human,” he commented thoughtfully, lifting her chin and gazing at her eyes. Her eyes had a ring of vivid gold in the center, and a shadowy ruby ring surrounding the gold.
Said eyes were trying to combust the ecchi bishounen studying them. “They're eyes. And if you're not careful, I might just decide to take yours.”
“You're a firey one. I like that,” his eyes darkened as he licked his lips.
“And you're a pervert, and I hate that,” Demona replied turning around to face the city. Before she could take even one step, she found herself facing the bishounen again. In the breath of a second he held her pressed against him, kissing her fervently. She was frozen for only a moment, as the passionate sensation overwhelmed her.
She began to lift her arm to attack, her defenses finally kicking in, but the bishounen was already out of her reach.
“You do realize, I will come back to beat the hell out of you for that,” She said in a dangerously quiet voice.
“Oh, I'm counting on it,” he said seductively, before disappearing into the trees.
Sighing in annoyance, the girl marched towards the city, intent on finding out what had left her in a world where perverted bishounen were on the loose.
Demona rolled her eyes at the woman in front of her. Her right eye was starting to twitch slightly, as she felt the few threads of patience she had left snap.
“I don't know what half-bishi even means. I was checking my e-mail before I was going to escort a bunch of runts Trick-or-Treating, and all of a sudden I wake up with Dark Schneider trying to hit on me. What the hell is going on?” she demanded, slamming her hands on the blond woman's desk.
“Oh my! Why didn't you say you were a trainer? There's a class about to begin down that hallway. It's the 7th door on the left,” she said, smiling brightly. She didn't even seem to notice the dark glare trying to incinerate her on the spot.
“I give up!” Demona cried out, throwing her arms in the air and stomping down the hallway. She pushed open the classroom door, and looked around.
A tall woman stood at the front of the classroom, smiling kindly at the other newbie trainers in the room.
“Oh my, you're just in time, have a seat dear,” she said gently.
Demona sighed and sank down in the nearest chair. She counted backwards from ten, and then tried to listen to the woman in the front of the room.
“It is extremely important you never capture a chibi without a parent or guardian's consent. It's a horrible crime in this world, and will be punished accordingly. Also, remember that your bishounen cannot be further then 3 miles from you for more then 48 hours or they will go mad and die,” She paused looking around the room.
Demona blinked, trying to process what she was hearing. She continued to listen to the woman talk about the rules of the “bishi world.”
`I'd say this was a dream, but I sure as hell have never had a dream like this,' she thought to herself.
“Alright then, I'll take you to the hall where the bishis are waiting. Talk to them, and come to an agreement with a bishi and then meet at the door after half an hour. You'll then get your bishi balls and dexes. Ready everyone?” she smiled brightly.
All the others in the room nodded excitedly, except for Demona who gave a half-hearted nod. She shook her head as she followed the teacher out of the room. She tried to ignore the over-zealous fan-girls giggling. She noticed a quiet boy lagging a bit behind her and slowed down.
“You look sane. Name?” Demona stated with a distant tone. She almost laughed as she watched him blush and stammer.
“I-I'm Jack…” he paused hesitantly. “And you?”
“Demona. Don't be afraid kid, I don't bite. Much,” she grinned wickedly. She finally laughed as she saw the horrified look on Jack's face.
“I'm just teasing. You need to lighten up kid,” she clasped a hand on his shoulder.
“I'm sorry, this is just a lot to take in. I'm a little frightened of being on my own,” he admitted quietly. “W-would you like to travel with me for a while after we get our stuff?”
Demona saw the boy trembling and mentally sighed. He was terrified of asking, but for him to ask her of all people, he had to be desperate.
“Sure, kid. But I'm warning ya now, I have to track down a Dark Schneider who's ass is begging for kicking,” she said, her eyes darkening.
“Who's that?” he asked, feeling relieved.
“An over-sexed pervert who thought he could kiss me and get away with it. He's gonna be hurting when I'm done with him,” she muttered darkly.
Jack laughed softly. “Poor bishounen! I would hate to have you angry at me. You'd probably mop the floor with me…”
“Nah, I don't touch people that much weaker then me, no offense,” she added quickly.
“None taken. I've always been pretty weak,” he said quietly. “But, thanks for letting me come with you. I'll try not to be a burden.”
“Don't worry, kid. You seem like a nice guy, and I don't mind watching out for ya,” she grinned and rubbed his head a bit. He laughed softly, as the group came to a halt in front of two large oak doors.
“Alright everyone, you've got half an hour to find a bishi, then you'll get your bishi gear,” the woman announced. She opened the doors, and the otaku's charged in, with Demona and Jack walking in calmly.
Jack walked a bit slower, trying to shield himself behind Demona. She rolled her eyes and let him stay behind her. Her eyes then turned to scan the room for a bishi she could get along with.
“Ya know, kid, you're never gonna get a bishi hiding behind me…” Demona began. However, before she could encourage the boy to actually talk to someone a blur dashed behind her.
