A Dark Memory

Chapter 1: Going to the Tournament

"Goku hurry up or you'll be late for the tournament," Chi-Chi yelled from the kitchen as she made breakfast.

"Oh man I didn't know it was this late," Goku replied and hurried out of bed.

"Gohan hurry get in the tub," Chi-Chi yelled.

"I can't," Gohan replied, "Goten is using it."

"Goten hurry up your father and Gohan have to get in too," Chi-Chi yelled outside.

"All right mom," Goten replied and climbed out of the barrel they used for a tub.

"Ok my turn," Gohan said and jumped in the tub.

"Hurry up Gohan oh and don't forget to get those hard to reach places," Goku said with a laugh.

"Yeah sure dad I know," Gohan replied a little bit annoyed.

"Hurry up we should of left 20 minutes ago," Chi-Chi hollered out the window.

"I'm ready mom," Goten said.

"Not yet your not eat your breakfast."

"Oh ok," Goten said and began to eat.

"Gohan move it," Chi-Chi yelled, "Get your nude little booty outta there so your father can get in!"

"Ok, ok geez I'm trying," Gohan replied and jumped out of the tub.

"Thanks Gohan," Goku said and jumped in.

"Hurry up Gohan get dressed and eat," Chi-Chi said.

"Ok mom," Gohan said and ran to his room to change.

"This is going to be so much fun," Goten said, "I'll do my best to win you the prize money mom."

"Thank you sweetie but the World Martial Arts Tournament isn't any easy thing to win just do your best ok," Chi-Chi said.

"Ok and if I don't win I bet Gohan or dad will win right?"

"Yeah I'm sure they will," Chi-Chi replied.

"When can we go?" Goten asked as he stuffed another egg in his mouth.

"As soon as your father and Gohan are ready."

"Ok I'll help Gohan get ready," Goten said and ran to the bedroom.

"Goku come on breakfast it getting cold," Chi-Chi yelled.

"Breakfast why didn't you say so," Goku said and jumped out of the tub and put his clothes on and ran into the kitchen.

"Wow," Chi-Chi said, "10 seconds best time yet."

"Well yeah I am fast when there's food involved," Goku said happily and began to eat.

"Oh Goku," Chi-Chi said with a sigh.

"Hey Gohan hurry up," Goten said as he walked into the room.

"I'm trying Goten," Gohan said as he struggled to get his Saiyaman boot on.

"Wow are you going to wear that during the tournament?" Goten asked.

"Well yeah what do you think I'm putting it on for," Gohan asked a little annoyed because he couldn't get his boot on.

"Well you better hurry cause mom is getting mad," Goten said with a little laugh because Gohan couldn't get his boot on.

"I got it!" Gohan said finally getting his boot on but the force of trying to shove his foot in caused him to lose his balance and fall backwards on his butt.

"You know you're really fun to watch," Goten said laughing with his hands folded behind his head.

"Oh shut up," Gohan said with a laugh as he got up off the floor.

"Come on we have to go!" Chi-Chi yelled from the kitchen.

"Ok Mom," they both replied and walked back to the kitchen.

"Come on guys let's go before your mother blows a blood vessel," Goku said and they all walked out to the car.

"Hurry get in we'll be late," Chi-Chi barked at them as she got in the passenger seat.

"Ok," Goten said as he and Gohan got in the back while Goku got in the drivers seat.

"Wait Mom I thought you were driving," Gohan said.

"No your father is," Chi-Chi replied as Goku started the car.

"Goten." Gohan whispered, "Buckle up."

"No kidding," Goten whispered back.

"Goku watch the road!" Chi-Chi yelled as Goku pulled out right in front of an 18-wheeler.

"I am, I am!" Goku yelled as he spun the wheel it avoid the truck.

"Gohan," Goten said as Goku got the car back on the road.

"Yes?" Gohan asked.

"I'm scared."

"Me to this is even scarier than when Videl has her monthly problem," Gohan replied as he clung to his seat.

"See I told you I could drive Chi-Chi," Goku said happy with himself.

