This tells the story of how the world ended up in such a state as it is in in my story. It also shows how Sigma came into being and explains what happened to the previous commander of the Hunter's Guild, Zero. You might recognize some of the characters in this story as well.

Prologue

<<<This story is not unlike many you have probably heard. It involves people and the events caused by their actions. Enough of that though, let's just get on with the story…we begin in an abandoned factory, with three unknown men who are discussing things privately.>>>

David: I think this plan will be a huge success. We're gonna be rich!

Jason: No kidding! Once it's fully functional we could mass produce them, market them, and then we'd have more money than most small countries!

Kai: One problem…

<<<David is about 6'05” and wearing cargo pants, a blue tank top, and combat boots. He has blue eyes and black hair. Jason stands about 5'11” and is wearing blue jeans, a white t-shirt, and black tennis shoes. He has blonde hair and blue eyes. Kai is about 6'0” and wearing a black ninja garb with a red scarf-like accessory that has two ends which hang down to about his knees.>>>

Jason: Oh no, Mr. Pessimistic has a problem…what is it?

Kai: We have no way to test it. If we try to market an untested product and it doesn't work right then we'll really be in for it!

David: Make a copy and implant it into me!

Kai: Are you crazy?! What are we gonna do if it makes you brain-dead or something?! How will we explain that to the police?! There wouldn't be any proof that we didn't just kidnap you and force you into testing it!

David: But if it does work, we'll be rich as hell!

Kai: Fine do what you want. I'll finish the damn thing…later! *disappears ninja-style in a puff of smoke*

Jason: Do you think that's such a good idea?

David: I don't really care. I actually just wanted the powers it gives you.

Jason: Sounds reasonable enough…well I'm going home. I'll catch ya on the flip side.

David: Whatever that means.

Jason: Never mind. *walks away*

David: [Yes, finally I'll be able to make my wildest dreams a reality!] *walks home*

<<<The next day the three meet at Kai's Workshop.>>>

Kai: I've finished it and the copy. We'll use the copy for the test run; if it works then we'll patent it and present the idea to some big company.

Jason: Capsule Corporation! They'd pay a lot of money for it if we took it to them!

Kai: I doubt it, they've been going downhill lately…

David: Don't worry about that, we just need to get this thing into my head so we know if it works or not.

Kai: *uses a tool to make a bright glowing spot on David's head* With this we don't even have to worry about surgery, we can just put it right through your skull with no damage to you whatsoever.

David: Go ahead then…

Kai: *puts the device into David's head and fuses a couple of wires with the surface of his brain*

David: Ouch, that hurt dammit!

Kai: Sorry, geez you're such a grouch!

David: Shut up or I'll flatten you!

<<<Kai & Jason step back.>>>

David: What's with you two?

Kai: You're acting really strange. Are you feeling okay?

David: I'm fine.

Jason: So does the device do anything?

Kai: It is meant to enhance every attribute of a human being including their physical abilities. Do you feel any different David? Maybe you should try testing it out.

David: *channels large amount of spiritual energy into his right fist* Seems to be let's see what happens if I do this… *punches Jason in the stomach causing him to fly back, hit the wall, and crashes to the ground while coughing out blood*

Kai: *shocked* What the hell?! Why'd you do that?! *runs over to Jason* Are you alright?

Jason: *blood still streaming from his mouth* Yea…I think it works…

Kai: David, what is the meaning of this?!

David: I feel like a whole new person with this enhancement! I no longer want anything to do with the original plan. Instead, I'm going to make myself the new ruler of the world! From this point on I am David no more. I will now be known as Omega! *forms a blazing ball of energy in his right hand and fires it at Jason, completely destroying him*

Kai: Jason…NO!!! Rezonoken! You will pay for that, TRAITOR!!! *forms three ninja stars in each hand, energizes them and hurls them at Omega*

Omega: *forms an energy barrier causing the ninja stars to explode on contact leaving him completely untouched* Did you really think it would be that easy?

Kai: I'll take you down! Demon Aura! *engulfed in reddish-orange energy as his canine teeth become fangs, he grows claws on his hands and feet, his eyes glow completely red and he roars like some strange beast form another world*

Omega: What the…?!

Kai: *lunges at Omega with inhuman speed; claws poised*

Omega: He's not upgraded, how the hell is he moving so fast?!

Kai: *in a deep, growling voice* Hurricane slash! *strikes Omega numerous times in a whirlwind of slashing attacks*

Omega: AAAAAHHHH!!! *falls to the ground*

Kai: *holds out his hand and forms a translucent ball of energy* Now I will finish you, Replicate! *forms into seven of himself, each with their own ball of energy* Prism Kamidama! *each copy of himself fires their ball into one spot causing them to fuse together; then the original jumps up, catches it, and fuses it with his own before firing the entire mass of energy straight at Omega*

Omega: No…too much power…can't…stop…it! *overcome by the blast and plowed into a wall, leaving a crater behind*

Kai: Chakra level is low…*energy around his body disappears as he returns to his normal state and all the copies become one again, restoring his energy in the process*

Omega: *steps out of the crater; not seriously damaged* Hmmm… You have a lot more power than you let on. I had no idea you were that strong…I suppose I underestimated you, but don't worry because it won't happen again.

