A slave for you

Chapter one: Arrival

Slowly her vision began to clear. It felt like hours since she had last felt conscious. She winced as she took in a harsh breath and tried desperately to adjust her sight to her current surroundings.
Moans seemed to echo around the cramped dark room. Chains clanked and rattled off the walls. The girl tried to move her arms but found she had little movement. It was the same with her legs. Putrid odors filled her nostrils as she lay her head back against the cold metal, slowly drifting off once again into sleep.

~dream~

It was perhaps the darkest she had ever seen. It flowed all around her, this darkness. She struggled to move through it as it began to swirl.
Suddenly a cruel laughter rippled through the air as she vainly tried to find it's source. Three men walked out of the shadows. They were big in size with a muscular build. Black spiky hair framed their faces as they looked cruelly down at her. She barely came to their chests in height.
They conversed with each other in a tongue she couldn't understand. The man in the front then pointed at her.
She widened her eyes as fear crawled up her spine. Swallowing the lump in her throat she ran in the opposite direction. Again she heard the mocking laughter. Looking backward she crashed into something. Rubbing her bruised rear she looked up in shock.

“Impossible…” she gasped.

The man looked down at her. He wasn't nearly as muscular as the other two. Smiling coldly, he got down on one knee, his elbow resting there as he came to eyelevel with the girl.

“Well, where did we think we were going?” He then outstretched his hand to caress her cheek just as she scrambled away.
Feeling a pain in her neck, she slowly lost consciousness; their cruel laughter filling her dreams.

~end dream~

Sudden yelling knocked her out of her sleep. Covering her eyes, she hissed lightly. It had been days since she had seen light. The room itself looked more horrid illuminated by light and she suddenly wished they were back in darkness. Beaten men and women lay chained all around. Puddles of urine and excretion covered the floors. The prisoners looked up miserably at the guards who began unlocking the chains from the walls.
She shuddered when they came to her. They were the same men who had chased her down. One of the men held the end of the chains while the prisoners followed out in a neat line, a guard surrounding them from all sides. The cries continued muffled this time while they walked down the seemingly endless ramp.
The girl gasped when she stepped out of the ship. It was like nothing she had ever seen. Well perhaps similar to what she had seen in a science-fiction movie once but then so was the ship that had brought them here. It appeared to be a sort of launch pad. She could see ships of all kinds taking off. A majority looked like circular pods. Men she perceived to be soldiers ran to these pods opened them and took off. Turning her attention back to the front and saw a large building coming into view. A large white building with features she couldn't think of to describe. There were two large doors with a guard on either side. They didn't have any human features but rather like a lizard. She shivered inwardly as she studied their mean faces.
As they were taken inside, she was shocked at the technology. It was far beyond anything she'd ever seen.
They stopped.
A large man was waiting there, observing the group.
Craning her neck, she observed the two men. They were conversing quietly, glancing occasionally at the prisoners.

“Alright.” the bigger one said and pointed. “ Men in this room, woman in that room”

“Yes sir.” The other man replied.

As the big man walked off, he began unlocking the chains. They rubbed their wrists thankfully and look enviously at the doors.

“Don't get any ideas! You won't stand a chance.” He said matter-of-factly as he gathered up the chains and threw them into a corner. “You! Get rid of that chain.”

“Yes sir,” the boy said, removing the chain.

Throwing all the men aside, he pointed at the door. “Go in there!”

He watched as the men hurried into the room and then told the same to the women. “Go!”

The girl shook involuntary as she heard the door slam and the lock click.

“What's going to happen?!” the girl burst out.

“You mean, you don't know?” an elderly woman laughed bitterly.

“What's your name girl?” another asked.

“V-Vatari” she stuttered while scanning the room.

It was empty. Just four walls of smooth metal with a blinking light hanging above. There wasn't one piece of furniture nor a window. Everyone else except the two elderly women were looking around frantically.

“Well I'll tell you what they're going to do Vatari. They're going to sell us. We're slaves now.” she chuckled.

“This isn't funny!” Vatari exclaimed.

Vatari collapsed onto the floor, crying hopelessly into her hands. Suddenly she heard footsteps and a click.