"Yes well it would help if you were going the right way," Chi-Chi replied beginning to see letting Goku drive was a big mistake.

"Well at least I'm on the right side of the road this time," Goku replied.

"Yes but your going the wrong way down it turn around but stay on this side."

"Oh ok I get it," Goku said and began to turn causing them all to fall to one side of the car.

"Gohan," Goten said in a quiet concerned voice.

"Yeah," Gohan replied.

"My seat belt just broke."

"Well just hold it together," Gohan replied trying to hold himself in so he didn't fall over on his brother.

"I'm gonna die," Goten said to himself as he was flung every which way still trying to hold his seat belt together.

"Goku!" Chi-Chi yelled as she held on to her seat for dear life.

"Gohan," Goten said again.

"Yes, Goten what is it?" Gohan asked a little annoyed because Goten was saying so much when he was trying to do other things.

"I have to pee," Goten replied with a help me I gonna lose it look on his face.

"Just hold it," Gohan said.

"I can't its going to come out especially if I have to hold my seat belt like this."

"Goten," Gohan said as he held on. "Mom Goten has to pee," Gohan said aloud.

"Oh no please tell me your not serious," Chi-Chi replied knowing if what he was saying was true Goku would have to pull over and if he did they would die.

"I have to go bad Mom," Goten said squeezing his legs together.

"Hold it Goten please," Chi-Chi begged.

"I can't," Goten said.

"I can't believe I'm saying this, Goku pull over Goten has to go."

"Oh ok well ummm…" Goku said looking at all the gears.

"I'm saying a quick prayer, God please don't let us die," Gohan began.

"How do I do this again?" Goku asked.

"Oh God," Chi-Chi said.

"Wait your turn mom Gohan is praying first," Goten said still squeezing his legs.

"Goku please don't kill us," Chi-Chi said.

"I wont do worry," Goku said turning the wheel every which way.

"Dad hurry please I gotta go bad," Goten said.

"Don't worry Goten I can do this," Goku replied as he saw a bridge coming up.

"Oh no please," Gohan said as he saw the bridge coming.

"Goku watch out!" Chi-Chi yelled as they ran head first into the railing on the bridge.

"There," Goku said.

"Hey what's wrong?" Goku asked seeing his family in shock still clinging to their seats.

"Ok Goten," Chi-Chi said getting over her husband running into the rail, "We're stopped now hurry up and do your business."

"What's wrong Goten you can go now?" Gohan said looking at his brother.

"Well you see I kinda don't have to go anymore," Goten said looking at the puddle that had formed around his butt.

"You wet your pants? We did all that for nothing?" Chi-Chi said turning around in her seat about ready to strangle Goten.

"Whoa Chi-Chi calm down," Goku said pulling Chi-Chi back into the passenger seat.

"Mom I think you should drive now," Gohan said.

"Yes I think that's a good idea," Chi-Chi said looking through her purse.

"What's wrong mom?" Goten asked seeing a look of disbelief on his mother's face.

"I forgot my drivers license," Chi-Chi said with a what else can go wrong today look on her face.

"That means dad has to drive doesn't it Gohan?" Goten asked.

"Yes Goten," Gohan replied.

"Oh boy," Goten said and tied his seat belt together.

"Vegeta hurry up Goku will be here soon!" Bulma yelled into the Gravity Room.

"Alright, alright woman I'm coming I'm coming," Vegeta yelled back.

"Trunks are you ready?" Bulma yelled into the living room were Trunks was sitting playing video games.

"Yes Mom!" Trunks yelled as he pushed the buttons on the control his eyes glued to the television screen.

"Well at least someone is," Bulma said as she waited for Vegeta to come into the kitchen.

"Crashhhh!" they all heard a giant crash outside.

"Mom Goten is here!" Trunks yelled from the living room still stuck on laying his game.

"I know, I heard," Bulma replied.

"Can't he ever get here without making some kind of racket?" Vegeta said a little annoyed.

"Well you know Goku" Bulma replied with a laugh. "Trunks come on we have to go make sure everyone is ok," Bulma said as she entered the living room.

