***Stop the Clock***

'Lens of strange beauty was gone from his eyes', the words shinned under the bedroom light as I tilted the book to the left then to the right, grinning as the words lit up from the typical black background. 'That remained was the ugly animal light of fear'. Another one of those damn insomnia nights of mine they'd been happening for over a year now. The staying up till past midnight and just randomly writing, being random in general since my mother died I've been staying with my aunt, it's so much more quiet up here in the country. I'm not used to it. I'm a city girl at heart. I love the nightlife of the city the excitement and all that music, clubbing all the good things. I worked only part time so not to interfere with my studies. Evil evil evil having to work and study I was doing two classes up here the main one a bar managers. The exam I was supposed to be studying for was far beyond my mind as I titled the book again. I missed home I missed Neil. I missed the city most of all. It was an odd sensation. A drawing power lead me outside in the middle of the night the strength of a storm. My cousin used to love running round outside jumping in the puddles she was only twelve after all. Not her fault. She was my best friend in this area, though I could never tell her that, how low I have sunk, then age the age difference between her and me was the same to Gohan and Goten…

I left the book on the shelter of the porch and I wandered through the backyard watching the sky light up in blue streaks. It was like that day. Fate would have it that I had stopped only centimetres away from where a lightening bolt hit in front of me. I had been pulled away in time though, damn him damn his caring if only… only he'd let me embrace the visions that I had received but now they were back a two years later to the day they were back to mark it like it was fate. This time he would not prevent me from going to a world where I longed to be. Sad as it is that was how I felt a sense of not belonging here and knowing only a small handful would miss me if I was gone.

My head titled upwards feeling the beginning of droplets of rain on my face, the several gothic type necklaces hung round my neck, my once long hair short again hung straight and red as always. Eyes closed feeling the rain soaking me through causing a chill it was involuntary but it was also welcomed. A sense of peace in the night.

There was a crack followed instantly by the sound of thunder and I watched as a tree crashed in front of me. There was no one to prevent it now, not one single person. Perhaps I would get to wander round during the Buu saga that would be interesting, perhaps until the being turned in to candy thing struck.

I watched the sky then out of nowhere and fast a blue light struck me, the sting was crazy but beautiful the sensation of feeling like electricity of a million and one ants racing beneath the skin made an itching sensation but I only felt myself falling instead of scratching, and the falling sensation continued until all was black.

~*~*~*~

The pain was suddenly so strong that I had to sit up right my head spun and I looked at my surroundings I recognised the area instantly. H.F.I.L or the otherworld hell I jumped up and to my feet spinning round instantly to see a group of figures surrounding me. Frieza, Cell, Ginyu force, Radditz, Nappa. It wasn't exactly how I pictured my intended cross over.

"Um… hi." I waved sheepishly.

"Another monkey." Frieza sounded disgusted.

"Okay I know humans are ya know like suppose to be descended form apes and all that but man I only just arrived, no way to treat a newbie."

"Human… she thinks she's human." Radditz laughed. "You're about as human as I am."

I pointed at him angrily. "I am so human. My mother raised me-" I felt the sudden feeling as if my arm was being grabbed. I blinked and looked confused my arms were still in front of my and nothing was on them.

"If you're human girl then what's this?" Nappa questioned.

I looked behind me where he was and to what he was holding. It was brown and furry and looked just like…

"A tail!" I blinked in surprise. "That wasn't there before!"

"I had a vision you would come daughter of Darrsan."

I looked over my shoulder to see that who spoke and my eyes stared at the man I had seen and known on the show as Bardock.

"Whoa hold up daughter of Dar-what?"

"He was the captain of the ship that escaped Vegeta-sei. The one Frieza didn't destroy."

"There was another ship." Radditz sounded surprised at his father's words.

"She is half saiyan half human." Bardock explained.

I smirked thinking this was just typical of a cross over reality everyone wants to be a saiyan it's only natural to have that kind of power and strength.

"She doesn't believe you look at her smirk." Radditz pointed out.

I watched as Frieza just rolled his eyes and walked off obviously planning something with Cell I knew it involved escape though, perhaps when they did I could hopefully get out of H.F.I.L too.

"I know she doesn't it's all too soon to explain. But she must begin to train, the other world tournament is a good place to start. Follow me. I'm sure we can get you booked in, what quadrant do you think you could fight for?"

