Androids

Chapter Five : Dr. Gero

"Now where could they be...."he asked himself."Where?"
He looked over to the closest island to see a gigantic crater.He hopped over to the island and ran to the crater.
"Wow...that's some hole..."he murmured.He turned to the mainland, and spotted Android 19's smoking corpse."Huh...?"
He jumped over and landed in front of the body."Malfunction...Malfunction..."it repeated, wires bursting out of parts of his body.
"What's with this?"Trunks asked himself.For Trunks, the boy from 20 years in the future, had returned.He bent down and touched the wires.Hot electricity ran through him.
"It's still going...but what is it?"and then it clicked, "Ahh...it's, yes...but how?It's one of Dr.Gero's...but he never created this!In my time, there were only two...and not one of them looked like this!"
He kept staring at it, and suddenly it sat up, it's head turned to the side.It grabbed Trunks' hands.
"Ahh!"he gasped.
"He..he..."it half-laughed, half-choked, it's head twisted to the side."I shall have it all...Vegeta...Veegeetal..."it groaned, it's voicebox burnt.
Nonetheless, energy began to leave Trunks.
What is this... Trunks thought, I feel energy leaving me...and did he say my father's name?His grip is so strong...
Trunks gritted his teeth and used his feet to crush the android's head into the ground.
"Malfunksion...malfunksioo..."it croaked, and finally, it "died".Trunks ripped off it's hands, and released them from his grip.
He stared at the palm, noticing the shining glass."He absorbs people's energies..."he muttered."Huh?"
He turned to the mainland and felt enormous powers out there."I'm coming!It might not be too late!"
Trunks blasted off for Piccolo and the others.

Vegeta landed on the largest cliff, which happened to be at the edge of the canyon, leading all the way deep into the forest, like a pillar which had fell down, crushing the trees or pushing them aside in it's wake.
"Your hiding round here somewhere, android"Vegeta called."Come out!Come on, get out!"
The Android pressed himself up against a tree, waiting.Yes, Vegeta is strong and it seems he has disposed of Freiza...his ego will get the better of him.Until then, I must wait.
"I saw your fat guy before, he felt fear.That means you must feel shame"he said calmly, "Doesnt it?!"he shouted."Fine, then I'll blast you out!"he cried.
He stared firing randomly.One of the blasts hit 20's tree, and he dashed through the others.He knew Vegeta's battle techniques:he would end this game with a huge blast, full of delicious energy.
"Heerrah!"Vegeta screamed, and he fired down, as calculated, a huge blast of energy.The android seized the oppourtunity, dashed out from his tree and grabbed the blast, absorbing it into his hand.
"Thanks for the recharge, Vegeta"he shouted.The android again disappeared into the trees, inching ever closer to his goal.
"Bastard!"Vegeta shouted."I'll get you!"

Android 20 jumped into the air over a boulder and crouched behind it.Good, yes, Vegeta is enraged and even though it is a possibility he will slip, it is unlikely that he will make the same mistake twice...yes with this energy I must escape to the laboratory without anymore of this time-wasting stealth manevouring...
He stood and began to run again, dashing through the trees.Krillin now was the closest to the android.In fact, he was the only one on that side of the cliff.
"Hmm..."he murmured, turning about."No...now, where would I hide if I was a maniac android who'd like nothing better than to see Goku butchered...?"
The Android jumped into the air over a felled tree.Yes, I think I shall distract them one last time...then I really must press on!No interruptions...
He turned and blasted a cliff at the far west side of the cliff, making it slide down into the trees, crushing them, and then he dashed up to it and moved on.