"Oh ok just one more… Ah Mom why did you do that?!" Trunks asked angrily as his mother held the cord, which plugged his game into the wall.

"Because if I hadn't we be here all day," Bulma replied and dropped the cord.

"But I only had one more level," Trunks said in his winning voice as he got up.

"Well you can finish it later son we have things to do right now," Bulma said as they went outside to what was left of Goku's car.

"Wow what a ride lets go again," Goku said to Chi-Chi as his door fell off, he had driven the car straight into a tree.

"Goten are you ok?" Gohan asked as he held on to Chi-Chi's headrest he held onto it for dear life and had pulled it off somewhere along the way.

"Yeah I'm ok I think," Goten replied he was half on the floor half on the seat.

"Hi guys," Bulma said approaching the car.

"Hi," Goku replied and hopped out of the front window or what used to be the front window.

"Had a little problem I see huh Goten?" Trunks said with a laugh as he opened Goten's door.

"Yeah you could say that Trunks," Gohan replied and tried to open his door but had to push it off.

"Gosh are you alright?" Bulma asked helping Chi-Chi out of the car.

"Yeah I'm fine," Chi-Chi replied about ready to fall backwards.

"Looks like you've had a bad drive Kakarrot," Vegeta asked walking toward Goku and the others.

"No actually it was fun," Goku replied with a laugh.

"Well we really need to get going you guys," Bulma said helping Chi-Chi stand up.

"Yeah just as long as dad doesn't drive," Gohan said.

"Oh don't worry Gohan I will be driving," Bulma replied pulling out a capsule, "I have a aircar we can use."

"Good," Goten replied.

"Hey Goten are you ready to lose?" Trunks asked.

"I think your gonna be the one who loses Trunks," Goten replied as the ran to the house.

"What are we going to do just leave the car here?" Bulma asked.

"Well I'm not sure what to do with it," Gohan replied.

"I know what to do with it," Vegeta said and held out his hand and blasted the car to who knows where.

"Well that's one way to do it," Goku said with a laugh.

"Yeah I guess so," Gohan replied looking up in the sky to see if he could see the car.

"Come on now don't just stand there let's go," Vegeta said a little annoyed as he stood by the aircar.

"Ok, ok we are coming Vegeta lighten up will ya," Goku said as they followed the prince.

"Goten, Trunks we are going now!" Bulma yelled as the little saiyans ran into the backyard.

"Aww Mom… do we have to go now?" Trunks asked.

"Yeah we were just about to play tag," Goten added.

"Yes I'm sorry boys but we have to go, we don't want to be late for the tournament," Bulma replied as they got in the aircar.

"Ok…" they both said sadly and got in.

"Hey Dad can I fight you in the tournament?" Trunks asked.

"Well I dunno Trunks you'd probably end up killing him," Bulma replied before Vegeta could answer.

"Oh… yeah… ok…" Trunks replied not really sure what to say.

"Can't this go any faster Bulma if we don't hurry we will be late," Gohan said.

"Really woman I've seen people walk faster than this piece of crap," Vegeta replied looking down at the people below.

"Wow look at all the people who came to see us," Goten said putting his face against the window.

"Yeah I can't believe how many people gather here just to watch us fight," Gohan replied he to was looking at all the people.

"Well if you as me they didn't come for the fights they just come for the food or at least that's why I'm here," Goku said with a laugh.

"Oh Goku," Chi-Chi said.

"Ok you want this to go fast then hold on to your seats," Bulma said and pushed a button that sent them speeding at about 120 miles an hour.

"Now that's more like it!" Goku said.

"Wow that didn't that long we're here," Gohan said as Bulma lowered the aircar.

"See I told you this car is the best," Bulma said and did a peace sign and winked.

"Yeah can we go now?" Goten asked excitedly.

"Yes let's go I want to fight," Vegeta said.

"Ok, ok Vegeta don't get your temper blazing save it for the fight," Goku said as he and Trunks got off the aircar.

"Where are we supposed to go?" Gohan asked as they walked around the arena.

