Dragon Ball/Z/GT Fan Fiction ❯ A Fusion of Worlds ❯ Setting the Stage ( Prologue )
A Fusion of Worlds:
A Dragonball Z Fanfic
Chapter 1: Setting the Stage
Alright, you know the spiel. I don't own Dragonball Z, yada, yada, yada. I in no way have any affiliation with FUNimation (thank Kami) or Toei. I am simply a fan with an idea.
Author's Note: A Fusion of Worlds takes place in an alternate timeline. It is 5 years after the Cell Games. Cell killed Mr. Satan when he swatted him into a mountain (Hurray!). Gohan was able to destroy Cell before he destroyed himself and Kaioh-sei. As such, Goku was not killed. Also, Cyborg Furiza did not come to Earth at any point… until now, that is.
5 years had passed since the almost apocalyptic Cell Games. The world mourned the loss of their hero, Mr. Satan, and praised their new hero, Chibi Senshi. Chibi Senshi, or Gohan (a name few people outside of the Z-Senshi new) mourned the death of his mother, Chichi, at the hands of his little brother, Goten.
**********
Gohan and Goku had been at Dende's Palace, training in the Room of Time and Spirit, a place too dangerous for four-year-old Goten. Chichi saw how sullen Goten was and decided to train him herself.
Their training session lasted most of the day and into the night. At around 8:30 p.m., Goten began to tire and weaken and Chichi began to gain the upper hand. At 8:37, Chichi made the worst, and final, mistake of her life.
Goten charged her. Chichi overestimated how much power she needed to counter him and monkey-flipped Goten into a nearby tree. As Goten slid down, rage filled his whole being. When he hit terra firma, he exploded in a golden, flaming aura. His jet-black hair was stirred by an unfelt wind, then stood bolt upright and turned the color of new Spanish doubloons.
Goten charged Chichi again, who had seen Goten's astonishing transformation and was staring, goggle-eyes and slack-jawed at her son. She never saw it coming. Goten leapt at the last second and shot a flying kick into Chichi's stomach. Chichi was sent flying a good 15 feet and slammed into the wall of their dome house. She let out a scream of torment and pain usually saved for prisoners of war and victims of torture as geysers of blood erupted from her chest. Then, the screaming stopped, and she went limp.
A gaff hook, left over from the last time Gyu-mao went fishing, had been hanging off of a peg on the wall to dry. It was now buried deep in Chichi's torso, the barbs skewering her heart.
**********
Goten locked himself in his room for 2 weeks after that. When Goku and Gohan returned to find Chichi's body, the last bits of ki leaving her body through erratic twitches, their feelings were mixed. To say they were heartbroken would not be enough to accurately describe their sorrow. It was more like their hearts were set on a railroad track with a long, slow moving train coming.
However, their anguish was slightly relieved when they realized that now Gohan and Goten could become true warriors… particularly Gohan. Near the end of their stay in the room, Goku had caught up with Gohan, becoming a second level Super Saiya-jin. It didn't take long, though, before Gohan once again showed his true potential by reaching the pinnacle of Halfbreed power: becoming a third-level Super Saiya-jin.
**********
Kuririn and Eighteen had been married for four years. Kururin owned a dojo, Eighteen was the President of Capsule Corp.'s Android Division, and their daughter Marron, was class president at Chibi Senshi Day Care.
**********
Piccolo, Tenshinhan, and Chao-zu had become stronger in their own ways. Piccolo and fully charged the Makankosappou, now using four fingers instead of two. Tenshinhan had perfected his split-form technique so that it no longer divided his powerlevel by the number of copies he had. Chao-zu had become Grand Wect of the VCWA, Vertically Challenged Warriors Association. As such, he had hundreds of fighters under 3 feet tall under his influence.
**********
Of course, we must not forget Vegeta. Ever since the Cell Games, his hatred and rivalry against Kakarotto and Gohan had become a simmering rage. How could a lowly peasant halfbreed defeat the beast that had killed the son f a Prince? It had been a pathetic excuse for a Saiya-jin that avenged his son, not the father of the son. This could not be forgiven.
Vegeta began training under 5,000 times normal Earth gravity every day. Soon, he too was a second-level Super Saiya-jin. The pride he felt in this was dashed by the discovery the next day that his 5-year-old son, Trunks, had been a Super Saiya-jin for at least a year. When did the transformation to the legendary warrior become a mere child's milestone? This revelation came about a week before our story actually begins…
Thus is the opening for our tale. The scene is set, the cast is told, and all that remains is for the story to unfold. Hey! I'm a poet and I didn't even realize I was a poet! Anyway, if this seems boring right now, chapter 2 is on the way. This is simply Setting the Stage (see chapter title). The next chapter is where the story begins to take shape. If you think I've got something good going, please write a review. All flames will be printed, lit on fire, and stapled to the genitals of those who send them.