“Um, hey, mind if I share this hiding place with ya?” a rather winded Minako asked.
“I-I don't, but you have to ask her…” he said quietly.
Demona rolled her eyes, and crossed her arms over her chest.
“Wimps. Fine, hide behind me,” she grumbled and continued looking around.
Suddenly an angry Usagi bishoujo appeared, demanding Minako come out and take her punishment. Demona glared lightly at the girl, who paled, and decided her revenge could wait.
“Not a bad glare, if I do say so myself,” a rather cheerful voice said from her side.
“Why thank you. I've had a lot of practice,” she grinned wryly, tossing her head in the direction of the two cowering behind her.
The voice laughed, rather amused.
“You're not like other fangirls. You hardly seem affected at all. And you're so angry, something happen?” Xellos asked, floating in front of the redhead.
“I don't believe in glomping. It's happened to me one too many times. Thus the practice with the glare. And I'm angry cause I've got a Dark Schneider who's waiting out in the woods for a good ass kicking,” she almost growled as she said his name.
Xellos laughed rather amused.
“You're just like a darker, moodier Lina,” he said thoughtfully, then grinned cheerfully. “Just with a bigger rack.”
“If you even think of touching me, you're going on number 2 of my hit list. I have no patience for perverts,” Demona warned with a withering glare at the mazoku.
“Oh no, it was merely an observation. Perhaps you wouldn't mind another tagging along,” he asked, grinning at the two figures chatting quietly, still hiding behind Demona.
“What the hell. It's not like I'm gonna be able to talk to anyone else, watching out for these two. They need to learn how to kick some ass, it's good for the body and soul,” she said sagely.
Xellos opened one eye slightly, a dark smile on his face. “I do believe we will get along quite well, my dear.”
“Demona… If you got a bish, maybe we could to back over by the door?” Jack asked quietly. He looked down at the ground, his hands fidgeting uncomfortably.
“Sure kid, sounds good. Besides, I know I saw at least two Mirokus in here. I don't think anyone'll be happy if I'm forced to harm them…” she shrugged, rubbing the boy's head as she started walking to the door.
They arrived just as the instructor began to call all the others to the door. Everyone had a bishi at their side, though some seemed attached to their bishis side. Demona rolled her eyes in annoyance.
“Talk about lack of self control…” she muttered.
“Nothing wrong with letting go every now and then,” Xellos added, his usual grin on his face.
“That's what fighting and arguing is for,” she replied simply, as she stood in line, waiting to get blood taken and receive her equipment. “Letting out aggression into physical violence is an amazing therapy. It keeps me surprisingly calm.”
Xellos laughed. “So do you have a weapon of choice, or do you not like weapons?”
“I normally prefer without a weapon, but I'm good with a sword, bow, and whip,” she said casually.
Xellos sniggered at the last weapon. Demona glared at him half-heartedly. “Into SM much, Xellos-chan?”
“My dear, I'm a Mazoku. I LIVE for such things. I love it even more when I see someone else on the receiving end,” he winked at her, his other demonic eye gleaming.
“At least one of us has a dirty mind right now. Let's hope it's just me…” she muttered under her breath.
Xellos heard and grinned wider, but refrained from comment. Finally, they stood before a man in a white lab coat. He took her arm, and stuck her with the needle. Demona didn't even flinch as she watched the ruby liquid pour from her arm into the vial.
“Not bothered by needles or blood, huh? We don't get much of that around here,” the guy said cheerily.
“Yeah, well, I've lost a lot more blood then that before,” Demona muttered. The guy raised his eyebrow but didn't comment as he put the vial of blood into a machine.
“Just go through those doors, and you'll get your stuff. Don't forget to head to the shops. They give newbies some free stuff to get you started,” he said, already beckoning for Jack to step forward.
Demona looked over at Xellos who simply smiled his usual cheerful smile.
“Ya know, for someone as evil as I know you are, you're disturbingly happy…” she said, pushing the door open.
“Why thank you! That's so nice of you, my dear trainer,” he said smoothly. His happy grin widened a bit.
“Eh, call me Demona. Hearing trainer makes me think of those damn lion tamers at circuses…” She shook her head to remove the disturbing image of her in a bright costume cracking a whip to get Xellos to jump through a hoop.
Xellos laughed at her disturbed, yet amused grin. He watched as his trainer put on the belt filled with bishi balls.
“Feels nice. So, I just take a ball and tap Xellos with it?” she asked, already grabbing a ball.
“That's it, Miss,” the girl said slightly intimidated by the taller black-clad girl.
“Ready, Xellos-chan?” she asked, smirking.
“Of course, Demona-chan,” he replied with the same smirk. Demona tapped his head with ball, and he instantly disappeared.
“Come out, Xellos,” the red-head called. In a flash of red light, the mazoku appeared.
“Hmm, not bad. They're certainly making those bishi balls better. Just needs a Mazoku's touch,” he said happily.
Suddenly the dex came to life.
“Trainer Name?”
“Demona.”
“Age?”
“19.”
