Alone in the Darkness I fall

Chapter 5: Alone

"Speech" `Thoughts' *Dream*

The sun forced me to wake up from my fitful sleep and face the hard truth. I had left the only place that I cared about and left on my own. Bulma was willing to help me but I just can help it. I love to be alone but need to have someone with me at all times. Of all the people I missed little Trunks held my attention. I hated kids but I loved the spit out of him. I didn't cry because I had to make the most of what I had and I couldn't afford to replace my clothing after crying. "Maybe I should have stayed." I lifted my head and looked off the cliff that I had fallen asleep on. The view was beautiful and the sunrise bathed the sky with all shades of red and orange. I turned my back to the sun and walked towards the small brook that bubbled up from a crack in a large rock cropping. I filled my belly with the sweet water and continued onward. There was no going back now; even though I felt like they would come looking for me soon. I walked all day until the sun was directly over my head. There was no sign of humans nearby so I felt better and slowed down my pace. I could feel the presence of the animals and plants around me; I could walk blindfolded through here and not hit anything. It was odd but it finally felt like I belonged. With the gentle hush of the wind and the birds singing in the distance I could relax. I didn't stop to indulge my senses and quickly passed through the forest and into a vast wasteland. The thought of walking through the sunlight made me want to turn back and hide in the shadows until nightfall but I just kept walking. As I stepped out onto the sandy desert, I felt eyes on my back. I turned around and looked around but I couldn't see anyone. I started to get nervous and decided to wait until nightfall to cross the desert. There was a tall tree nearby and I crawled up to one of the higher branches to watch for danger. I listened to the leaves brushing together in the gentle breeze and my eyes became heavy and slowly closed.

Cell watched the odd creature turn around and look as if she knew he was there. She walked over to the tree he was hiding in and climbed up to the branch under him. He didn't move and waited until her eyes slowly drooped and her head lulled forward in sleep. His eyes scanned her the best he could from his perch; he took in every little detail as if it could help him defeat her. The length of her eyelashes, how she whimpered every once and awhile, it looked like she was having nightmares. He couldn't understand why he just didn't absorb her already. His tail inched down to her neck and he held the point against her skin. She jerked awake in surprise and fell out of the tree; but not before his tail make a slice in her neck spraying blood onto his tail. He screamed as the blood ate through his tail and pushed through his veins to his heart. He hit the ground with a thud and passed out as the darkness consumed his eyes.

I felt something sharp dig into the side of my neck and I jumped up in alarm. In my surprise I lost my balance and fell to the ground in a heap. My neck was bleeding and it hit the ground with and ominous hiss. A scream came from the tree and I barely got out of the way as he hit the ground and curled into a ball. I could see that my blood had eaten away at his tail and it was smoking slightly. He was unconscious and looked like he was in extreme pain. I stood up only to find that my left ankle was broken. He needed to be helped but I couldn't stand. Soon my curiosity got the best of me and I crawled to his side and flipped him onto his back. I gasped when I saw the darkness feeding on his essence like it was trying on baby Trunks.

"Why are you doing this?" I yelled at the darkness. I knew that it just wanted to hurt me again but I couldn't help it. I put my hands over his eyes and pulled the darkness from him. It burned through my veins like fire but I couldn't let it hurt someone who didn't deserve it. I collapsed on him and contorted in pain as I tried to fight it.

Cell felt the fire in his veins subside and the darkness around his eyes dissipated. He felt a weight pressed on him and to his surprise the girl had collapsed on top of him. He got up and she fell into his lap. The pain was gone but he saw her contorting in pain, her eyes were open but they were completely black like there was nothing there. He grabbed her to push her off of him, when a wave of nausea crashed into him and he tightly pushed his hands over his mouth. She rolled off of him and looked like she was having a seizure. He couldn't touch her without feeling like he was going to throw up his intestines. He was curious though; after he pulled his hands away he felt like there was nothing wrong. He finally grabbed her arms and slammed her hard on the ground. The girls eyes cleared up and he saw that they were silted like his; but what shocked him the most was the color of her eyes. They were gray but around the pupil was a layer of gold. He couldn't stop staring even after she passed out in his arms. A sudden surge of pain ripped through his very core and he collapsed on top of the sleeping girl. He wasn't aware of the pair of angry eyes boring into his back.

I couldn't breathe; there was weight pushing down on my chest and restricting my air flow. I pushed the weight off my chest and heard it murmur in discomfort. My eyes flew open and the harshness of the sun made my eyes water. My breath caught in my chest as I saw who was lying on the ground. `Oh my Kami its Cell! What should I do? He looks in a lot of pain.' I crawled to his side and put my hand on his forehead. I couldn't tell if he had a fever or not so I dragged him over into the shade. My ankle hurt and I knew that if I didn't set it; it would never be the same again. I looked over at him before standing and limping over to the tree I had fallen out of. There were some branches on the ground and I used them to set my wound. I could feel the hot tears sting my cheeks and hiss as they fell. I couldn't stay with him; no matter how much I wanted to. () My blood had hurt him but I just stared at him as he slowly breathed in and out. `I can't leave him, the darkness wants him too. He has no way to defend himself.' `He'll kill you the first chance he gets, you know.' The voice in the back of my head surfaced. `You again? What do you want this time?' I asked. The voice told me to leave and not look back. I couldn't; I sat down next to him and touched his head crest. He pulled away a little and his eyes snapped open. He jumped away and stared intently into my eyes. I tilted my head to the side like a cat would if it were trying to understand. He slinked closer to me until our faces nearly touched. `This can't be good can it?' So I just did what came naturally. I leaned forward and………

Cell felt something touch his head crest and he jerked awake. The girl was sitting next to him and wasn't afraid. He couldn't help himself and he got lost in the waters of her eyes. He watched as she tilted her head; it reminded him of a cat trying to understand what's going on. He moved closer and was surprised when she didn't move away. His eyes nearly popped out of his head as she leaned forward and put her lips on his. Something inside of him was begging to go farther and he couldn't understand what it meant by farther. He just let her lips linger there before grabbing the back of her head and forcing his tongue into her mouth and indulging in the feelings that it caused him. Her arms wrapped around his shoulders and their tongues battled each other for supremacy. She moaned a little bit and ran her hands over his back muscles. He was enjoying this and didn't want it to stop. What came next surprised them both.