If Vegeta had stayed on the cliff, he would have seen the explosion and caught the android before he could escape.But he hadnt.The cocky Saiyan and moved on, thinking the android had left.So it fell to Krillin to investigate the disturbance.He landed atop the melted, mudslided cliff and surveyed the scene.
"Man, it's a mess..."he murmured.The burning carcasses of deer and other animals lay about.
"Huh?"Krillin muttered, turning around.Up at the top, there were less trees and more rocks, leading onto the grey-black mountains.He thought he heard a noise, and he definately saw a shadow.He jumped up and looked about."Mmm..."he murmured.
"Do not trouble me, Earthling"the android whispered, and before Krillin knew it his mouth was cupped, the android pinning him down.
He did not feel any energy leaving him though, "I do not have time to absorb your life energy"he answered, "I know that you runts have ways of contacting each other...so your life is temporarily spared, but-"
He paused and turned his head, which lit up red in the temple.Piccolo and Tien have decided to come this way...argh!
The android let go an disappeared, and Krillin fell down.
"Guys!"he shouted, "Guys!"Krillin powered up to his full, trying to get their attention.Yamcha and Gohan had stuck together and gone off the point completely, so it was up to Piccolo and Tien who arrived immediatly.
"What is it, Krillin?"Tien asked.
"Yeah, what did you see?"Piccolo continued.
"The android, he grabbed me and then left!"
"Do you need a senzu bean?"
"No he didnt take any energy, he said he didnt have time...he went off to the other mountains near South City!"
"We'll get him"Piccolo said.They jumped higher and began to blast off towards the mountains.
Soon all three had reached the low points of the mountains, all packed together.

Meanwhile Vegeta had been here for some time already, and was noticing the signs of android presence.The slight clanking, the crushing of branches, the sweeping colour among the blandness.And then...
Vegeta turned.There was a golden-black area of desert rock mixed with mountain rock, at the tip of the forest and the start of the mountains, and he saw the android down there."Yes..."he growled.He jumped to the edge, looking down at the android.He held up his arm, his Ki holding the android in place.
"Hahahha!"he laughed.

Piccolo turned, hearing the distant laugh.
"Guys, come on, I know where Vegeta and the Android are!"he whispered to Tien and Piccolo.He hopped down, using the boulders as ledges and he soon reached the place where the android and Vegeta were, enclosing him in a circle.
Come quick, Piccolo thought to Gohan and Yamcha, We've found the android, follow my power signal...
Gohan and Yamcha did not think it was their imagination, partly because the both heard it, and partly because it felt strangely real and true.They blasted to Piccolo's signal as quick as they could.

The Android was frozen to the spot, half-turning, enclosed by Piccolo, Tien, Krillin and Vegeta.
"Ahh..."he mumbled, straining to get free.Vegeta is using some barbaric holding technique...my chances of escape are growing thin...even with my surplus energy....
"We've got him now!"Krillin shouted.
"Who asked you pesky miscrients along anyway?"Vegeta asked, slowly touching down on the hole's floor.
"Argh...grrr..."20 growled, looking fearfully at Vegeta.
"Do not....do not step any closer!"he warned.Using his full might the Android turned around, and Vegeta's Ki grip was broken.
Even without his holding technique, they have formed a circle...my strategic implants indicate no escape, unless for some reason they are distracted...
Just then, Yamcha and Gohan landed, forming a complete circle of doom, dancing like death itself around the android.
My chances grow slim, if possible at all! The android thought.
"Gohan, how are you?"Piccolo asked, without looking.
"Good"Gohan replied, his eyes fixed on the android.
"It's about time you two showed up"Tien said to Yamcha.
"Hey you guys looked like you were handling it pretty well alone!"Yamcha cried.
The Android stared hopelessly between them, as a ship entered the scene, an aircar, coming closer towards them.

"Dr.Gero?"Bulma murmured, looking at the tiny figure of the grey-haired man through the on-board 1000x zoom computer-operated telescope.
"Man, would you stop fiddling with your gadgets for one minute?!"Yadjirobe complained, steering the plane on it's course for the battlefield.
Bulma ignored him, "I dont know what's going on, but I think we should investigate!"

