Dragon Ball/Z/GT Fan Fiction ❯ A Father's Love ❯ Chapter 1

[ P - Pre-Teen ]

West City. A calm ayet busy town; or so it seemed to "normal" people. What most people think are earthquakes, it is really the Z-Fighters battling away to save Earth from destruction.
"Channel 7 news. There has yet again been another earthquake. That will be a record of 4 in the last 3 months!! What is causing this outrageous and very much unnatural occurance?" the news man reported. He held a very nervous and confused expression on his face as he continued to report the news to the town.
"Hmph...if these damn aliens would stop hunting Kakkarot down then maybe we wouldn't have to deal with this damage. Honestly, these bastards get on my nerves....weaklings." Vegeta complained, turning off the tv.
The spikey-haired Saiyan lounged on the black leather couch, a scowl on his lips. He crossed his arms and yawned out of boredom. He was itching for a battle and he grinned maliciously as he envisioned himself finally beating Goku in a fight. He wanted that more than anything else in the world.
"Well," a young woman's voice rang behind them "we can't stop that now can we?" It was Bulma, Vegeta's wife. She wore her blue hair down below her shoulder and she had on a pair of blue jeans and a red shirt. In her arms she held a beautiful baby girl who had much of her father's appearance.
Bulma walked over to Vegeta and sat next to him on the couch. the little girl grinned up at him and cooed, tugging on Vegeta's navy blue wifebeater. Vegeta just glared at the child and and wrinkled his nose as if he just smelled something horrible. The baby laughed up at her Father's expression, finding something about it amusing.
"Awww. She just laughed. How adorable! Did you hear that?" Bulma said, her blue eyes glittering with excitement.
Vegeta looked at her, almost disgusted. "Hear what Woman? So the thing burped! So what!" he spat, standing up and moving away as if the plague was held within the little girl.
Bulma stood up, her nose wrinkled at him and a very angry expression on her face. "You know what?! Sometimes you really piss me off Vegeta!" She shouted, wanting to punch him in the face. She growled and walked upstairs to the baby's room, saying something loud enough for Vegeta to hear. "Don't worry Kali. Your Father will love you as I do someday. You'll see." She walked into the room and slammed the door behind her.
Vegeta plopped back down on the couch, his eyes darting back and forth. He may not show it on the outside, but on the inside he felt the tiniest bit of shame for his actions. He had a feeling that Kali couldn't live up to his expectations. "Damn women...." he mumbled as he laid his head on the back of the couch and closed his eyes for a moment to rest his mind. But before he could tend to his own thoughts, his son ran into the door.
"Father!" he spouted, almost breathless as he brushed back lavender locks. "The Cult has returned once again!"