"I'm not fighting in a tournament Hell no I won't go." I protested.

"But you will be trained after all King Kai is sending Baba here to collect you."

I looked at Bardock. "Don't do that."

It was only a moment later the pink haired witch appeared and I let out a sigh.

"Problem with the books you came to the wrong place dearie. Now follow me." Baba remarked.

~*~*~*~

The visions I'd had over the last year had showed me what would of happened if I had arrived when I was suppose to of. The affair with Goku, the marrying Yamcha, the daughter and the android saga all that followed. But the visions were nothing compared to seeing the real Goku standing in front of me.

"Wow another saiyan from earth!" He sounded quite happy and surprised at once.

I spent more time looking at my feet sheepishly.

"Goku you're the only one suitable enough to train this young one before she returns."

"Returns?!" I looked at Baba, "What do you mean returns?!" I didn't want to go back not now, not with Goku in front of me. Then there was all the DBZ bishies wandering round, it was so not fair.

"Dearie it seems that electrical storm sent you to us for a reason, a gift or perhaps some knowledge you possess of the future. We have to get you to earth to help protect it. Well that's according to Bardock." She explained.

"So I'm not really dead?"

"No but your body has crossed over."

"Unlike in my visions…" I muttered to myself.

I felt the stares and I saw Goku and Baba both looking at me.

"You receive them too, good then it was suppose to be you." Baba looked at Goku. "I'll leave her in your hands Goku, and please don't take too long."

"I won't."

Baba then left and I felt Goku clamp a hand on my shoulder. "So you're the new saviour chosen for earth. Wow you guys just keep getting younger and younger."

I raised an eyebrow. "I'm not too young pal."

"But you only look about seventeen."

"Seventeen?!" I exclaimed. "Hardly I'm much older thank-you!"

"Oh wow, definitely a saiyan then." He smiled that typical Son Goku smile. "Lets get training then shall we."

I nodded reluctantly. I knew that this time he would be as strict on me as possible after all he wasn't five years older than me in this reality, but much older. I felt he would keep his distance especially if I looked seventeen.

~*~*~*~

We'd spent a good part of my time in otherworld training even though I wasn't truly dead, not the way everyone else here was. Now I was up to the most intense training ever, Goku teaching me to go beyond the level of super saiyan. He was just scary looking in his level three and me in my piddly little normal super saiyan level.

"I'm not a full blooded saiyan I can't go that far." It was an argument that wasn't going to be won very easy, or not at all.

"You will." He smiled. Even in the level three the smile scared me.

"It would be easier if I could just go mystick." I complained to myself.

"Mystic?" Goku powered down through each level slowly and looked at me. "You know something I don't?" he asked full with curiosity.

It was my turn to smile at him. "Duh of course I do why else do you think Baba brought me here?"

"To train."

"No because I know things. I see things beyond time and your understanding."

Goku frowned at me. He obviously didn't like my attitude. So I changed it quickly.

"Just teach me this instant transmission thing."

He instantly brightened up. "Oohh that's easy so of course."

"Good-o lets do this." I let my power drop down and out of super saiyan.

~*~*~*~

"One minute to go dearie."

I looked at Baba as she hoovered there on her crystal ball. I looked up at Goku.

"Thanks." I shuffled my feet across the ground sheepishly. "For the training and stuff."

Goku just smiled. "Nice to meet another saiyan out there. Say can you let my family know that I do miss them."

"Sure." I smiled and gave him a quick hug.

"Grab on to me dear it's time to go." Baba said.

I waved to Goku as I grabbed on to her shoulder. The little pink haired witch flinched then obviously got used to it. With that she teleported with me using her magick, to the earth of the Dragonball Z reality.

We arrived round a corner and I let go of her. She hoovered there for a minute. "What do I do?"

She just smiled. "Round the corner is a school. Time for you to attend it."

"School?! I should be in college not school!" I protested.

"I've used my powers to accommodate you, in your locker you will find everything you need. You are a student here, now hide that tail and get to class before you're late." With that she vanished.

I grumbled to myself and manually tucked my tail round my waistband of my jeans and pulled my shirt over the back of the tail so it just looked like a wacky fuzzy belt. With that I walked round the corner and looked up at the yellow building with the bright orange star near the top.

"Wow this school… it's so much bigger in person." I mused.

Suddenly someone pushed me aside from behind. I stumbled forward but caught my balance and turned round ready to have a good go at them.