Trunks was blasting towards the place where everyone seemed to be gathering, too.20's list of people to deal with was growing longer and longer, and he didnt know if he could attend to them all.Sure, he had consumed so much energy he was well above his natural power level, but it would be hopeless to assume an easy victory, and stupid to think he would escape to the laboratory now : he would just have to use some more gurriela techniques to see them finished.
I dont know what this means, Trunks thought, So that fat one was an android, but he was weak...and what was with those power absorbers?He doesnt even look remotely like androids 17 and 18...So these androids look different, their weaker, but they absorb peoples powers?It doesnt make any sense...I cant believe my time travelling could have altered history so much...
Through all these musings, Trunks didnt even know he had reached the gathering place of the others, zooming past Bulma's ship.
"Huh?"everyone mumbled, turning to Trunks.
"Trunks!"Piccolo shouted, "Your here, but..?"
"Well I thought you might need some help defeating the androids...you know I've found something strange out about them...the one you defeated..."
"Yeah?"Piccolo asked.
Trunks... Vegeta thought, Strange, he has the same name as my son... Vegeta had imagine of his son, Trunks, him, his son, Trunks as a Super Saiyan, and the images whirrled in his mind and it clicked, Trunks...Trunks...a Super Saiyan...he is my son!
"Ahh..."he gasped in disbelief turning to Trunks.He smirked, "Well, he is my son..."
No...darn it! 20 thought, Who is this one?I do not even have him calculated in my database...this is impossible!
"Did you say...'Trunks'?"Yamcha asked.
"Yes...there's something you guys should know"Piccolo began to confess, "Trunks is Bulma and Vegeta's son from 20 years in future"
"Ah..."Gohan murmured.
"No way..."Krillin muttered.
Trunks blushed, but trying to be proffesional, the team accepted this and moved on.
"He's not one of the androids I found in my time"Trunks told Piccolo and the others.
"Ahh.."Yamcha, Krillin, Tien and Gohan murmured in surprise.
"They're not?!"Piccolo asked."Are you entirely sure?"
"Yes, he's not the one..."Trunks told him, "I dont know what this means!"
"It means...."Vegeta started, "You, boy, told us a pack of lies!"he roared.
"No, I-"Trunks started.He turned to 20, "What...who is that guy?"
"He's the other one"Piccolo repled
"No, neither of them appeared in my time!"
"That's not all"Krillin said, "Freiza survived!He was rebuilt as a cyborg!"
"Huh?No way!"Trunks pretended to be surprised.He knew that Diordna caused Freiza to live..."Diordna..."Trunks whispered."It was him!"
"What?"Yamcha asked.
"I was just asking, where's Freiza?"Trunks lied.
"I took care of him"Vegeta said."Our problem is this old tinbox!"He pointed to the Android.
What are they discussing? 20 thought to himself, looking between them, They seem to be talking about androids...is it possible they have knowledge of 17 and 18?
Just then, Bulma's ship came into veiw.
"Look it's Bulma!"Yamcha cried.
"Huh?"Vegeta and Trunks murmured.
"Bulma, no!Leave here!"Piccolo warned.
Her ship door was open."That man, he's...he's Dr.Gero himself!"she shouted.
Perfect, my oppourtunity to escape has come at last! 20 thought, and he blasted Bulma's ship out the sky, scarpering into the protection of the mountains, without pausing for thought, I see, so yet another of my secrets have been revealed...they know my true identity...no matter.They know not the location of... Dr.Gero paused, and then the image of Bulma flashed in his mind, but he did not stop, in fact this new pondering made him go even faster than before, She...yes, she is the daughter of Dr.Breifs!It is a possibilty that she knows the location of my laboratory...it is lucky that I destroyed her before she revealed some more valuable information.
The Doctor was now mere minutes from his goal.He dived down into the lower forest regions, and dashed along the last few miles of his journey.