Kai: *takes a deep breath* (I don't think I can beat him like this. I'll have to retreat and try again later.) Fine, you've won the battle Omega but this is a war…and it's far from over… *teleports*

Omega: Damn, I guess I'll destroy him later. *begins rearranging things in the workshop and creating a headquarters for himself*

<<<Meanwhile on some cliff overlooking the city…>>>

Kai: I don't like the way this is turning out… Almost as soon as we got the device into his head, he went crazy. I'm going to go talk this over with Zero. Maybe he'll know what to do. *disappears again*

<<<Back in Kai's workshop.>>>

Omega: Okay now I have a small base. I'll need to build a shield generator and some equipment for making more minions.

<<<Meanwhile at some strange building with large metal doors and lighted walls… {It is nighttime.} Kai is approaching a device with a speaker that is mounted on the wall next to the large metal doors.>>>

Kai: *pushes a button on the device*

Speaker: The owls hunt at night…

Kai: …and the mice run in fright!

Speaker: One moment…

<<<Something clicks and the huge metal doors open.>>>

Kai: *walks inside*

<<<Doors close and lock shut behind him.>>>

???: *unidentifiable due to the darkness* Ghosts lurk in the shadows…

Kai: …but shadows cannot exist in the light.

<<<The lights click on and the unknown person becomes visible.>>>

Kai: Hey Zero.

Zero: Greetings and pardon the riddles. I had to make certain that you were not an imposter.

Kai: We have a situation. Me, David, and Jason were working on a device that increases human prowess but David decided that we should test it on him first to be sure that it worked. We installed it into his head and almost immediately afterwards he went psycho, killed Jason, and started saying that from this point on he would be known as Omega.

Zero: Hmmm…seems that the device has taken control of his mind.

Kai: I tried to take him down myself but even when while using my best attacks, I hardly managed to even leave a mark.

Zero: So you want the Hunter's Guild to help you?

Kai: Yes, if we don't act fast he will have an entire army ready and lay siege to the city!

Zero: Okay follow me.

<<<They walk to another room. This one has an extremely large computer in it with a big cushy chair in front of it that has several buttons on the armrest.>>>

Zero: *sits in the chair and pushes one of the buttons causing a light to come on* Everyone report to the Command Room, please. This is urgent. *pushes the button again making the light turn off again*

<<<The others walk into the room.>>>

Zero: Everyone I'm sure you remember Kai. Now he just brought news to me that we have a huge problem on our hands.

Sarah: I want to help this time Zero!

Zero: I'm afraid you still too young. Besides you need to stay here and work on your spells.

Sarah: *whining* But Zero…

Zero: You know the rules Sarah. You can't even earn your Hunter's Certification until your 14th birthday.

Sarah: But I'm already 13…and it would be good practice!

Zero: No Sarah! I don't want anything to happen to you…

Sarah: Fine…*walks off*

Xenon: Hey Kai. The mission will proceed as soon as we plan everything out, okay?

Kai: That's fine. I will be assisting in the mission so keep that in mind when making the plan.

Xenon: Okay, wait here a moment. *walks into another room*

Zero: *follows him*

Kai: *waits in the Command Room*

<<<About 10 minutes later.>>>

Xenon & Zero: *walk out* We've come up with something.

Kai: So…

Xenon: I will be here at the base being your computer operator while you and Zero go and take out Omega from where he's at assuming that he remained at your workshop and decided to make it into a base.

Zero: Any objections?

Kai: No but I would like to know what the operator is for.

Xenon: I will be here using the computer to provide you with geographical data of the area around you and I can also scan for life forms and energy signatures if they are either close by or have a large amount of energy.

Kai: Works for me, how do we keep in touch?

Xenon: Glad you asked. *gives Kai and Zero each a an earpiece and a small microphone* These will maintain a link with me as long as you don't run completely out of spiritual energy since that's what powers them.

Kai: *puts the earpiece in his ear and clips the microphone onto the front of his scarf*

Zero: *hands his back to Xenon* I won't need these; I have an internal communication system remember?

Xenon: Okay. *puts them away and walks over to the computer* I'm in position, waiting on you guys.

Kai & Zero: *run out the door*

<<<Outside…>>>

Zero: Are you able to fly?

Kai: No, I'm a ninja not a bird.

Zero: Don't worry about it. *two pole like wings tipped with jet engines fold out from his back and flies up into the air a few feet*

Kai: So what do you expect me to do? Copy you?

Zero: *holds out his hand* Grab on!

Kai: *grabs his hand*

Zero: *flies toward Kai's old workshop while carrying Kai*

<<<Meanwhile…>>>

Omega: This is perfect! I have hacked the military laser satellite and created the perfect minion, Sigma. Now when Zero shows up I'll just have Sigma keep him in one spot for a while and BAM!!! I fire the laser satellite and blow him to bits!

Sigma: Won't it destroy me too though?

Omega: No, not as long as you teleport out of the way of the blast before it impacts the ground.

<<<Elsewhere, in the sky…>>>

Kai: Are we there yet? My arm fell asleep 15 minutes ago!

Zero: Almost…

<<<They land in front of the building about 5 minutes later.>>>

Kai: *shaking his arm around trying to get blood flowing to it again*

Zero: That's not gonna help much. Look this place looks different now!

Kai: *looks at what used to be his workshop*

<<<The building has been changed from a mediocre shed-like workshop into a large, stone building with a vault door on the front and completely surrounded by an energy barrier of some sort.>>>

Kai: Good god! Looks like we're gonna have our work cut out for us.
