Dragon Ball/Z/GT Fan Fiction ❯ A Goddess And A Prince ❯ Breakups Suck ( Chapter 2 )
Title: A Goddess And A Prince
Rating: PG (It WILL go up in later chapters…)
A/N: Well, here's another chapter for you guys… Enjoy!
Screams and curses resounded throughout the Capsule Corporation building. Yamcha and Bulma were at each other's throats again. The human had been ignoring her. Again. And she was upset. Again…
Vegeta winced as a ki ball grazed his left shoulder. He couldn't concentrate like this. His sensitive Saiyajin ears could pick up every shout that came past their lips twofold… How was he supposed to become a Super Saiyajin in these conditions?!?
He stopped his training, turned off the gravity simulator, and caught the ki ball just as if he were catching a baseball and crushed it, sending sparks of ki in every direction. He would put a stop to this. His quest to achieve the legendary level of Super Saiyajin was far more important than their petty relationship problems.
He entered the house through the back door just in time to hear the weakling human scream: "FINE!! IT'S OVER!!!"
"IT'S PRACTICALLY BEEN OVER FROM THE VERY BEGINNING!!!" The woman yelled back.
Vegeta smirked, secretly very impressed by her spiteful attitude. If she had any kind of reasonable power level, she could easily be mistaken for a Saiyajin.
The sound of a slamming door followed by a collapsing sound reached Vegeta's ears. His first impulse, much to his dismay, was to go straight to the living room to check up on the woman.
He sneered, disgusted with himself. What did he care if she was in emotional pain? What did it matter to him? Why DID he care?! Why was he even pondering this???
There was DEFINITELY something wrong with him. He briefly considered the fact that the woman might have been putting something in the food she gave him, but he quickly determined that that was not the case. If it had, she and the weakling wouldn't have been fighting, for he had eaten the same things that the woman had served him.
Was he actually developing feelings for this woman? It didn't seem possible. He didn't think that it was possible that he could feel any other emotion other than anger, rage, and hatred. In fact, he himself had tried to purge all emotions from his psyche except for those said three.
But it seemed that no matter how hard he tried, this foreign… feeling… kept emerging in his thoughts. It just wouldn't leave him be no matter how much he pushed it down. It only surfaced worse than before.
Argh!!! Enough thinking!!! You can do this later!!! He mentally screamed at himself.
He stalked off to the living room to check on the current state of the blue-haired woman. Quite why, he still wasn't sure, but he knew that these thoughts would not stop tormenting him until he did. And he certainly couldn't train in this condition.
When he marched into the room, the sight that greeted him was one he never expected to see. The woman was slumped on the couch with her head in her hands and shivering even though it wasn't remotely cold.
For the first time in the year that he had known the woman she looked fragile and broken. He was unpleasantly shocked to find that the sight of her in this state pained him as well. The prince was also even more unpleasantly shocked by his sudden desire to either embrace the woman and soothe her pain or go out and hunt down that weakling human and rip his ribcage out through his ass.
It was at that time that the woman chose to look up and notice that he was in the room, watching her. For a moment, he saw nothing but heart-wrenching sadness behind those cobalt orbs, but it was quickly replaced by an expression of pure defiance.
"What do you want Vegeta?" The question was filled with grief and laced with venom.
It was then that the proud Prince of all Saiyajin, who prided himself on his iron will, lost all control over his impulses…

Bulma sat back on the couch and put her face in her hands. She and Yamcha had broken up again. And it had finally gotten to her. She could feel the scalding tears filling her eyes and threatening to roll down her cheeks.
No!! I won't cry!! Not for that stupid jerk!!! He doesn't deserve my tears!
She squeezed her eyes tightly shut to hold back the tears that were desperately trying to escape their watery prison. This was the last time. This time she wasn't going to take Yamcha back once he came around begging for her forgiveness again. This time it was truly over. She had grown more than tired with giving her heart to him just to have him stomp it into the ground.
She heard the noise of a board creaking and looked up. To her complete horror, she saw Vegeta standing across the room looking at her as if she were some sort of mystery he was trying to figure out. The last thing she needed was for him to see her like this. He'd never let her live this down.
"What do you want Vegeta?" She demanded, wincing at how sorrowful her voice sounded. Maybe it would've been a better idea not to say anything at all…
Then the last thing she had ever expected from Vegeta happened. In a flash, he had crossed the room and pulled her into a comforting embrace, a soothing purr rumbling deep in his chest. Utter shock filled her being at this at this gesture. Vegeta was holding her close. Vegeta was purring, trying to ease her pain. Of all people, it was Vegeta.
She sighed and wrapped her arms around him, sinking into the embrace. For right now, she was contented with simply being held. Even if it was Vegeta that was holding her. It seemed that, for now, the prince was actually concerned about another living being.
Bulma highly doubted that anything like this would ever happen again, but she was happy to accept it right now. She needed it right now. Even if he did have a heart of ice, Vegeta's body seemed safe and warm for the moment.
Maybe this means that the ice is melting…
She quickly snuffed the thought out. More than likely, this was just an impulse, spur-of-the-moment thing. Vegeta just wasn't the caring type.
Bulma felt her thoughts leaving her as her fatigue and the warmth of Vegeta's body and his purr lulled her to sleep…