The smoking ship hit the ground and exploded completely there.Trunks grabbed his mother and his younger self, while Gohan caught Yadjirobe, but a bit too late.
He landed on his behind, and then fell onto his back.
"Eugh..eugh..."he coughed, wiping dust off him, "It's a bit late, Gohan!"he complained.
"Are you alright?"Trunks asked upon the ledge above Gohan and Yadjirobe.
He bent down in front of Bulma and the baby Trunks.
"Thanks..oh, it's you!"Bulma cried."Trunks, say hello to the big man who told us about the androids!"
"Heh..."Trunks murmured.He turned now to Vegeta, staring angrily."What did you say about the android?"Trunks asked.
"He's no android, he's Dr.Gero!I saw it plain as day"Bulma told him.Trunks grabbed them and raised up, then they landed on the ledge with the others, Gohan and Yadjirobe following.
"Dr.Gero?"Piccolo asked.
"Yeah I saw him in one of my dad's magazines, he won Scientist of the Year award, but he never accepted"Bulma told them.
"So your saying that we've been fighting Dr.Gero all along?"Krillin asked.
"Seems that way"Bulma replied, swaying with Trunks.
"You stupid boy!"Vegeta roared, "Why did you come back in the first place?You've been a waste of time!"
"Well, he told my dad about his illness"Gohan said.
Vegeta ignored them on the ledge above, but Trunks flew to meet him.
"Why didnt you save your wife and your son?"Trunks asked with narrowed eyes.
"Them?Heh"Vegeta laughed, scanning the sky, "I dont have time for that stupid woman and her child!Now get out of my sight, boy"
"No, I wont"Trunks told him firmly, "Not until you go down there and apologise to your family"
"Are you serious?"Vegeta asked him, turning to face him, "I dont have time for your annoyance, boy"Vegeta spat.
He rose into the air and blasted off.
Trunks jumped back down to the others.
"I guess it must have been my reckless time travelling that caused this all"Trunks told them."I'm sorry"
"It doesnt matter now, but thanks anyway"Piccolo said.
"So I guess he invented the androids then turned himself into one..."Trunks murmured, "But in my time, Dr.Gero is dead..."
"Any idea where he's headed?"Krillin asked.
"Perhaps his laboratory..."Trunks mused."Oh!"he cried.
"Huh?"everyone murmured, looking to him.
"I nearly forgot!I've got some heart medicine for Goku"he said, pulling a capsule from his jacket, "Where is he?"
"Ahh, he went home..."Piccolo told him, "And Trunks, we've got some bad news.I guess the thirt of battle was too much for him...he became a Super Saiyan to help us..."
"And so endangering you all..."Trunks mumured."Look it shouldnt take long for me to find Goku and get back"
"Should we wait?"Krillin asked.
"No dont"Trunks replied, "There's no time, quickly search for Dr.Gero's lab!"
Trunks closed his eyes and searched for Goku, "He's Ki's low, but I got him!"he shouted.He blasted off.
"Wait!"Krillin cried, "Goku's house is the other way"
"He'll find it"Piccolo told Krillin determindedly.
"Do you know where his lab is, Bulma?"Tien asked.
"Yeah, it's very close here, in the mountains somewhere"Bulma replied."Just keep going, follow Vegeta then turn east when you reach Corokk Mountain"
"I know where that is"Yamcha said."Come on guys, let's go"
"Hey, what about me?"Yadjirobe asked.
"Yeah"Bulma agreed, "We dont have any transport..."
"I'll take you guys back"Gohan volunteered.
"Good going, Gohan"Piccolo said."Let's go, Gohan, take them back!"
Piccolo, Tien, Krillin and Yamcha blasted off in Vegeta's direction, but Gohan stayed to positionYadjirobe and Bulma as best he could, then took off.