"Hey watch it!" I shouted annoyed. "Ooop." I blinked seeing Vegeta there. It was odd that he should be. He just smirked at me.

"Not so cocky are we now girl?" he questioned. "you know who to fear."

"I don't fear you!" I snapped at him. "Why should I fear someone more vertically challenged than me?" I growled.

It was then he walked up to me and I stepped back as he invaded my personal space and reminded me he'd continued to grow and I hadn't.

Vegeta then looked past me and I saw Gohan racing outside and up to him.

"Vegeta! Hey. I sensed you on your way-" Gohan slapped himself on the forehead looking at me. I knew he was trying to blend in be normal and hide his powers.

I just smiled. "Um excuse me… I'll just be on my way, don't worry senses are very good things to have. Though I don't trust mine… they get me lost very easily…" I backed away then raced inside the door of the orange star high school. I let out a breath once inside and cringed at the thought of having to do high school again.

~*~*~*~

"Friend of yours?"

Gohan blinked and shook his head. "No I haven't seen her before."

"Her ki is too high for a humans. I came here to see. It's unusually strong, much stronger than yours. So don't be flattered by my visit. Her ki is familiar to me."

Gohan scratched his head and he looked to the building he noticed that Vegeta was right. She was giving off a different ki to everyone else.

"Well if she's new I'm sure I'll find something out about her soon enough." Gohan shrugged.

"Don't waste your time, I'm watching her." With that he took off to the sky.

Gohan cringed. If anyone had seen him talking to Vegeta, who had no respect for him wanting a normal life, they would defiantly want to know about the flying thing.

He re-entered the building and saw the girl by a locker she was spinning a combination and he watched as it opened and she pulled out a yellow book bag and looked at it like she was seeing some sort of ghost.

'Megami… my old bag I won in my high school fund raising competition… nutty… Baba meant what she said about organising stuff out for me…' Leona thought to herself and rummaged through the bag.

"Hey there." Gohan smiled and walked up to her.

She slammed her locker shut and stood in front of it like she was obviously hiding something. He knew that look and actions before. He did it all the time hiding his powers from people.

"Are you new here?" he asked hoping she was cause then it being his second day and all he would have someone else to talk to about the difficulties of being new.

"Yes. I arrived here… today…" She looked to the ground.

"I'm Gohan." He offered for a conversation starter.

"Leona… I shouldn't really be here." She replied.

"Why not?"

"Cause I've done all this before."

"Study you mean? Like were you home schooled?"

"Um not really when I was living with my aunt I was going to Colle- ah an advanced school."

Gohan nodded he suddenly understood. She had completed high school before and they mistook her age for that of just a normal student.

"Well Leona, I only started yesterday but I think I know my way round most of it. I can show you if you want." He offered.

"Sure and just call me Lee."

"Lee." He repeated with a nod.

~*~*~*~

Stuffing my hands in to my pockets I pulled out my timetable it was something I had managed to grab from the locker before Gohan came along and then I looked at the timetable. I hadn't managed to get a good look at it but as I did at that moment I felt incredibly stupid. It was in Japanese, a language I wasn't the any bit confidant in reading, yet everyone spoke English it was just like the show. Well the dubbed version anyway.

"Gohan you're like Japanese aren't you?" I asked.

He looked at me like I was weird. "Yes why?"

"I'm not." I confessed. I held up the timetable and he looked at it.

"I get it now." He said like he was working out a puzzle or clue to some big mystery.

"Huh?"

"They sent you to high school to learn our language."

I looked at him then I looked at the timetable. "It would be nice if they gave me an English translation though." It was more of a complaint than a whine, but it came out a mix of the two.

"So where are you from?"

I smirked. "Earth. You?"

He couldn't help but laugh. "Yeah me too I'm from the 439 mountain area."

"Mountains… like country. You're a country boy aren't you? Like cows and sheep and cow pat and paddocks and smelly animals and stuff right?" I was totally playing dumb.

"You don't know where 439 is do you?"

"Not a clue." I confessed. "I'm from below the equator like near Antarctica. But on the same level as Melbourne."

"That's a long way."

"Don't I know it. I just gotta figure out where I'm living now."

"You don't know?"

"Bad sense of direction." I said quickly.

"How bad?"

"I can get lost two blocks from my house."

