Prologue
The sun was setting, just like it did every day, when the sun set, it showed the difference between night and day, of course one could chase the light and never feel the darkness, but that would be foolish as you would never stop, and end where you began. It was easier to wait, to wait for the sun to come back and split the sky. Yet it gave off no heat, it was blocked, always blocked but… something. The ground was the same everywhere, white. During the day the snow fell, and at night, it was left to stick to the ground. The snow was the same everywhere, cold and undisturbed; sometimes foot prints could be seen, but they were always covered up again.
Everything was dead, the trees stooped over the snow that covered the dry ground, the water was ice, thicker than it seemed. The once populated towns and cities were nothing now, the builders had started to crumble, and the people had rotted away, they were no more.
The earth, had once been fertile, full of life after the androids, everything had recovered, and life came out of hiding. The once Proud Capsule Corporation still stood, as glorious a building as it had been before, nothing was disturbed inside the curved walls, the kettle still stood on the hob, as it had been before. The pictures still hung on the walls and the beds still made. The carpet was ruined by age, as it had not been walked upon for years.
Yet it had been walk upon that day, and that someone was still there, inside the corporation. Noise could be heard from the lab, as if someone was rummaging through the draws. In actual fact, someone _was_ rummaging through the draws. There, stood a teenager. Quite short with Lavender hair that ended below the ears. He wore grey baggy trousers, with a black T-shirt that had been tucked in. The jacket, which he wore was on the floor, tools scattered the worktops, and in the corner of the room, stood a rocket shaped machine. The man was sweating, despite the cold. His lavender hair was clinging to his scalp, and sweat dripped off his chin. He seemed nervous, jumpy, but he was breathing heavily. Soon, the man found what he was looking for, a small screwdriver. He walked over towards the domed machine, he lay own on his back and pushed himself under. The scent of oil filled the air, and the clanking of metal could be heard. The man was breathing heavily, constantly switching wires and tightening bolts, checking pressure and power. He had been working away for hours, and by time he came up from under the device, he was covered in dirt, oil and sweat. He seemed please with his work though, and headed off towards the other side of the room to wipe his face clean. He put on his jacket that had once been a crumple on the floor.
He walked back over to the machine, where he pressed in a large square button. The machine instantly made itself into a capsule. He smiled, picked up the capsule and ran out of the room, out of the capsule Corporation, and into the air. When he was sure he was far away, he landed and took the machine out of its capsule.
"If this works…" he started, but cut off his words and started to climb into the capsule. He sat himself into the seat, pressed in a code and made his finger hover over the start button.
"Earth… don't die just yet…" he said, after that he pressed on the button, and was on his way to where ever he was going.