Vegeta, enraged at letting the android slip from his grip, blasted wildly.He was also angry at his distraction...he looked at the ship...he did care about his family, whatever his pride may insist...
"Huh?"Vegeta murmured.He spotted something pounding through the trees, a blurred shadow..."It's him!"
He dropped into the trees and began to run after the figure, but he used amazing speed.
"I've got you, android!"he shouted.The android turned and jumped, letting Vegeta run wildly out of the trees and to the edge of Corokk Mountain.
Up on a ledge about five hundred feet up, there was a hole in the mountain, the entrance to 20's lab.But there were many of them, only that was the largest.
Vegeta did not notice this, and instead took the passageway in between Corokk Mountain and the one next to it.
20 dropped down from the treetop and began to run like he'd never ran before, jumping up the ledges with unmatched speed, and soon reached his laboratory.
He trotted in."It seems I have won this little race..."Gero muttered.He reached the blast doors and keyed them open, walked in and closed them behind him.
He surveyed his lab ; there were numerous things, spare parts, dummy bodies, computers and supercomputers, the basment hatch, the embryo storage facility.
And most importantly, the android cases.
16 17 18 19 were stacked neatly in order.
Maybe I should complete 16, for he shall prove a most powerful asset...rather than the uncontrollable rebels and truants that are 17 and 18...
"Doctor, your back!"a voice said.Out from the side of the lab came King Cold, Freiza's father."Did everything go to plan?"
"Er..."the doctor murmured, "Your son is still fighting Vegeta, but 19 has been destroyed.I will open up another to aid me further"
"Vegeta?How long must it take to destroy a filthy Saiyan rat like him?"
"He seems to have the ability to go Super Saiyan or whatever it is now"Gero told him.
"Ahh, a good fight for my boy!"The King said cheerfully.
"Yes..."20 murmured skeptically.He was focused now upon his next option : release the uncompleted 16, release the rebellious 17 and 18, complete and release android 16, or modify himself...the quickest option is to release 17 and 18.16 would need rebooting...
"So, what now?"King Cold asked Android 20 as he walked to 17 and 18's capsules.
He reached the foot of them, seeing his reflection in the glass, and behind that, the androids themselves.
"Well?Are you going to release them?"Cold persisted, "Last time they destroyed your remote it took myself and Freiza to put them away...you dont want that back again, will you?"
"I...have no choice..."20 said.
"Well, surely isnt there some other way?-"King Cold asked.
"No!"20 snapped, looking back to the cases, thinking.He grabbed the remote, was about to push the "EJECT" -labelled button, when he stopped.
"No, only if they find me, at the bitter end shall I release them"20 said.He walked over to his workplace.
"What are you doing then?"King Cold asked.
"I shall try and increase my strength before they arrive..."he told King Cold.
"And I?"
"Guard the door"
20 sat down at his workdesk in front of his super computer and engineering machine, and began to modify himself into a superior warrior to 17 and 18 themselves.

Freiza pushed a heavy slab of rock off him, dusty and dirty, and it was crushed into rubble as he stamped angrily over it.
"Vegeta...that filthy Saiyan!"he cried.He breathed in and out, rising into the air, "It was only because I was surprised of his transformation, thats all..."
He scanned and found his father and Android 20 in the lab, "Yes, oh yes you filthy Saiyan, I'll get you next time!"
Freiza now blasted towards the laboratory.

Trunks was flying absent-mindedly towards the power signal when he stopped short, "This is it"
He lowered himself down onto the dried - up river bed, great holes containing dead sea and river life dotted around the place.
"Goku's here?"Trunks asked himself, walked around, "No way..."
He reached the pointed where Goku was supposed to be.He looked to his right, his left, behind him, even to the sky, but no sign of him.He then looked down and found himself looking into one of those deep pits, where Goku's battered body lay curled up.
"Oh no!"Trunks cried, descending to floor and grabbing Goku, "How did this happen?!"
He picked up his friend and slung him over his back, and quickly fed him some medicine.
"Goku...quick Goku, wake up!"Trunks urged, shaking him.Goku opened his eyes slightly, then made a grab for his heart.
"Ahh!"he groaned, "The..pain..."
"Goku listen carefully, it's me Trunks...you have to take yourself back home now!"
He lifted Goku's fingers to his head, "Come on"Trunks willed him.
"Let go..."Goku mumbled.Trunks did so, and gave him the capsule, "That's medicine"he explained, as Goku held it.
He began to flash, and a second later he was gone.Trunks took off, hoping for the best.

Vegeta was at the foot of the mountain, looking all about him.
"Where could that android be?"he murmured."Maybe he has some secret hiding place under the ground..."
He stamped it a few times and then turned to the pathway leading up the mountain."Mmm..."he murmured suspiciously.
"There he is!"Krillin sneered.
"Huh?"Vegeta muttered in confusion, "Oh it's you...your putting me off!"
"We've got a stake in this too, Vegeta, so back off"Piccolo warned.
"Fine, I suppose we could work better with more eyes"Vegeta agreed, "Now split up, look for him.I saw him not to long ago...he's fast when he wants to be"

I've got to remember, they cant kill Dr.Gero or Diordna wont be born... Trunks thought, But wait, that was a different dimension...it holds no bearing to this one... he saw an image of a smiling Diordna among the clouds, But morally... he swooped down towards Vegeta's power signal at the mountain, I wonder how he is now, anyway...
Trunks mused on this for a while, and in no time at all he seemed to be standing next to Tien and Piccolo.