"You wouldn't last long where I lived then."

I smiled. "Ya never know, invite me sometime."

"I might just do that. My mother will be happy I've found someone my own age to talk to and study with. Plus someone who's done college in the western world."

"Don't remind me… I took the most stupidest college classes ever. I can't believe I actually took law and drama in the same semester the nine of clock two hour lectors in the morning and then the seven o clock drama lectors at night and the tutorials an hour after that I'd leave home at like seven thirty in the morning and then wouldn't get home until ten at night."

"Wow. Those are long hours."

"Yeah I had American history and Shakespeare in there too, oooh plus American cinematography, Maori art history and music. My classes were actually aimed at a major in the arts."

Gohan smiled. "So what's it like… college that is?"

"Well I attended three colleges, part gypsy can't help but shift around alot, and my mother actually wanted me to do a degree in business management." I rolled my eyes. "Parents eh, so I told her I'd only take that if it didn't class with the classes I took in bar work at my second college. The third college was better, I got a B + average which was good for me considering I slacked my way through it." I laughed and rubbed the back of my neck.

"Not one for study?" he smiled.

"I never studied in high school, there was no need to I was a natural genus." I boasted. "An A average student when I showed up to class. Science, Religious studies, physical education and art were my main classes." I caught Gohan looking at me and I found myself sort of drawn to him, he was really cute. Those damn Son genes…

"If you don't live far from here I can walk you home if you want. If you don't know your way round." Gohan offered.

I felt a little bit nervous suddenly. Gohan and Videl were supposed to be the thing of this school, but I wasn't sure if Gohan liked me or if I was messing up something major.

"Uh I guess."

"So tell me about your family." Gohan questioned.

"My dad is a psycho, so my mum booted him out, then she died, so I was living with my aunt, then I was moved here to um train I think… study a different culture to use with what I know already. At least I think. I'm pretty unsure. I don't know where I live here either, or who with. I only arrived when you came outside before."

"So you haven't been to your first class yet." He looked at the timetable. "Well you have English with me, so I can take you there."

I smiled. "Thanks."

"No problem." He flashed that famous Son grin at my direction and I felt myself suddenly flush it was really adorable coming from him. "Oh do you have any brother's or sister's?"

"Younger brother. Being the oldest is a total drag." I cupped my hands behind my head as I walked. "He's cool though we used to spar in the kitchen while mum was cooking she hated it but we loved it. The kitchen floor was lino so it was smooth and fun especially in socks."

Gohan laughed. "So how old is younger brother?" He asked. "Mine's eleven years younger than me."

"Eleven years?!" I gaped. "My bro's like only two and a half years younger than me." I tried to make it sound like it was a big thing and in our world there would be like kids in between those years I was sure of it.

"My dad wasn't at home too often really." Gohan rubbed the back of his neck sheepishly.

"Yeah well my dad is the oldest of get this… sixteen kids." I nodded.

Gohan nearly fell over. "SIXTEEN?!" He exclaimed.

"Yep sixteen kids over about twenty-four years, and there's a set of twins in there too." I nodded with a chuckle. "The youngest is five years older than me. He's married and his wife is pregnant and what's cool is when I started high school my uncle was still there so I could go up to him and go 'uuuuuncle can I borrow some money I don't have any lunch'. Then he'd give me five buck and whoosh I'd be off and his friends would tease him about it. hehe I lived to embarrass him."

Gohan laughed. "So it was kind of like a brother sister thing right?" he asked.

"Yeah. I'm actually looking forward to this high school thing again, those were some cruisey years for me. I feel just like Drew Barrymore in Never Been Kissed, minus the reporter thing and the crushin on the high school teacher."

"Got anything positive from your high school years?"

"I guess the fact that my uncle married the girl he was dating through out his senior years in high school. I think that's positive and absolutely kawaii." I grinned. I liked the idea of Gohan and Videl especially getting married after becoming an unofficial couple in high school.

"Well here we are." Gohan stopped outside the classroom and I took a deep breath Gohan pushed open the door and I felt suddenly nervous, School, all over again, despite the cruiseness I had this was a Japanese school they weren't cruisey they were suppose to be hard.

~*~*~*~

"Gohan hey!" Eraser waved at him as he entered the class.

He smiled and waved back. He looked behind him and watched as Lee entered shyly. She seemed extremely nervous, but he was too on his first day.