“Trainer Demona, age 19?”
“Yes,” Demona fought the urge to sigh at the piece of technology in her hands.
“First bishounen Xellos, stage Sama. Nickname?”
“Xellos-chan.”
The dex beeped then fell silent.
“Let's wait outside for Jack,” Demona said, already heading for the door.
“So who is he? He's constantly scared outta his mind,” Xellos asked.
“Dunno. He was shaking after class as he asked to travel with me. I guess I felt bad for the poor kid. Probably wouldn't survive a day in the woods without some help,” She shrugged.
“You have a point there. Oh well, I won't turn down a free meal,” he grinned wickedly at the thought.
“So you're Sama? That's cool,” Demona stated, slightly disturbed at his grin.
“Of course. Xellos's aren't very people friendly in San. I'm sure you're aware of our hatred of ryuuzoku?” he almost shuddered as he ground out the name of his hated enemy.
“Yeah, didn't you kill like 1000 dragons just by lifting your finger?” Demona raised an eyebrow as she said that.
“That's in the series. Not enough dragons here to do that… Though it would be fun,” his grin turned evil again.
“I gotta learn that grin. You can even affect me with it. And that's saying something,” she muttered.
“I'd be happy to help, Demona-chan,” he purred. He cracked an eye open as he smiled at her.
“Uh… Demona? I'm done…” Jack said softly. Minako grinned happily at his side, clinging to his arm.
“Alright. Let's go to a shop, get our free stuff, and get a hotel for the night. We'll set out tomorrow, alright kid?” Demona asked, smiling kindly at him.
“Uh, yeah. Thanks again,” he said softly.
“Dun worry about it,” she rubbed his head, and laughed as he tried to fight her off.
“Ug… Easy on the happiness…” Xellos groaned.
“Alright, alright. Hmm… Ah, arrogant, over-sexed, perverted bishounen in needing of a beating,” Demona told herself, and let her anger back to the front of her mind.
“Much better. Thank you, Demona-chan,” He said smiling happily again.
“Don't thank me, thank the perverted bishounen who I'm gonna track and beat to a bloody pulp…” she growled.
“Jack-san, she's scary!” Minako said as she saw the dark scowl on her face, as Demona began walking out of the building.
“Yeah, but she is nice deep down. Besides, it's better to be on her good side, ne?” Jack responded quietly. The blond nodded, still looking quite frightened.
“Ne, Demona, why are you wearing that dress?” Jack asked quietly.
Demona laughed softly. “Halloween, remember? I was supposed to escort a bunch of kids around town. It's community service. I may be a bad-ass, but I try to add a little good in there.”
“So what are you? A witch?” Minako asked.
“A succubus?” Xellos asked, grinning even more cheerfully.
“What's a succubus?” Jack and Minako asked together.
Demona slapped a hand over Xellos's mouth, before he could say a word. “Nothing, kid. And no, not a succubus. I have no idea. My mom wore this dress every Halloween. She passed it on to me last year. I suppose it's a witch,” she shrugged.
“Your mom used to wear that dress?” Jack asked surprised.
“Yeah, she's always been in great shape. She's really pretty for her age. I take after her almost exclusively. I'm a bit more… violent, but she used to race cars and go kayaking and stuff. She's a real tough tomboy, while still looking like a beautiful angel while doing it,” Demona said with an almost wistful tone.
“You miss her, huh?” Jack asked. “I miss my older sisters.”
“Yeah, my mom's awesome. But if she ever found out I left here for her, she'd kick my ass. My happiness comes first, and I kinda like it here. I don't need a job or a husband to get by here,” Demona shrugged.
“That's a good point. Life seems nicer here,” Jack agreed.
“Speaking of nice, let's get that free stuff. I like free as much as I like ass kicking,” she grinned, pulling them towards a store.
“So much like Lina…” Xellos said, his grin fading slightly, before following the small group inside.
*****
Bishounen and Bishoujo in this chapter-
Dark Schneider- Tall, white hair, muscular, and very handsome. Is also, in my opinion, the most perverted (and over-sexed) bishounen out there. Extremely arrogant, and prone to massive destruction. From the anime and manga Bastard!
Minako- The final Sailor Senshi to join the team, but was the first Senshi to be discovered. She's very ditzy, but also a good leader. She has long blond hair, with a red ribbon in it. She is also rather boy crazy. She has some powerful magic, but is decent at martial arts. From Bishoujo Senshi Sailor Moon. (Pretty Soldier Sailor Moon)
Xellos- A Mazoku. Shoulder length purple hair, eyes almost always closed, and is often smiling. He feeds off of negative emotions, and loves to cause chaos. In the series, he slayed an entire army of dragons with a mere finger. Mazoku are completely loyal to their masters. (Thus, he would be extremely loyal as a bishounen, if they could be caught…) Xellos is often mischievous more then malicious, but has been known to enjoy pain at times (his own and that of others). Has extremely powerful magic, and is able to teleport with ease. His true form is in the astral plane. From Slayers series.