"Trunks, hey"Piccolo growled, his usual greeting."Goku?"
"He's fine"Trunks replied.
"Good"Piccolo said, briefing his team, "So were all here and we've got a real chance for victory"
Yamcha, Krillin, Trunks and Tien listened in carefully, nodding.
"I say that he uses these rocky crevices and caves for cover...in fact, he may be concealing his lab in the mountainside itself"
Just then, interrupting Piccolo, an aura covering a person, followed by a trail of white light, shot through the sky and into the mountainside.
"Huh...?"Vegeta murmured, watching it, "Where did it go..."
"That was an android!"Tien shouted, "There's no power"
"But who...?"Krillin asked.
"Looks like Vegeta left his work unfinished...it's Freiza"
"Well now we know where the lab entrance is..."Trunks murmured.Before he could start, Vegeta was tearing up the slope towards Freiza's impact point.
"That fool!"Piccolo murmured.Trunks blasted off after him, "Father!"
"Come on guys, hurry!"Piccolo urged, and they blasted off after Trunks.
"Well what d'ya think he's doing up there?"Krillin asked.
"I dont know...but I can sense something evil..."Piccolo murmured.

Vegeta reached the entrance to the lab, and saw Freiza facing the door, inches away.
"Ahh, Vegeta..."Freiza murmured.
"So you got away, huh?"Vegeta asked angrily.
"Wow, what a smart Saiyan you are"Freiza replied.
Vegeta clenched and raised up his fist, "I just wanted to finish it quickly, that's all!Next time, I'll destroy you"
Freiza opened the door and jumped through, closing it before Vegeta could get in.
He hit the door with his fists angrily.

"Huh?"20 murmured, his desk shaking.Freiza burst into the lab.
"Vegeta is outside"Freiza told them, gasping.
"What...you...didnt defeat him?"King Cold asked.
"It's all a matter of time, father..."
20 sealed up his arm and stood up, "I have completed some upgrades.I think we may have a chance if we pull together"
"Pull together?!"King Cold asked in outrage, "I thought my son would have unequalled strength to destroy the Saiyans"
20 did not reply.
"It's alright father"Freiza said, "It was my fault...
"Hmmm..."King Cold murmured, looking at him.
The door shook as Vegeta banged on it in rage.
"Are you sure only Vegeta is out there?"20 asked.
"I dont know"Freiza replied."But I would count on them being there, too"
"Then....then it has come to it at last"20 told them, "Ha..."he sighed."I have not completed all the upgrades I intended...17 and 18 must be released"
His finger went down towareds the "OPEN" button on the side of their capsule.It paused, then pushed it, releasing android 17.

Piccolo, Trunks, Krillin, Yamcha and Tien arrived a few feet behind Vegeta.
Vegeta lifted up his hand.
"No!"Trunks warned, trying to make an excuse so that he didnt kill Android 20, "We've got to wait and see what happens"
"I'm not prepared to wait for your allowance, boy!"Vegeta snarled angrily, as Trunks stood between him and the door."Now get out of my way!"
"Just wait!"Trunks urged.And then, he heard a noise...
"Shh..."Piccolo ordered, his eyes picking up on the noise too.
"What is it, Pi-?"Tien started, but he was cut short by Piccolo."Shhh!!!"

Androids 17 and 18 stood up.Their automated power supply tore off them, leaving torn wires sitting in their cases.They felt alive again, as their own power surged through them.
"Well..."17 said to 20, "Hello, Dr.Gero"
His eyes quickly flicked to the remote in his hand, then back to his face.He smiled.
18 gained control of her sense and voicebox too, "I see you've made some changes to the lab..."she commented.
"Yes"20 agreed, "Your slumber has been long...I do NOT want the kind of disrespect you gave me last time!"
17 looked over to the other side of the lab, "Oh look, your goons are back"he said of Freiza and his father.
Freiza scowled at 17, but said nothing.He had no breath to waste on this creature.He despised it.
"I see something different about you doctor..."18 murmured."What is it?"
"Yes, your systems are now functioning properly.I wondered how long it would take you.I am now an android"
"So your one of us"17 said.
20 nodded, "Now here are your instructions"20 began."Several of Goku's companions are waiting outside the laboratory for us.You shall go out there and destroy them"
Dr.Gero was pacing up and down now, "It should not be too difficult.Then you will accompany myself, Freiza and his father, for the momentous task of-"
"Embryo storage facility?"18 asked.She had ignored him, and had been investigating the lab.She looked down into it's warm, liquid content."You werent planning in having kids, were you doctor?"
"Stop it!"Gero ordered, "Leave that"
"Mmm...."18 murmured, peering into it."Alright, alright!"
"So what were you going to do with that?"17 asked, staring at his remote once again.