"Students I'd like to welcome a new student, this is Leona Anthanasius, she's come all the way from Australasia to learn about our culture so lets be nice and welcome her."

"You can sit with me." Gohan offered and lead her up the stairs.

Eraser grinned as he sat down and Lee sat down in a seat next to him. "Hi I'm Eraser. This is my best friend Videl and that's Sharpener."

Lee smiled at them. "Leona but I get called Lee it's easier."

"So how do you know Gohan here?" Videl asked.

Gohan cringed. It was beginning, Videl was out to find out about him and reveal his secret he just knew it.

"I don't really I just meet him just before, he helped me read my timetable." Lee replied.

"You can't read?" Sharpener snorted.

"Japanese." Gohan corrected. "She can't read Japanese."

"Australasia… what part are you from?" Eraser asked.

"New-Zealand." Lee replied. She hoped there would be no tell the class about you thing… but frowned when the teacher called out to her.

"Leona, stand up tell the class about yourself and why you're in English class."

She sighed and rubbed the back of her neck. She stood up and looked down at the set up. "Wow this is set out like a university how cool." Lee grinned looking round. "Even the bad teaching stations."

The teacher looked at her. Gohan bit his lower lip to stop himself from laughing.

"What?" Eraser looked at her.

"It's a scientific fact that when people look down with there eyes that it's harder to memorise things. Compared to when looking up when people want to remember things they look up it's a natural human reflex so there fore shouldn't the information be stored up not down so it's easier to access."

"Gohan's found himself a nerdy girlfriend." Sharpener remarked settling back resting back in his seat.

"Anyway English is my first language, I like it I speak it, so there fore I think it's good that I should take it." Lee nodded.

"A bit more about yourself Lee." The teacher prodded.

"Ummm I take martial arts… I go to the gym, I play drums, I was in a Jazz band back home, and I've done Latin Caribbean dancing. Ooooh and I like have a cat called Tiger I'm a cat person all the way, I wanted to call her Puar after Yamcha's cat Puar, but my brother didn't want to stand on the doorstep at night and call out 'Puar!' Yet he strangely named my mother's cat psycho, so instead he stands on the doorstep calling out 'Psycho, here psych, c'mon boy…' Brothers go figure."

The teacher looked at her and Videl gave her a side on glance, then looked at Gohan. Gohan smiled, she was just being quite comical about everything.

Once they'd settled in to reading silently. "Where'd you learn that about the set out of university that is?" Gohan asked Lee quietly.

"My sensei, he was real cool like that full of information." She replied.

"So you do martial arts too?" Eraser asked, Lee nodded. "Neat Videl's father is Hercule."

Lee just nodded. "Well that's nice, my father is a carpenter."

"She doesn't know who Hercule is." Gohan explained quickly seeing the shocked look on Videl and Eraser's faces.

"The man who saved us all from Cell, how can you not know that?" Sharpener sounded disgusted.

"We focus where I come from on our own country. You see it's small, it's hick like and the only thing we ever hear about is the U.S.A and their wars. Besides there's more to life than what goes on in this part of the world."

"Cell was world wide though." Eraser pointed out.

"Was he?" Lee looked at her. "I come from a small country. Trust me there are so many small countries out there he missed us completely. We were completely Cell free."

"So what have you got planned for our country then?" Videl questioned.

"To learn the language of course, I know a few words, but that's really it. Oooh do you guys like have a gym or something round here I can sign up in. Since I doubt the style of martial arts I learn is available near by. Need to keep in shape, plus I'm a total gym junkie."

Videl jerked her thumb over in Sharpener's direction. "Sharpener can help you with that."

"Oh cool." Lee smiled.

"Well I doubt you're any match for me, but I spose I can teach you a thing or too." Sharpener boasted.

Lee scratched the side of her neck and smirked. "Well then I'm willing to learn."

"You are a geek aren't you?" Sharpener questioned.

"Oh yeah and I'm sure you're the ultimate Ladies man." She challenged.

Sharpener grinned. "Glad to see you agree but I could never date anyone like you, you see my girlfriends are literate."

Gohan blinked as he sensed Lee' ki spike and for a second he though he saw the flicker of electricity and ki spark up around her and then it died again quickly.

'Vegeta was right.' Gohan realised, she'd just given him proof that she wasn't different. 'I'm going to get to the bottom of this, that's or sure.'