"I think we go there," Trunks said pointing at a man who was signing people up to fight.

"Yeah that would be my guess," Bulma replied as they headed over to the table.

"Hi there we would like to sign up," Goku said.

"Ok I need all your names," the man said.

"We want to fight too," Goten said as he and Trunks walked up to the table.

"Ok but I'll have to put you in the kids competition."

"Why we want to fight with adults?" Trunks said.

"I'm sorry but I can't do that it's the rules you know," the man said.

"That's stupid," Trunks said.

"Well there isn't much I can do I'm sorry kids," the man said and signed them up in the 18 and under competition.

"I think it's a good idea," Bulma said as they began to walk away.

"Me too," Vegeta said, "We won't have to worry about getting put against a three year old. I want to fight a man not a kid in diapers."

"It stinks," Trunks said as they walked around looking at what all was going on.

"Yeah its not fair we are strong enough to fight with the adults," Goten replied.

"Well there isn't much we can do about it so let's stop complaining and have some fun," Bulma said.

"Yeah," Chi-Chi said.

"Well it doesn't look like there is much to do why don't you two find your seats and we'll get ready to fight," Gohan said.

"Yeah I guess your right," Chi-Chi said and she and Bulma went to find some seats.

"At least we'll get to see who we are fighting," Goku said.

"Yes but they'll probably turn out to be a bunch of weaklings," Vegeta said as they entered the area that was only for fighters.

"Hey guys!"

"Huh?" Goku said looking around. "Oh hi how you doing?" Goku asked as he saw Krillin, Piccolo, 18, Yamcha, and Master Roshi walking toward them.

"How did you guys get back here?" Gohan asked.

"Well Piccolo and I are fighting, Master Roshi and Yamcha snuck in," Krillin said.

"Oh I see," Goku said with a smile.

"Hi Piccolo," Gohan said.

"Hello Gohan you're looking well," Piccolo replied.

"Oh... yeah I'm fine," Gohan said rubbing the back of his head.

"Well if you as me it doesn't look like these guys are going to be much of a challenge," Yamcha said looking around, "Man if I would of known I would have had to fight these guys I would of entered."

"Yeah," Master Roshi said looking at the fighters as well. "They all look like push overs except that girl over there."

"Huh what girl?" Goku asked.

"Her," Roshi replied and pointed at the girl.

"Oh her yeah she appears to be stronger than the others but…" Goku said then he began to sense something about her.

"She's pretty," Goten said.

"Yeah I guess she is," Trunks replied not really caring about what they where talking about.

"Hey dad what's wrong?" Gohan asked seeing a strange expression on his father's face.

"Ha ha what's wrong Kakarrot she scar you?" Vegeta said with a laugh.

"No but I think I know her she looks so familiar," Goku replied still staring at the girl she appeared to be about the same age as he was maybe only a year or two younger.

"What you know her?" Krillin asked.

"I'm not sure but there's something about her that feels familiar."

"What is she an old girlfriend or something?" Yamcha asked.

"I dunno," Goku replied trying as best he could to remember this girl.

"Oh well I'm sure it's nothing to worry about," Piccolo said and started walking away.

"Yeah," Krillin replied and as he and the others began to follow Piccolo out to the stands where Chi-Chi and Bulma where sitting.

"Hey Dad hurry up!" Gohan called.

"Oh... ok..." Goku said and stopped staring at the girl and hurried after his friends.

"Hello guys," Bulma said as she saw them coming. "Hi do you mind if Master Roshi and I sit here?" Yamcha asked.

"No not at all," Chi-Chi replied.

"Your not fighting Yamcha?" Bulma asked.

"No way I'm to old to fight," Yamcha said with a laugh.

"Well we better go back they are bringing out the balls that say what fight we are in," Krillin said.

"Yeah see you after the tournament," Gohan said as they began to walk back to the fighter's only area.

"Bye Mom!" Goten hollered as they walked away.

"Bye Goten do your best!" Chi-Chi yelled back.

"I will," Goten replied and ran around the corner after Trunks.