Freiza and King Cold nodded, but still 17 and 18 seemed uninterested.
"17!18!Pay attention!"
"Lighten up, doctor, we've got plenty of time"17 told him.
"You fools!"Gero shouted, "Do you dare to disobey me?You insubbordination infuriates me!Arghh!"
17 reached 16's container."What's this, Doctor?I dont remember seeing this the last time I came out"
"No!Do not touch that!Leave my laboratory alone!"he ordered.
17's finger went down to the release button."No!Do not!Do not do that!"
"What are you going to do about it?"17 asked.
20 smiled."Freiza?"
Freiza smiled, too, nodding.
"Ahh"17 murmured."It's you, huh?"
"Yes"Freiza told him, "Remember last time?You were no match for me"
"That's because you had your little top-up thing.Your energy absorbing models are so outdated..."
Freiza clenched his fists.
"Talking of that"18 murmured, running her finger along 19's case lid."What happened to him?"
"That is"20 fumed, "As I've told you before"he continued angrily, "NONE OF YOUR CONCERN!"

Vegeta and the others heard all of this.
"They've released 17 and 18 at last..."Trunks murmured."It's all over"
"You stupid boy!"Vegeta roared."Out of my way"
He sidelined Trunks and lifted up his hand.A ball of energy formed in it, and he blasted the door down, sending fumes of smoke into the air.
The one closest to the door was Dr.Gero himself.Vegeta again lifted up his hand towards the surprised android.
17 and 18 watched, and chose their oppourtunity to take his remote.18 blasted forward and snatched it, Freiza and King Cold jumped for 17, Vegeta blasted 20 and Trunks jumped in the way to create an awesome mixture of confusion.The blast hit Trunks.He choked, one eye half-closed.
Then he stood strong again.
"What ARE you doing, you moron!"Vegeta angrily shouted.
The boy saved me... 20 thought, his head turned to Vegeta, his body facing King Cold, Freiza and the androids, But why?Does he want me for himself, or...?
"It's that kid!"Freiza cried.
Trunks, to avoid any more confusion, grabbed 20 and blasted out into the air.
Vegeta's head followed them, then when he went too far out of his vision, he turned back to the others, "Forget about those fools...it's you who are the more immediate problem!"
Freiza and 17 were about to do combat, as were 18 and King Cold.
"Maybe we shouldnt be fighting"Freiza suggested lightly, folding his arms and turning to Vegeta, "Yes, the dirty little Saiyan needs a lesson"
"Well, with Dr.Gero and his little remote out of the picture I'd be happy to indulge in a little destruction"17 agreed."18?"
She nodded.
"Right then"Vegeta started, "Who wants to go first?"

Trunks landed down on the very top of the mountain, putting 20 down next to him.
"Huh...?"20 murmured in surprise, "Why did you rescue me from Vegeta's blast?"
Trunks did not answer, clenching his fists.
"I suppose your going to destroy me, now"20 suggested, "Well then do it now...let my life be painlessly forfeit..."
"I didnt save you so I could kill you"Trunks spat, "Though I wish I did"
"Huh?"
"I come from a place 20 years in the future"
"Time travel..."Dr.Gero murmured, Is that possible?
"Yes, time travel"Trunks said, "I came back from an age of horrifying destruction and annhilation on our part.Your androids destroyed you and all of the Earth's Special Forces.In my time, I live in fear, always hiding and running..."
"Ahh..."20 gurgled, I KNEW those androids were unstoppable...they even turned on me...what...what horror have I released?!
"The only reason everyone is so strong is because I warned them.Now, when I went back, events changed slightly.There was another boy from the future, slightly younger than me and possibly from another dimension, one were I am killed.This boy is very important : he saved Goku's life, by telling me the heart medicine I brought him was actually a deadly poison..."
